The host-guest complexation between p-sulfoniccalix[8]arene (SC8A) and norfloxacin (NFLX) in aqueous solution was investigated by fluorescence spectroscopy. Strong fluorescence intensity of the NFLX aqueous solution alone and obvious fluorescence quenching of NFLX solution in the presence of SC8A were observed. The fluorescence lifetimes of NFLX and SC8A-NFLX inclusion complex were determined and the effect of temperature on SC8A-NFLX inclusion complex was studied. The static quenching of the inclusion was obtained, that is the SC8A can form a nonfluorescent ground-state inclusion complex with NFLX. As the results show, the combined ratio (n) was 1:1 and association constant K was 1.17×105 L/mol. Based on the experimental results, the mechanism of the inclusion complex was explored. The space matching, electrostatic force and hydrogen bond play important effects in the inclusion process. Subsequently, the addition of bovine serum albumin (BSA) solution led to the recovery of fluorescence intensity. It is indicated that BSA can liberate the NFLX into the solution by destructing the SC8A-NFLX inclusion complex. Hence SC8A may be used for controlled-release drug delivery in the pharmaceutical industry.  相似文献

A series of new oxovanadium(IV) Schiff-base complexes of the type [VO(L)2], [L?=?N-(4-n-alkoxysalicylaldimine)-4′-dodecyloxyaniline, n?=?6, 8, 16, and 18] have been synthesized. The compounds were characterized by FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, UV-Vis, FAB-mass, and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The mesomorphic behavior of the compounds was studied by polarized optical microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry. The compounds are all highly thermally stable exhibiting smectic mesomorphism. Non-electrolytic nature of the complexes was ascertained by solution electrical conductance measurements. Cyclic voltammetry revealed a quasireversible single-electron response for VO(V)/VO(IV) couple. A νV=O stretching mode at ~970?cm?1 indicates absence of any intermolecular V=O?···?V=O interactions. Density functional theory study was carried out using DMol3 at BLYP/DNP level to determine energy optimized structure revealed a distorted square pyramidal geometry for the vanadyl complexes.  相似文献

A series of transition metal complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Fe(III) and VO(IV) have been synthesized involving the Schiff base, 2,3-dimethyl-1-phenyl-4-(2-hydroxy-3-methoxy benzylideneamino)-pyrazol-5-one(L), obtained by condensation of 4-aminoantipyrine with 3-methoxy salicylaldehyde. Structural features were obtained from their FT-IR, UV–vis, NMR, ESI Mass, elemental analysis, magnetic moments, molar conductivity and thermal analysis studies. The Schiff base acts as a monovalent bidentate ligand, coordinating through the azomethine nitrogen and phenolic oxygen atom. Based on elemental and spectral studies six coordinated geometry is assigned to Co(II), Ni(II), Fe(III) and VO(IV) complexes and four coordinated geometry is assigned to Zn(II) complex. The interaction of metal complexes with Calf thymus DNA were carried out by UV–VIS titrations, fluorescence spectroscopy and viscosity measurements. The binding constants (Kb) of the complexes were determined as 5?×?105 M?1 for Co(II) complex, 1.33?×?104 M?1 for Ni(II) complex, 3.33?×?105 M?1 for Zn(II) complex, 1.25?×?105 M?1 for Fe(III) complex and 8?×?105 M?1 for VO(IV) complex. Quenching studies of the complexes indicate that these complexes strongly bind to DNA. Viscosity measurements indicate the binding mode of complexes with CT DNA by intercalation through groove. The ligand and it’s metal complexes were screened for their antimicrobial activity against bacteria. The results showed the metal complexes to be biologically active, while the ligand to be inactive.  相似文献

