Finite element analyses were conducted in order to evaluate the mode I and mode II stress intensity factors for inclined edge cracks under cyclic contact load under rolling and rolling–sliding condition. The SIF range depends on crack orientation, crack length to Hertzian contact zone half-width ratio, friction between the crack faces and friction on the contact surface. The results were combined in two compact functions that determine the ΔKI and ΔKII values. The crack propagation mode and direction were investigated using both the maximum stress criterion and the minimum strain energy density criterion. The results are displayed in graph form, which allows a fast evaluation of the crack growth condition.  相似文献

列车车轮踏面表层金属滚动接触疲劳是影响列车运行安全性和舒适性的核心科学问题. 借助金相显微镜、扫描电镜、透射电镜和显微硬度计,通过开展列车车轮材料的标准滚动接触疲劳试验,将标准接触疲劳样品的损伤行为与实际服役车轮的损伤行为对比分析,研究了列车车轮的滚动接触疲劳裂纹评价方法. 结果表明:车轮表层金属接触疲劳开裂是表层金属累积塑性变形损伤的结果;标准滚动接触疲劳样品剥离坑的深度恰好等于硬化层的深度,实际服役车轮剥离坑的深度小于硬化层的深度;将车轮表面的滚动接触疲劳裂纹命名为“三角形指向性裂纹”;初步建立了车轮表面滚动接触疲劳损伤程度的定量评价方法.   相似文献

The paper describes a two-dimensional computational model for simulating surface initiated crack growth in the lubricated contact area that leads to surface pitting of mechanical components. The model assumes size and orientation of the initial crack which is subjected to contact loading conditions, accounting for the elasto-hydrodynamic-lubrication effects and tangential loading due to sliding. The influence of a lubricating fluid, driven into the crack by hydraulic mechanism, is also considered. The minimum strain energy density criterion is used to analyze crack propagation with the aim of the finite element analysis. The model is applied to a real pitting problem of a gear. The results for pit sizes correlate well with those observed in experimental testing.  相似文献

The interaction of time harmonic antiplane shear waves and multiple cracks embedded in a plate is studied by using the dislocation model and images method. The effect of the wave number, incident angle and relative positions of the cracks and free surface are presented. Resonance vibrations and the relaxation phenomenon of the layer between the cracks and the free surface are discussed in detail. With the approach, the strain energy density factors (SEDFs) of edge cracks can also be derived by assuming one of the crack tips to be nearly in contact with the free surface.  相似文献

In this paper, two-dimensional plane strain finite element analyses of the active repair for cracked structures by using multi-layered piezoelectric patches have been studied. The reductions of stress intensity factors and strain energy density factor at the crack tips are obtained. Also, the repair voltages for various conditions are obtained for estimating the repair performances. Lower repair voltage is a better choice because it is low-energy-consuming and safer for the operation. From the results of numerical fracture mechanics, it shows the crack contact conditions must be considered in the analysis. However, the friction on the crack has few effects on the repair performances for this mode-I dominated case. The better design choices for the piezoelectric patch are as follows: increasing the layer number, increasing the patch length, and reducing the patch thickness. In additions, it is not a good idea to use higher input voltage that is larger than the repair voltage because it will enlarge the crack open near the crack tip. Too long patch length has no advantage for the active repair.  相似文献

摩擦学转变结构层是轮轨系统滚动接触过程中形成的典型损伤特征,其发生、发展及其演变过程对轮轨界面失效具有重要的影响. 本文作者分析了轮轨界面摩擦学转变结构层[TTS,包括白色浸蚀层(WEL)、棕色浸蚀层(BEL)以及塑性变形层(PDL)]的典型特征和微观结构,重点讨论了当前轮轨界面TTS的研究现状及在形成机制上的分歧和争论,并介绍了近年来国内外学者应用先进分析测试手段开展TTS研究的相关进展;归纳总结了TTS对轮轨界面损伤的主要贡献,最后重申了TTS在轮轨摩擦学研究中的重要性并提出了今后研究的发展方向.   相似文献

