While CH–π interactions with target proteins are crucial determinants for the affinity of arguably every drug molecule, no method exists to directly measure the strength of individual CH–π interactions in drug–protein complexes. Herein, we present a fast and reliable methodology called PI (π interactions) by NMR, which can differentiate the strength of protein–ligand CH–π interactions in solution. By combining selective amino‐acid side‐chain labeling with 1H‐13C NMR, we are able to identify specific protein protons of side‐chains engaged in CH–π interactions with aromatic ring systems of a ligand, based solely on 1H chemical‐shift values of the interacting protein aromatic ring protons. The information encoded in the chemical shifts induced by such interactions serves as a proxy for the strength of each individual CH–π interaction. PI by NMR changes the paradigm by which chemists can optimize the potency of drug candidates: direct determination of individual π interactions rather than averaged measures of all interactions.  相似文献

We report the synthesis and X‐ray characterization of the N6‐benzyl‐N6‐methyladenine ligand (L) and three metal complexes, namely [Zn(HL)Cl3]·H2O ( 1 ), [Cd(HL)2Cl4] ( 2 ) and [H2L]2[Cd3(μ‐L)2(μ‐Cl)4Cl6]·3H2O ( 3 ). Complex 1 consists of the 7H‐adenine tautomer protonated at N3 and coordinated to a tetrahedral Zn(II) metal centre through N9. The octahedral Cd(II) in complex 2 is N9‐coordinated to two N6‐benzyl‐N6‐methyladeninium ligands (7H‐tautomer protonated at N3) that occupy apical positions and four chlorido ligands form the basal plane. Compound 3 corresponds to a trinuclear Cd(II) complex, where the central Cd atom is six‐coordinated to two bridging μ‐L and four bridging μ‐Cl ligands. The other two Cd atoms are six‐coordinated to three terminal chlorido ligands, to two bridging μ‐Cl ligands and to the bridging μ‐L through N3. Essentially, the coordination patterns, degree of protonation and tautomeric forms of the nucleobase dominate the solid‐state architectures of 1 – 3 . Additionally, the hydrogen‐bonding interactions produced by the endocyclic N atoms and NH groups stabilize high‐dimensional‐order supramolecular assemblies. Moreover, energetically strong anion–π and lone pair (lp)–π interactions are important in constructing the final solid‐state architectures in 1 – 3 . We have studied the non‐covalent interactions energetically using density functional theory calculations and rationalized the interactions using molecular electrostatic potential surfaces and Bader's theory of atoms in molecules. We have particularly analysed cooperative lp–π and anion–π interactions in 1 and π+–π+ interactions in 3 .  相似文献

In this study, several lone pair–π and aerogen–π complexes between XeO3 and XeF4 and aromatic rings with different electronic natures (benzene, trifluorobenzene, and hexafluorobenzene) are optimized at the RI‐MP2/aug‐cc‐pVTZ level of theory. All complexes are characterized as true minima by frequency analysis calculations. The donor/acceptor role of the ring in the complexes is analyzed using the natural bond orbital computational tool, showing a remarkable contribution of orbital interactions to the global stabilization of the aerogen–π complexes. Finally, Bader's AIM analysis of several complexes is performed to further characterize the lone pair–π and aerogen–π interactions.  相似文献

The molecular structure of the benzimidazol‐2‐ylidene–PdCl2–pyridine‐type PEPPSI (pyridine‐enhanced precatalyst, preparation, stabilization and initiation) complex {1,3‐bis[2‐(diisopropylamino)ethyl]benzimidazol‐2‐ylidene‐κC2}dichlorido(pyridine‐κN)palladium(II), [PdCl2(C5H5N)(C23H40N4)], has been characterized by elemental analysis, IR and NMR spectroscopy, and natural bond orbital (NBO) and charge decomposition analysis (CDA). Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) searches were used to understand the structural characteristics of the PEPPSI complexes in comparison with the usual N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) complexes. The presence of weak C—H…Cl‐type hydrogen‐bond and π–π stacking interactions between benzene rings were verified using NCI plots and Hirshfeld surface analysis. The preferred method in the CDA of PEPPSI complexes is to separate their geometries into only two fragments, i.e. the bulky NHC ligand and the remaining fragment. In this study, the geometry of the PEPPSI complex is separated into five fragments, namely benzimidazol‐2‐ylidene (Bimy), two chlorides, pyridine (Py) and the PdII ion. Thus, the individual roles of the Pd atom and the Py ligand in the donation and back‐donation mechanisms have been clearly revealed. The NHC ligand in the PEPPSI complex in this study acts as a strong σ‐donor with a considerable amount of π‐back‐donation from Pd to Ccarbene. The electron‐poor character of PdII is supported by π‐back‐donation from the Pd centre and the weakness of the Pd—N(Py) bond. According to CSD searches, Bimy ligands in PEPPSI complexes have a stronger σ‐donating ability than imidazol‐2‐ylidene ligands in PEPPSI complexes.  相似文献

