We study a topological sigma-model (A-model) in the case when the target space is an (m 0|m 1)-dimensional supermanifold. We prove under certain conditions that such a model is equivalent to an A-model having an (m 0m 1)-dimensional manifold as a target space. We use this result to prove that in the case when the target space of A-model is a complete intersection in a toric manifold, this A-model is equivalent to an A-model having a toric supermanifold as a target space.Research supported in part by NSF grant No. DMS-9201366.  相似文献

We study compactification of extra dimensions in a theory of Dirac–Born–Infeld type gravity. We investigate the solution for Minkowski spacetime with an S 2 extra space as well as that for de Sitter spacetime (S 4) with an S 2 extra space. They are derived by the effective potential method in the presence of the magnetic flux on the extra sphere. We also consider the higher-dimensional generalization of the solutions. We find that, in a certain model, the radius of the extra space has a minimum value independent of the higher-dimensional Newton constant.  相似文献

We study the propagation of phase space singularities for the time dependent Schrödinger equation with potential having Coulomb-type singularities in space dimension equal tothree. We prove that the singularities (frequency set) of the solution are reflected by a Coulomb center exactly as in the classical problem, i.e. the frequency set follows theregularized trajectories of Classical Mechanics after a collision.  相似文献

We investigate a mix-dimensional Fermi-Fermi mixtures in which one species is confined in two-dimensional (2D) space while the other is free in three-dimensional space (3D). We determine the superfluid transition temperature T c for the entire BCS-BEC crossover including the important effects of noncondensed pairs. We find that the transition temperature reduces while the imbalance of mass is increased or lattice spacing is reduced. In spin imbalance case, the stability of superfluid is sharply destroyed by increasing the polarization.  相似文献

We give a positive answer to an old problem of whether there exists an incomplete inner product space S such that its system of orthogonally closed subspaces—denoted by F(S)—admits finitely additive states. Indeed, we show that every infinite-dimensional separable Hilbert space H contains an incomplete dense hyperplane S H such that F(S) admits finitely additive states. We also show that the system of orthogonally closed subspaces of any inner product space with countably infinite linear dimension always admits finitely additive states.  相似文献

We prove that in the Euclidean representation of the three-dimensional massless Nelson model, the t = 0 projection of the interacting measure is absolutely continuous with respect to a Gaussian measure with a suitably adjusted mean. We study the noncommutative geometrical structures of quantum entangled states. We show that the space of a pure entangled state is a noncommutative space. In particular we show that by rewriting the coordinate ring of a conifold or the Segre variety we can get a q-deformed relation in noncommutative geometry. We generalized our construction into a multi-qubit state. We also in detail discuss the noncommutative geometrical structure of a three-qubit state.  相似文献

The D1–D5 system is believed to have an “orbifold point” in its moduli space where its low energy theory is a ?=4 supersymmetric sigma model with target space M N /S N , where M is T 4 or K3. We study correlation functions of chiral operators in CFTs arising from such a theory. We construct a basic class of chiral operators from twist fields of the symmetric group and the generators of the superconformal algebra. We find explicitly the 3-point functions for these chiral fields at large N; these expressions are “universal” in that they are independent of the choice of M. We observe that the result is a significantly simpler expression than the corresponding expression for the bosonic theory based on the same orbifold target space. We study the problem of complete parametrization of the moduli space ofSU(2) Yang-Mills-Higgs monopoles in terms of a nonlinear integrable system. It is shown that the moduli space is homeomorphic to the solution space of a new generalization of finite nonperiodic Toda equation called the complex cyclic-Toda hierarchy.  相似文献

