Palladium/Iron (Pd/Fe) nanoparticles were prepared by using ultrasound strengthened liquid phase reductive method to enhance dispersion and avoid agglomeration. The dechlorination of 2,4-dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP) by Pd/Fe nanoparticles was investigated to understand its feasibility for an in situ remediation of contaminated groundwater. Results showed that 2,4-DCP was first adsorbed by Pd/Fe nanoparticles, then quickly reduced to o-chlorophenol (o-CP), p-chlorophenol (p-CP), and finally to phenol (P). The induction of ultrasound during the preparation of Pd/Fe nanoparticles further enhanced the removal efficiency of 2,4-DCP, as a result, the phenol production rates increased from 65% (in the absence of ultrasonic irradiation) to 91% (in the presence of ultrasonic irradiation) within 2 h. Our data suggested that the dechlorination rate was dependent on various factors including Pd loading percentage over Fe0, Pd/Fe nanoparticles availability, temperature, mechanical stirring speed, and initial pH values. Up to 99.2% of 2,4-DCP was removed after 300 min reaction with these conditions: Pd loading percentage over Fe0 0.3 wt.%, initial 2,4-DCP concentration 20 mg L?1, Pd/Fe dosage 3 g L?1, initial pH value 3.0, and reaction temperature 25 °C. The degradation of 2,4-DCP followed pseudo-first-order kinetics reaction and the apparent pseudo-first-order kinetics constant was 0.0468 min?1.  相似文献

The effectiveness of ozone combined with ultrasound techniques in degrading reactive red X-3B is evaluated. A comparison among ozone (O3), ultrasonic (US), ozone/ultrasonic (O3/US) for degradation of reactive red X-3B has been performed. Results show that O3/US system was the most effective and the optimally synergetic factor reaches to 1.42 in O3/US system. The cavitation of ultrasound plays an important role during the degradation process. It is found that 99.2% of dye is degraded within 6 min of reaction at the initial concentration of 100 mg·L−1, pH of 6.52, ozone flux of 40 L·h−1 and ultrasonic intensity of 200 W·L−1. Ozonation reactions in conjunction with sonolysis indicate that the decomposition followed pseudo-first-order reaction kinetics but the degradation efficiencies are affected by operating conditions, particularly initial pH and ultrasonic intensity. A kinetic model is established based on the reaction corresponding to operational parameters. In addition, the main reaction intermediates, such as p-benzoquinone, catechol, hydroquinone, phthalic anhydride and phthalic acid, are separated and identified using GC/MS and a possible degradation pathway is proposed during the O3/US process.  相似文献

Ni/diamond composite coatings have been synthesized by ultrasonic-assisted electrodeposition in a Ni electroplating bath containing diamond nanoparticles. The influences of current density and ultrasonic agitation on the coating composition, morphology, topography, phase structure, and electrochemical characteristics of the electrodeposits were evaluated. Ultrasonic agitation was provided using an external ultrasonic bath at a frequency of 40 kHz and acoustic power of 300 W. Coating samples were also prepared under magnetic stirring for comparison with the ultrasonic-assisted deposits. This work reveals that the diamonds have been incorporated and evenly distributed in the composites. The coatings exhibit dense, granular like morphology with pyramid-like grains. As current density increases, the diamond amount of ultrasonic-assisted electrodeposits first increased to maximum of 11.4 wt% at 3 A dm−2 and then decreases to 9.9 wt% at 5 A dm−2, and the RTC of the preferred orientation (2 0 0) plane increases from 76.3% up to 93.4%. The crystallite size was 60–80 nm and the Ra of the magnetic and ultrasonic agitations were 116 nm, 110 nm, respectively. The maximum Rp of 39.9, 50.3 kΩ cm2 was obtained at 4 A dm−2 when respectively immersed 30 min and 7 days, illustrating the best corrosion resistance of the coatings of 4 A dm−2. The effects of mechanical and ultrasonic agitations on the mechanism of the co-electrodeposition process were both proposed. The incorporation of diamond particles enhances the hardness and wear-resisting property of the electrodeposits. The ultrasonic-assisted electrodeposited Ni/diamond coating has better corrosion resistance than that prepared under mechanical stirring conditions.  相似文献