The interplay between cation–π and coinage‐metal–oxygen interactions are investigated in the ternary systems N???PhCCM???O (N=Li+, Na+, Mg2+; M=Ag, Au; O=water, methanol, ethanol). A synergetic effect is observed when cation–π and coinage‐metal–oxygen interactions coexist in the same complex. The cation–π interaction in most triads has a greater enhancing effect on the coinage‐metal–oxygen interaction. This effect is analyzed in terms of the binding distance, interaction energy, and electrostatic potential in the complexes. Furthermore, the formation, strength, and nature of both the cation–π and coinage‐metal–oxygen interactions can be understood in terms of electrostatic potential and energy decomposition. In addition, experimental evidence for the coexistence of both interactions is obtained from the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD).  相似文献

A panel of six new arene Ru (II)‐NHC complexes 2a‐f , (NHC = 1,3‐diethyl‐(5,6‐dimethyl)benzimidazolin‐2‐ylidene 1a , 1,3‐dicyclohexylmethyl‐(5,6‐dimethyl)benzimidazolin‐2‐ylidene 1b and 1,3‐dibenzyl‐(5,6‐dimethyl)benzimidazolin‐2‐ylidene 1c ) were synthesized from the transmetallation reaction of Ag‐NHC with [(η6‐arene)RuCl2]2 and characterized. The ruthenium (II)‐NHC complexes 2a‐f were developed as effective catalysts for α‐alkylation of ketones and synthesis of bioactive quinoline using primary/amino alcohols as coupling partners respectively. The reactions were performed with 0.5 mol% catalyst load in 8 h under aerobic condition and the maximum yield was up to 96%. Besides, the different alkyl wingtips on NHC and arene moieties were studied to differentiate the catalytic robustness of the complexes in the transformations.  相似文献

Anion–π interactions have been widely studied as new noncovalent driving forces in supramolecular chemistry. However, self‐assembly induced by anion–π interactions is still largely unexplored. Herein we report the formation of supramolecular amphiphiles through anion–π interactions, and the subsequent formation of self‐assembled vesicles in water. With the π receptor 1 as the host and anionic amphiphiles, such as sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS), sodium laurate (SLA), and sodium methyl dodecylphosphonate (SDP), as guests, the sequential formation of host–guest supramolecular amphiphiles and self‐assembled vesicles was demonstrated by SEM, TEM, DLS, and XRD techniques. The intrinsic anion–π interactions between 1 and the anionic amphiphiles were confirmed by crystal diffraction, HRMS analysis, and DFT calculations. Furthermore, the controlled disassembly of the vesicles was promoted by competing anions, such as NO3?, Cl?, and Br?, or by changing the pH value of the medium.  相似文献

The new triplesalophen ligand H6kruseBr was synthesized as a variation of the triplesalophen ligands H6baronR by replacing a phenyl by a methyl group at the terminal ketimine in order to allow closer contacts of trinuclear complexes due to less steric hindrance by the smaller methyl group. The ligand H6kruseBr was used to synthesize the trinuclear complex [(kruseBr)NiII3], which is insoluble in organic solvents despite the coordinating solvent pyridine. Recrystallization from pyridine results in the complex [(kruseBr){Ni2(Ni(py)2)}], which was characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. Two NiII ions are four‐coordinate by the salophen‐like subunits while the third NiII ion is six‐coordinate by two additional pyridine donors. The analysis of the molecular and crystal structure in comparison to that of NiII3 complexes of (baronR)6– reveals that the methyl group in [(kruseBr){Ni2(Ni(py)2)}] results in less ligand folding and in closer contact distance of two NiII3 complexes by ππ interactions of 3.2 Å. This indicates that trinuclear complexes of H6kruseBr are more suitable than complexes of H6baronR as molecular building blocks for the anticipated synthesis of nonanuclear single‐molecule magnets.  相似文献

