In the present paper the authors show that iterations of the Hankel transform with Kν-transform is a constant multiple of the Widder transform. Using these iteration identities, several Parseval-Goldstein type theorems for these transforms are given. By making use of these results a number of new Goldstein type exchange identities are obtained for these and the Laplace transform. The identities proven in this paper are shown to give rise to useful corollaries for evaluating infinite integrals of special functions. Some examples are also given as illustration of the results presented here.  相似文献

Inspired by the classic γ-spline, we propose a method for constructing a G2 rational γ-spline curve that interpolates a given set of distinct ordered data-points (planar or spatial). The only input of our method is just these data-points. We also present a procedure to solve the key problem of determining the tension parameters γi which are computed in terms of exponential functions that determine the eccentricities of the common conic osculants at the junction points while keeping in geometrical agreement with data-points. This allows the resulting curve to be modified in the close vicinity of each data-point.  相似文献

Riesz transforms and conjugate Poisson integrals for multi-dimensional Laguerre function expansions of Hermite type with index α are defined and investigated. It is proved that for any multi-index α=(α1,…,αd) such that αi?−1/2, αi∉(−1/2,1/2), the appropriately defined Riesz transforms , j=1,2,…,d, are Calderón-Zygmund operators, hence their mapping properties follow from a general theory. Similar mapping results are obtained in one dimension, without excluding α∈(−1/2,1/2), by means of a local Calderón-Zygmund theory and weighted Hardy's inequalities. The conjugate Poisson integrals are shown to satisfy a system of Cauchy-Riemann type equations and to recover the Riesz-Laguerre transforms on the boundary. The two specific values of α, (−1/2,…,−1/2) and (1/2,…,1/2), are distinguished since then a connection with Riesz transforms for multi-dimensional Hermite function expansions is established.  相似文献

In the present paper we develop more efficient recursive formulae for the evaluation of the t-order cumulative function Γth(x) and the t-order tail probability Λth(x) of the class of compound Poisson distributions in the case where the derivative of the probability generating function of the claim amounts can be written as a ratio of two polynomials. These efficient recursions can be applied for the exact evaluation of the probability function (given by De Pril [De Pril, N., 1986a. Improved recursions for some compound Poisson distributions. Insurance Math. Econom. 5, 129-132]), distribution function, tail probability, stop-loss premiums and t-order moments of stop-loss transforms of compound Poisson distributions. Also, efficient recursive algorithms are given for the evaluation of higher-order moments and r-order factorial moments about any point for this class of compound Poisson distributions. Finally, several examples of discrete claim size distributions belonging to this class are also given.  相似文献

The q-analogue of Legendre inversions is established and generalized to bilateral sequences. They are employed to investigate the dual relations of three basic formulae due to Jackson and Bailey, on balanced 3?2-series, well-poised 8?7-series and bilateral 6ψ6-series. Several terminating well-poised series identities are consequently derived, including the q-Dixon formulae on terminating 3ψ3-series and two terminating well-poised 5ψ5-series identities due to [F.H. Jackson, Certain q-identities, Quart. J. Math. (Oxford) 12 (1941) 167-172; W.N. Bailey, On the analogue of Dixon’s theorem for bilateral basic hypergeometric series, Quart. J. Math. (Oxford) 1 (1950) 318-320].  相似文献

The general question, “When is the product of Fréchet spaces Fréchet?” really depends on the questions of when a product of α4 Fréchet spaces (also known as strongly Fréchet or countably bisequential spaces) is α4, and when it is Fréchet. Two subclasses of the class of strongly Fréchet spaces shed much light on these questions. These are the class of α3 Fréchet spaces and its subclass of 0-bisequential spaces. The latter is closed under countable products, the former not even under finite products. A number of fundamental results and open problems are recalled, some further highlighting the difference between being α3 and Fréchet and being 0-bisequential.  相似文献

We consider the symmetric schemes in Boundary Value Methods (BVMs) applied to delay differential equations y(t)=ay(t)+by(t-τ) with real coefficients a and b. If the numerical solution tends to zero whenever the exact solution does, the symmetric scheme with (k1+m,k2)-boundary conditions is called τk1,k2(0)-stable. Three families of symmetric schemes, namely the Extended Trapezoidal Rules of first (ETRs) and second (ETR2s) kind, and the Top Order Methods (TOMs), are considered in this paper.By using the boundary locus technology, the delay-dependent stability region of the symmetric schemes are analyzed and their boundaries are found. Then by using a necessary and sufficient condition, the considered symmetric schemes are proved to be τν,ν-1(0)-stable.  相似文献

