The main purpose of this work is to investigate the effects of cross-diffusion in a strongly coupled predator-prey system. By a linear stability analysis we find the conditions which allow a homogeneous steady state (stable for the kinetics) to become unstable through a Turing mechanism. In particular, it is shown that Turing instability of the reaction-diffusion system can disappear due to the presence of the cross-diffusion, which implies that the cross-diffusion induced stability can be regarded as the cross-stability of the corresponding reaction-diffusion system. Furthermore, we consider the existence and non-existence results concerning non-constant positive steady states (patterns) of the system. We demonstrate that cross-diffusion can create non-constant positive steady-state solutions. These results exhibit interesting and very different roles of the cross-diffusion in the formation and the disappearance of the Turing instability.  相似文献

We study the Dirichlet problem for the stationary Oseen equations around a rotating body in an exterior domain. Our main results are the existence and uniqueness of weak and very weak solutions satisfying appropriate Lq‐estimates. The uniqueness of very weak solutions is shown by the method of cut‐off functions with an anisotropic decay. Then our existence result for very weak solutions is deduced by a duality argument from the existence and estimates of strong solutions. From this and interior regularity of very weak solutions, we finally establish the complete D1,r‐result for weak solutions of the Oseen equations around a rotating body in an exterior domain, where 4/3<r <4. Here, D1,r is the homogeneous Sobolev space.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to prove the existence of a spatially periodic weak solution to the steady compressible isentropic MHD equations in R3 for any specific heat ratio γ 1.The proof is based on the weighted estimates of both pressure and kinetic energy for the approximate system which result in some higher integrability of the density, and the method of weak convergence.According to the author's knowledge,it is the first result that treats in three dimensions the existence of weak solutions to the steady compressible MHD equations with γ 1.  相似文献

Uniform boundedness and convergence of global solutions are proved for quasilinear parabolic systems with a single nonzero cross-diffusion in population dynamics. Gagliardo-Nirenberg type inequalities are used in the estimates of solutions in order to establish W12-bounds uniform in time. By using the uniform bound, convergence of solutions are established for systems with large diffusion coefficients in the weak competition case.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the Keller–Segel chemotaxis system with additional cross-diffusion term in the second equation. This system is consisting of a fully nonlinear reaction–diffusion equations with additional cross-diffusion. We establish the existence of weak solutions to the considered system by using Schauder’s fixed point theorem, a priori energy estimates and the compactness results.  相似文献

The paper studies the existence and non-existence of global weak solutions to the Cauchy problem for a class of quasi-linear wave equations with nonlinear damping and source terms. It proves that when α?max{m,p}, where m+1, α+1 and p+1 are, respectively, the growth orders of the nonlinear strain terms, the nonlinear damping term and the source term, under rather mild conditions on initial data, the Cauchy problem admits a global weak solution. Especially in the case of space dimension N=1, the weak solutions are regularized and so generalized and classical solution both prove to be unique. On the other hand, if 0?α<1, and the initial energy is negative, then under certain opposite conditions, any weak solution of the Cauchy problem blows up in finite time. And an example is shown.  相似文献

Uniform boundedness and convergence of global solutions are proved for cross-diffusion systems in population dynamics. Gagliardo-Nirenberg type inequalities are used in the estimates of solutions in order to establish W21-bounds uniform in time. In each step of estimates the contribution of the diffusion coefficients are emphasized, and it is concluded that the uniform bound remains independent of the growth of the diffusion coefficient in the system. Hence convergence of solutions are established for systems with large diffusion coefficients.  相似文献

The existence of solutions of elliptic and parabolic equations with data a measure has always been quite important for the general theory, a prominent example being the fundamental solutions of the linear theory. In nonlinear equations the existence of such solutions may find special obstacles, that can be either essential, or otherwise they may lead to more general concepts of solution. We give a particular review of results in the field of nonlinear diffusion. As a new contribution, we study in detail the case of logarithmic diffusion, associated with Ricci flow in the plane, where we can prove existence of measure-valued solutions. The surprising thing is that these solutions become classical after a finite time. In that general setting, the standard concept of weak solution is not adequate, but we can solve the initial-value problem for the logarithmic diffusion equation in the plane with bounded nonnegative measures as initial data in a suitable class of measure solutions. We prove that the problem is well-posed. The phenomenon of blow-down in finite time is precisely described: initial point masses diffuse into the medium and eventually disappear after a finite time Ti=Mi/4π.  相似文献

