Good quality single crystals of Ni2+, Co2+ ions doped Bisthiourea Cadmium Chloride (BTCC) are some of the excellent and efficient non‐linear optical materials grown from aqueous solution by slow evaporation method. The lattice parameters of the grown crystals are determined by single crystal X‐ray analysis. UV spectral analyses on these samples reveal the improved transparency of the doped crystals ascertaining the inclusion of metal ion in the lattice. FTIR spectral analysis carried out on the materials confirm the presence of functional groups. Dielectric measurements reveal that the dielectric constant of pure and doped crystals decreases with increase of frequency. (© 2008 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

Single crystals of BTZC have been grown by slow evaporation of saturated aqueous solution at room temperature. The lattice parameters of the grown crystals have been determined by single crystal X‐ray diffraction technique. The UV‐Vis‐NIR transmittance spectrum has been recorded in the range 200‐2000 nm. The FT‐IR spectrum has been recorded in the range 400‐4000 cm‐1 and the spectral bands have been compared with similar thiourea complexes.  相似文献

Single crystals of organic nonlinear optical material of pure, Cu2+ and Mg2+ doped L‐arginine acetate (LAA) were successfully grown by slow evaporation method at room temperature. The UV‐Vis‐NIR spectra of pure and doped LAA indicate that these crystals possess a wide optical transmission window from 240‐1600 nm. Non‐linear optical studies reveal that the SHG efficiency of LAA is nearly three times that of KDP. The dielectric response of the samples was studied in the frequency region 100 Hz to 2 MHz and the influence of Cu2+ and Mg2+ substitution on the dielectric behaviour had been investigated. Photoconductivity study proves that both pure and Cu2+ and Mg2+ doped LAA crystal exhibit positive photoconductivity. It is evident from the Vickers hardness study that the hardness of the crystal decreases with increasing load both for pure and doped samples. ESR studies confirmed the incorporation of Cu2+ into LAA and the value of g‐factor was found to be 2.1654. (© 2007 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

Good optical grade single crystals of pure, Cd2+ and Mg2+ doped Manganese Mercury Thiyocyanate (MMTC) crystals are grown by slow solvent evaporation technique at room temperature. Single crystal XRD studies reveal that the incorporation of metallic dopants has not changed the structure of the parent crystal. The SHG efficiencies of the pure and doped samples of MMTC are measured by Kurtz Perry powder method and the results are compared with urea. It is evident from microhardness study that the presence of dopants has increased the mechanical strength of MMTC crystal. The TG/DTG studies confirm that the thermal decomposition temperatures of pure (353°C), Mg2+ doped (363°C) and Cd2+ doped (365°C) MMTC are relatively high when compared to other NLO crystals of the same family. Single crystals of GdCa4O(BO3)3 (GdCOB) pure and doped with Eu concentration of 1 and 4 at% were grown by the Czochralski and micropulling‐down methods. The distribution of Eu ions in GdCOB crystals was uniform. The substitutions of Eu3+ in Gd, Ca(1) and Ca(2) cation sites and eventually formation Eu2+ have been investigated. The spectroscopic properties of crystals are compared with the properties of nanopowders obtained by sol‐gel method. Radioluminescence spectra of undoped GdCOB crystal show the characteristic emission of Gd3+ at about 312 nm, whereas this emission dramatically decreases in Eu‐doped crystals upon X‐ray excitation, as well as in Eu‐doped nanopowders excited in vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) region. The VUV excitation in the range 125‐333 nm for Eu‐doped samples leads to strong emission in red coming from the 5D0 multiplet of Eu3+, only. In the photoluminescence decay kinetics of 312 nm emissions substantial shortening and departure for single exponential decay in Eu‐doped samples is clearly observed. Higher Eu doping results in further acceleration of the decay. In undoped GdCOB crystal, the lifetime of the Gd3+ 6P7/2 multiplet is 2.79 ms. The Eu3+ 5D0 decay kinetics monitored at 613 nm are rather constant. Numerical fitting of fully exponential curves, reveals lifetimes 2.7 ms for nanopowder and 2.5 ms for single crystal. The results suggest that this material may be used as a red phosphor in plasma display panels in nanopowder form because of strong excitation band of Eu3+ luminescence in the 160‐200 nm regions. Contrary to nanopowder sample, such an excitation band, attributed to the Gd3+–O2– charge transfer was not observed in crystal obtained by the micropulling‐down method. Single crystals of Mn2+ doped calcium levo‐ tartrate tetrahydrate (CLTT) were grown by single diffusion gel growth technique in silica hydro‐gel media. The doping of Mn2+ was varied by mixing 0.001M, 0.005M, 0.01M, 0.05M, and 0.1M solutions of MnCl2 with 1M CaCl2 solution in equal volumes in the supernatant solutions. The actual amount of Mn2+ doping in CLTT crystals was estimated by ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) technique. The powder XRD of the samples suggested no significant change in the unit cell dimensions and the presence of any extra phase. The FT‐IR spectra indicated the presence of water molecule, O‐H bond, C‐O bond and carbonyl C=O bond. The EPR spectra confirmed the presence of Mn2+ ions in the crystals. The variation of the dielectric constant with temperature confirmed the earlier results of pure calcium tartrate crystals and indicated the ferroelectric nature of the doped crystals. As the amount of doping of Mn2+ increased the value of dielectric constant increased. The results are discussed. (© 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