A novel combination of mechanochemical and sonochemical techniques was developed to produce high-surface-area, bio-based calcium carbonate (CaCO3) nanoparticles from eggshells. Size reduction of eggshell achieved via mechanochemical and followed by sonochemical method. First, eggshells were cleaned and ground, then ball milled in wet condition using polypropylene glycol for ten hours to produce fine particles. The ball milled eggshell particles were then irradiated with a high intensity ultrasonic horn (Ti-horn, 20 kHz, and 100 W/cm2) in the presence of N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF); decahydronaphthalene (Decalin); or tetrahydrofuran (THF). The ultrasonic irradiation times varied from 1 to 5 h. Transmission electron microscopic (TEM) studies showed that the resultant particle shapes and sizes were different from each solvent. The sonochemical effect of DMF is more pronounced and the particles were irregular platelets of ~10 nm. The BET surface area (43.687 m2/g) of these nanoparticles is much higher than that of other nanoparticles derived from eggshells.  相似文献

An ultrasonic irradiation was applied for the impregnation by chemical agents in the chemical activation process of new type of active carbon precursor. Plane tree seed, due to the unique fibrous structure and low cost is a promising eco-friendly raw material for the preparation of activated carbon materials. Ultrasonic irradiation was used for the impregnation step allowing the chemical activation by different agents: potassium or sodium hydroxide, hydrogen peroxide and pyrogallol. The porous structures were examined by nitrogen adsorption/desorption isotherms at 77 K and electrochemically by cyclic voltammetry. The textures of these materials were observed by scanning electron microscopy. The application of ultrasonic irradiation in the impregnation step increased surface area of the final material more than two times in comparison to the material which impregnation in the activation process was by conventional stirring. Ultrasonic irradiation enhances the chemical activation process and the activated carbon fibrous materials with nanoporous structure were obtained by impregnation of seeds with alkaline hydroxides. Total surface areas of these samples were 976 m2 g−1 and 1130 m2 g−1. These fibers have total specific capacitance as high as 125 F g−1 and 53 F g−1 which major fraction in both cases originate from internal micropores structure.  相似文献

In this work, we have experimentally studied the structure and electrochemical properties of nanocrystalline TiFe- and LaNi5-type alloys. These materials were prepared by mechanical alloying (MA) followed by annealing. The properties of hydrogen host materials can be modified substantially by alloying to obtain the desired storage characteristics. It was found that the respective replacement of Fe in TiFe by Ni and/or by Cr, Co, Mo, Zr improved not only the discharge capacity but also the cycle life of these electrodes. In the nanocrystalline TiFe0.25Ni0.75, powder discharge capacity up to 155 mA h g−1 was measured (at 40 mA g−1 discharge current). On the other hand, a partial substitution of Ni by Al or Mn in LaNi5−xMx alloy leads to an increase in discharge capacity. The alloying elements such as Al, Mn and Co greatly improved the cycle life of LaNi5 material. For example, in the nanocrystalline LaNi3.75Mn0.75Al0.25Co0.25 powder, discharge capacity up to 258 mA h g−1 was measured (at 40 mA g−1 discharge current). The studies show, that electrochemical properties of Ni–MH batteries are the function of the microstructure and the chemical composition of used electrode materials.  相似文献

Iron-doped Pr2Ni0.8Cu0.2O4 was studied as a new mixed electronic and oxide-ionic conductor for use as an oxygen-permeating membrane. An X-ray diffraction analysis suggested that a single phase K2NiF4-type structure was obtained in the composition range from x = 0 to 0.05 in Pr2Ni0.8  xCu0.2FexO4. It is considered that the doped Fe is partially substituted at the Ni position in Pr2NiO4. The prepared Pr2NiO4-based oxide exhibited a dominant hole conduction in the PO2 range from 1 to 10 21 atm. The electrical conductivity of Pr2Ni0.8−xCu0.2FexO4 is as high as 102 S cm 1 in the temperature range of 873–1223 K and it gradually decreased with the increasing amount of Fe substituted for Ni. The oxygen permeation rate was significantly enhanced by the Fe doping and it was found that the highest oxygen permeation rate (60 μmol min 1 cm 2) from air to He was achieved for x = 0.05 in Pr2Ni0.8  xCu0.2FexO4. Since the chemical stability of the Pr2NiO4-based oxide is high, Pr2Ni0.75Cu0.2Fe0.05O4 can be used as the oxygen-separating membrane for the partial oxidation of CH4. It was observed that the oxygen permeation rate was significantly improved by changing from He to CH4 and the observed permeation rate reached a value of 225 μmol min 1 cm 2 at 1273 K for the CH4 partial oxidation.  相似文献

