In the present work, the formation of the Al70Cu20Fe10 icosahedral phase by mechanical alloying the elemental powders in a high-energy planetary mill was investigated by X-ray diffraction and Mössbauer spectroscopy. It was verified that the sample milled for 80 h produces an icosahedral phase besides Al(Cu, Fe) solid solution (β-phase) and Al2Cu intermetallic phase. The Mössbauer spectrum for this sample was fitted with a distribution of quadrupole splitting, a doublet and a sextet, revealing the presence of the icosahedral phase, β-phase and α-Fe, respectively. This compound is not a good hydrogen storage. The results of the X-ray diffraction and Mössbauer spectroscopy of the sample milled for 40 h and annealed at 623°C for 16 h shows essentially single i-phase and tetragonal Al7Cu2 Fe phase.  相似文献

Al-Cu-Fe alloys were prepared by mechanical alloying starting from elemental powders in a high-energy planetary ball mill. Three different alloy compositions with the same c Cu : c Fe ratio of 2:1 but different aluminium contents, that is Al55Cu30Fe15, Al63Cu25Fe12 and Al70Cu20Fe10, were investigated. A sequence of solid-state reactions resulting in quasicrystalline phase formation in Al63Cu25Fe12 proceeds during milling and during annealing of the as-milled powder. These reactions were studied by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry. In order to form an aluminium-matrix composite, Al63Cu25Fe12 single-phase quasicrystalline powders were blended with different amounts of aluminium. In an intermediate milling step the powder blend was homogenized. The powders were consolidated by hot extrusion. The bulk samples revealed a homogeneous dispersion of the particles in the matrix but a rather heterogeneous size distribution. The mechanical properties at room temperature were tested by constant-rate compression tests. A rule-of-mixtures dependence of the ultimate strength and the yield strength on the volume fraction of the quasicrystalline particles was found.  相似文献

The kinetics of primary crystallization and the effect of structural parameters of the precipitating nanocrystalline α-phase Fe-Si on changes in microhardness, coercive force, and saturation magnetization in an amorphous Finemet-type 5BDSR alloy (Fe78.5Si13.5B9Nb3Cu1) obtained by melt quenching are studied. It is found that both an increase in bulk density and an increase in the average nanoparticle size contribute to the hardening of the amorphous/nanocrystalline alloy.  相似文献

Large-scale octahedral Fe3O4 nanocrystallines with crystalline size of 100−500 nm were synthesized by a facile solvent-thermal method for electromagnetic wave application. The Fe3O4 nanocrystallines showed a higher saturation magnetization (M s ) value of 86.8 emu/g and larger coercivity (H cj ) value of 255 Oe than that of magnetite polycrystallines because of their good crystallization and dispersion. The epoxy resin composites with 40 vol% Fe3O4 powders provided good electromagnetic wave absorption performance (RL < −20 dB) in the range of 2.0–4.3 GHz over the absorber thicknesses of 3.5–6.8 mm. A minimum RL value of −47 dB was observed at 3.1 GHz with a thickness of 4.8 mm.  相似文献

Photovoltaic currents along the c axis have been measured in α-phase LiNbO3 proton-exchanged waveguides at several visible wavelengths for a guided-beam configuration. The light-intensity dependence is superlinear and all experimental curves are very well fitted by computer simulations using a two-centre model, with Fe2+/Fe3+ as primary and NbLi 4+/NbLi 5+ as secondary photovoltaic centres. The superlinear behaviour arises from a much higher effective photovoltaic length of NbLi 4+ (small polaron) compared with that of Fe2+. In β1-phase guides, the photocurrents are much smaller than in α-phase guides and apparently do not show superlinear behaviour. Pyrochlore-structured materials are very important materials due to their structural and conducting properties. These properties can be further modified by changing processing conditions. In the present study, pyrochlore (Y2Ti2O7) is synthesized using high-energy ball milling. During various stages of ball milling, the ball-milled powder is taken for investigating the structural and thermal properties. The replacement of Ti2O3 by TiO2 in nominal composition leads to lower ball milling duration to form Y2Ti2O7. Differential thermal analysis showed the single exothermic peak below 800 °C, which indicates formation of disordered pyrochlore phase. The as prepared powders (40-h ball milled) were compacted and heat treated at 1,450 °C for 12 h. The conductivity of sintered sample is found to be one order higher than earlier reported pure Y2Ti2O7 pyrochlore.  相似文献