Several bis(triazolium)‐based receptors have been synthesized as chemosensors for anion recognition. The central naphthalene core features two aryltriazolium side‐arms. NMR experiments revealed differences between the binding modes of the two triazolium rings: one triazolium ring acts as a hydrogen‐bond donor, the other as an anion–π receptor. Receptors 92+?2BF4 ? (C6H5), 112+?2BF4 ? (4‐NO2?C6H4), and 132+?2BF4? (ferrocenyl) bind HP2O73? anions in a mixed‐binding mode that features a combination of hydrogen‐bonding and anion–π interactions and results in strong binding. On the other hand, receptor 102+?2 BF4 ? (4‐CH3O?C6H4) only displays combined Csp2?H/anion–π interactions between the two arms of the receptors and the bound anion rather than triazolium (CH)+???anion hydrogen bonding. All receptors undergo a downfield shift of the triazolium protons, as well as the inner naphthalene protons, in the presence of H2PO4? anions. That suggests that only hydrogen‐bonding interactions exist between the binding site and the bound anion, and involve a combination of cationic (triazolium) and neutral (naphthalene) C?H donor interactions. Theoretical calculations relate the electronic structure of the substituent on the aromatic group with the interaction energies and provide a minimum‐energy conformation for all the complexes that explains their measured properties.  相似文献

Tropolone long has served as a model system for unraveling the ubiquitous phenomena of proton transfer and hydrogen bonding. This molecule, which juxtaposes ketonic, hydroxylic, and aromatic functionalities in a framework of minimal complexity, also has provided a versatile platform for investigating the synergism among competing intermolecular forces, including those generated by hydrogen bonding and aryl coupling. Small members of the troponoid family typically produce crystals that are stabilized strongly by pervasive π–π, C—H…π, or ion–π interactions. The organic salt (TrOH·iBA) formed by a facile proton‐transfer reaction between tropolone (TrOH) and isobutylamine (iBA), namely isobutylammonium 7‐oxocyclohepta‐1,3,5‐trien‐1‐olate, C4H12N+·C7H5O2, has been investigated by X‐ray crystallography, with complementary quantum‐chemical and statistical‐database analyses serving to elucidate the nature of attendant intermolecular interactions and their synergistic effects upon lattice‐packing phenomena. The crystal structure deduced from low‐temperature diffraction measurements displays extensive hydrogen‐bonding networks, yet shows little evidence of the aryl forces (viz. π–π, C—H…π, and ion–π interactions) that typically dominate this class of compounds. Density functional calculations performed with and without the imposition of periodic boundary conditions (the latter entailing isolated subunits) documented the specificity and directionality of noncovalent interactions occurring between the proton‐donating and proton‐accepting sites of TrOH and iBA, as well as the absence of aromatic coupling mediated by the seven‐membered ring of TrOH. A statistical comparison of the structural parameters extracted for key hydrogen‐bond linkages to those reported for 44 previously known crystals that support similar binding motifs revealed TrOH·iBA to possess the shortest donor–acceptor distances of any troponoid‐based complex, combined with unambiguous signatures of enhanced proton‐delocalization processes that putatively stabilize the corresponding crystalline lattice and facilitate its surprisingly rapid formation under ambient conditions.  相似文献

A detailed experimental and DFT study (PBE level) of the reaction of [Pd(η3‐C3H5)(tmiy)(PR3)]BF4 (tmiy=tetramethylimidazolin‐2‐ylidene, PR3=phosphane), precursors to monoligated Pd0 species, with aryl electrophiles yielding 2‐arylimidazolium salt is reported. Experiments establish that an autocatalytic ligand transfer mechanism is preferred over PdIV and σ‐bond metathesis pathways, and that transmetalation is the rate‐determining step. Calculations indicate that the key step involves the concerted exchange of NHC and iodo ligands between two different PdII complexes. This is corroborated by experimental results showing the slower reaction of complexes containing the bulkier dipdmiy (dipdmiy = diisopropyldimethylimidazolin‐2‐ylidene).  相似文献