Two new zinc complexes, namely Zn(L1)ClCH2NO(1) and {Zn(L2)CH2NO}n?N(CH3)3?ClO4(2) (L1 = 3,5-di(1H-imidazol-1-yl)pyridine L2 = 1,3,5-tris(1-imidazolyl) benzene), have been synthesized, and characterized by IR spectra, elemental analysis, and a single crystal X-ray diffraction. Fluorescence spectroscopy indicated that two complexes presented strong DNA binding affinity constants to fish sperm DNA (FS-DNA). Gel electrophoresis assay demonstrated the ability of the complex to cleave the HL-60 DNA. Apoptotic study showed the complex exhibited significant cancer cell(KB) inhibitory rate.  相似文献

The complex formation of bis(18‐crown‐6)stilbene ( 1 ) and its supramolecular donor‐acceptor complex with N,N′‐bis(ammonioethyl) 1,2‐di(4‐pyridyl)ethylene derivative ( 2 ) with alkali and alkaline‐earth metal perchlorates has been studied using absorption, steady‐state fluorescence, and femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy. The formation of 1 ?Mn+ and 1 ?(Mn+)2 complexes in acetonitrile was demonstrated. The weak long‐wavelength charge‐transfer absorption band of 1 · 2 completely vanishes upon complexation with metal cations because of disruption of the pseudocyclic structure. The spectroscopic and luminescence parameters, stability constants, and 2‐stage dissociation constants were calculated. The initial stage of a recoordination process was found in the excited complexes 1 ?M+ and 1 ?(M+)2 (M = Li, Na). The pronounced fluorescence quenching of 1 · 2 is explained by very fast back electron transfer (τet = 0.397 ps). The structure of complex 1 · 2 was studied by X‐ray diffraction; stacked ( 1 · 2 )m polymer in which the components were connected by hydrogen bonding and stacking was found in the crystal. These compounds can be considered as novel optical molecular sensors for alkali and alkaline‐earth metal cations.  相似文献

Ternary Cu(II) complexes [Cu(II)(L)(bpy)Cl] 1, [Cu(II)(L)(Phen)Cl] 2 [L = 2,3–dimethyl-1-phenyl-4(2 hydroxy-5-methyl benzylideneamino)-pyrazol-5-one, bpy = 2,2 bipyridine, phen =1,10 phenanthroline) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, UV-Visible, FT-IR, ESR, Mass, thermogravimetric and SEM EDAX techniques. The complexes exhibit octahedral geometry. The interaction of the Cu(II) with cailf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) was explored by using absorption and fluorescence spectroscopic methods. The results revealed that the complexes have an affinity constant for DNA in the order of 104 M?1 and mode of interaction is intercalative mode. The DNA cleavage study showed that the complexes cleaved DNA without any external agent. The interaction of Cu(II) complexes with bovine serum albumin (BSA) was also studied using absorption and fluorescence techniques. The cytotoxic activity of the Cu(II) complexes was probed in HeLa (human breast adenocarcinoma cell line), B16F10 (Murine melanoma cell line) and HEPA1–6 celllines, complex 1 has good cytotoxic activity which is comparable with the doxarubicin drug, with IC50 values ranging from 3 to 12.6 μM. A further molecular docking technique was employed to understand the binding of the complexes towards the molecular target DNA. Investigation of the antioxidative properties showed that the metal complexes have significant radical scavenging activity potency against DPPH radical.  相似文献

The synthesis, magnetic and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) characterisation of isolated, discrete, {Cr n III } antiferromagnetically coupled chain complexes is reported for n = 6 and 7. Previous studies had reported supramolecular linked {Cr n III } x species. For n = 6, the lowest lying total spin state is diamagnetic with S = 1 and 2 first and second excited states, respectively; for n = 7, the lowest lying total spin state is S = 3/2 with S = 1/2 and 5/2 first and second excited states, respectively. The zero-field splittings of these states are well defined by low-temperature, multi-frequency EPR spectroscopy.  相似文献