If (Σ,X) is a measurable space and X a Banach space we investigate the X-inheritance of copies of ? in certain subspaces Δ(Σ,X) of bvca(Σ,X), the Banach space of all X-valued countable additive measures of bounded variation equipped with the variation norm. Among the consequences of our main theorem we get a theorem of J. Mendoza on the X-inheritance of copies of ? in the Bochner space L1(μ,X) and other of the author on the X-inheritance of copies of ? in bvca(Σ,X).  相似文献

We describe a connection between the combinatorics of generators for certain groups and the combinatorics of Helly's 1913 theorem on convex sets. We use this connection to prove fixed point theorems for actions of these groups on nonpositively curved metric spaces. These results are encoded in a property that we introduce called “property FAr”, which reduces to Serre's property FA when r=1. The method applies to S-arithmetic groups in higher Q-rank, to simplex reflection groups (including some nonarithmetic ones), and to higher rank Chevalley groups over polynomial and other rings (for example SLn(Z[x1,…,xd]), n>2).  相似文献

We give explicit constructions of sets S with the property that for each integer k, there are at most g solutions to k=s1+s2,siS; such sets are called Sidon sets if g=2 and generalized Sidon sets if g?3. We extend to generalized Sidon sets the Sidon-set constructions of Singer, Bose, and Ruzsa. We also further optimize Kolountzakis’ idea of interleaving several copies of a Sidon set, extending the improvements of Cilleruelo, Ruzsa and Trujillo, Jia, and Habsieger and Plagne. The resulting constructions yield the largest known generalized Sidon sets in virtually all cases.  相似文献

Let G=(V,E) be a graph and let r≥1 be an integer. For a set DV, define Nr[x]={yV:d(x,y)≤r} and Dr(x)=Nr[x]∩D, where d(x,y) denotes the number of edges in any shortest path between x and y. D is known as an r-identifying code (r-locating-dominating set, respectively), if for all vertices xV (xV?D, respectively), Dr(x) are all nonempty and different. Roberts and Roberts [D.L. Roberts, F.S. Roberts, Locating sensors in paths and cycles: the case of 2-identifying codes, European Journal of Combinatorics 29 (2008) 72-82] provided complete results for the paths and cycles when r=2. In this paper, we provide results for a remaining open case in cycles and complete results in paths for r-identifying codes; we also give complete results for 2-locating-dominating sets in cycles, which completes the results of Bertrand et al. [N. Bertrand, I. Charon, O. Hudry, A. Lobstein, Identifying and locating-dominating codes on chains and cycles, European Journal of Combinatorics 25 (2004) 969-987].  相似文献

An edge cut X of a connected graph G is a k-restricted edge cut if G-X is disconnected and every component of G-X has at least k vertices. Additionally, if the deletion of a minimum k-restricted edge cut isolates a connected component of k vertices, then the graph is said to be super-λk. In this paper, several sufficient conditions yielding super-λk graphs are given in terms of the girth and the diameter.  相似文献

A sequence 〈d1,d2,…,dn〉 of non-negative integers is graphical if it is the degree sequence of some graph, that is, there exists a graph G on n vertices whose ith vertex has degree di, for 1≤in. The notion of a graphical sequence has a natural reformulation and generalization in terms of factors of complete graphs. If H=(V,E) is a graph and g and f are integer-valued functions on the vertex set V, then a (g,f)-factor of H is a subgraph G=(V,F) of H whose degree at each vertex vV lies in the interval [g(v),f(v)]. Thus, a (0,1)-factor is just a matching of H and a (1, 1)-factor is a perfect matching of H. If H is complete then a (g,f)-factor realizes a degree sequence that is consistent with the sequence of intervals 〈[g(v1),f(v1)],[g(v2),f(v2)],…,[g(vn),f(vn)]〉.Graphical sequences have been extensively studied and admit several elegant characterizations. We are interested in extending these characterizations to non-graphical sequences by introducing a natural measure of “near-graphical”. We do this in the context of minimally deficient (g,f)-factors of complete graphs. Our main result is a simple linear-time greedy algorithm for constructing minimally deficient (g,f)-factors in complete graphs that generalizes the method of Hakimi and Havel (for constructing (f,f)-factors in complete graphs, when possible). It has the added advantage of producing a certificate of minimum deficiency (through a generalization of the Erdös-Gallai characterization of (f,f)-factors in complete graphs) at no additional cost.  相似文献

The existence of catΩ(Ω) positive solutions for the p-Laplacian system with convex and Sobolev critical nonlinearities is obtained by some standard variational methods, whose key is to construct homotopies between Ω and levels of the functional Jλ,μ, and some analytical techniques.  相似文献