1 mol%, 2 mol%, 3 mol%, 4 mol% and 5 mol% In3+ doped LiNbO3 crystals were grown by the Czochralski method, respectively. Oxidized treatment of some crystals was carried out. The infrared transmission spectra and photo‐damage resistance of the samples were measured. The results showed that the OH absorption peaks of In(3mol%):LiNbO3, In(4mol%):LiNbO3 and In(5mol%):LiNbO3 crystals were located at about 3508 cm‐1, while those of In(1mol%):LiNbO3 and In(2mol%):LiNbO3 crystals were located at about 3484cm‐1. When the doped In3+ concentration reached its threshold in LiNbO3 crystal, photo‐damage resistance of In:LiNbO3 crystals was two orders of magnitude higher than that of pure LiNbO3 crystal. The experimental results of the second harmonic generation (SHG) showed that the phase matching temperatures of In:LiNbO3 crystals were lower than those of Zn:LiNbO3 and Mg:LiNbO3 crystals and the SHG efficiency reached 38%. Oxidization treatment was also found to make the dark trace resistance of crystals increase. (© 2005 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

Tri Glycinsulphate with partial substitution of phosphoric acid, namely Tri Glycine Sulpho Phosphate (TGSP) has been grown by slow cooling method. Habit modifications have been observed with change in the concentration of ortho phosphoric acid (H3PO4). Monoclinic structure of the grown crystals has been confirmed using X‐ray diffraction analysis. TGSP crystals doped with L – Asparagine were also grown. The doping effect is qualitatively estimated using FTIR analysis. TGA, DTA studies and dielectric measurements were carried out for pure and L‐Asparagine doped TGSP crystals to investigate the thermal and electrical properties of the crystals. Single crystals of pure and thallium (Tl) doped cesium iodide (CsI) have been grown by melt growth (Bridgman) technique. The grown crystals were subjected to powder X-ray diffraction and high-resolution XRD analysis. The cut and polished crystals were characterized for luminescence studies. UV-visible transmission studies have been carried out on the grown crystal in the wavelength range 200–650 nm. From the transmission spectrum it was found that the cut off wavelength increases with increase in Tl concentration and the transmittance is about 70%. The 0.06 mol% of Tl doped CsI crystal shows a good energy resolution of 7.6%. The hardness decreases for increasing the doping concentration. Etching studies have been carried out on doped and undoped crystals using methanol and water as etchant.  相似文献

