In this study, a system of microring resonators and an add/drop filter are used to generate a large bandwidth signal as a localized multi wavelength, applicable for continuous dense coding and continuous variable encoding generation. This technique uses the Kerr nonlinear type of light in the MRR to generate multi wavelength of bright and dark soliton for quantum network cryptography. Afterwards, generated bright and dark optical pulses are converted into digital logic quantum codes using a decimal convertor system in which transmission of secured information are performed via an optical wireless communication system. Results show that ranges of multi bright and dark soliton wavelengths from 1.45 to $1.65\,\upmu \mathrm{m}$ with central wavelength of $1.55\,\upmu \mathrm{m}$ could be simulated, where the FWHM and FSR of 50 and 1,440 pm are obtained, respectively.  相似文献

New system of optical soliton signal generation with a high frequency band is presented. Microring resonator can be used to generate soliton signals with high frequency of GHz. These signals can be transmitted via a wireless network system known as WiMAX, which is providing broadband wireless access up to 50 km. The soliton pulses are more stable with less loss during propagation which is good candidate compare to other current optical waves used in optical communication. In this study, soliton pulses with full width at half maximum of 3 MHz and FSR of 85 MHz could be generated using an add/drop filter system which is used to generate high frequency signals, required for wireless network systems. These pulses can be used as carrier signals in order to transmit information codes without significant changes, thus improving transmission quality and delivery of the right information.  相似文献

We propose a new optical system that can be used to form the multi-soliton pulses within the micro-ring resonators. The system consists of two micro-ring resonators and an add/drop multiplexer that can be integrated into a single system. The large bandwidth signal is generated by using a soliton pulse propagating in a Kerr-type nonlinear medium. The tuned soliton pulses in either spatial or temporal modes are obtained by using the add/drop multiplexer. Results obtained have shown that the multi-soliton pulses can be localized coherently within the micro-ring waveguide. This is shown that the generation of the multi-soliton pulses within the micro-ring resonator is achieved, which is available for long-distance communication with dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM). The significant increase in channel number and spacing are obtained, whereas the large free spectrum range (FSR) of 600 pm is achieved.  相似文献

We report efficient frequency doubling of passively mode-locked femtosecond erbium-fiber lasers. Quasi-phase-matched second-harmonic generation in periodically poled lithium niobate is used to generate 8.1 mW of 190-fs (FWHM), 90-pJ pulses at 777 nm with a conversion efficiency greater than can be obtained with existing birefringently phase-matched nonlinear materials. A dispersion-compensation-free soliton oscillator generating transform-limited 230-fs (FWHM) pulses at 1554 nm is used as a pump laser.  相似文献

We report femtosecond pulse generation and chirped pulse amplification in Tm:fiber. A mode-locked oscillator operating in the soliton regime produced 800 fs pulses with 5 nm spectral bandwidth, at 40 pJ pulse energy. This oscillator seeded a pre-amplifier that utilizes a Raman soliton self-frequency shift to produce wavelength tunable pulses with 3 nJ energy, reduced pulse duration of 150 fs, and increased bandwidth of 30 nm. For further amplification, the pulses were stretched up to 160 ps using a chirped Bragg grating (CBG). Stretched pulses were amplified to 85 nJ after compression in single-mode Tm:fiber and recompressed with the CBG as short as 400 fs. Compressed pulses were coupled into a highly nonlinear tellurite fiber to investigate the potential of this ultrashort pulse 2-μm fiber source as a pump for mid-IR supercontinuum generation.  相似文献

高重复频率超短光脉冲产生技术是高速光时分复用(OTDM)系统的关键技术之一,而一般的超短脉冲源直接产生的脉冲往往不够窄,因此必须对光脉冲进行压缩后才能满足高速光通信系统的要求。采用360 m长的色散渐减光纤(DDF),成功将从再生锁模光纤激光器(RMLFL)输出的中心波长1546 nm、重复频率10 GHz、脉宽分别为5.40 ps和4.60 ps的光脉冲,绝热压缩为脉宽为1.93 ps和1.71 ps的小基座孤子脉冲,压缩因子分别为2.80和2.69。利用这种绝热孤子压缩方法得到的光脉冲质量较好,可以用于160 Gb/s的光时分复用系统。  相似文献

