We study the cross sections σi, i?1, σi, i?2, and σ i, i?3 of capture of one, two, and three electrons by boron ions with charges i=1?5 and velocities V=(1.83?5.50)V0 in gaseous media with atomic numbers Zt varying from 1 to 54. The oscillatory form of the Zt dependence of electron capture cross section by boron ions, which has been established for lighter ions, is confirmed.  相似文献

The cross sections σnl for ionization of hydrogen-like ions by heavy particles from the nl = 3s, 3p, 3d, 4s and 4p states have been calculated in the Born approximation. The exciton-exciton (Exc-Exc) inelastic collision cross sections for the different semiconductors CdS, ZnO, CdSe, Si and Cu2O have been calculated in the Born approximation. The electron-loss cross sections σ i, i + 1 and the electron-capture cross sections σ i, i ? 1 for carbon ions with energies of 35–330 keV/nucleon in hydrogen and neon are determined from experimental data. It is demonstrated that, for particle energies which satisfy the condition σ i, i + 1 = σ i, i ? 1 or σ i, i ? 1 = σ i ? 1, i , the average equilibrium ion charge can be evaluated without solving the system of differential equations for charge exchange. The dependence of the average equilibrium ion charge on the ion energy is investigated for carbon ions.  相似文献

Multielectron ionization of neutral atoms by fast positive ions is considered in terms of the independent particle model. A relatively simple technique for calculating the multielectron ionization probabilities and cross sections through the impact parameter is suggested in which one-electron ionization probabilities are represented as normalized exponentials p nl(b) = p nl(b) = p nl(0)exp(?αnl b), where b is the impact parameter and n and l are quantum numbers of the target atomic shell. Exponent αnl is determined from the Born one-electron ionization cross section for target atoms, and preexponential p nl(0) (the ionization probability at a zero impact parameter) is found from a geometrical model. This technique provides the normalization condition p nl(b) ≤ 1 irrespective of the velocity and charge of striking ions and makes it possible to calculate the one-, two-, and three-electron ionization cross sections, which, when added up, make a major contribution to the total cross section, up to a factor of 2. The results of our computations are compared with experimental data and analytical results of other authors.  相似文献

We continue to verify the method for calculating the scattering cross sections that is based on the Gaussian approximation of path integrals upon calculation of the electronic excitation cross sections. For this purpose, we calculate the electronic excitation cross sections of the 1s → 2s, 2p, 3s, 3p, and 3d transitions in the hydrogen atom using more exact Gaussian approximations for the Coulomb interaction and atomic states. The results show that this method allows one to obtain good agreement with data available in the literature. Comparison with our previous data shows that the use of the refined Gaussian expansions improves the calculation results.  相似文献

The electron loss and electron capture cross sections σ i,i+m and σ i,im for boron ions and atoms traveling at the velocities V=1.19 and 1.83 a.u. in H2, He, N2, Ne, Ar, and Xe are measured. The known experimental data on these cross sections at velocities near the cross-section maximum are analyzed. It is found that the electron loss cross sections can be described by a formula which was previously derived in the free-collision approximation and takes into account features of both the ions and the ambient atoms. As the nuclear charge Z t of the ambient atoms increases, the cross sections vary nonmonotonically, increasing on average as Zt t 1/2 . A formula based on the model of independent electrons is proposed for electron capture by ions with small values of the charge i. It describes the dependence of the electron capture cross section σ i,i−1 on the mean binding energy of an electron in an ion with the charge i−1. The total electron capture cross section σ i,i−1 is proportional to the number of vacancies in the unfilled electron shell nearest the nucleus. Electron-transfer processes are studied in thermal collisions of Rydberg atoms with alkaline-earth Ca(4s 2), Sr(5s 2), and Ba(6s 2) atoms capable of forming negative ions with a weakly bound outermost p-electron. We consider the ion-pair formation and resonant quenching of highly excited atomic states caused by transitions between Rydberg covalent and ionic terms of a quasi-molecule produced in collisions of particles. The contributions of these reaction channels to the total depopulation cross section of Rydberg states of Rb(nl) and Ne(nl) atoms as functions of the principal quantum number n are compared for selectively excited nl-levels with l ? n and for states with large orbital quantum numbers l = n ? 1, n ? 2. It is shown that the contribution from resonant quenching dominates at small values of n, and the ion-pair formation process begins to dominate with increasing n. The values and positions of the maxima of cross sections for both processes strongly depend on the electron affinity of an alkaline-earth atom and on the orbital angular momentum l of a highly excited atom. It is shown that in the case of Rydberg atoms in states with large ln ? 1, the rate constants of ion-pair formation and collisional quenching are considerably lower than those for nl-levels with l ? n.  相似文献

