Spherical plate-like structures are used in pressure vessels, spherical domes of power plants, and in many other industrial applications. For non-destructive evaluation of such spherical structures, the mechanics of elastic wave propagation in spherical curved plates must be understood. The current literature shows some valuable studies on Rayleigh surface wave propagation in isotropic solids with spherical boundaries. However, the guided wave propagation problem in an anisotropic spherical curved plate, which has not been studied before, is solved for the first time in this paper.The wave propagation, in both isotropic and anisotropic spherical curved plates, is investigated. The differential equations of motion and the stress-free boundary conditions on the inner and outer surfaces of a hollow sphere are approximately solved by a general solution technique. This solution technique was successfully utilized by the authors for solving the wave propagation problem in cylindrical plates, in their earlier works. Dispersion curves for spherical plates made of isotropic aluminum, steel, and anisotropic composite material are presented as well.  相似文献

We solve the bending problem for an anisotropic plate with flaws like smooth curved nonoverlapping through cracks and rigid inclusions. The problem is solved by the method of Lekhnitskii complex potentials specified as Cauchy type integrals over the flaw contours with an unknown integrand density function. We use the Sokhotskii—Plemelj formulas to reduce the boundary-value problem to a system of singular integral equations with the additional conditions that the displacements in the plate are single-valued when going around the cut contours and the equilibrium conditions for stress-free rigid inclusions. After the singular integrals are approximated by the Gauss-Chebyshev quadrature formulas, the problem is reduced to solving a system of linear algebraic equations. We study the local stress distribution near flaw tips. We analyze the mutual influence of flaws on the stress distribution character near their vertices and compare the well-known solutions for isotropic plates with the solutions obtained by passing to the limit in the anisotropy parameters (“weakly anisotropic material”) and by using the method proposed here.  相似文献

A dynamic method is described for determining the linear buckling loads of elastic, perfectly flat, rectangular plates. The proposed method does not require the application of in-plane loads; it requires only vibrational excitation of the plate. The buckling load is determined from the measured normal modes of vibration. The method is applicable to isotropic as well as anisotropic plates with any type of edge support. The accuracy of the dynamic method was evaluated by tests in which buckling loads of aluminum and graphite fiber-reinforced-epoxy composite plates were determined both by the dynamic method and by imposing static in-plane loads on the plates. 与传播波模态不同,衰逝波模态波数为纯虚数或复数,它们随传播距离呈指数或阻尼式衰减。复数根描述的衰逝波对结构缺陷形状和尺寸的导波检测具有重要作用,但其求解却是非常困难的,通常要借助于各种迭代技术。本文提出一种计算求解衰逝波问题的改进的Legendre正交多项式方法,该方法可将复杂的变系数微分方程组计算转换为特征值求解问题,无需迭代便能计算得到包含实波数域、虚波数域和复波数域的完整的频散曲线。通过具体算例验证了提出方法的正确性。应用提出方法计算了不同梯度圆柱板中的衰逝导波,绘制了三维频散曲线,研究了不同径厚比和梯度场对衰逝导波频散的影响,分析了衰逝导波的位移和应力分布,讨论了衰逝导波的传播特性。  相似文献

This paper presents an analytical method for the analysis of the dynamic behavior of damaged plates. The proposed approach allows the derivation of mode shapes and corresponding curvature modes for plates with various kinds of defects. Damage is modeled as a localized reduction in the plate thickness. Both point and line defects are considered to model notches or line cracks and delaminations in the plate. Small thickness reductions are considered so that the dynamic behavior of the damage plate can be analyzed through perturbations with respect to the undamaged modes. Results are presented to demonstrate the sensitivity of the curvature modes with respect to the considered low damage levels. Also, the curvature modes are used for the estimation of the strain energy of the plate and for the formulation of a damage index which can be used to provide damage location and extent information.  相似文献

The present work concerns the investigation of the two-dimensional direct scattering problem of time-harmonic elastic waves from bounded anisotropic components of isotropic media. We obtain a Fourier series expansion for the elastic field in the interior of the anisotropic inclusion based on a suitable diagonalization applied to the underlying differential system and a plane wave expansion of the sought field, provided that the inclusion exhibits orthotropic symmetry. This expansion is then exploited to acquire a semi-analytical solution to the associated elastic transmission scattering problem. Numerical results for several geometric configurations and varying degree of anisotropy are presented revealing the pronounced effect of the specific anisotropic character on the scattering mechanism.  相似文献