The structure of the Fe73.5Si13.5B9Nb3Cu1 soft magnetic alloy has been investigated using X-ray diffraction in transmission geometry. The initial alloy prepared by rapid quenching from the melt has a short-range order (∼2 nm) in the atomic arrangement, which is characteristic of the Fe-Si structure with a body-centered cubic lattice. The alloy subjected to annealing contains Fe-Si nanocrystals with sizes as large as 10–12 nm. The annealing under a tensile load leads to an extension of the nanocrystal lattice so that, after cooling, a significant residual deformation is retained. This can be judged from the relative shifts of the (hkl) peaks in the X-ray diffraction patterns measured for two orientations of the scattering vector, namely, parallel and perpendicular to the direction of the load applied. The deformation is anisotropic: within the accuracy of the experiment, no distortions in the [111] direction are observed and the distortions in the [100] direction are maximum. It is known that crystals with a composition close to Fe3Si exhibit a negative magnetostriction; i.e., their magnetization induced under a load (Villari effect) applied along the [100] direction is perpendicular to this direction along one of the easy magnetization ([010] or [001]) axes. In the alloy, the orientation of the nanocrystal axes is isotropic and the majority of the nanocrystals have a composition close to Fe3Si. The direction of magnetization of these nanocrystals is determined by the residual deformation of their lattice and lies near the plane perpendicular to the direction of the tensile load applied during heat treatment. This is responsible for the appearance of transverse magnetic anisotropy of the easy-plane type in the Fe73.5Si13.5B9Nb3Cu1 alloy.  相似文献

A reconstruction technique based on the solution of the Radon transform in terms of Jacobi polynomials is used to obtain the 3D electron momentum density, ϱ(p), from nine high-resolution Compton profiles (CPs) for a Cu0.9Al0.1 disordered alloy single crystal. The method was also applied to theoretical CPs computed within the Korringa–Kohn–Rostoker coherent potential approximation (KKR-CPA) first-principles scheme for the same nine orientations of the crystal. The experimental ϱ(p) is in satisfactory agreement with the theoretical ϱ(p), shows most details of the Fermi surface (FS) and exhibits electron correlation effects. We comment on the map of the FS obtained by folding the reconstructed ϱ(p) into the first Brillouin zone, which yields the occupation number density, ϱ(k). A test of the validity of data via a consistency condition (within our reconstruction algorithm) as well as the propagation of experimental noise in the reconstruction of both ϱ(p) and ϱ(k) are investigated. The effect of temperature and elastic tensile stresses on the magnetoimpedance of an amorphous Vitrovac 6025Z (Fe4CO67Mo1.5Si16.5B11) foil is studied. Two temperature ranges (20–70 and 70–220°C) in which the effect of elastic tensile stresses on the magnetoimpedance has different characters are detected. The existence of these two temperature ranges is shown to be caused by a change in the sign of a magnetostriction constant at 70°C.  相似文献

The absorption spectra, fluorescence spectrum and fluorescence decay curve of Nd3+ ions in CaNb2O6 crystal were measured at room temperature. The peak absorption cross section was calculated to be 6.202×10−20 cm2 with a broad FWHM of 7 nm at 808 nm for E//a light polarization. The spectroscopic parameters of Nd3+ ions in CaNb2O6 crystal have been investigated based on Judd-Ofelt theory. The parameters of the line strengths Ω t are Ω 2=5.321×10−20 cm2,Ω 4=1.734×10−20 cm2,Ω 6=2.889×10−20 cm2. The radiative lifetime, the fluorescence lifetime and the quantum efficiency are 167 μs, 152 μs and 91%, respectively. The fluorescence branch ratios are calculated to be β 1=36.03%,β 2=52.29%,β 3=11.15%,β 4=0.533%. The emission cross section at 1062 nm is 9.87×10−20 cm2.  相似文献

