In this paper, numerical calculations have been performed to analyse the influence of the orbital motion of an inner cylinder on annular flow and the forces exerted by the fluid on the inner cylinder when it is rotating eccentrically. The flow considered is fully developed laminar flow driven by axial pressure gradient. It is shown that the drag of the annular flow decreases initially and then increases with the enhancement of orbital motion, when it has the same direction as the inner cylinder rotation. If the eccentricity and rotation speed of the inner cylinder keep unchanged (with respect to the absolute frame of reference), and the orbital motion is strong enough that the azimuthal component (with respect to the orbit of the orbital motion) of the flow‐induced force on the inner cylinder goes to zero, the flow drag nearly reaches its minimum value. When only an external torque is imposed to drive the eccentric rotation of the inner cylinder, orbital motion may occur and, in general, has the same direction as the inner cylinder rotation. Under this condition, whether the inner cylinder can have a steady motion state with force equilibrium, and even what type of motion state it can have, is related to the linear density of the inner cylinder. 本文给出了关于串列双柱与创柱间流动干扰的实验研究结果。当三个圆柱排成等边三角形并靠得很近时,由于三圆柱间强烈的缝隙流动,大大地改变了绕流其中的串列双圆柱的流态。特别,当三圆柱中心距等于二倍圆柱直径时,在串列双柱的前、后柱之间形成了强烈的偏斜的缝隙流,出现了独特的压力分布以及要比单柱高出三倍以上的旋涡脱落频率。  相似文献

应用小干扰柱体控制角区马蹄涡结构的实验研究   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
本文提出一种简单的抑制和控制角区马蹄涡的被动控制方法.即在角区平板上游放置一个远小于主柱体的小干扰柱体,用其产生的弱马蹄涡来抑制和控制角区的马蹄涡结构.目的是使角区原来的马蹄涡结构由强变为弱、由大变为小、由多变为少、由非定常变为定常,以获得减小冲刷、抑制湍流、降低噪声、避免振动的工程效果.作者在风洞中采用烟线法和激光片光流动显示的方法开展研究,实验表明,在平板上游适当位置放置小干扰柱体的确可以有效抑制和控制角区马蹄涡结构.实验发现,当小干扰柱体放置在原角区马蹄涡生成区时,其抑制和控制效果最佳;当小干扰柱体放置在上游区或下游区时,控制效果不好.本文讨论了小干扰柱体控制角区马蹄涡的机理.此外,实验还研究了小干扰柱体相对尺度和截面形状对角区马蹄涡结构抑制和控制的影响.  相似文献

采用最小二乘算子分裂有限元法求解非定常不可压N-S(Navier-Stokes)方程,即在每个时间层上采用算子分裂法将N-S方程分裂成扩散项和对流项,这样既能考虑对流占优特点又能顾及方程的扩散性质。扩散项是一个抛物型方程,时间离散采用向后差分格式,空间离散采用标准Galerkin有限元法。对流项的时间项采用后向差分格式,非线性部分用牛顿法进行线性化处理,再用最小二乘有限元法进行空间离散,得到对称正定的代数方程组系数矩阵。采用Re=1000的方腔流对该算法的有效性进行检验,表明其具有较高的精度,能够很好地捕捉流场中的涡结构。同时,对圆柱层流绕流进行了数值研究,通过流线图、压力场、阻力系数、升力系数及斯特劳哈数等结果的分析与对比,表明本文算法对于模拟圆柱层流绕流是准确和可靠的。  相似文献

Heat transfer from a flat plate has been investigated when a cylinder array is located near the wall. Each cylinder in the cylinder array was positioned normal to the flow direction and parallel to the flat plate surface. Measurements of the heat transfer coefficient and the optimum value for the cylinder pitch and spacing between the cylinders and the flat plate surface were obtained. A comparison of the heat transfer mechanism in this flow system with that obtained previously for the case when a single cylinder is inserted in the boundary layer was made.  相似文献

A study was made to see if it is possible to enhance the heat transfer in the downstream region of a backward-facing step, where heat transfer is normally deteriorated, by the insertion of a cylinder near the top corner of the step. Cylinder size and streamwise position of the cylinder were kept constant but the cross-stream position of the cylinder was changed in three steps. Results of the heat transfer experiment, flow visualization, and measurement of the averaged and fluctuating flow fields were reported. When the cylinder was mounted at a position, a little higher than the top surface of the step, a jet-like flow pattern emerged in the averaged velocity profile beneath the cylinder and the recirculating flow was intensified. Therefore, the velocity of recirculating flow near the wall is increased at some streamwise positions. Additionally, the velocity fluctuation was intensified not only in the shear layer between the jet-like flow and the recirculating flow regions but also in the near wall region, resulting in the effective augmentation of heat transfer in this case. Therefore, it is concluded that the mounting of a cylinder is effective in the enhancement of deteriorated heat transfer in the recirculating flow region, if its is mounted in a proper position.  相似文献