A new ligand 3-(1H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthrolin-2yl)phenylboronic acid and its (IPPBA) three ruthenium(II) complexes [Ru(phen)2(IPPBA)](ClO4)2 (1), [Ru(bpy)2(IPPBA)](ClO4)2 (2) and [Ru(dmb)2(IPPBA)](ClO4)2 (3) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, UV/VIS, IR, 1H-NMR,13C-NMR and mass spectra. The binding behaviors of the three complexes to calf thymus DNA were investigated by absorption spectra, emission spectroscopy, viscosity measurements, thermal denaturation and photoactivated cleavage. The DNA-binding constants for complexes 1, 2 and 3 have been determined to be 7.9?×?105 M?1, 6.7?×?105 M?1 and 2.9?×?105 M?1. The results suggest that these complexes bound to double-stranded DNA in an intercalation mode. Upon irradiation at 365 nm, three ruthenium complexes were found to promote the cleavage of plasmid pBR322 DNA from super coiled form ? to nicked form ??. Further in the presence of Co2+, the emission of DNA–Ru(ΙΙ) complexes can be quenched. And when EDTA was added, the emission was recovered. The experimental results show that all three complexes exhibited the “on–off–on” properties of molecular “light switch”. The highest Cytotoxicity potential of the complex1 was observed on the Human alveolar adenocarcinoma (A549) cell line. Good agreement was generally found between the spectroscopic techniques and molecular docked model which provides further evidence of groove binding.  相似文献

In this study, we investigated the effect of SiO2 lenses on the output power of InGaN/GaN-based vertical light-emitting diodes (VLEDs; wavelength = 445 nm) and compared the results to those of reference VLEDs without the SiO2 lenses (planar samples). Arrays of SiO2 lenses (pitch = 3 μm, width = 2.5 μm, height = 1.0 μm) were formed on c-plane sapphire substrates. The external quantum efficiency (EQE) of the packaged VLEDs with planar and patterned substrates was characterised. At 5 mA, the EQE of the patterned samples was 150% higher than that of the planar samples. A patterned, N-polar, n-GaN sample contained far fewer nanopipes (approximately 2.2 × 105 cm?2) than a planar n-GaN sample (approximately 2.4 × 106 cm?2). Furthermore, the patterned samples contained far fewer threading dislocations (approximately 1.0 × 108 cm?2) than the planar samples (approximately 5.0 × 108 cm?2). Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images showed that the photoelectrochemical (PEC)-etched patterned samples contained cones that were 150% larger than that of the PEC-etched planar samples. In addition, SEM images, cathode luminescence measurements and finite-difference time-domain simulations were used to characterise the improved light output of the patterned samples.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The interaction between phenformin hydrochloride and bovine serum albumin (BSA) was investigated by the methods of chemiluminescence combined with equilibrium dialysis technique. A novel N-bromosuccinimide (NBS)–eosin Y (EY) chemiluminescence (CL) method was established for the determination of phenformin. The mechanism of this chemiluminescence system was proposed. Optimization studies were performed to determine the phenformin. Under the optimal conditions, the CL intensity was linear for a phenformin concentration over the range of 4.6 × 10?8 to 5.0 × 10?5 g/mL. The detection limit was 1.5 × 10?8 g/mL. The data obtained by the present equilibrium dialysis–CL system were analyzed using the Klotz plot and the Scatchard analysis. The results showed that the Klotz plot and the Scatchard plot are linear with good correlation coefficient, indicating that the phenformin has only one type of binding site on BSA. The binding parameters were the number of the binding sites n (1.02) and the estimated association constant K (2.66 × 104 L/mol). The chemiluminescence system combined with equilibrium dialysis developed in this work demonstrated its use for determination of interaction between drug and protein by using relatively simple instrument.  相似文献

