We deal with anti-periodic problems for nonlinear evolution equations with nonmonotone perturbations. J. Y. Park and T. G. Ha [Nonlinear Anal., 2008, 68: 747-767; 2009, 71: 3203-3217] investigated the existence of anti-periodic solutions for hemivariational inequalities with a pseudomonotone operator. In this note, we point out that the methods used there are not suitable for the proof of the existence of anti-periodic solutions for hemivariational inequalities and we shall give a straightforward approach to handle these problems. The main tools in our study are the maximal monotone property of the derivative operator with antiperiodic conditions and the surjectivity result for L-pseudomonotone operators.  相似文献

In this work, we study the anti-periodic problem for a nonlinear evolution inclusion where the nonlinear part is an odd maximal monotone mapping and the forcing term is an anti-periodic mapping. We deal with the existence of weak solutions of double degenerate quasilinear parabolic inequalities with a Signorini-Dirichlet-Neumann type mixed boundary condition, which may degenerate in certain subset of the boundary or on a segment in the interior of the domain and in time. We consider an abstract first-order evolutionary inclusion in a reflexive Banach space. The inclusion contains the sum of L-pseudomonotone operator and a maximal monotone operator. We provide an existence theorem which is a generalization of former results known in the literature. Next, we apply our result to the case of nonlinear variational–hemivariational inequalities considered in the setting of an evolution triple of spaces. We specify the multivalued operators in the problem and obtain existence results for several classes of variational–hemivariational inequality problems. Finally, we illustrate our existence result and treat a class of quasilinear parabolic problems under nonmonotone and multivalued flux boundary conditions.  相似文献

In this paper we state some nonmonotone line search strategies for unconstrained optimization algorithms. Abstracting from the concrete line search strategy we prove two general convergence results. Using this theory we can show the global convergence of the BFGS method with nonmonotone line search strategy. In contrast to some former results about nonmonotone line search strategies, both our convergence results and their proofs are natural generalizations of known results for the monotone case.  相似文献

Following a recent work of H. Okochi in the case of evolution equations generated by subdifferential operators in a real Hilbert space, we point out that many quasi-autonomous evolution equations of non monotone type associated to odd non linear operators have some anti-periodic solutions provided the forcing term is anti-periodic. This comes from the fact that the space of anti-periodic functions is transversal to the kernel of the linear part and stable under the action of odd non linear operators. The proofs of our results combine strong a priori estimates which depend very little on the non-linearities with an application of Schauder's fixed point theorem to some related dissipative equations.  相似文献

The smoothing-type algorithms, which are in general designed based on some monotone line search, have been successfully applied to solve the second-order cone programming (denoted by SOCP). In this paper, we propose a nonmonotone smoothing Newton algorithm for solving the SOCP. Under suitable assumptions, we show that the proposed algorithm is globally and locally quadratically convergent. To compare with the existing smoothing-type algorithms for the SOCP, our algorithm has the following special properties: (i) it is based on a new smoothing function of the vector-valued natural residual function; (ii) it uses a nonmonotone line search scheme which contains the usual monotone line search as a special case. Preliminary numerical results demonstrate that the smoothing-type algorithm using the nonmonotone line search is promising for solving the SOCP.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the fourth-order elliptic boundary value problems with nonmonotone nonlinear function. The existence and uniqueness of a solution is proven by the method of upper and lower solutions. A monotone iteration is developed so that the iteration sequence converges monotonically to a maximal solution or a minimal solution, depending on whether the initial iteration is an upper solution or a lower solution.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a smoothing algorithm for solving the monotone symmetric cone complementarity problems (SCCP for short) with a nonmonotone line search. We show that the nonmonotone algorithm is globally convergent under an assumption that the solution set of the problem concerned is nonempty. Such an assumption is weaker than those given in most existing algorithms for solving optimization problems over symmetric cones. We also prove that the solution obtained by the algorithm is a maximally complementary solution to the monotone SCCP under some assumptions. We first establish a new comparison principle, and then obtain the existence of extremal solutions by upper-lower solution and monotone iterative techniques. In this paper, we consider evolution hemivariational inequalities of second order with a time-dependent pseudomonotone operator and nonmonotone multivalued perturbations. We present the existence of solutions for such inequality. The proof profits from a result on the surjectivity of operators of pseudomonotone type. In this paper, we combine the nonmonotone and adaptive techniques with trust region method for unconstrained minimization problems. We set a new ratio of the actual descent and predicted descent. Then, instead of the monotone sequence, the nonmonotone sequence of function values are employed. With the adaptive technique, the radius of trust region △k can be adjusted automatically to improve the efficiency of trust region methods. By means of the Bunch-Parlett factorization, we construct a method with indefinite dogleg path for solving the trust region subproblem which can handle the indefinite approximate Hessian Bk. The convergence properties of the algorithm are established. Finally, detailed numerical results are reported to show that our algorithm is efficient.  相似文献

We investigate analytically the effect of perturbations on an integrable oscillator in one degree of freedom whose frequency shows a maximum as a function of the energy, i.e. a system with nonmonotone twist. The perturbation depends on three parameters: one parameter describes friction such that the Jacobian is constant and less than one. A second and a third describe the variation of the frequency and of the strength of the driving force respectively. The main result is the appearance of two chains of saddle node pairs in the phase portrait. This contrasts with the bifurcation of one chain of periodic orbits in the case of perturbations of monotone twist systems. This result is obtained for a mapping, but it is demonstrated that the same formalism and results apply for time continuous systems as well. In particular we derive an explicit expression for the stroboscopic mapping of a particle in a potential well, driven by a periodic force and under influence of friction, thus giving a clear physical interpretation to the bifurcation parameters in the mapping.  相似文献

We study a new class of elliptic variational-hemivariational inequalities arising in the modelling of contact problems for elastic ideally locking materials. The contact is described by the Signorini unilateral contact condition and the friction is modelled by the nonmonotone multivalued subdifferential condition which depends on the slip. The problem is governed by a nonlinear elasticity operator,the subdifferential of the indicator function of a convex set which describes the locking constraints and a nonconvex locally Lipschitz friction potential. The result on existence and uniqueness of solution to the inequality is shown. The proof is based on a surjectivity result for maximal monotone and pseudomonotone operators combined with the application of the Banach contraction principle.  相似文献