This study investigates the instability analysis of modulated Taylor vortices flow by utilising a numerical method. Based on the consideration that the outer cylinder is fixed and the inner cylinder rotates at a non-zero averaged speed under varying modulated amplitudes and frequencies, the flow is converted from one-dimension Couette flow to Taylor vortices. When the modulated amplitude is greater than 1 and the rotation speed of the inner cylinder exceeds the threshold value for one-dimensional flow, the flow will be more stable at intermediate and high frequencies. When the modulated amplitude is sufficiently large and the inner cylinder rotates at medium frequency, subharmonic flow arises.  相似文献

在雷诺数Re=200的情况,利用Maxwell方程直接数值计算表面包覆电极与磁极圆柱体产生的电磁力分布,将其加入到动量方程中,在各种电磁力作用参数和电磁极宽度的组合下,对表面覆盖电磁极圆柱体在弱电解质中的绕流场结构及其升阻力特性进行了数值模拟与分析.结果表明,当电磁极宽度较小时,圆柱体绕流场的分离点越容易接近后驻点,而电磁力对总阻力的影响并不明显,但对压差和摩擦阻力均有明显影响.当电磁极宽度较大时,圆柱体尾部区域越容易产生射流现象,而且总阻力随电磁力作用参数和电磁极宽度增大而减小.在电磁力尚不足以完全抑制周期性涡脱落的情况下,升力幅值随电磁力作用参数增大而减小,但随电磁极宽度则先减小后略有增加,升力脉动频率则均随电磁力作用参数和电磁极宽度增大而增加.研究表明,电磁力可以有效地改善圆柱体绕流场结构,达到减小圆柱体阻力并抑制其脉动升力之目的,因此是圆柱型结构的一种有效流动控制手段.  相似文献

An overset grid method was developed to investigate the interaction between a particle-laden flow and a circular cylinder. The method is implemented in the Pencil Code, a high-order finite-difference code for compressible flow simulation. High-order summation-by-parts operators were used at the cylinder boundary, and both bi-linear Lagrangian and bi-quadratic spline interpolation were used to communicate between the Cartesian background grid and the body-conformal cylindrical grid. The performance of the overset grid method was assessed to benchmark cases of steady and unsteady flows past a cylinder. Results show high-order accuracy and good agreement to the literature. Particle-laden flow simulations were performed, with inertial point particles impacting on a cylinder. The simulations reproduced results from the literature at a significantly reduced cost. Further, an investigation into blockage effects on particle impaction revealing that the previously published DNS data is less accurate than assumed for particles with very small Stokes numbers.  相似文献

Characteristics of the developing recirculation region behind a tapered trapezoidal cylinder and its interaction with the separating shear layer from the leading edges were studied numerically for an impulsively started laminar flow. An unsteady stream function–vorticity formulation was used. The Reynolds numbers considered range from 25 to 1000. Pressure contours, surface pressure coefficient, wake length and drag coefficient were studied through the streamline flow field. Main flow and subflow regimes were identified by an analysis of the evolution of the flow characteristics. It was found that typically, for a given trapezoidal cylinder, flow starts with no separation. As time advances, the symmetrical standing zone of recirculation develops aft of the trapezoidal cylinder. The rate of growth in width, length and structure of the aft end eddies depends on the Reynolds number. In time, separated flow from the leading edges of the trapezoidal cylinder also develops and forms growing separation bubbles on the upper and lower inclined surfaces of the trapezoidal cylinder. As time advances, the separation bubbles on the upper and lower inclined surfaces of the cylinder grow towards the downstream regions and eventually merge with the swelling symmetrical eddies aft of the cylinder. This merging of the flows creates a complex flow regime with a disturbed tertiary flow zone near the merging junction. Eventually, depending on the Reynolds number and the tapered angle of the trapezoidal cylinder, the flow develops into a specific category of symmetrical standing recirculatory flow with its own distinct characteristics. The central aim of this paper is the development and application of an efficient, iterative methodology for the computation of the perturbation fields induced by harmonic forcing of the linearised Navier–Stokes equations. The problem is formulated directly in the frequency domain, and the resulting system of equations is solved iteratively until convergence. The method is easily implemented to any implicit code that can solve iteratively the steady‐state Navier–Stokes equations. In this paper, it is applied to investigate the flow around a static cylinder with pulsating approaching flow and a cylinder undergoing forced stream‐wise oscillations. All terms of the perturbation kinetic energy equation are computed, and it is shown that perturbations grow by extracting energy from two sources: the underlying base flow field and the externally provided energy that maintains the imposed oscillation. The periodic drag force acting on the cylinder is also computed, and it is demonstrated that Morrison's equation is a simple model that can estimate with good accuracy the amplitude and phase of this force with respect to the approaching flow. The perturbation fields induced by periodic inlet flow (static cylinder) and forced stream‐wise cylinder oscillation are closely related: the velocity fields are identical in the appropriate reference frames, and a simple expression is derived, which links the pressures in the two flow cases. 利用数值方法对长宽比为1/3, 1和3的棱柱绕流在雷诺数为100的非稳态流动特性进行了分析和研究。采用有限体积法对棱柱绕流的二维流动N-S方程进行离散求解,分析和研究了非稳态的棱柱绕流流场,升力系数,阻力系数和涡动特性,数值模拟的结果与相关文献的数据比较吻合。通过上述研究能够为了解棱柱绕流的非稳态流动特性提供有力的帮助。而对棱柱三维流动的模拟分析和对雷诺数的变化对棱柱流动特性的影响进行研究,将为掌握棱柱绕流的工程特性打下基础。  相似文献