Novel bioactive complexes of Co(II), Cu(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) metal ions with Schiff base ligand derived from histidine and 1,3-indandione were synthesized and thoroughly characterized by various analytical and spectral techniques. The biological investigations were carried out to examine the efficiency of the binding interaction of all the complexes with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA). The binding properties were studied and evaluated quantitatively by Kb and Ksq values using UV-visible, fluorescence spectroscopy and voltammetric techniques. The experimental results revealed that the mode of binding of all the complexes with CT-DNA is via intercalation. It is further verified by viscosity measurements and thermal denaturation experiments. From the results of the cleavage study with pUC19 DNA it is inferred that all the complexes possess excellent cleaving ability. The present investigation proved that the binding interaction of all the complexes are significantly strong and the order of binding strength of the complexes is [Ni(L)2] (Kb = 3.11 × 106 M?1) > [Co(L)2] (Kb = 2.89 × 106 M?1) > [Cu(L)2] (Kb = 2.64 × 106 M?1) > [Zn(L)2] (Kb = 2.41 × 105 M?1). The complexes were also screened for antibacterial and anticandidal activity. The in vitro cytotoxicity of the ligand and complexes on the NIH/3 T3 mouse fibroblast cell lines were examined using CellTiter-Blue® (CTB) Cell viability assay, which unveiled that all the complexes exhibit more potent activities against NIH/3 T3 cells. Among all the complexes [Zn(L)2] complex showed the maximum efficiency.  相似文献

Three novel metal(II) complexes, CoL2, NiL2 and CuL2 (L = (Z)-4-(2-(1,3-dimethyl-5-oxo-1H-pyrazol-4(5H)-ylidene)hydrazinyl)-1,5-dimethyl-2-phenyl-1,2-dihydropyrazol-3-one were synthesized. Their structures were postulated based on elemental analyses, 1H NMR, ESI-MS, FT-IR spectra and UV-vis spectra. The effect of different central metal(II) ions on absorption bands of the metal(II) complexes in CHCl3 solutions was researched. The result indicates that the bathochromic shift is CuL2 > NiL2 > CoL2. The absorption properties of thin films and thermal stability of these complexes are also discussed. In addition, the optical constants (complex refractive index N=n+ik) and thickness of the complex thin films on polished single-crystal silicon substrates were measured by spectroscopic ellipsometry. Results indicate that the metal(II) complexes would be a promising recording medium candidate for blu-ray recordable optical storage system due to good absorption at 405 nm, high thermal stability and sharp thermal decomposition, and a high n values of 1.35–1.45 and a low k values of 0.33–0.39.  相似文献

Biosensitive mixed ligand complexes of metals (Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II)) with the Schiff bases of L1 and HL2 (L1: obtained through the condensation of 4-aminoantipyrine with furfuraldehyde; HL2: derived from 2-aminophenol and 3-nitrobenzaldehyde) were synthesized. They were characterized using elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility, molar conductance, proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy, infrared, and electron spin resonance techniques. Cyclic voltammogram of the complexes in dimethylsulfoxide solution at 300 K was recorded and their salient features were summarized. The X-band electron spin resonance spectrum of the copper complex in dimethylsulfoxide solution at 300 and 77 K was recorded. The in vitro biological screening effects of the investigated compounds were tested against the bacterial species Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus vulgaris, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa and the fungal species Aspergillus niger, Rhizopus stolonifer, Aspergillus flavus, Rhizoctonia bataicola, and Candida albicans by disc diffusion method. Comparative study of inhibition values of the Schiff bases and their complexes indicates that the complexes exhibit higher antimicrobial activity than the free ligands. DNA binding studies of metal complexes using ultra-violet-visible spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry paved the way to probe their DNA binding abilities. The solvatochromism and superoxide dismutase activity of these complexes have also been examined.  相似文献

Two aza-boron-diquinomethene (aza-BODIQU) complexes bearing phenyl and carbazyl substituents were synthesized and characterized. Their photophysical properties were investigated systematically via spectroscopic and theoretical methods. Both complexes exhibit strong 1π-π* transition absorptions (λ abs = 400–540 nm) and intense fluorescent emissions (λ em = 440–600 nm, Φ PL  = 0.93 and 0.78) in CH2Cl2 solution and in solid state at room temperature. Compared to the complex with phenyl groups, the complex bearing carbazyl groups shows significant bathochromic shift in both absorption and emission. This could be attributed to the larger π-electron conjugation of the carbazole unit and intramolecular charge transfer feature from carbazole to aza-BODIQU component. In addition, the complexes exhibit intense photoluminescence and good stability on antacid, anti-alkali and stability in printing ink samples, which makes them potential dopants for the application of fluorescent security inks.  相似文献