We present a novel communication band of the tunable multi-Gaussian soliton system, whereas the large bandwidth signals of the spatial soliton pulses can be generated after propagating within the nonlinear ring resonator system. A Gaussian pulse input with 20 ns pulse width, 2 W peak power, the center wavelength at 1300 nm is propagated into the nonlinear ring resonator system. Using the appropriate parameters relating to the practical device such as micro-ring radii, coupling coefficients, linear and nonlinear refractive index, we found that the multi-soliton pulse obtained have shown the potential of application for a new dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) band. The soliton pulse width and free spectrum range of 400 and 7 fm are obtained, respectively, which can be used to increase the channel capacity in soliton communication. Furthermore, the soliton power obtained is available for system and link redundancy, where the output soliton power of 12 W is achieved.  相似文献

We demonstrate resolution improvement in an optical coherence tomography (OCT) system with multiple scans of segmented spectral bands and software signal processing. With an effective spectral full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) of 45 nm, centered at 950 nm, we compress the interference fringe FWHM from 31 μm down to 7 μm, which is smaller than the theoretical limit of 8.9 μm if a Gaussian spectral shape is assumed, through the combined effect of dispersion compensation and spectral shaping. With the amplitude adjustments of the OCT images of the segmented spectral bands, side-lobes can be significantly suppressed with a slight increase of the fringe envelope FWHM. With other amplitude adjustments, the envelope FWHM can be reduced to 5.6 μm at the expense of significant side-lobes.  相似文献

We present the theory of electrostrictional interaction of soliton pulses in optical fibers. Solitons excite acoustic waves propagating in the direction transverse to the fiber axis. Scattering of optical radiation on these waves leads to a timing jitter of the optical pulses arrival time. We consider this effect as nonlinear self-scattering of light on acoustic waves. Because of the fact that a value of acoustic lifetime can reach a value of about 100 ns self-scattering on acoustic waves can be observed for a single optical pulse as well as for an optical pulse sequence as a whole. The value of single soliton self-frequency shift due to excitation of acoustic waves as a function of soliton duration have been obtained. For soliton duration sol > 14 ps an acoustic wave soliton self-frequency shift is larger than the Raman soliton self-frequency shift.The obtained theoretical results describe well the long-range interaction of soliton pulse trains in an optical fiber. The value of bit error rate due to electrostrictional interaction of optical pulses in high bit rate, ultra long soliton communication systems have been obtained.  相似文献

The enhancement of different non-linear processes in microstructured optical fibres can be achieved through manipulation of the dispersion characteristics of the fibre. This is demonstrated by extending the region of short wavelength operation of high power supercontinuum generation through four wave mixing in a cascaded fibre geometry where the dispersion of each fibre decreased on propagation. The technique is further refined in a demonstration utilizing long lengths of dispersion decreasing tapered microstructured fibres, where the supercontinuum extends to around 300 nm with spectral power densities in excess of 2 mW/nm in the uv. These long length tapers can also be utilized for adiabatic soliton pulse compression in new spectral regions, allowing the compression of 655 fs pulses to 45 fs.  相似文献

We show the effect of varied order and width of super Gaussian pulse at 10 Gb/s in dispersion compensated optical communication system. The optical communication system consists of standard single-mode fiber of 16 ps/nm/km of a certain length, whose dispersion is compensated using pre-, post- and symmetrical-dispersion compensation schemes with proportionate length dispersion compensating fiber of −80 ps/nm/km. Performance of these three compensation schemes is compared at 14 dBm values of Er-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFA) power at 1st, 2nd and 3rd order RZ super Gaussian optical pulse. The pulse width, full width at half maximum (FWHM) is also varied from 5 to 30 ps to highlight the optimum performance. The graphical results obtained show a relationship among the attributes pulse width, order of RZ super Gaussian optical pulse and dispersion compensation scheme implemented. It shows that to decrease BER and timing jitter in the system, smaller width and 3rd order super Gaussian pulse should be used. It is recommended that to decrease dependency of BER and timing jitter in the communication system on the pulse width i.e. FWHM, the symmetrical compensation scheme should be implemented.  相似文献

The dispersion management of a non-collinear optical parametric chirped-pulse amplifier is presented. A stretcher based on a combination of a grating and a prism pair (grism) is given and analyzed in detail. This combination can provide up to 300 nm acceptance bandwidth and is suitable for parametric amplification of few-cycle pulses. The amplified pulses can be compressed by the dispersion of optical glasses such as SF57 and the residual high-order dispersion may be compensated by adaptive optical filters and chirped mirrors.  相似文献

