In this paper, we consider the local discontinuous Galerkin (LDG) finite element method for one-dimensional linear time-fractional Tricomi-type equation (TFTTE), which is obtained from the standard one-dimensional linear Tricomi-type equation by replacing the first-order time derivative with a fractional derivative (of order α, with 1?<?α?≤?2). The proposed LDG is based on LDG finite element method for space and finite difference method for time. We prove that the method is unconditionally stable, and the numerical solution converges to the exact one with order O(h k?+?1?+?τ 2), where h, τ and k are the space step size, time step size, polynomial degree, respectively. The comparison of the LDG results with the exact solutions is made, numerical experiments reveal that the LDG is very effective.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the analytical solutions of fractional partial differential equations (PDEs) with Riesz space fractional derivatives on a finite domain. Here we considered two types of fractional PDEs with Riesz space fractional derivatives such as Riesz fractional diffusion equation (RFDE) and Riesz fractional advection–dispersion equation (RFADE). The RFDE is obtained from the standard diffusion equation by replacing the second‐order space derivative with the Riesz fractional derivative of order α∈(1,2]. The RFADE is obtained from the standard advection–dispersion equation by replacing the first‐order and second‐order space derivatives with the Riesz fractional derivatives of order β∈(0,1] and of order α∈(1,2] respectively. Here the analytic solutions of both the RFDE and RFADE are derived by using modified homotopy analysis method with Fourier transform. Then, we analyze the results by numerical simulations, which demonstrate the simplicity and effectiveness of the present method. Here the space fractional derivatives are defined as Riesz fractional derivatives. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this article, a local discontinuous Galerkin (LDG) method is studied for numerically solving the fractal mobile/immobile transport equation with a new time Caputo–Fabrizio fractional derivative. The stability of the LDG scheme is proven, and a priori error estimates with the second‐order temporal convergence rate and the (k + 1) th order spatial convergence rate are derived in detail. Finally, numerical experiments based on Pk, k = 0, 1, 2, 3, elements are provided to verify our theoretical results.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a new method called the fractional natural decomposition method (FNDM). We give the proof of new theorems of the FNDM, and we extend the natural transform method to fractional derivatives. We apply the FNDM to construct analytical and approximate solutions of the nonlinear time‐fractional Harry Dym equation and the nonlinear time‐fractional Fisher's equation. The fractional derivatives are described in the Caputo sense. The effectiveness of the FNDM is numerically confirmed. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this work, we study finite difference scheme for coupled time fractional Klein‐Gordon‐Schrödinger (KGS) equation. We proposed a linearized finite difference scheme to solve the coupled system, in which the fractional derivatives are approximated by some recently established discretization formulas. These formulas approximate the solution with second‐order accuracy at points different form the grid points in time direction. Taking advantage of this property, our proposed linearized scheme evaluates the nonlinear terms on the previous time level. As a result, iterative method is dispensable. The coupled terms in the scheme bring difficulties in analysis. By carefully studying these effects, we proved that the proposed scheme is unconditionally convergent and stable in discrete norm with energy method. Numerical results are included to justify the theoretical statements.  相似文献

In this article, we consider the finite element method (FEM) for two‐dimensional linear time‐fractional Tricomi‐type equations, which is obtained from the standard two‐dimensional linear Tricomi‐type equation by replacing the first‐order time derivative with a fractional derivative (of order α, with 1 <α< 2 ). The method is based on finite element method for space and finite difference method for time. We prove that the method is unconditionally stable, and the error estimate is presented. The comparison of the FEM results with the exact solutions is made, and numerical experiments reveal that the FEM is very effective. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this paper, an efficient numerical procedure for the generalized nonlinear time‐fractional Klein–Gordon equation is presented. We make use of the typical finite difference schemes to approximate the Caputo time‐fractional derivative, while the spatial derivatives are discretized by means of the cubic trigonometric B‐splines. Stability and convergence analysis for the numerical scheme are discussed. We apply our scheme to some typical examples and compare the obtained results with the ones found by other numerical methods. The comparison shows that our scheme is quite accurate and can be applied successfully to a variety of problems of applied nature.  相似文献

In this article, the fractional variational iteration method is employed for computing the approximate analytical solutions of degenerate parabolic equations with fractional time derivative. The time‐fractional derivatives are described by the use of a new approach, the so‐called Jumarie modified Riemann–Liouville derivative, instead in the sense of Caputo. The approximate solutions of our model problem are calculated in the form of convergent series with easily computable components. Moreover, the numerical solution is compared with the exact solution and the quantitative estimate of accuracy is obtained. The results of the study reveal that the proposed method with modified fractional Riemann–Liouville derivatives is efficient, accurate, and convenient for solving the fractional partial differential equations in multi‐dimensional spaces without using any linearization, perturbation or restrictive assumptions. This paper deals with numerical solution to the multi-term time fractional diffusion equation in a finite domain. An implicit finite difference scheme is established based on Caputo's definition to the fractional derivatives, and the upper and lower bounds to the spectral radius of the coefficient matrix of the difference scheme are estimated, with which the unconditional stability and convergence are proved. The numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the theoretical analysis, and the method and technique can also be applied to other kinds of time/space fractional diffusion equations.  相似文献

