In this paper some basic properties of wave numbers of the longitudinal and transverse plane waves are treated. The existence theorems of eigenfrequencies of the interior homogeneous boundary-value problems of steady oscillations of binary mixtures for thermoelastic solids are proved. The connection between plane waves and eigenfrequencies is established. This paper dedicated to my teacher Professor Mikheil Basheleishvili on the occasion of his 80th birthday.  相似文献

This paper presents the results of experimental verification of Sretenskii’s linear theory of gravity waves in a container partially filled with water and oscillating horizontally according to the harmonic law. It has been shown that this theory predicts the existence of an infinite ordered countable set of generation modes of unstable waves. It has been experimentally confirmed that the waves are unstable if the container oscillation frequency is equal to the frequency of any odd standing-wave mode. At even eigenfrequencies of container oscillations, the theory predicts wave amplitudes up to a constant term. Experiment has shown that, in this case, the waves are stable and have minimum amplitudes.  相似文献

Conventional plane harmonic waves decay in direction of propagation, but unconventional harmonic waves grow in the direction of propagation. While a single unconventional wave cannot be a solution to a physically meaningful boundary value problem, these waves may have an essential contribution to the overall solution of a problem as long as this is a superposition of unconventional and conventional waves. A fourth order diffusion equation with proper thermodynamic structure, and the Burnett equations of rarefied gas dynamics exhibit conventional and unconventional waves. Steady state oscillating boundary value problems are considered to discuss the interplay of conventional and unconventional waves. Results show that as long as the second law of thermodynamics is valid, unconventional waves may contribute to the overall solution, which, however is dominated by conventional waves, and behaves as these.  相似文献

This paper concerns with the coupled linear dynamical theory of elasticity for solids with double porosity. Basic properties of plane harmonic waves are established. Radiation conditions of regular vectors are given. Basic internal and external boundary value problems (BVPs) of steady vibrations are formulated, and finally, uniqueness theorems for regular (classical) solutions of these BVPs are proved.  相似文献

Analytical solutions are obtained for two problems of transverse internal waves in a viscous fluid contacting with a flat layer of a fixed porous medium. In the first problem, the waves are considered which are caused by the motion of an infinite flat plate located on the fluid surface and performing harmonic oscillations in its plane. In the second problem, the waves are caused by periodic shear stresses applied to the free surface of the fluid. To describe the fluid motion in the porous medium, the unsteady Brinkman equation is used, and the motion of the fluid outside the porous medium is described by the Navier–Stokes equation. Examples of numerical calculations of the fluid velocity and filtration velocity profiles are presented. The existence of fluid layers with counter-directed velocities is revealed.  相似文献

In this paper, the problem of diffraction of time harmonic, electromagnetic waves by a thin ideally conducting disk lying at the plane interface of two different media is considered. In this analysis, the incident wave is a plane wave travelling in a direction perpendicular to the plane interface of the two media. A Hertz vector formulation is applied to reduce our electromagnetic diffraction problem to a system of two scalar problems which are solved by the help of two pairs of Fredholm integral equations of the second kind. Low frequency approximations to the tangential components of the magnetic intensity associated with the diffracted field at the surfaces of the disk, the induced surface current density on the disk and the scattering cross section are obtained.  相似文献

Shear to longitudinal mode conversion via second harmonic generation is studied theoretically and computationally for plane waves in a two-dimensional, adhesive, hexagonally close-packed microscale granular medium. The model includes translational and rotational degrees of freedom, as well as normal and shear contact interactions. We consider fundamental frequency plane waves in all three linear modes, which have infinite spatial extent and travel in one of the high-symmetry crystal directions. The generated second harmonic waves are longitudinal for all cases. For the lower transverse–rotational mode, an analytical expression for the second harmonic amplitude, which is derived using a successive approximations approach, reveals the presence of particular resonant and antiresonant wave numbers, the latter of which is prohibited if rotations are not included in the model. By simulating a lattice with adhesive contact force laws, we study the effectiveness of the theoretical analysis for non-resonant, resonant, and antiresonant cases. This work is suitable for the analysis of microscale and statically compressed macroscale granular media, and should inspire future studies on nonlinear two- and three-dimensional granular systems in which interparticle shear coupling and particle rotations play a significant role.  相似文献