We perform a study of the moduli space of framed torsion-free sheaves on Hirzebruch surfaces by using localization techniques. We discuss some general properties of this moduli space by studying it in the framework of Huybrechts-Lehn theory of framed modules. We classify the fixed points under a toric action on the moduli space, and use this to compute the Poincaré polynomial of the latter. This will imply that the moduli spaces we are considering are irreducible. We also consider fractional first Chern classes, which means that we are extending our computation to a stacky deformation of a Hirzebruch surface. From the physical viewpoint, our results provide the mathematical framework for the counting of D4-D2-D0 branes bound states on total spaces of the bundles O\mathbb P1(-p){\mathcal {O}_{\mathbb {P}^1}(-p)} .  相似文献

Abstract

Let M be an odd-dimensional Euclidean space endowed with a contact 1-form α. We investigate the space of symmetric contravariant tensor fields over M as a module over the Lie algebra of contact vector fields, i.e. over the Lie subalgebra made up of those vector fields that preserve the contact structure defined by a. If we consider symmetric tensor fields with coefficients in tensor densities (also called symbols), the vertical cotangent lift of the contact form a defines a contact invariant operator. We also extend the classical contact Hamiltonian to the space of symbols. This generalized Hamiltonian operator on the space of symbols is invariant with respect to the action of the projective contact algebra sp(2n+2) the algebra of vector fields which preserve both the contact structure and the projective structure of the Euclidean space. These two operators lead to a decomposition of the space of symbols, except for some critical density weights, which generalizes a splitting proposed by V. Ovsienko in [18].  相似文献

We present the Dirac propagator as a random walk on anS D–1 sphere for Majorana spinors, even spinor space, Dirac spinors, and Chevalley-Crumeyrolle spinors built from Minkowski space. We propose the Dirac propagator constructed from Chevalley-Crumeyrolle spinors as the generators of a Markov process such that McKane-Parisi-Sourlas theorem can be applied to calculate the expectation values for functions of local times.  相似文献

Using twistor methods, we explicitly construct all local forms of four–dimensional real analytic neutral signature anti–self–dual conformal structures (M, [g]) with a null conformal Killing vector. We show that M is foliated by anti-self-dual null surfaces, and the two-dimensional leaf space inherits a natural projective structure. The twistor space of this projective structure is the quotient of the twistor space of (M, [g]) by the group action induced by the conformal Killing vector. We obtain a local classification which branches according to whether or not the conformal Killing vector is hyper-surface orthogonal in (M, [g]). We give examples of conformal classes which contain Ricci–flat metrics on compact complex surfaces and discuss other conformal classes with no Ricci–flat metrics. We prove that the natural hyper-Kähler metrics on the moduli space of chargek instantons over Euclidean four-space and on the space of ADHM matrices coincide. We use this to deduce formulae relating expressions in the curvature of a connection to invariant polynomials in the ADHM matrices corresponding to this connection. These arise from consideration of the group of symmetries acting on the moduli spaces.  相似文献

We compute ground state energies for the N-dimensional hydrogen atom confined in an impenetrable spherical cavity. The obtained results show their dependence on the size of the cavity and the space dimension N. We also examine the value of the critical radius of the cavity in different dimensions. The Positive Action conjecture requires that the action of any asymptotically Euclidean 4-dimensional Riemannian metric be positive, vanishing if and only if the space is flat. Because any Ricci flat, asymptotically Euclidean metric has zero action and is local extremum of the action which is a local minimum at flat space, the conjecture requires that there are no Ricci flat asymptotically Euclidean metrics other than flat space, which would establish that flat space is the only local minimum. We prove this for metrics onR 4 and a large class of more complicated topologies and for self-dual metrics. We show that ifR 0 there are no bound states of the Dirac equation and discuss the relevance to possible baryon non-conserving processes mediated by gravitational instantons. We conclude that these are forbidden in the lowest stationary phase approximation. We give a detailed discussion of instantons invariant under anSU(2) orSO(3) isometry group. We find all regular solutions, none of which is asymptotically Euclidean and all of which possess a further Killing vector. In an appendix we construct an approximate self-dual metric onK3 — the only simply connected compact manifold which admits a self-dual metric.  相似文献