Positive Quaternion Kähler Manifolds are Riemannian manifolds with holonomy contained in Sp(n)Sp(1) and with positive scalar curvature. Conjecturally, they are symmetric spaces. In this article we are mainly concerned with Positive Quaternion Kähler Manifolds M satisfying b4(M)=1. Generalising a result of Galicki and Salamon we prove that M4n in this case is homothetic to a quaternionic projective space if 2≠n?6.  相似文献

A subset X of an abelian group Γ, written additively, is a Sidon set of orderh if whenever {(ai,mi):iI} and {(bj,nj):jJ} are multisets of size h with elements in X and ∑iImiai=∑jJnjbj, then {(ai,mi):iI}={(bj,nj):jJ}. The set X is a generalized Sidon set of order(h,k) if whenever two such multisets have the same sum, then their multiset intersection has size at least k. It is proved that if X is a generalized Sidon set of order (2h−1,h−1), then the maximal Sidon sets of order h contained in X have the same cardinality. Moreover, X is a matroid where the independent subsets of X are the Sidon sets of order h.  相似文献

Given a graph G, a proper labelingf of G is a one-to-one function from V(G) onto {1,2,…,|V(G)|}. For a proper labeling f of G, the profile widthwf(v) of a vertex v is the minimum value of f(v)−f(x), where x belongs to the closed neighborhood of v. The profile of a proper labelingfofG, denoted by Pf(G), is the sum of all the wf(v), where vV(G). The profile ofG is the minimum value of Pf(G), where f runs over all proper labeling of G. In this paper, we show that if the vertices of a graph G can be ordered to satisfy a special neighborhood property, then so can the graph G×Qn. This can be used to determine the profile of Qn and Km×Qn.  相似文献

Given a communication network (modelled as a graph), a message is transmitted to at one vertex transmits to all other vertices in such a way that each message transmission takes one time unit and each vertex participates in at most one transmission to its neighbor per time step. We call this process broadcasting. For t≥0, let Bt(n) be the number of edges in the sparsest possible graph on n vertices in which broadcasting can be accomplished in ⌈log2n⌉+t steps regardless of the originator. Shastri [A. Shastri, Time-relaxed broadcasting in communication networks, Discrete Applied mathematics 83 (1998) 263-278] conjectured that B1(22)=24 and B2(n)=n+1 for 25≤n≤29. In this paper, we show that B1(22)=24, B2(n)=n for 25≤n≤28 and 37≤n≤44, B2(n)≤n+1 for 45≤n≤49, B2(n)≤n+4 for 50≤n≤56, and B3(n)=n for 55≤n≤64.  相似文献

Let G be a graph and d(u) denote the degree of a vertex u in G. The zeroth-order general Randi? index 0Rα(G) of the graph G is defined as ∑uV(G)d(u)α, where the summation goes over all vertices of G and α is an arbitrary real number. In this paper we correct the proof of the main Theorem 3.5 of the paper by Hu et al. [Y. Hu, X. Li, Y. Shi, T. Xu, Connected (n,m)-graphs with minimum and maximum zeroth-order general Randi? index, Discrete Appl. Math. 155 (8) (2007) 1044-1054] and give a more general Theorem. We finally characterize 1 for α<0 the connected G(n,m)-graphs with maximum value 0Rα(G(n,m)), where G(n,m) is a simple connected graph with n vertices and m edges.  相似文献

We extend the notion of L2-B-discrepancy introduced in [E. Novak, H. Wo?niakowski, L2 discrepancy and multivariate integration, in: W.W.L. Chen, W.T. Gowers, H. Halberstam, W.M. Schmidt, and R.C. Vaughan (Eds.), Analytic Number Theory. Essays in Honour of Klaus Roth, Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, 2009, pp. 359-388] to what we shall call weighted geometric L2-discrepancy. This extension enables us to consider weights in order to moderate the importance of different groups of variables, as well as to consider volume measures different from the Lebesgue measure and classes of test sets different from measurable subsets of Euclidean spaces. We relate the weighted geometric L2-discrepancy to numerical integration defined over weighted reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces and settle in this way an open problem posed by Novak and Wo?niakowski.Furthermore, we prove an upper bound for the numerical integration error for cubature formulas that use admissible sample points. The set of admissible sample points may actually be a subset of the integration domain of measure zero. We illustrate that particularly in infinite-dimensional numerical integration it is crucial to distinguish between the whole integration domain and the set of those sample points that actually can be used by the algorithms.  相似文献