Single crystals of amino acid doped (L–citrulline, L‐ascorbic acid) triglycine sulphate were grown by slow evaporation technique. The lattice parameters and crystalline quality were confirmed by powder X‐ray diffraction studies. The presence of functional groups in the grown crystals was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectrum analysis. The dielectric studies were carried out to identify the phase transition temperature and the dielectric constant was found to be less for both the doped crystals than pure triglycine sulphate crystal. Micro hardness studies were carried out using Vickers pyramidal indentation technique at room temperature showed a decrease in hardness due to doping. (© 2008 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. L(+)Glutamic acid hydrochloride [HOOC (CH2)2CH(NH2) COOH·HCl], a monoamino dicarboxylic acid salt of L‐Glutamic acid was synthesized and the synthesis was confirmed by FTIR analysis. Solubility of the material in water was determined. Pure and Thiourea doped L‐Glutamic acid hydrochloride crystals were grown by low temperature solution growth using solvent evaporation technique. XRD, UV‐Vis‐NIR analyses were carried out for both pure and thiourea doped crystals. The crystals were qualitatively analyzed by EDAX analysis and the presence of thiourea was confirmed. The cell parameters of L‐Glutamic acid hydrochloride have been determined as a = 5.151 Å, b = 11.79 Å, c = 13.35 Å by X‐ray diffraction analysis and it crystallizes in orthorhombic space group P212121. UV‐Vis‐NIR spectra analysis showed good optical transmission in the entire visible region for both pure and doped crystals. Micro hardness of both pure and doped crystals has been determined using Vickers micro hardness tester. The SHG efficiencies of both pure and doped crystals were determined using Kurtz powder test and pure L‐Glutamic acid hydrochloride crystal was found to possess better efficiency than thiourea doped L‐Glutamic acid hydrochloride crystals. Potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP) doped with different mole concentrations of Urea and KCl were grown using low temperature solution growth technique. X‐ray diffraction studies were carried out on the grown crystals using a Shimadzu X‐ray diffractometer with CuKD radiation. X‐ray study revealed that the structures of the doped crystals are slightly distorted compared to the pure KDP crystal. This may be attributed to strains on the lattice by the adsorption of urea and KCl.  相似文献

Modified hippuric acid (HA) single crystals have been grown from aqueous solution of acetone by doping with NaCl and KCl using slow evaporation technique at constant temperature, with the vision to improve the physicochemical properties of the sample. The characterisation of grown crystals was made by X‐ray powder diffraction, density and melting point measurements. TGA/DTA studies indicate that doped crystals are more stable than pure crystals. The optical transmission study and Kurtz powder SHG measurement shows the suitability of doped crystals for NLO applications. Dopant concentration is identified with ICP atomic emission spectrometer system. The Vicker's hardness studies at room temperature, carried out on (111) crystallographic plane shows increased hardness of the doped crystals. (© 2007 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Single crystals of pure and doped lead(II)chloride and lead(II)bromide were grown by gel technique employing a modified two-stage chemical reaction. Methods to minimise the predomination of needle morphology during the growth of these crystals have been investigated and the results are discussed. The grown crystals were characterised by optical transmission spectrum. Undoped and monovalent cation (K+, Na+, Cu+, Ag+ and Hg+) doped crystals of PbCl2 and PbBr2 were subjected to d.c. electrical conductivity studies. Using the log σT versus T−1 plot, the activation energies for the migration of anion vacancies in lead(II)halides are calculated. They are found to be less for the doped crystals than those of undoped ones.  相似文献

Undoped, Cr doped and Mg, Cr codoped LiNbO3 crystals were grown by conventional Czochralski technique. Comparative study was carried out using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and UV‐Visible spectroscopy. Infrared optical absorption for OH ion has been used to study the effect of dopants on the crystals. The peak position of OH shift to 3535 cm‐1 for Mg, Cr codoped crystals compared to 3484 cm‐1 for undoped and Cr doped crystals. Prominent absorption bands are found in the visible region centered at 480 nm (20833 cm‐1) and 653 nm (15313 cm‐1) in Cr doped crystals. Whereas in Mg, Cr codoped crystals these broad absorption bands are red shifted to 517 nm (19342 cm‐1) and 678 nm (14749 cm‐1). UV cutoff in Cr doped crystals shift towards higher wavelength compared to undoped LiNbO3 crystals. (© 2007 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