We present the method of lines (MOL), which is based on the spectral collocation method, to solve space‐fractional advection‐diffusion equations (SFADEs) on a finite domain with variable coefficients. We focus on the cases in which the SFADEs consist of both left‐ and right‐sided fractional derivatives. To do so, we begin by introducing a new set of basis functions with some interesting features. The MOL, together with the spectral collocation method based on the new basis functions, are successfully applied to the SFADEs. Finally, four numerical examples, including benchmark problems and a problem with discontinuous advection and diffusion coefficients, are provided to illustrate the efficiency and exponentially accuracy of the proposed method.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a two‐dimensional multi‐term time‐fractional Oldroyd‐B equation on a rectangular domain. Its analytical solution is obtained by the method of separation of variables. We employ the finite difference method with a discretization of the Caputo time‐fractional derivative to obtain an implicit difference approximation for the equation. Stability and convergence of the approximation scheme are established in the L ‐norm. Two examples are given to illustrate the theoretical analysis and analytical solution. The results indicate that the present numerical method is effective for this general two‐dimensional multi‐term time‐fractional Oldroyd‐B model.  相似文献

This article presents a finite element scheme with Newton's method for solving the time‐fractional nonlinear diffusion equation. For time discretization, we use the fractional Crank–Nicolson scheme based on backward Euler convolution quadrature. We discuss the existence‐uniqueness results for the fully discrete problem. A new discrete fractional Gronwall type inequality for the backward Euler convolution quadrature is established. A priori error estimate for the fully discrete problem in L2(Ω) norm is derived. Numerical results based on finite element scheme are provided to validate theoretical estimates on time‐fractional nonlinear Fisher equation and Huxley equation.  相似文献

A finite difference method for fractional partial differential equation   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
An implicit unconditional stable difference scheme is presented for a kind of linear space–time fractional convection–diffusion equation. The equation is obtained from the classical integer order convection–diffusion equations with fractional order derivatives for both space and time. First-order consistency, unconditional stability, and first-order convergence of the method are proven using a novel shifted version of the classical Grünwald finite difference approximation for the fractional derivatives. A numerical example with known exact solution is also presented, and the behavior of the error is examined to verify the order of convergence.  相似文献

Since population behaviors possess the characteristic of history memory, we, in this paper, introduce time fractional‐order derivatives into a diffusive Gause‐type predator‐prey model, which is time fractional‐order reaction‐diffusion equations and a generalized form of its corresponding first‐derivative model. For this kind of model, we prove the existence and uniqueness of a global positive solution by using the theory of evolution equations and the comparison principle of time fractional‐order partial differential equations. Besides, we obtain the stability and Hopf bifurcation of the Gause‐type predator‐prey model in the forms of the time fractional‐order ordinary equations and of the time fractional‐order reaction‐diffusion equations, respectively. Our results show that the stable region of the parameters in these 2 models can be enlarged by the time fractional‐order derivatives. Some numerical simulations are made to verify our results.  相似文献

In this article, the sub‐equation method is presented for finding the exact solutions of a nonlinear fractional partial differential equations. For this, the fractional complex transformation method has been used to convert fractional‐order partial differential equation to ordinary differential equation. The fractional derivatives are described in Jumarie's the modified Riemann–Liouville sense. We apply to this method for the nonlinear time fractional differential equations. With the aid of symbolic computation, a variety of exact solutions for them are obtained. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In the present article, the authors have proposed a modified projective adaptive synchronization technique for fractional‐order chaotic systems. The adaptive projective synchronization controller and identification parameters law are developed on the basis of Lyapunov direct stability theory. The proposed method is successfully applied for the projective synchronization between fractional‐order hyperchaotic Lü system as drive system and fractional‐order hyperchaotic Lorenz chaotic system as response system. A comparison between the effects on synchronization time due to the presence of fractional‐order time derivatives for modified projective synchronization method and proposed modified adaptive projective synchronization technique is the key feature of the present article. Numerical simulation results, which are carried out using Adams–Boshforth–Moulton method show that the proposed technique is effective, convenient and also faster for projective synchronization of fractional‐order nonlinear dynamical systems. A well‐posedness result for a time‐shift invariant class of evolutionary operator equations involving material laws with fractional time‐integrals of order α ? ]0, 1[ is considered. The fractional derivatives are defined via a function calculus for the (time‐)derivative established as a normal operator in a suitable L2 type space. Employing causality, we show that the fractional derivatives thus obtained coincide with the Riemann‐Liouville fractional derivative. We exemplify our results by applications to a fractional Fokker‐Planck equation, equations describing super‐diffusion and sub‐diffusion processes, and a Kelvin‐Voigt type model in fractional visco‐elasticity. Moreover, we elaborate a suitable perspective to deal with initial boundary value problems. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This paper presents numerical solutions for the space‐ and time‐fractional Korteweg–de Vries equation (KdV for short) using the variational iteration method. The space‐ and time‐fractional derivatives are described in the Caputo sense. In this method, general Lagrange multipliers are introduced to construct correction functionals for the problems. The multipliers in the functionals can be identified optimally via variational theory. The iteration method, which produces the solutions in terms of convergent series with easily computable components, requiring no linearization or small perturbation. The numerical results show that the approach is easy to implement and accurate when applied to space‐ and time‐fractional KdV equations. The method introduces a promising tool for solving many space–time fractional partial differential equations. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Numer Methods Partial Differential Eq 2007  相似文献