A homologous series of main-chain thermotropic polyesters (PBTn, n = 2, 4, 6) containing biphenyl and triad aromatic ester mesogenic units interconnected by n-methylene spacers in the main chain were prepared from terephthaloyl bis(4-oxybenzoyl chloride) (TOBC) and 4,4′-bis(ω-hydroxyalkyloxy)biphenyls (n-BP, n = 2, 4, 6) by solution polycondensation. The chemical structures of the monomers and PBTn were characterized by spectroscopic techniques and elemental analysis. The solubility, supermolecular structures, thermal and liquid crystalline properties of PBTn were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), polarizing microscopy (PLM), small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), thermogravimetric analyses (TGA), and wide-angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD), and they were found to be closely dependent on the length of the methylene spacers. The increasing methylene units led to improved solubility, broader liquid crystalline range, reduced mesophase-isotropic transition point, higher thermal stability, and decreasing crystallinity. The decomposition temperatures (5% mass loss) of the polymers were above 380°C in nitrogen atmosphere and only PBT4 and PBT6 exhibited smectic mesophases as well as high viscosity in the mesophase.  相似文献

Two mononuclear Cu(I) complexes based on 2-(2-pyridyl)benzimidazolyl derivative ligand containing electron-transporting 1,3,4-oxadiazole group (L), [Cu(L)(PPh3)2](BF4) and [Cu(L)(DPEphos)](BF4), where L?=?1-(4-(5-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl)benzyl)-2-(pyridin-2-yl)benzimidazole and DPEphos?=?bis[2-(diphenylphosphino)phenyl]ether, have been successfully synthesized and characterized. The X-ray crystal structure analyses of the ligand L and the complex [Cu(L)(PPh3)2](BF4) were described. The photophysical properties of the complexes were examined by using UV–vis, photoluminescence spectroscopic analysis. The doped light-emitting devices using the Cu(I) complexes as dopants were fabricated. With no electron transporting layers employed in the devices, yellow electroluminescence from Cu(I) complexes were observed. The devices based on the complex [Cu(L)(DPEphos)](BF4) possess better performance as compared with the devices fabricated by the complex [Cu(L)(PPh3)2](BF4). The devices with the structure of ITO/MoO3 (2 nm)/NPB (40 nm)/CBP:[Cu(L)(DPEphos)](BF4) (8 wt%, 30 nm)/BCP (30 nm)/LiF (1 nm)/Al (150 nm) exhibit a maximum efficiency of 3.04 cd/A and a maximum brightness of 4,758 cd/m2.  相似文献

Raman spectra of HiPco SWNT and SWNT-pyrene films were measured in the 160–1800 cm?1 range. Due to the non-covalent interaction between SWNT and pyrene the most intensive component of the SWNT G mode (1590 cm?1) is downshifted by 2 cm?1 and becomes narrower. Also the intensity of the low-frequency component of the G mode (1550 cm?1) decreases by about 30%. Structures and interaction energies in the complexes of pyrene and zigzag (n, 0) SWNTs [6 ≤ n ≤ 20] were determined at the MP2 level of theory. The BSSE-free geometry optimization of the pyrene-zigzag (12,0) SWNT complex converged to a structure with a 1/2staggered conformation and with an intermolecular distance of 3.5 Å. The BSSE-free interaction energy in the complex is ?30.8 kj mol?1. Increasing of the nanotube diameter leads to a higher interaction energy. This energy becomes equal to ?37.2 kJ mol?1 in the case of a planar carbon surface.  相似文献