Polyaniline/Zn0.5Cu0.5Fe2O4 nanocomposite was synthesized by a simple, general and inexpensive in-situ polymerization method in w/o microemulsion. The effects of polyaniline coating on the magnetic properties of Zn0.5Cu0.5Fe2O4 nanoparticles were investigated. The structural, morphological and magnetic properties of as-prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and magnetic measurements. The morphology analysis confirmed that polyaniline was deposited on the porous surface of magnetic Zn0.5Cu0.5Fe2O4. It was shown that the saturation magnetization and coercivity of Zn0.5Cu0.5Fe2O4 decreased after polyaniline coating, which can be interpreted by the interparticle dipole–dipole interactions that contributed to magnetic anisotropy and changed the magnetic properties of the nanoparticles. The influence of high-pressure hydrostatic compression and subsequent annealing on the structural properties of β’-phase single crystals of europium molybd ate was studied by IR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. It was demonstrated that after compression, the IR spectra exhibit drastic changes and do not depend on the initial crystallographic orientation of a single crystal. The high-pressure compression of single crystals followed by their annealing was found to result in the formation of β’-Eu2(MoO4)3 single crystals with the same crystallographic orientation as that of the initial samples.  相似文献

The layered LiNi0.5Mn0.47Al0.03O2 was synthesized by wet chemical method and characterized by X-ray diffraction and analysis of magnetic measurements. The powders adopted the α-NaFeO2 structure. This substitution of Al for Mn promotes the formation of Li(Ni0.472+Ni0.033+Mn0.474+Al0.033+)O2 structures and induces an increase in the average oxidation state of Ni, thereby leading to the shrinkage of the lattice unit cell. The concentration of antisite defects in which Ni2+ occupies the (3a) Li lattice sites in the Wyckoff notation has been estimated from the ferromagnetic Ni2+(3a)–Mn4+(3b) pairing observed below 140 K. The substitution of 3% Al for Mn reduces the amount of antisite defects from 7% to 6.4–6.5%. The analysis of the magnetic properties in the paramagnetic phase in the framework of the Curie–Weiss law agrees well with the combination of Ni2+ (S = 1), Ni3+ (S = 1/2) and Mn4+ (S = 3/2) spin-only values. Delithiation has been made by the use of K2S2O8. According to this process, known to be softer than the electrochemical one, the nickel ions in the (3b) sites are converted into Ni4+ in the high spin configuration, while Ni2+(3a)–Mn4+(3b) ferromagnetic pairs remain, as the Li+(3b) ions linked to the Ni2+(3a) ions in the antisite defects are not removed. The results show that the antisite defect is surrounded by Mn4+ ions, implying the nonuniform distribution of the cations in agreement with previous NMR and neutron experiments.  相似文献

There has been an increasing interest towards the incorporation of nanosize ceramic fillers in polymer electrolytes. Solid polymer electrolytes based on polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), silver triflate (AgCF3SO3), and x wt% of aluminum oxide (Al2O3) nanopowders (where x = 1, 3, 5, and 10, respectively) have been prepared using solution casting technique. The structural characteristics of these thin film specimens were studied using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns at room temperature. The appearance of new absorption bands and gradual shifts observed in some characteristic peaks confirmed the complex formation between polyvinylidene fluoride and silver triflate. Furthermore, the addition of nanosized filler Al2O3 has also indicated the interaction of the filler with the polymer salt complex. The XRD patterns obtained for all these samples in the 2θ range 10° to 70° showed the amorphous nature of these samples. The short-range order around boron, aluminum, and iron atoms in Fe75B25 and Fe70Al5B25 amorphous alloys has been studied by 11B and 27Al nuclear magnetic resonance at 4.2 K and 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy at 87 and 295 K. The average magnetic moment of iron atoms μ(Fe) in these alloys has been measured by a vibrating sample magnetometer. It has been revealed that the substitution of aluminum atoms for iron atoms does not disturb μ(Fe) in the Fe70Al5B25 alloy, gives rise to an additional contribution to the 11B NMR spectrum in the low-frequency range, and shifts maxima of the distribution of hyperfine fields at the 57Fe nuclei. In the Fe70Al5B25 amorphous alloy, the aluminum atoms substitute for iron atoms in the nearest coordination shells of boron and iron atoms. This alloy consists of nanoclusters in which boron and iron atoms have a short-range order of the tetragonal Fe3B phase type.  相似文献