The propagation of plane harmonic waves through an interface between viscoelastic media is considered using the equations of field theory of defects, the kinematic identities for an elastic continuum with defects, and the dynamic equations of gauge theory. The reflection and refraction coefficients of elastic displacement waves and the waves of a defect field characterized by a dislocation density tensor and a defect flux tensor are determined. Dependences of the obtained quantities on the parameters of the interfacing media are analyzed.  相似文献

The propagation of plane harmonic waves in a thermoelastic medium with heat-flux relaxation is studied; in particular, the dependences of the temperature and displacement on the coordinate are analyzed in a coupled formulation. The dependences of the group and phase velocities on frequency are investigated. The influence of the frequency and parameters of the material on the amplitude of thermoelastic waves is examined. The field equations governing the propagation of waves in an incompressible liquid-saturated porous medium are investigated and a general solution is presented. It has been revealed that coupled longitudinal and transverse waves propagate in the porous medium. The propagation of transverse waves in the fluid phase is completely due to the interaction between the solid and fluid phases. The dispersion relationship and attenuation features are discussed. Unlike other investigations, all explicit forms of the arguments are derived. The reflection of the plane harmonic waves at the plane, traction-free boundary, which shows the influence of the dissipation on the velocity, and the attenuation coefficients of the reflected waves is studied. It is of interest that pore pressure is produced in the process of reflection, even in the case of the incidence of transverse waves.  相似文献

The propagation of plane harmonic waves in viscoelastic and elastoviscoplastic materials are studied using the equations of the field theory of defects, the kinematic identities for an elastic continuum with defects, and the dynamic equations of gauge theory. The paper discusses the results of theoretical and numerical analysis of the interaction of nonlinear elastic plane harmonic waves in a composite material whose nonlinear properties are described by modeling it with a two-phase mixture. The interaction of two transverse vertically polarized harmonic waves is studied using the method of slowly varying amplitudes. The truncated and evolutionary equations as well as the Manley-Rowe relations are derived. The mechanism of energy pumping from a strong pumping wave with frequency ω to a weak signal wave with frequency 3ω is analyzed. It is proved that elliptically polarized finite-amplitude inhomogeneous plane waves may not propagate in an elastic material subject to the constraint of incompressibility. The waves considered are harmonic in time and exponentially attenuated in a direction distinct from the direction of propagation. A summary on transistors and some facts on nanocomposite materials and their classical models are provided. New models used here for computer simulation are described. Results from a theoretical study of the interaction of cubic nonlinear harmonic elastic plane waves in a Murnaghan material are presented. The interaction of two harmonic waves is analyzed using the method of slowly varying amplitudes. The mechanism of energy pumping from a strong pump wave to a weak signal wave is examined. 在规定的气象水文条件下,水陆两栖飞机起飞和降落的能力是决定其性能的重要因素,即耐波性能。采用ALE方法对流体域进行描述,运用基于微幅波理论的动边界数值造波方法模拟了不同波高和不同波长的动态海平面波浪,通过添加质量阻尼的消波方法抑制了固壁边界反射波对造波结果的影响,并采用罚函数耦合方法描述飞机与水体的耦合作用,研究了水陆两栖飞机在不同海情条件下波浪面上降落的纵摇运动、升沉运动以及底部压力等运动学和动力学特性,分析了水陆两栖飞机入水波浪的波长及波高对水陆两栖飞机耐波性能的影响,为飞机结构设计、水上降落操作规则制订及水陆两栖飞机耐波性物理水池试验提供参考。  相似文献

Subject of the investigation is the stress distribution and the dynamic stress concentration factor at the surface of a semi-circular cavity in a half space excited by plane harmonic SH waves.