Some nickel(II) and zinc(II) complexes of the type [Ni(L)(phen/bipy)]X (1a–6a) and [Zn(L) (phen/bipy)]X (1b–6b) (where L = 2-{(E)-[(4-trimethylsilylethynylphenyl)imino]methyl}-4-(4-nitro phenylethynyl)phenol; phen = 1, 10-phenanthroline, bipy = 2, 2´-bipyridine; X = ClO4 ?, BF4 ?, PF6 ?) have been prepared and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, FTIR, 1H NMR and mass spectral studies. The molecular structure of L was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction studies. The electrochemical behaviour of the Ni(II) complexes indicate that the phen complexes appears at more positive potential as compared to those for bipy complexes, as a consequence of its strong π-acidic character. TGA was carried out to study the thermal behavior of the complexes. Room temperature luminescence is observed for all complexes corresponds to π → π* ILCT transition. The size of the counter anion and heterocyclic coligands phen and bipy shows marked effect on emission properties of the complexes.  相似文献

Photophysical properties of a multidentate tripodal ligand, 5,5′-(2-(((8-hydroxyquinolin-5-yl) methylamino)methyl)-2-methylpropane-1,3-diyl) bis (azanediyl)bis (methylene)diquinolin-8-ol, (TAME5OX), with La3+ and Er3+ ions have been examined for photonics applications. The change in behavior in electronic spectra of these complexes reveals the use of TAME5OX as a sensitive optical pH based sensor to detect Ln3+ ions whereas indication of strong green fluorescence allows simultaneous sensing within the visible region in competitive medium. The intense fluorescence intermittently gets quenched under acidic and basic conditions due to photoinduced intramolecular electron transfer from the excited 8-hydroxyquinoline (8-HQ) moiety to the metal ion. This renders these compounds the OFF-ON-OFF type of pH-dependent fluorescent sensor. The thermodynamic stability and coordination behaviour of the chelator with the said lanthanide ions have also been probed by potentiometric, UV ? visible and fluorescence spectrophotometric method. TAME5OX forms protonated complex [Ln (H4L)]4+ below pH ~4.0 which sequentially deprotonates through one proton process with increase of pH. The stability constants of neutral complexes have been determined to be in the range log β110 = 32–34 and pLn in the range of 14–20, indicating TAME5OX is a good synthetic lanthanide chelator. Theoretical spectra were also calculated by ZINDO/s methodology at single excitations (CIS) level on PM7 as sparkle energy-minimized geometries.  相似文献

During the 29th Soviet Antarctic Expedition in Novolazarevskaya from March 1984 to March 1985, the protein and energy metabolisms were studied in six expeditioners from the German Democratic Republic. The investigations were carried out at the beginning of the expedition (May), during the polar night (July) and during the polar day (December). The effect of a special stress situation (sledge trek in April 1984) was investigated in one subject. The stable nitrogen isotope 15N was used to study the protein metabolism. The assessment of the energy metabolism was based on the oxygen consumption, which was determined by means of a spirograph. In addition, the vital capacity, the breath minute volume, the blood pressure, etc. were measured. The following results were obtained: During the polar night, the utilisation of the dietary proteins and the whole body protein synthesis calculated by means of the 15N excretion of the total nitrogen in urine were greater (73.6±0.9 % and 3.48±0.17 g protein d?1 kg?1, n=3) than the respective values during the polar day (69.7±1.2, p<0.05, n=3 and 3.05±0.07, p<0.05, n=3) and at the beginning of the expedition (69.6±1.4, p<0.02, n=5 and 2.81±0.09, p<0.01, n=5). The lowest values (58.0 % and 2.43 g protein d?1 kg?1) were obtained in the subject after the trek. The resting metabolic rate (in kJ d?1 m?2) was decreased during the polar night (45.6±5.0, n=4) in comparison with the polar day (61.5±11.3, n=3) and the beginning of the expedition (52.3±9.6, n=4) with p<0.01 in both cases.  相似文献