A study of the optical properties of pure‐and some metal ions doped ammonium sulfate crystals (AS) were made. Optical constants of AS crystals were calculated at room temperature. The optical absorption coefficient (α ) was analyzed and interpreted to be in the allowed direct transition. The introduction of Rb+ or Cs+ ions gives rise to an intense charge transfer band with a maximum at λ= 310 nm in the optical spectrum. In case of Cr3+ ‐doping, the absorption shows a shoulder just before the onset band to band transition. The values of the allowed direct energy gap Eg for undoped and doped crystals were calculated. It was found that Eg values were decreased with metal ions doping. The refractive index, the extinction coefficient and both the real and imaginary parts of the dielectric permittivity were calculated as a function of photon energy. The validity of Cauchy‐Sellimeier equation was checked in the wavelength range 4.9 ‐ 5.6 eV and its parameters were calculated. Applying the Single‐Effective‐Oscillator model, the moments of ε (E ) could be estimated. (© 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

The optical absorption spectra of LiNbO3 (LN), Fe:LiNbO3 (Fe:LN), and Zn:Fe:LiNbO3 (Zn:Fe:LN) single crystals grown by Bridgman method were measured and compared. The absorption characteristics of the samples and the effects of growth process conditions on the absorption spectra were investigated. The Fe, Zn and Li concentrations in the crystals were analyzed by inductively coupled plasma (ICP) spectrometry. The results indicated that the overall Fe ion and Fe2+ concentration in Fe:LN and Zn:Fe:LN crystals increased along the growing direction. The incorporation of ZnO in Fe:LN crystal induced increase of Fe2+ in the crystal. Among Fe‐doped and Zn:Fe‐codoped LN single crystals, 3 mol% ZnO doped Fe:LN had a biggest change of Fe2+ ion concentration from bottom to top part of crystal. The effects of technical conditions (atmosphere and thermal history) on Fe2+ ion concentration were discussed. (© 2004 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

Mn substituted ZnO nanocrystals synthesized by a co‐precipitation method. X‐ray diffraction (XRD) studies confirms the presence of wurtzite (hexagonal) crystal structure similar to un doped ZnO, suggesting that doped Mn ions go at the regular Zn sites. The lattice parameters a and c are increasing with increasing Mn content. The unit cell volume increases with increasing Mn concentration, indicating the homogeneous substitution of Mn2+ for the Zn2+. The lattice distortion parameter (εv) is evaluated from XRD data and found that it enhances as Mn content increases. Transmission electron microscopy photographs show that the size of the ZnO crystals is in the range of 20‐50 nm. The SAED pattern confirms the hexagonal and crystalline nature of the samples which are in agreement with X‐ray analysis. The chemical groups of the samples have been identified by FTIR studies (© 2011 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

Potassium Dihydrogen Phosphate (KDP) is an excellent inorganic nonlinear optical (NLO) material with different device applications. Most of amino acids possess NLO property; therefore, it is of interest to dope them in KDP crystals. In the present study, amino acid L‐alanine doped KDP crystals were grown by slow aqueous solvent evaporation technique. The doping of L‐alanine was confirmed by the paper chromatography, the CHN analysis and the FT‐IR spectroscopy. The powder XRD was carried out to assess the single phase nature of the samples. The effect of doping on thermal stability of the crystals was studied by TGA and the kinetic and thermodynamic parameters of dehydration were evaluated. As the amount of doping increased the thermal stability of crystals decreased. However, the second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency and the UV‐Vis spectroscopy studies indicated that as the L‐alanine doping increased the SHG efficiency and optical transmission percentage increased. The dielectric behavior of the samples has been studied. The variation of dielectric constant, dielectric loss (tanδ), a.c.resistivity and a.c.conductivity with frequency of applied field in the range from 100 Hz to 100 kHz was studied. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss decreased with increase the value of frequency of applied field. The dielectric constant and the dielectric loss values of L‐alanine doped KDP crystals were lower than the pure KDP crystals. The results are discussed. (© 2010 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KDP crystals were rapidly grown from solution doped with different Ba2+ concentrations. The effects of Ba2+ on the growth rate, morphology and quality of KDP crystals were discussed. Significant changes in shapes and volume of the grown crystals have been observed. During the growth process, defect region expands gradually with the increasing Ba2+ concentration. Samples were cut from different parts of the as‐grown crystals for investigating the optical quality, including transmission spectrum, scattering centers. Through comparison, it is found that the nonuniform distribution of Ba2+ ions causes remarkable difference in optical quality between prismatic and pyramidal sectors.