In this study, treatment of an antibiotic compound amoxicillin by medium-high frequency ultrasonic irradiation and/or ozonation has been studied. Ultrasonic irradiation process was carried out in a batch reactor for aqueous amoxicillin solutions at three different frequencies (575, 861 and 1141 kHz). The applied ultrasonic power was 75 W and the diffused power was calculated as 14.6 W/L. The highest removal was achieved at 575 kHz ultrasonic frequency (>99%) with the highest pseudo first order reaction rate constant 0.04 min−1 at pH 10 but the mineralization achieved was around 10%. Presence of alkalinity and humic acid species had negative effect on the removal efficiency (50% decrease). To improve the poor outcomes, ozonation had been applied with or without ultrasound. Ozone removed the amoxicillin at a rate 50 times faster than ultrasound. Moreover, due to the synergistic effect, coupling of ozone and ultrasound gave rise to rate constant of 2.5 min−1 (625 times higher than ultrasound). In the processes where ozone was used, humic acid did not show any significant effect because the rate constant was so high that ozone has easily overcome the scavenging effects of natural water constituents. Furthermore, the intermediate compounds, after the incomplete oxidation mechanisms, has been analyzed to reveal the possible degradation pathways of amoxicillin through ultrasonic irradiation and ozonation applications. The outcomes of the intermediate compounds experiments and the toxicity was investigated to give a clear explanation about the safety of the resulting solution. The relevance of all the results concluded that hybrid advanced oxidation system was the best option for amoxicillin removal.  相似文献

Aberration-corrected high-resolution transmission electron microscopy allows for the delocalization-free observation of atomic motions on metallic surfaces and thus enables measurements of the diffusion of single atoms on the surfaces of nanoscopic objects such as nanoparticles. Using this recently introduced method, the diffusion coefficient for surface self-diffusion of Pt nanoparticles is determined through the fluctuating occupation of the particle's atomic columns. This diffusion coefficient is determined to lie in the range D  (10−17  10−16) cm2/s.  相似文献

Pure and samarium doped ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized by a sonochemical method and characterized by TEM, SEM, EDX, XRD, Pl, and DRS techniques. The average crystallite size of pure and Sm-doped ZnO nanoparticles was about 20 nm. The sonocatalytic activity of pure and Sm-doped ZnO nanoparticles was considered toward degradation of phenazopyridine as a model organic contaminant. The Sm-doped ZnO nanoparticles with Sm concentration of 0.4 mol% indicated a higher sonocatalytic activity (59%) than the pure ZnO (51%) and other Sm-doped ZnO nanoparticles. It was believed that Sm3+ ion with optimal concentration (0.4 mol%) can act as superficial trapping for electrons in the conduction band of ZnO and delayed the recombination of charge carriers. The influence of the nature and concentration of various oxidants, including periodate, hydrogen peroxide, peroxymonosulfate, and peroxydisulfate on the sonocatalytic activity of Sm-doped ZnO nanoparticles was studied. The influence of the oxidants concentration (0.2–1.4 g L−1) on the degradation rate was established by the 3D response surface and the 2D contour plots. The results demonstrated that the utilizing of oxidants in combination with Sm-doped ZnO resulting in rapid removal of contaminant, which can be referable to a dual role of oxidants; (i) scavenging the generated electrons in the conduction band of ZnO and (ii) creating highly reactive radical species under ultrasonic irradiation. It was found that the Sm-doped ZnO and periodate combination is the most efficient catalytic system under ultrasonic irradiation.  相似文献