It is well known that alkynes act as π‐acids in the formation of complexes with metals. We found unprecedented attractive Au–π interactions in diacetylene‐modified [core+exo]‐type [Au8]4+ clusters. The 4‐phenyl‐1,3‐butadiynyl‐modified cluster has unusually short Au–Cα distances in the crystal structure, revealing the presence of attractive interactions between the coordinating C≡C moieties and the neighboring bitetrahedral Au6 core, which is further supported by IR and NMR spectra. Such weak interactions are not found in mono‐acetylene‐modified clusters, which indicates that they are specific for diacetylenic ligands. The attractive Au–π interactions are likely associated with the low energy of the π* orbital in the diacetylenic moieties, into which the valence electrons of the gold core may be back donated. The [Au8]4+ clusters show clear red‐shifts of >10 nm with respect to the corresponding mono‐acetylenic clusters in UV/Vis absorption bands, which indicates substantial electronic perturbation effects of the Au–π interactions.  相似文献

The new N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) precursors 4, ‐dicyano‐1, ‐dimesityl‐ ( 9 ) and 4, 5‐dicyano‐1, 3‐dineopentyl‐2‐(pentafluorophenyl)imidazoline ( 14 ) were synthesized. The structure of 9 could be determined by X‐ray crystallography. With the 2‐pentafluorophenyl‐substituted imidazolines 9 and 14 , the [AgCl(NHC)], [RhCl(COD)(NHC)], and [RhCl(CO)2(NHC)] complexes [NHC = 4, 5‐dicyano‐1, 3‐dimesitylimidazol‐2‐ylidene ( 3 ) and 4, 5‐dicyano‐1, 3‐dineopentylimidazol‐2‐ylidene ( 4 )] were obtained. Crystal structures of [AgCl( 3 )] ( 15 ), [RhCl(COD)( 3 )] ( 17 ), [RhCl(COD)( 4 )] ( 18 ), and [RhCl(CO)2( 3 )] ( 19 ) were solved and with the crystal data of 19 , the percent buried volume ( %Vbur) of 31.8(±0.1) % was determined for NHC 3 . Infrared spectra of the imidazolines 9 and 14 and of the complexes 15 – 20 were recorded and the CO stretching frequencies of complexes 19 and 20 were used to determine the Tolman electronic parameters of the newly obtained NHCs 3 (TEP: 2060 cm–1) and 4 (TEP: 2061 cm–1), thus proving that 1, 3‐substitution of maleonitrile‐NHCs does not have a significant effect for the high π‐acceptor strength of these carbenes.  相似文献

Thermolysis of [Cp*Ru(PPh2(CH2)PPh2)BH2(L2)] 1 (Cp*=η5‐C5Me5; L=C7H4NS2), with terminal alkynes led to the formation of η4‐σ,π‐borataallyl complexes [Cp*Ru(μ‐H)B{R‐C=CH2}(L)2] ( 2 a – c ) and η2‐vinylborane complexes [Cp*Ru(R‐C=CH2)BH(L)2] ( 3 a – c ) ( 2 a , 3 a : R=Ph; 2 b , 3 b : R=COOCH3; 2 c , 3 c : R=p‐CH3‐C6H4; L=C7H4NS2) through hydroboration reaction. Ruthenium and the HBCC unit of the vinylborane moiety in 2 a – c are linked by a unique η4‐interaction. Conversions of 1 into 3 a – c proceed through the formation of intermediates 2 a – c . Furthermore, in an attempt to expand the library of these novel complexes, chemistry of σ‐borane complex [Cp*RuCO(μ‐H)BH2L] 4 (L=C7H4NS2) was investigated with both internal and terminal alkynes. Interestingly, under photolytic conditions, 4 reacts with methyl propiolate to generate the η4‐σ,π‐borataallyl complexes [Cp*Ru(μ‐H)BH{R‐C=CH2}(L)] 5 and [Cp*Ru(μ‐H)BH{HC=CH‐R}(L)] 6 (R=COOCH3; L=C7H4NS2) by Markovnikov and anti‐Markovnikov hydroboration. In an extension, photolysis of 4 in the presence of dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate yielded η4‐σ,π‐borataallyl complex [Cp*Ru(μ‐H)BH{R‐C=CH‐R}(L)] 7 (R=COOCH3; L=C7H4NS2). An agostic interaction was also found to be present in 2 a – c and 5 – 7 , which is rare among the borataallyl complexes. All the new compounds have been characterized in solution by IR, 1H, 11B, 13C NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and the structural types were unequivocally established by crystallographic analysis of 2 b , 3 a – c and 5 – 7 . DFT calculations were performed to evaluate possible bonding and electronic structures of the new compounds.  相似文献