Using the direct simulation Monte Carlo method, the hypersonic flow of a binary gas mixture around a cylinder is investigated over a wide rarefaction range: from an almost continuum regime (at the Knudsen number Kn = 0.01) to free-molecular flow. The effect of a small admixture of heavy diatomic particles in a light gas flow on the relaxation processes near the cylinder and the heat flux is studied.  相似文献

利用电磁体积力改变流体边界层的结构,用作用于流体边界层上的电磁力进行消涡与增涡控制。交替分布的电极和磁极包覆在圆柱体的表面置于电介质溶液中,简单调整电磁力的时间与空间分布可以方便地控制圆柱绕流的形态。通过理论分析和数值模拟确定了实验控制的关键参数,实现了电磁力消涡和增涡的连续控制,电磁力作用下的圆柱绕流的分离点可以在前驻点和后驻点之间变动。  相似文献

Numerically, on the basis of the Krook kinetic equation, the rarefied gas flow around a circular cylinder is investigated in stationary and oscillatory regimes. The flows around a rotating cylinder and a cylinder with a nonuniformly heated surface are considered. The Knudsen numbers at which the lift force acting on the rotating cylinder changes sign are calculated. It is shown that at low Knudsen numbers a lift force acts on the nonuniformly heated cylinder.  相似文献

A circular cylinder placed in a uniform flow, and that spans the entire length between two side walls, may experience either parallel or oblique vortex shedding depending on the end conditions. It was shown by Mittal and Sidharth (2014) that the spatio-temporal periodicity of the oblique vortex shedding results in constant-in-time force experienced by the cylinder. On the contrary, parallel vortex shedding leads to fluid force that fluctuates with time. The free vibrations of a circular cylinder, in the presence of a wall, are investigated. For comparison, computations with end walls, where a slip condition on velocity is specified, are also carried out. The Reynolds number, based on the diameter of the cylinder and free-stream speed of the flow, is Re=100. The initial condition for the free vibrations is the fully developed unsteady flow past a stationary cylinder with oblique shedding. It is found that as the amplitude of vibration of the cylinder builds up, the vortices shed from the cylinder align with its axis leading to parallel shedding. The response of the cylinder is associated with two branches: initial and lower. On the lower branch, the response of the cylinder is virtually identical from two- and three-dimensional computations. The flow as well as the response is different on the initial branch and outside the synchronization regime. Forced vibrations confirm the phenomena.  相似文献

This paper describes flow around a pair of cylinders in tandem arrangement with a downstream cylinder being fixed or forced to oscillate transversely. A sinusoidal parietal velocity is applied to simulate cylinder oscillation. Time-dependent Navier-Stokes equations are solved using finite element method. It is shown that there exist two distinct flow regimes: ‘vortex suppression regime’ and ‘vortex formation regime’. Averaged vortex lengths between the two cylinders, pressure variations at back and front stagnant points as well as circumferential pressure profiles of the downstream cylinder are found completely different in the two regimes and, thus, can be used to identify the flow regimes. It is shown that frequency selection in the wake of the oscillating cylinder is a result of non-linear interaction among vortex wakes upstream and downstream of the second cylinder and its forced oscillation. Increasing cylinder spacing results in a stronger oscillatory incident flow upstream of the second cylinder and, thus, a smaller synchronization zone.  相似文献

基于四步半隐式特征线分裂算子有限元方法,对Re=100时,剪切来流作用下串列三圆柱体双自由度流致振动问题进行了数值计算. 首先,与现有文献结果进行对比验证该方法的正确性. 然后,着重分析剪切率、固有频率比和折减速度三个关键参数对串列三圆柱体结构流致动力响应及流场特性的影响. 数值计算结果表明:剪切率、固有频率比与折减速度对结构振幅和运动轨迹的影响较大. 随剪切率的增大,上游圆柱最大振幅的变化与单圆柱工况类似. 中下游圆柱最大振幅会增大且会出现双向共振现象,同时,发生共振响应区域会扩大. 随固有频率比的增大,上游圆柱顺流向锁定区间范围会减小,而中下游圆柱双向锁定区间会扩大. 另一方面,均匀来流作用下,结构运动轨迹以"8"字形和不规则形状为主. 随剪切率的增大,锁定区间内运动轨迹会由"8"字形转变为"雨滴"形. 在大剪切率与高固有频率比工况下,中游圆柱体结构运动轨迹会出现"双雨滴"形状. 最后,通过对流场特性的分析,揭示了剪切来流作用下串列三圆柱结构流致运动响应的内在机理.   相似文献