The present study focused on the synthesis of nanostructured MgO via sonochemical method and its application as sonocatalyst for the decolorization of Basic Red 46 (BR46) dye under ultrasonic irradiation. The sonocatalyst was characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) equipped with energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis (EDX). In the following, the sonocatalytic removal of the dye under different operational conditions was evaluated kinetically on the basis of pseudo first-order kinetic model. The reaction rate of sonocatalyzed decolorization using MgO nanostructures (12.7 × 10−3 min−1) was more efficient than that of ultrasound alone (2.0 × 10−3 min−1). The increased sonocatalyst dosage showed better sonocatalytic activity but the application of excessive dosage should be avoided. The presence of periodate ions substantially increased the decolorization rate from 14.76 × 10−3 to 33.4 × 10−3 min−1. Although the application of aeration favored the decolorization rate (17.8 × 10−3 min−1), the addition of hydrogen peroxide resulted in a considerable decrease in the decolorization rate (9.5 × 10−3 min−1) due to its scavenging effects at specific concentrations. Unlike alcoholic compounds, the addition of phenol had an insignificant scavenging effect on the sonocatalysis. A mineralization rate of 7.4 × 10−3 min−1 was obtained within 120 min. The intermediate byproducts were also detected using GC–MS analysis.  相似文献

Micro- and nano-rods and plates of two 3D, porous Zn(II)-based metal–organic frameworks [Zn(oba)(4-bpdh)0.5]n·(DMF)1.5 (TMU-5) and [Zn(oba)(4-bpmb)0.5]n (DMF)1.5 (TMU-6) were prepared by sonochemical process and characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction and IR spectroscopy. These MOFs were synthesized using a non-linear dicarboxylate (H2oba = 4,4-oxybisbenzoic acid) and two linear N-donor (4-bpdh = 2,5-bis(4-pyridyl)-3,4-diaza-2,4-hexadiene and 4-bpmb = N1,N4-bis((pyridin-4-yl)methylene)benzene-1,4-diamine) ligands by ultrasonic irradiation. Sonication time and concentration of initial reagents influencing size and morphology of nano-structured MOFs, were also studied. Calcination of TMU-5 and TMU-6 at 550 °C under air atmosphere yields ZnO nanoparticles. TMU-5 and TMU-6 exhibited maximum percent adsorption of 96.2% and 92.8% of 100 ppm rhodamine B dye, respectively, which obeys first order reaction kinetics.  相似文献

A simple, low cost and ultrasensitive method for the simultaneous preconcentration and determination of trace amount of auramine-O and malachite green in aqueous media following accumulation on novel and lower toxicity nanomaterials by ultrasound-assisted dispersive solid phase micro-extraction (UA-DSPME) procedure combined with spectrophotometric has been described. The Mn doped ZnS nanoparticles loaded on activated carbon were characterized by Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), particle size distribution, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) analyses and subsequently were used as green and efficient material for dyes accumulation. Contribution of experimental variables such as ultrasonic time, ultrasonic temperature, adsorbent mass, vortex time, ionic strength, pH and elution volume were optimized through experimental design, and while the preconcentrated analytes were efficiently eluted by acetone. Preliminary Plackett–Burman design was applied for selection of most significant factors and giving useful information about their main and interaction part of significant variables like ultrasonic time, adsorbent mass, elution volume and pH were obtained by central composite design combined with response surface analysis and optimum experimental conditions was set at pH of 8.0, 1.2 mg of adsorbent, 150 μL eluent and 3.7 min sonication. Under optimized conditions, the average recoveries (five replicates) for two dyes (spiked at 500.0 ng mL−1) changes in the range of 92.80–97.70% with acceptable RSD% less than 4.0% over a linear range of 3.0–5000.0 ng mL−1 for the AO and MG in water samples with regression coefficients (R2) of 0.9975 and 0.9977, respectively. Acceptable limits of detection of 0.91 and 0.61 ng mL−1 for AO and MG, respectively and high accuracy and repeatability are unique advantages of present method to improve the figures of merit for their accurate determination at trace level in complicated materials.  相似文献