We establish the inviscid limit of the viscous shallow water equations to the Saint-Venant system. For the viscous equations, the viscosity terms are more degenerate when the shallow water is close to the bottom, in comparison with the classical Navier-Stokes equations for barotropic gases; thus, the analysis in our earlier work for the classical Navier-Stokes equations does not apply directly, which require new estimates to deal with the additional degeneracy. We first introduce a notion of entropy solutions to the viscous shallow water equations and develop an approach to establish the global existence of such solutions and their uniform energy-type estimates with respect to the viscosity coefficient. These uniform estimates yield the existence of measure-valued solutions to the Saint-Venant system generated by the viscous solutions. Based on the uniform energy-type estimates and the features of the Saint-Venant system, we further establish that the entropy dissipation measures of the viscous solutions for weak entropy-entropy flux pairs, generated by compactly supported C 2 test-functions, are confined in a compact set in H ?1, which yields that the measure-valued solutions are confined by the Tartar-Murat commutator relation. Then, the reduction theorem established in Chen and Perepelitsa [5] for the measure-valued solutions with unbounded support leads to the convergence of the viscous solutions to a finite-energy entropy solution of the Saint-Venant system with finite-energy initial data, which is relative with respect to the different end-states of the bottom topography of the shallow water at infinity. The analysis also applies to the inviscid limit problem for the Saint-Venant system in the presence of friction.

The paper studies the global existence, asymptotic behavior and blowup of solutions to the initial boundary value problem for a class of nonlinear wave equations with dissipative term. It proves that under rather mild conditions on nonlinear terms and initial data the above-mentioned problem admits a global weak solution and the solution decays exponentially to zero as t→+∞, respectively, in the states of large initial data and small initial energy. In particular, in the case of space dimension N=1, the weak solution is regularized to be a unique generalized solution. And if the conditions guaranteeing the global existence of weak solutions are not valid, then under the opposite conditions, the solutions of above-mentioned problem blow up in finite time. And an example is given.  相似文献

We consider a reaction-diffusion system which models a fast reversible reaction of type C 1 + C 2?C 3 between mobile reactants inside an isolated vessel. Assuming mass action kinetics, we study the limit when the reaction speed tends to infinity in case of unequal diffusion coefficients and prove convergence of a subsequence of solutions to a weak solution of an appropriate limiting pde-system, where the limiting problem turns out to be of cross-diffusion type. The proof combines the L 2-approach to reaction-diffusion systems having at most quadratic reaction terms with a thorough exploitation of the entropy functional for mass action systems. The limiting cross-diffusion system has unique local strong solutions for sufficiently regular initial data, while uniqueness of weak solutions is in general open but is shown to be valid under restrictions on the diffusivities.  相似文献

In this article, we give the existence of global L bounded entropy solutions to the Cauchy problem of a generalized n × n hyperbolic system of LeRoux type. The main difficulty lies in establishing some compactness estimates of the viscosity solutions because the system has been generalized from 2 × 2 to n × n and more linearly degenerate characteristic fields emerged, and the emergence of singularity in the region {v1=0} is another difficulty. We obtain the existence of the global weak solutions using the compensated compactness method coupled with the construction of entropy-entropy flux and BV estimates on viscous solutions.  相似文献

We investigate existence and uniqueness of solutions to semilinear parabolic and elliptic equations in bounded domains of the n-dimensional hyperbolic space (n?3). LpLq estimates for the semigroup generated by the Laplace-Beltrami operator are obtained and then used to prove existence and uniqueness results for parabolic problems. Moreover, under proper assumptions on the nonlinear function, we establish uniqueness of positive classical solutions and nonuniqueness of singular solutions of the elliptic problem; furthermore, for the corresponding semilinear parabolic problem, nonuniqueness of weak solutions is stated.  相似文献

We consider the Navier-Stokes equations with delays in Rn,2≤n≤4. We prove existence of weak solutions when the external forces contain some hereditary characteristics and uniqueness when n=2. Moreover, if the external forces satisfy a time decay condition we show that the solution decays at an algebraic rate.  相似文献

The global solutions in critical spaces to the multi-dimensional compressible viscoelastic flows are considered. The global existence of the Cauchy problem with initial data close to an equilibrium state is established in Besov spaces. Using uniform estimates for a hyperbolic-parabolic linear system with convection terms, we prove the global existence in the Besov space which is invariant with respect to the scaling of the associated equations. Several important estimates are achieved, including a smoothing effect on the velocity, and the L1-decay of the density and deformation gradient.  相似文献

The paper studies the existence and non-existence of global weak solutions to the Cauchy problem for the multi-dimensional Boussinesq type equation utt−Δu2uσ(u). It proves that the Cauchy problem admits a global weak solution under the assumptions that σC(R), σ(s) is of polynomial growth order, say p (>1), either , sR, where β>0 is a constant, or the initial data belong to a potential well. And the weak solution is regularized and the strong solution is unique when the space dimension N=1. In contrast, any weak solution of the Cauchy problem blows up in finite time under certain conditions. And two examples are shown.  相似文献

We establish the existence of nonnegative weak solutions to nonlinear reaction–diffusion system with cross-diffusion and nonstandard growth conditions subject to the homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions. We assume that the diffusion operators satisfy certain monotonicity condition and nonstandard growth conditions and prove that the existence of weak solutions using Galerkin's approximation technique.  相似文献