Projectile (Z 1) and target (Z 2)K-vacancy production cross sections induced by 3.6-, 4.75-, and 5.9-MeV/amu238U ions in selected targets between C and U are reported. The cross sections are discussed within the context of the molecular model of inner-shell vacancy production in heavy-ion-atom collisions. The measured 1sσ and 2pσ excitation cross sections are compared with semiempirical formulas, and with the perturbed-stationary-states calculations of Betz et al. The dependence of these cross sections onZ u =Z1+Z 2 agrees well with the Betz calculations. However, the measured cross sections are factors of 2 to 4 (1sσ) and 4 to 5 (2pσ) larger than the theoretical values.  相似文献

An empirical correlation for density of lithium iodide (aq) with pressure, temperature and molality was derived. The experiments were carried out at molalities m = 0.11053, 0.32532, 0.70013, 1.40459, 2.95059, and 4.88147 mol kg 1 of lithium iodide.  相似文献

Using objective physical criteria for data reliability, cross sections of partial photoneutron reactions (γ, 1n), (γ, 2n) and (γ, 3n) that are free of the shortcomings of neutron multiplicity sorting methods used on beams of quasimonoenergetic annihilation photons are obtained for 141Pr and 186W nuclei. Evaluation is performed using the experimental–theoretical method (ETM), based on the experimental cross section of neutron yield reaction σexp(γ, xn) = σexp(γ, 1n) + 2 σexp(γ, 2n) + 3 σexp(γ, 3n) + … and ratios F i theor= σtheor(γ, in)/σtheor(γ, xn) calculated within the combined model (CM) of photonuclear reactions, which stipulates that σeval(γ, in) = F i theor σexp(γ, xn). It is found that for 141Pr and 186W, ratios F exp i do not contradict the data reliability criteria only at energies up to ~21 and ~22 MeV, respectively. At the same time, there are notable discrepancies between F i theor and F exp i, and thus between the evaluated and experimental cross sections of reactions. It is shown that the discrepancies between the evaluated and experimental cross sections are due to the assumed unreliable experimental distribution of neutrons in the channels with multiplicities 1, 2, and 3.  相似文献

Experimental photonuclear reaction cross sections obtained in experiments using quasimonoenergetic annihilation, monoenergetic tagged photons, and bremsstrahlung γ-radiation are analyzed using physical criteria for the reliability of data on the 89Y nucleus. It is found that the reliability of data on the cross sections of partial reactions (γ, 1n) and (γ, 2n), obtained by means of photoneutron multiplicity sorting, is highly doubtful. Reliable cross sections of reactions (γ, 1n) and (γ, 2n) are obtained using the experimental–theoretical method (ETM) for evaluating using both experimental cross sections of neutron yield reaction σexp(γ, xn) that are free of neutron multiplicity problems, and theoretically calculated F i theor ratios of the cross sections of definite (i) partial reactions to cross section σtheor(γ, xn). It is shown that the evaluated cross sections differ noticeably from the experimental data.  相似文献

The correlation function formula for the dynamic conductivity of a system of non-interacting electrons in the field of impurities is analyzed in terms of proper connected diagrams. By selecting those diagrams appropriate in the region of weak coupling and low impurity concentration, a set of coupled equations for the energy broadening γ (ω, ε, ns) and the energy shift Δ(ω, ε, ns) is derived, where both γ and Δ depend on the frequency ω of a probing field, the energy ε of the electron, and the concentration, ng, of impurities. With the assumption of a finite range potential, these equations are solved. It is found that γ (ω, ns) is smaller than that extrapolated value which the conventional expression γ0 for the low-concentration collision frequency would predict, in the entire region studied, that the difference γ0-γ becomes appreciable when the ratio of the average time between scatterings, τc, to the average duration of a scattering, τd, is 100 or less, that γ (ω, ns) decreases monotonically from its static value γ (0, ns), and becomes vanishingly small in the region ω≈1/τd, and that in the static limit (ω=0), γ=γ0[1?(2/π) (γ0τd)+…], that the energy shift Δ is positive, and increases from 0 and reach a peak of magnitude γ0 as ω is raised from 0. By using the γ and Δ obtained, the dynamic conductivity σ(ω, ns) for degenerated electrons is calculated. The deviation, σ-σ0, from the conventional expression σ0=(?i) (nee2/M) [ω-iΓ0]?1, (ne]=number density of electrons), for 0°K, is appreciable when the ratio τcd is 100 or less. The field-term correction, which arises from the modification of the scattering due to the probing field, is found to be negligible in the entire region studied.  相似文献