We present a simple and efficient technique for the generation of ultrashort deep-ultraviolet pulses based on four-wave mixing of noncollinear laser pulses in a thin solid. Sub-30-fs pulses (Fourier-limit of 13 fs) centered at 270 nm, with energies up to 6 μJ, were obtained by mixing the fundamental and the second harmonic of a Ti:sapphire amplifier in fused silica. Temporal characterization was performed with a dispersionless self-diffraction FROG setup. Spectra as broad as 20 nm were also obtained that can in principle support sub-4-fs deep-ultraviolet pulses.The results are well described by two-dimensional numerical simulations.  相似文献

A widely tunable mode-locked all-fiberized Yb-doped fiber laser with near-transform-limited spectrum linewidth is used. It consists of a tunable fiber Bragg grating (TFBG) and a fiber-coupled LiNbO3 phase modulator (PM) in a linear cavity. The TFBG is used to achieve tunable emission wavelength, and the intracavity PM is used to achieve actively mode-locking operation. We have experimentally demonstrated that the laser-emitting wavelength can be tuned between 1,041 and 1,091 nm with power fluctuation less than 3 dB. The temporal width of the laser pulse is about 1 ns, and the pulses are near transform-limited with a spectral linewidth of 1.3 GHz. The results may find useful application in optical communication and optical measurement system.  相似文献

为了在有限抽运功率条件下探索基于大模场面积光 子晶体光纤的耗散孤子锁模振荡器的能量提升潜力, 本文利用多通单元将基于掺镱大模场面积光子晶体光纤锁模振荡器的腔长延展, 消除了有限抽运功率的限制, 使得该系统能够在较低平均功率水平下获得更高的单脉冲能量. 实验上构建了重复频率低至15.58 MHz的高能量光子晶体光纤锁模脉冲振荡器, 并通过分别使用6 nm带宽和12 nm带宽的两种不同带宽的光谱滤光片, 能够直接输出平均功率分别为3.73 W和4.9 W的啁啾脉冲, 对应单脉冲能量分别为239 nJ和314 nJ. 经过光栅对去啁啾后, 最窄脉冲宽度分别为56 fs和75 fs, 对应峰值功率均超过3 MW. 关键词: 多通单元 耗散孤子 飞秒 光纤激光器  相似文献

An all-optical analog-to-digital converter(ADC) based on the nonlinear effect in a silicon waveguide is a promising candidate for overcoming the limitation of electronic devices and is suitable for photonic integration. In this paper, a lumped time-delay compensation scheme with 2-bit quantization resolution is proposed. A strip silicon waveguide is designed and used to compensate for the entire time-delays of the optical pulses after a soliton self-frequency shift(SSFS) module within a wavelength range of 1550 nm–1580 nm. A dispersion coefficient as high as-19800 ps/(km·nm) with ±0.5 ps/(km·nm)variation is predicted for the strip waveguide. The simulation results show that the maximum supportable sampling rate(MSSR) is 50.45 GSa/s with full width at half maximum(FWHM) variation less than 2.52 ps, along with the 2-bit effectivenumber-of-bit and Gray code output.  相似文献

Modulation instability can be used to convert a continuous light wave into a train of pulses on a constant background. It is a longstanding discussion whether these pulses can be converted into solitons. We clarify the situation by using a more general mathematical context, invoking the Akhmediev breather, Peregrine soliton and Kuznetsov-Ma soliton solutions of the wave equation, and suggest the use of a Mach–Zehnder interferometer to remove the background. Expressions for the pulse widths and peak powers thus obtained are presented, and their soliton content is determined. It turns out that more than 95 % of each pulse’s energy can be converted to a soliton.  相似文献

提出了一种以处于增益开关调制状态下的法布里珀罗(Fabry-Pérot)半导体激光器作为光源,采用简单的自激注入锁定方式,以生成波长可调谐的超短光脉冲的实验系统。该实验装置中,激光器的外腔包括两个串联在一起的布拉格光纤光栅,一个掺铒光纤放大器(EDFA),一个光耦合器和两个环行器,其作用是选模,以及增强并控制反馈回激光器内腔的光强。该实验系统简单而高效,在24nm的波长调谐范围内获得了边模抑制比高于40dB的单模光脉冲输出;而在1521.8nm和1550.0nm之间28.2nm的波长调谐范围内,边模抑制比高于35dB。所得到的各个单波长激光脉冲的时域半峰全宽为140~260ps,各个脉冲的光谱半峰全宽皆为0.1nm。  相似文献