Cationic, two‐coordinate triphenylphosphine–gold(I)–π complexes of the form [(PPh3)Au(π ligand)]+ SbF6? (π ligand=4‐methylstyrene, 1? SbF6), 2‐methyl‐2‐butene ( 3? SbF6), 3‐hexyne ( 6? SbF6), 1,3‐cyclohexadiene ( 7? SbF6), 3‐methyl‐1,2‐butadiene ( 8? SbF6), and 1,7‐diphenyl‐3,4‐heptadiene ( 10? SbF6) were generated in situ from reaction of [(PPh3)AuCl], AgSbF6, and π ligand at ?78 °C and were characterized by low‐temperature, multinuclear NMR spectroscopy without isolation. The π ligands of these complexes were both weakly bound and kinetically labile and underwent facile intermolecular exchange with free ligand (ΔG≈9 kcal mol?1 in the case of 6? SbF6) and competitive displacement by weak σ donors, such as trifluoromethane sulfonate. Triphenylphosphine–gold(I)–π complexes were thermally unstable and decomposed above ?20 °C to form the bis(triphenylphosphine) gold cation [(PPh3)2Au]+SbF6? ( 2? SbF6).  相似文献

Of central importance in chemistry and biology, enolate chemistry is an attractive topic to elaborate on possible contributions of anion–π interactions to catalysis. To demonstrate the existence of such contributions, experimental evidence for the stabilization of not only anions but also anionic intermediates and transition states on π‐acidic aromatic surfaces is decisive. To tackle this challenge for enolate chemistry with maximal precision and minimal uncertainty, malonate dilactones are covalently positioned on the π‐acidic surface of naphthalenediimides (NDIs). Their presence is directly visible in the upfield shifts of the α‐protons in the 1H NMR spectra. The reactivity of these protons on π‐acidic surfaces is measured by hydrogen–deuterium (H–D) exchange for 11 different examples, excluding controls. The velocity of H–D exchange increases with π acidity (NDI core substituents: SO2R>SOR>H>OR>OR/NR2>SR>NR2). The H–D exchange kinetics vary with the structure of the enolate (malonates>methylmalonates, dilactones>dithiolactones). Moreover, they depend on the distance to the π surface (bridge length: 11–13 atoms). Most importantly, H–D exchange depends strongly on the chirality of the π surface (chiral sulfoxides as core substituents; the crystal structure of the enantiopure (R,R,P)‐macrocycle is reported). For maximal π acidity, transition‐state stabilizations up to ?18.8 kJ mol?1 are obtained for H–D exchange. The Brønsted acidity of the enols increases strongly with π acidity of the aromatic surface, the lowest measured pKa=10.9 calculates to a ΔpKa=?5.5. Corresponding to the deprotonation of arginine residues in neutral water, considered as “impossible” in biology, the found enolate–π interactions are very important. The strong dependence of enolate stabilization on the unprecedented seven‐component π‐acidity gradient over almost 1 eV demonstrates quantitatively that such important anion–π activities can be expected only from strong enough π acids.  相似文献

Eight novel palladium N‐heterocyclic carbene (Pd‐NHC) complexes were synthesized by the reaction of chloro 1,3‐dialkylbenzimidazolin‐2‐ylidene silver(I) complexes with bis(benzonitrile)palladium(II) chloride in dichloromethane. These eight Pd‐NHC complexes are as follows: bis[1‐phenyl‐3‐(2,4,6‐trimethylbenzyl)benzimidazol‐2‐ylidene]dichloropalladium(II), bis[1‐phenyl‐3‐(2,3,5,6‐tetramethylbenzyl)benzimidazol‐2‐ylidene]dichloropalladium(II), bis[1‐phenyl‐3‐(2,3,4,5,6‐pentamethylbenzyl)benzimidazol‐2‐ylidene]dichloropalladium(II), bis[1‐phenyl‐3‐(3,4,5‐trimethoxybenzyl)benzimidazol‐2‐ylidene]dichloropalladium(II), bis[1‐(2‐diethylaminoethyl)‐3‐(3‐methylbenzyl)benzimidazol‐2‐ylidene]dichloropalladium(II), bis[1‐(2‐diethylaminoethyl)‐3‐(2,3,5,6‐tetramethylbenzyl)benzimidazol‐2‐ylidene]dichloropalladium(II), bis[1‐(2‐morpholinoethyl)‐3‐naphthalenomethylbenzimidazol‐2‐ylidene]dichloropalladium(II) and bis[1‐(2‐morpholinoethyl)‐3‐(2‐methylbenzyl)benzimidazol‐2‐ylidene]dichloropalladium(II). Also, these synthesized complexes were fully characterized using Fourier transform infrared, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopic methods and elemental analysis techniques. These synthesized novel Pd‐NHC complexes were tested as catalysts in the direct arylation of 2‐n‐butylthiophene, 2‐n‐butylfuran and 2‐isopropylthiazole with various aryl bromides at 130°C for 1 h. The complexes showed very good catalytic activities in these reactions. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