An efficient method to compute the scattering of a guided wave by a localized defect, in an elastic waveguide of infinite extent and bounded cross section, is considered. It relies on the use of perfectly matched layers (PML) to reduce the problem to a bounded portion of the guide, allowing for a classical finite element discretization. The difficulty here comes from the existence of backward propagating modes, which are not correctly handled by the PML. We propose a simple strategy, based on finite-dimensional linear algebra arguments and using the knowledge of the modes, to recover a correct approximation to the solution with a low additional cost compared to the standard PML approach. Numerical experiments are presented in the two-dimensional case involving Rayleigh–Lamb modes.  相似文献

选用更具广泛性的层状横观各向同性弹性地基模型,来分析四边自由各向异性矩形地基板的弯曲解析解。先基于直角坐标下横观各向同性体的静力胡海昌通解,借助双重傅里叶变换及矩阵传递法,获得层状横观各向同性地基的静力位移场和应力场;然后将异性薄板的弯曲控制方程,与基于层状横观各向同性弹性地基的位移解建立的板与地基变形协调方程相结合,先按对称性分解,再用三角级数法,得出层状横观各向同性弹性地基上四边自由各向异性矩形薄板的弯曲解析解,包括地基反力、板的挠度及板的内力的解析表达式。克服了数值法的弊端,取消了对地基反力的假设,且避免了矩阵指数函数的计算;同时考虑了地基的层状性及板和地基的各向异性,从而得到板的内力及地基反力更切实际的分布规律。算例结果与文献的有限元结果吻合良好,证明本文方法是切实可行的。  相似文献

Recently, Chen and Gao [Chen, S., Gao, H., 2007. Bio-inspired mechanics of reversible adhesion: orientation-dependent adhesion strength for non-slipping adhesive contact with transversely isotropic elastic materials. J. Mech. Phys. solids 55, 1001–1015] studied the problem of a rigid cylinder in non-slipping adhesive contact with a transversely isotropic solid subjected to an inclined pulling force. An implicit assumption made in their study was that the contact region remains symmetric with respect to the center of the cylinder. This assumption is, however, not self-consistent because the resulting energy release rates at two contact edges, which are supposed to be identical, actually differ from each other. Here we revisit the original problem of Chen and Gao and derive the correct solution by removing this problematic assumption. The corrected solution provides a proper insight into the concept of orientation-dependent adhesion strength in anisotropic elastic solids.  相似文献

在石油、天然气、化工和石化行业中,许多大型容器和储罐常用来储存带有腐蚀性液体或气体,其内壁极易被腐蚀变薄而影响其使用寿命。为了激励出合适的导波模态检测容器内壁的隐蔽腐蚀缺陷,本文对一块2.76mm厚并蚀刻了一个人工腐蚀缺陷的钢板进行了检测。实验中,采用了一发一收法,并分别激励了对称模态S1和反对称模态A1对该缺陷进行了检测。利用短时傅立叶变换对接收到的时域信号进行了时频分析,得到各导波模态的模态转换,频散和衰减结果。通过对比可以看出,S1模态更适用于检测隐蔽腐蚀缺陷。结果显示,通过选取合适的模态,导波检测方法有可能用于大型容器和储罐内壁腐蚀缺陷的检测。  相似文献

General electromechanical reciprocity relations are applied to the calculation of elastic wave scattering coefficients observed at the electrical terminals of the transducer used in performing an experiment. Both direct backscatter and two transducer geometries are considered. The general formulation is applicable to anisotropic media, but is applied as an example to Rayleigh wave scattering from a surface-breaking crack on an isotropic substrate. This method of analysis is applicable to both the Born and quasistatic approximations and is valid for bulk, Rayleigh and plate wave transducers using any single transduction mechanism.  相似文献

The problem of thermal stresses in an infinite isotropic plate rigidly bonded with an unsymmetrical, polygon-shaped reinforcement is analyzed within large deflection plate theory, using the equivalent inclusion method [J. Thermal Stresses 26 (2003) 457]. For simplicity, the plate assumes to be cooled down uniformly from a stress free temperature. The earlier approach proposed in [J. Thermal Stresses 26 (2003) 457] has been extended in the present paper to include geometric nonlinearity. Extension of the method to address residual thermal stresses associated with curing of the adhesive is also discussed.  相似文献