利用双盘滚动摩擦磨损试验机进行了贝氏体车轮钢的滚动磨损试验,采用扫描电子显微镜(SEM)、电子背散射衍射(EBSD)分析不同接触应力条件下贝氏体车轮钢次表层微观组织演变. 结果表明:在滚动磨损条件下,磨损机制由黏着磨损转变为疲劳磨损,增大接触应力对黏着磨损阶段的磨损量影响不大,但会显著增加疲劳磨损阶段的磨损量;贝氏体车轮钢在塑性变形的过程中,贝氏体铁素板条中位错逐渐增值、先累积形成小角度晶界,而后形成大角度晶界,使贝氏体铁素体发生细化;接触应力的大小影响表层组织的演变,当接触应力增至1 150 MPa时,晶粒细化为超细等轴晶,继续增加接触应力,组织变化并不明显. 接触应力大小会影响贝氏体车轮钢的表面硬度. 接触应力增加使贝氏体车轮钢的表面硬度增高,硬化层深度增大.   相似文献

利用WR-1轮轨滚动磨损试验机,结合安定极限理论研究了干态下影响车轮材料表面疲劳裂纹萌生与扩展的因素,探究了表面疲劳损伤形成机理和演变规律.结果表明:随垂向力、横向力和冲角增大,表面疲劳裂纹越容易萌生扩展;冲角对表面疲劳裂纹的萌生与扩展起着重要作用,大冲角下斜线状表面疲劳裂纹萌生扩展明显;只有横向力而不存在冲角时,试样表面不会出现斜线状表面疲劳损伤;车轮试样在周期性循环载荷作用下在表面先形成塑性流动,然后沿轮轨表面切向力方向扩展成斜线状的表面疲劳起皮剥落损伤;垂向力是影响表面裂纹萌生时间的重要因素之一.  相似文献

Non-local theory solution for in-plane shear of through crack   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
A non-local theory of elasticity is applied to obtain the plane strain stress and displacement field for a through crack under in-plane shear by using Schmidt's method. Unlike the classical elasticity solution, a lattice parameter enters into the problem that make the stresses finite at crack tip. Both the angular variations of the circumferential stress and strain energy density function are examined to associate their stationary value with locations of possible fracture initiation. The former criterion predicted a crack initiation angle of 54° from the plane of shear for the non-local solution as compared with about 75° for the classical elasticity solution. The latter criterion based on energy density yields a crack initiation angle of 80° for a Poisson's ratio of 0.28. This is much closer to the value that is predicted by the classical crack tips solution of elasticity.  相似文献

回转支承构件是重型机械的重要基础元件,其失效往往导致灾难性的设备事故和人身事故以及巨大的经济损失.及时、充分地了解回转支承构件牵引滚动接触应力分布特点,对于保证整机安全生产和提高企业经济效益具有非常重要的意义.本文将回转支承构件接触模型简化为轴线平行的圆柱体二维平面应变模型,从接触力学理论中McEwen关于轴线平行的圆柱体二维法向接触理论出发,重点讨论牵引滚动与常规法向接触状态的切向分布力的相同点和不同点,从而推导出牵引滚动接触状态下接触区应力场各应力分量解析式,将McEw-en法向理论公式推广到法、切向复合分布力综合作用下.在此基础上,探讨了表面拉应力与摩擦系数的关系,摩擦系数越大则表面拉应力水平越高.最后,运用材料力学二向应力状态受力分析方法,计算了接触应力场最大剪应力位置、大小和方向角与深度的关系,发现与无表面摩擦情况相比,最大主剪应力发生位置变浅,幅值反而变小.  相似文献

传统的结合面研究多基于光滑刚性平面与等效粗糙表面接触假设,忽略了结合面上微凸体侧向接触及相邻微凸体之间的相互作用,这导致理论模型与实际结合面存在较大出入.针对承受法向静、动态力的机械结合面,从微观上研究了微凸体侧向接触及相互作用的接触能耗.将法向静、动态力分解为法向分力和切向分力,获取弹性/弹塑性/塑性阶段考虑微凸体侧接触及相互作用的加、卸载法向分力-变形和切向分力-位移的关系.通过力的合成定理,从而获取加、卸载法向合力与总变形之间的关系,由于法向分力产生的塑性变形及切向分力产生的摩擦,导致加载、卸载法向合力-总变形曲线存在迟滞回线.通过对一个加、卸载周期内的法向合力-总变形曲线积分,获得一个周期的微凸体接触能耗,包括应变能耗及摩擦能耗.仿真分析表明:微凸体在3个阶段的能耗均随变形的增大而非线性增大.微凸体侧向接触角度越大,能耗越大,且在弹性阶段最为明显.在弹性阶段,仅存在侧向的摩擦能耗,故结合面在低载荷作用下必须采用双粗糙表面假设.在塑性阶段,由于微凸体接触能耗为应变能耗,且接触角对其能耗影响甚微,故结合面在大载荷作用下可采用单平面假设对其进行研究.相对于KE和Etsion模型,本文提出的模型与Bartier的实验结果更吻合.  相似文献