1,3‐Bis(pentafluorophenyl‐imino)isoindoline (AF) and 3,6‐di‐tert‐butyl‐1,8‐bis(pentafluorophenyl)‐9H‐carbazole (BF) have been designed as preorganized anion receptors that exploit anion–π interactions, and their ability to bind chloride and bromide in various solvents has been evaluated. Both receptors AF and BF are neutral but provide a central NH hydrogen bond that directs the halide anion into a preorganized clamp of the two electron‐deficient appended arenes. Crystal structures of host–guest complexes of AF with DMSO, Cl?, or Br? (AF:DMSO, AF:Cl?, and ${{\rm A}{{{\rm F}\hfill \atop 2\hfill}}}$ :Br?) reveal that in all cases the guest is located in the cleft between the perfluorinated flaps, but NMR spectroscopy shows a more complex situation in solution because of E,Z/Z,Z isomerism of the host. In the case of the more rigid receptor BF, Job plots evidence 1:1 complex formation with Cl? and Br?, and association constants up to 960 M ?1 have been determined depending on the solvent. Crystal structures of BF and BF:DMSO visualize the distinct preorganization of the host for anion–π interactions. The reference compounds 1,3‐bis(2‐pyrimidylimino)isoindoline (AN) and 3,6‐di‐tert‐butyl‐1,8‐diphenyl‐9H‐carbazole (BH), which lack the perfluorinated flaps, do not show any indication of anion binding under the same conditions. A detailed computational analysis of the receptors AF and BF and their host–guest complexes with Cl? or Br? was carried out to quantify the interactions in play. Local correlation methods were applied, allowing for a decomposition of the ring–anion interactions. The latter were found to contribute significantly to the stabilization of these complexes (about half of the total energy). Compounds AF and BF represent rare examples of neutral receptors that are well preorganized for exploiting anion–π interactions, and rare examples of receptors for which the individual contributions to the binding energy have been quantified.  相似文献

This study probes the nature of noncovalent interactions, such as cation–π, metal ion–lone pair (M–LP), hydrogen bonding (HB), charge‐assisted hydrogen bonding (CAHB), and π–π interactions, using energy decomposition schemes—density functional theory (DFT)–symmetry‐adapted perturbation theory and reduced variational space. Among cation–π complexes, the polarization and electrostatic components are the major contributors to the interaction energy (IE) for metal ion–π complexes, while for onium ion–π complexes ( , , , and ) the dispersion component is prominent. For M–LP complexes, the electrostatic component contributes more to the IE except the dicationic metal ion complexes with H2S and PH3 where the polarization component dominates. Although electrostatic component dominates for the HB and CAHB complexes, dispersion is predominant in π–π complexes.Copyright © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

The interaction between a noble gas atom and an aromatic π‐electron system, which mainly originates from the London dispersion force, is very weak and has not attracted enough attention yet. Herein, we reported a type of notably enhanced aerogen–π interaction between cation–π systems and noble gas atoms. The binding strength of a divalent cation–π system with a xenon atom is comparable to a moderate hydrogen bond (up to ca. 7 kcal mol?1), whereas krypton and argon atoms produce slightly weaker interactions. Energy‐decomposition analysis reveals that the induction interaction is responsible for the stabilization of divalent cation–π?Xe species besides the dispersion interaction. Our results might be helpful to increase the understanding of some unsolved mysteries of aerogens.  相似文献