This paper presents a theoretical study of transient ultrasonic guided waves generated by concentrated heating of the outer surface of an infinite anisotropic hollow circular cylinder. Generalized thermoelastic theory proposed by Lord and Shulman is adopted to model the dynamic thermoelastic behavior of the cylinder. The concentrated heat source model used is to represent heating due to a pulsed laser beam, which is focused on the outer surface of the cylinder. A semi-analytical finite element (SAFE) method is employed to evaluate guided wave modes in the cylinder. Using integral transform techniques, the modal wave forms are obtained in frequency and wave number domains. Time histories of the propagating modes are then calculated by applying inverse Fourier transformation in the time domain. Numerical results showing the dispersion curves for the group velocities of the propagating modes and transient radial displacements are presented. For this purpose it is assumed that the cylinder is made of transversely isotropic silicon nitride (Si3N4). Attention is focused on the propagation characteristics of longitudinal and flexural modes separately.  相似文献

The asymptotic problem of a kinked interfacial crack in dissimilar anisotropic materials under antiplane deformation is investigated. The linear transformation method for the problem of the anisotropic bimaterial with a straight interface is proposed. The stress intensity factor for the kinked interfacial crack in the anisotropic composite is obtained from the solution of the transformed problem of the kinked interfacial crack in the isotropic bimaterial based on the linear transformation method. The effects of the material parameters as well as the kink angle on the stress intensity factor are discussed from numerical results of the stress intensity factor. The finite element analysis is carried out to verify the stress intensity factor obtained by using the linear transformation. The influence of the material orientations on the stress intensity factor is investigated for the kinked crack in the bimaterial consisting of dissimilar inclined orthotropic materials.  相似文献

A method has been developed and proven using highly focused acoustic beams that allows for the rapid reconstruction of scattering coefficients of a thin anisotropic plate immersed in liquid. In a single bistatic coordinate scan, nearly the entire range of wave number within the spatial and temporal frequency bandwidth of the transducer can be reconstructed. This paper also reports the development of a multiple-source complex transducer point model that includes all extrinsic factors and permits prediction of the wave number-frequency (kf) domain result obtained from a scan of focused transducers in a pitch-catch reflection or transmission arrangement. Extensive experiments have been performed to test the method and the model and to demonstrate transducer beam effects on the kf domain results, leading to a very efficient method for mapping major portions of the guided wave dispersion spectrum in thin-plate media. As a demonstration of the technique, an estimate of material elastic properties in an isotropic and a transversely-isotropic plate is reported, making only minimal use of the highly redundant dispersion data. Acoustic velocities inferred from these experiments show a disparity of less than 3% from contact acoustic estimates of the same parameters in either plate.  相似文献

针对强厚度矩形板四边简支情况,论文根据状态变量法思想,基于三维弹性理论基本方程,以3个位移分量及3个应力分量按双三角级数展开,将三维弹性力学控制方程转化为常微分方程边值问题.尽管一些各向异性弹性矩形厚板早已由状态空间法获得分析解,可是各向同性厚板的分析解至今难以获得,因为状态空间解法中特征方程有重根问题而不易于收敛.论文提出采用插值矩阵法直接对常微分方程进行求解,获得各向同性矩形厚板在四边简支边界条件下三维理论的位移和应力解,并与有限元精细结果进行比较,证明了本文解的准确性.  相似文献

The questions of a dynamical stability and instability of soliton-like solutions (solitary pulses) of the Hamiltonian equations, describing planar waves in nonlinear elastic composites are considered, both in the presence as well as in the absence of the anisotropy. In the anisotropic case one has the slow and the fast two-parametric soliton families on the background of the quiescent state. In the absence of the anisotropy these two families coalesce into the unique three parametric family. It was shown recently that solitary pulses of the slow family in the anisotropic composite and pulses in the isotropic composite are stable when their speeds lie inside a certain range, the so-called range of stability. In the present paper, on the basis of numerical solving of the Cauchy problem for the basic governing equations, the classification is given of the types of instability of solitary pulses from the fast family for all range of speeds as well as in the case of the slow family and in the isotropic case, when the speeds of the pulses lie without the range of stability. The first type of instability is the blow-up instability for the slow anisotropic and isotropic pulses, living without the range of stability and also for high amplitude fast anisotropic pulses. The second type of instability is the instability resulting in energy exchange between the components of strain tensor for low amplitude fast anisotropic solitary pulses. The reasons of the both types of instability are discussed in detail.The interaction between the pairs of solitary pulses of different nature is investigated both analytically as well as numerically. It is found out that solitary pulses having the different polarization, i.e. different sign of amplitudes, can form bound states, oscillating about the common center, subjected to a motion with a constant speed, approximately equal to the average of speeds of two pulses when they are far apart.  相似文献