The degradation of Acid Blue 92 (AB92) solution was investigated using a sonocatalytic process with pure and neodymium (Nd)-doped ZnO nanoparticles. The nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The 1% Nd-doped ZnO nanoparticles demonstrated the highest sonocatalytic activity for the treatment of AB92 (10 mg/L) with a degradation efficiency (DE%) of 86.20% compared to pure ZnO (62.92%) and sonication (45.73%) after 150 min. The results reveal that the sonocatalytic degradation followed pseudo-first order kinetics. An empirical kinetic model was developed using nonlinear regression analysis to estimate the pseudo-first-order rate constant (kapp) as a function of the operational parameters, including the initial dye concentration (5–25 mg/L), doped-catalyst dosage (0.25–1 g/L), ultrasonic power (150–400 W), and dopant content (1–6% mol). The results from the kinetic model were consistent with the experimental results (R2 = 0.990). Moreover, DE% increases with addition of potassium periodate, peroxydisulfate, and hydrogen peroxide as radical enhancers by generating more free radicals. However, the addition of chloride, carbonate, sulfate, and t-butanol as radical scavengers declines DE%. Suitable reusability of the doped sonocatalyst was proven for several consecutive runs. Some of the produced intermediates were also detected by GC–MS analysis. The phytotoxicity test using Lemna minor (L. minor) plant confirmed the considerable toxicity removal of the AB92 solution after treatment process.  相似文献

A simple method for synthesis of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) using Aspergillum sp. WL-Au was presented in this study. According to UV–vis spectra and transmission electron microscopy images, the shape and size of AuNPs were affected by different parameters, including buffer solution, pH, biomass and HAuCl4 concentrations. Phosphate sodium buffer was more suitable for extracellular synthesis of AuNPs, and the optimal conditions for AuNPs synthesis were pH 7.0, biomass 100 mg/mL and HAuCl4 3 mM, leading to the production of spherical and pseudo-spherical nanoparticles. The biosynthesized AuNPs possessed excellent catalytic activities for the reduction of 2-nitrophenol, 3-nitrophenol, 4-nitrophenol, o-nitroaniline and m-nitroaniline in the presence of NaBH4, and the catalytic rate constants were calculated to be 6.3×10−3 s−1, 5.5×10−3 s−1, 10.6×10−3 s−1, 8.4×10−3 s−1 and 13.8×10−3 s−1, respectively. The AuNPs were also able to catalyze the decolorization of various azo dyes (e.g. Cationic Red X-GRL, Acid Orange II and Acid scarlet GR) using NaBH4 as the reductant, and the decolorization rates reached 91.0–96.4% within 7 min. The present study should provide a potential candidate for green synthesis of AuNPs, which could serve as efficient catalysts for aromatic pollutants degradation.  相似文献

NiO–C nanocomposite was prepared by a spray pyrolysis method using a mixture of Ni(NO3)2 and citric acid solution at 600 °C. The microstructure and morphology of the NiO–C composite were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) mapping, and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The results showed that the NiO nanoparticles were surrounded by amorphous carbon. Electrochemical tests demonstrated that the NiO–C nanocomposites exhibited better capacity retention (382 mAh g 1 for 50 cycles) than that of pure NiO (141 mAh g 1 for 50 cycles), which was also prepared by spray pyrolysis using only Ni(NO3)2 as precursor. The enhanced capacity retention can be mainly attributed to the NiO–C composite structure, composed of NiO nanoparticles surrounded by carbon, which can accommodate the volume changes during charge–discharge and improve the electrical conductivity between the NiO nanoparticles.  相似文献