We have calculated theoretical transition rates and transition energies for the states of the excited electron configurations, 1s 2s nl and 1s 2p nl, of lithium-like argon. The values of n considered range from n=2 to n=4 with all allowed values of l included, l=0 to l=n-1. We present numerical results for the theoretical lifetimes, transition energies, fluorescence yields, and nonradiative branching ratios. These quantities are related to the dielectronic recombination rates and cross sections of helium-like argon.  相似文献

The cross sections of partial photoneutron reactions are evaluated for the 63,65Cu and 80Se isotopes. The cross sections are free of systematic uncertainties from shortcomings of the experimental methods for neutron multiplicity sorting based on measurements of neutron energy used in experiments with quasimonoenergetic annihilation photon beams. An experimental-theoretical method is used to evaluate cross sections σeval(γ, in)= Fitheor σexp(γ, xn), where ratios Fitheor = σtheor(γ, in)/σtheor(γ, xn) = σtheor(γ, in)/σtheor[(γ, 1n) + 2(γ, 2n) + …] are calculated using a combined model of photonuclear reactions, and σexp(γ, xn) is the experimental cross section of the neutron yield reaction free from neutron multiplicity sorting problems. The cross sections are evaluated for reactions (γ, 1n) and (γ, 2n) for the 63,65Cu and 80Se isotopes, and for the total photoneutron reaction σ(γ, Sn) = σ[(γ, 1n) + (γ, 2n) + …]. It is shown that noticeable deviations of the experimental cross sections from the evaluated values result from the unreliable sorting of neutrons between the channels with multiplicities 1 and 2.  相似文献

使用基于相对论多组态方法的FAC程序,研究了类钠Ni17+(3s)离子通过双激发态Ni16+(3pnl,3dnl)(Δn=0激发)的双电子复合过程,得到了态选择的双电子复合截面和速率系数,并与文献中的实验和理论数据进行了对比.结果发现,计算通过3p3/210l和3p1/211l共振态的双电子复合积分截面在实验误差范围内与实验测量很好地符合,并好于全相对论的多体微扰理论计算结果.结合量子亏损理论,发现包含高里德伯态的共振双激发态的辐射跃迁和自电离速率具有较好的标度关系,利用该关系给出了近激发阈值的所有共振态的双电子复合积分截面和速率系数.比较3pnl和3dnl两个系列,发现在低温(大约小于100eV)等离子体情况下前者速率系数比后者大,更高的温度后者大.  相似文献

J/ψ production at 40 GeV/c by π±, K±, p and p incident on hydrogen has been studied and results compared with those obtained on tungsten in the same experiment. On hydrogen, J/ψ cross-section ratios relative to π? have been measured to be (for xF > 0) σ(π?) : σ(π+) : σ(p) : σ(p) = 1 : (0.78 ± 0.09) : (0.83 ± 0.35) : (0.07 ± 0.04). The suppression of the proton induced cross sections shows the importance of calence quark-antiquark fusiin J/ψ production at this energy (i.e. MJ2/ψ/s=0.13).  相似文献

Alignment destroying collision cross sections of the Ne levels 2p 4 and 2s 2 were measured by investigation of the zero-field mode crossing resonances of a multimode He/Ne-laser operating on the 3s 2→2p 4 (λ=633nm) and 2s 2→2p 1 (λ=1.52μm) Ne transitions respectively. The measurements were carried out with the aid of a small sample cell which was placed inside the laser cavity and filled with pure Neon or a mixture of the He and Ne. Comparison of the measured cross sections concerning the 2p 4 level with corresponding Hanle effect measurements shows that in multimode operation velocity changing collisions do not produce an additional broadening of the mode crossing resonances. The alignment destroying cross section is almost temperature independent in the case of He collisions; it decreases, however, with increasing temperature in the case of Ne. Due to the allowed dipol transition between the 2s 2 and the ground state of Ne, radiation trapping and resonance interaction takes place if the gas filling contains Ne. The effect on the mode crossing resonance width is investigated.  相似文献

Absolute cross sections for production of the 1s 22s2p 5 and 1s 22s 02p 6 configurations of neon in collisions of H+, He+, and Ne+ with Ne and He have been measured by observation of radiative transitions in the spectral range of the vacuum ultraviolet for energies between 50 keV and 1 MeV. Projectile and target emission have been separated. The dependence of the cross sections upon impact velocity is discussed and compared with theoretical calculations. The relative population of the1 P 1 and3 P 2, 1, 0 and the3 P 2, 1, 0 fine structure levels of the 1s 22s2p 5 configuration is measured as function of impact velocity for the different projectile target combinations.  相似文献