The results of infrared reflectivity measurements for the iron-based high-temperature superconductor Ba(Fe0.9Co0.1)2As2 are reported. The reflectivity is found to be close to unity at frequencies ω lower than 2Δ/h (2Δ is the superconducting gap and h is Planck’s constant). This is evidence for the s +/− or s +/+ symmetry of the superconducting order parameter in the studied compound. The infrared reflectivity spectra of Ba(Fe0.9Co0.1)2As2 manifest opening of several superconducting gaps at temperatures lower than critical T c .  相似文献

The magnetic properties of the Nd0.5Gd0.5Fe3(BO3)4 single crystal have been studied in principal crystallographic directions in magnetic fields to 90 kG in the temperature range 2–300 K; in addition, the heat capacity has been measured in the range 2–300 K. It has been found that, below the Néel temperature T N = 32 K down to 2 K, the single crystal exhibits an easy-plane antiferromagnetic structure. A hysteresis has been detected during magnetization of the crystal in the easy plane in fields of 1.0–3.5 kG, and a singularity has been found in the temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility in the easy plane at a temperature of 11 K in fields B < 1 kG. It has been shown that the singularity is due to appearance of the hysteresis. The origin of the magnetic properties of the crystal near the hysteresis has been discussed.  相似文献

Four nanocrystalline ZrO2(Y)- and Al2O3-based powders synthesized by plasma spray pyrolysis have been studied. It has been shown that the ZrO2(3Y)-based system with second component Al2O3 forms a nonequilibrium solid solution ZrO2(3Y, Al) with the tetragonal structure. It has been found that the existence of an component (ZrO2(Y)) insoluble in the coarse-grained state in Al2O3-based systems causes the delay of the γ → α transformation and decreases the size of the coherently scattering domains of formed nanosized modifications of Al2O3.  相似文献

The rapid solidification of Sb60Ag20Cu20 ternary alloy was realized by high undercooling method, and the maximum undercooling is up to 142 K (0.18TL). Within the wide undercooling range of 40-142 K, the solidified microstructures are composed of (Sb), θand ε phases. High undercooling enlarges the solute solubility of (Sb) phase, which causes its crystal lattice to expand and its crystal lattice constants to increase. Primary (Sb) phase grows in two modes at small undercoolings non-faceted dendrite growth is the main growth form; whereas at large undercoolings faceted dendrite growth takes the dominant place. The remarkable difference of crystal structures between (Sb) and θphases leads to (θ Sb) pseudobinary eutectic hard to form, whereas strips of θform when the alloy melt reaches the (θ Sb) pseudobinary eutectic line. The cooperative growth of θand ε phases contributes to the formation of (ε θ) pseudobinary eutectic easily. In addition, the crystallization route has been determined via microstructural characteristic analysis and DSC experiment.  相似文献

(La0.7Sr0.3MnO3) x /(YBa2Cu3O7) y composites were prepared by mixing La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 powders and the sol–gel-derived YBa2Cu3O7 matrix, followed by high-temperature calcinations. Their structural, magnetic properties and magnetoresistance effect have been investigated systematically. A giant positive magnetoresistance (PMR) at low magnetic field is observed at low temperatures. In the case of (La0.7Sr0.3MnO3)1/(YBa2Cu3O7)9 composite, the PMR achieves 260% under a magnetic field of 5800 Oe. However, the PMR value sharply decreases with increasing temperature and no magnetoresistance effects are found above metal-insulator transition temperature. The enhancement of spin-dependent scattering at the grain boundaries should be responsible for the observed PMR. In addition, the temperature dependence of resistance under magnetic field could be explained by the competition between diamagnetism and paramagnetism in YBCO phase. At low temperature, the diamagnetism is predominant over paramagnetism and the interface scattering between LSMO grains is enhanced correspondingly. As a result, the low-temperature resistance increases and large PMR appears.  相似文献