The effect of chlorides of magnesium, calcium, strontium and barium on the temperature of the sound velocity maximum (TSVM) of water, Tw, has been studied by determining the ultrasonic velocity using a single crystal variable path interferometer working at 3 MHz. The accuracy in ultrasonic velocity measurement is ± 0.05 m s 1. The ultrasonic velocity measurements were carried out at ≃ 2 °C intervals over a range of 5 °C to either side of TSVM of the solutions. The accuracy in fixing TSVM is ± 0.2 °C. The shifts in TSVM of water due to the addition of MgCl2 and CaCl2, (ΔTobs), are found to be positive at low concentrations becoming maxima around the weight fraction w  2.3 × 10 2 for MgCl2 and w  3.8 × 10 2 for CaCl2 and becoming negative around w  5.6 × 10 2 for MgCl2 and w  3.8 × 10 2 for CaCl2. (ΔTobs) for MgCl2 > CaCl2 > SrCl2 > BaCl2 indicating that the strength of the structural interactions in modifying the hydrogen-bonded structure of water is in the order Mg2+ > Ca2+ > Sr2+ > Ba2+. The results are explained in the light of the structural properties of the anions and cations in the solutions in modifying the three dimensional hydrogen-bonded structure of water.  相似文献

In the present research work deals with the preparation of 1-butoxy-4-nitrobenzene was successfully carried out by 4-nitrophenol with n-butyl bromide using aqueous potassium carbonate and catalyzed by a new multi-site phase-transfer catalyst (MPTC) viz., N1,N4-diethyl-N1,N1,N4,N4-tetraisopropylbutane-1,4-diammonium dibromide, under ultrasonic (40 kHz, 300 W) assisted organic solvent condition. The pseudo first-order kinetic equation was applied to describe the overall reaction. Under ultrasound irradiation (40 kHz, 300 W) in a batch reactor, it shows that the overall reaction greatly enhanced with ultrasound irradiation than without ultrasound. The present study provides a method to synthesize nitro aromatic ethers by ultrasound assisted liquid–liquid multi-site phase-transfer catalysis condition.  相似文献

Sonocatalytic degradation experiments were carried out to determine the effects of glass beads (GBs) and single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) on ibuprofen (IBP) and sulfamethoxazole (SMX) removal using low and high ultrasonic frequencies (28 and 1000 kHz). In the absence of catalysts, the sonochemical degradation at pH 7, optimum power of 0.18 W mL−1, and a temperature of 15 °C was higher (79% and 72%) at 1000 kHz than at 28 kHz (45% and 33%) for IBP and SMX, respectively. At the low frequency (28 kHz) H2O2 production increased significantly, from 10 μM (no GBs) to 86 μM in the presence of GBs (0.1 mm, 10 g L−1); however, no enhancement was achieved at 1000 kHz. In contrast, the H2O2 production increased from 10 μM (no SWNTs) to 31 μM at 28 kHz and from 82 μM (no SWNTs) to 111 μM at 1000 kHz in the presence of SWNTs (45 mg L−1). Thus, maximum removals of IBP and SMX were obtained in the presence of a combination of GBs and SWNTs at the low frequency (94% and 88%) for 60 min contact time; however, >99% and 97% removals were achieved for 40 and 60 min contact times at the high frequency for IBP and SMX, respectively. The results indicate that both IBP and SMX degradation followed pseudo-first-order kinetics. Additionally, the enhanced removal of IBP and SMX in the presence of catalysts was because GBs and SWNTs increased the number of free OH radicals due to ultrasonic irradiation and the adsorption capacity increase with SWNT dispersion.  相似文献

The AgFeO2 delafossite was reported as a potential photocatalyst as well as its intense recombination rate of photogeneration charge carriers. In this work, we utilized plasmon modification method to enhance the photocatalytic activity of AgFeO2. Silkworm cocoon like Ag/AgFeO2 nanocatalyst was synthesized by an ultrasonic enhanced reduction method. XRD, HRTEM and XPS results demonstrated the well dispersed Ag0 on the surface of AgFeO2. Under visible light irradiation, 20 mg/L of ARG solution was completely degraded by 0.25 g/L of Ag/AgFeO2 photocatalyst with pseudo-first-order rate of 0.040 min−1. The inducement of the prominently enhanced photocatalytic activity of Ag/AgFeO2 was deeply analyzed. Significant decreased intensity of photoluminescence (PL) spectra suggested the superior separation of photo-induced electrons and holes of Ag/AgFeO2 as compared to that of AgFeO2. The free h+ was confirmed as the dominant active species for the pollutant degradation. Ultimately, the photodegradation mechanism was proposed and discussed.  相似文献