The problem of crack initiation and growth in contact problems is studied by the strain energy density theory. This is accomplished by considering each point of the body as a possible source of crack initiation. The direction of crack initiation is determined by calculating the minimum value of the strain energy density function along a circular core area surrounding the point. The crack initiates from the point with the maximum of the local minimum values of the strain energy density function. Considered is a circular disc subjected to two equal and opposite forces and a circular cylindrical body pressed by a cylindrical punch. The stress field for the first case is obtained from the classical elasticity solution, while a finite element code is used for the second case. The locations of fracture initiation and the subsequent fracture trajectories for fast unstable fracture are determined.  相似文献

Crack initiation angle, under mixed mode loading at several strain rates, is analysed using an experimental–numerical approach. The physical phenomenon for the problem at hand is influenced by the local and global conditions. One of such factors is the strain rate at the crack tip. For this purpose, PMMA plates with centred angled cracks under mixed mode loading were tested. The strain rate at the neighbourhood of the crack tip before crack propagation was evaluated. Considering that this material is strain rate sensitive, the numerical models were calibrated with the modulus of elasticity measured in tension tests at the observed strain rates. Numerical evaluations were performed with the finite element method in conjunction with the volume energy density criterion. An improvement in the evaluation of the crack propagation angle was observed. In order to complete the analysis, the crack initiation angle was also evaluated with the strain energy density factor S, considering the mechanical properties of PMMA, as evaluated at the observed strain rates, and the stress intensity factors k1 and k2. Results are in agreement with those observed experimentally.  相似文献

An elastic–plastic finite element model is developed for 3D orthogonal cutting of discontinuous chips. The tool is P20 while the workpiece is made of 6-4 brass. Examined under the condition of low cutting speed are the initial crack location, the direction of crack growth and variations of discrete chips. These predictions are made possible by application of the strain energy density (SED) theory. The initial crack was formed above the tool tip and grew progressively along the stationary values of the SED function until the trajectory intersects with the free surface. The plastic deformation and friction result in a high equivalent stress in the secondary deformation zone of the first longitudinal chip. Stresses are also high at the location of crack initiation. The chip node near the tool face is sensitive to the contact of the tool face. As more residual stress prevails after the first longitudinal cut, degradation of the workpiece surface prevails and should be accounted for.  相似文献

The conditions of force interaction and friction on the contact between bodies are related to the intermediate layer structure in the contact region, i.e., to the appearance of fracture products or intensive deformation in this region. The subsequent interaction between the bodies occurs through elements of the intermediate layer structure. 针对轮-轨滚动接触的短波长波浪形磨损现象,采用有限元法分析了三维实体模型的接触状态,通过计算分析了高频力作用下接触表面的塑性变形过程.结果表明:在一定的运动条件下,由于重复滚压作用,接触表面发生硬化并达到安定极限状态,生成有规律的短波长变形;钢轨表面塑性变形受枕木间距的影响;就具有随动硬化特性的钢轨材料而言,当摩擦系数μ<0.3时,屈服现象发生在材料表层下方;随着摩擦系数的增大,接触表面的切向力增大,安定极限的临界接触压力Po降低,屈服点移向接触表面,材料失效加快.  相似文献

Linear elastic criterion of the inclined semi-elliptical crack growth direction is elaborated on the basis of the strain energy density theory. Stress and displacement fields are presented for higher order terms asymptotic expansion. Solutions for elastic stress intensity factors are accounting for the function describing of the crack tip fields near the free surface of plate. The mixed mode behavior of crack growth direction angle along the semi-elliptical crack front for different combination of biaxial loading, inclination crack angle and surface flaw geometry is determined.  相似文献
