We introduce a function model for the Teichmüller space of a closed hyperbolic Riemann surface.Then we introduce a new metric on the Teichmüller space by using the maximum norm on the function space.We prove that the identity map from the Teichmüller space equipped with the Teichmüller metric to the Teichmüller space equipped with this new metric is uniformly continuous. Moreover, we prove that the inverse of the identity, i.e., the identity map from the Teichmüller space equipped with this new metric to the Teichmüller space equipped with the Teichmüller metric, is continuous(but not uniformly). Therefore, the topology induced by the new metric is the same as the topology induced by the Teichmüller metric on the Teichmüller space.Finally, we give a remark about the pressure metric on the function model and the Weil-Petersson metric on the Teichmüller space.  相似文献

We show that the Hausdorff dimension of quasi-circles of polygonal mappings is one.Furthermore,we apply this result to the theory of extremal quasiconformal mappings.Let [μ] be a point in the universal Teichmller space such that the Hausdorff dimension of fμ(Δ) is bigger than one.We show that for every kn∈(0,1) and polygonal differentials ψn,n=1,2,...,the sequence {[kn ψn/|ψn|]} cannot converge to [μ] under the Teichmer metric.  相似文献

The geometry of Teichmller metric in an asymptotic Teichmller space is studied in this article. First, a binary infinitesimal form of Teichmller metric on AT(X) is proved.Then, the notion of angles between two geodesic curves in the asymptotic Teichmller space AT(X) is introduced. The existence of such angles is proved and the explicit formula is obtained. As an application, a sufficient condition for non-uniqueness geodesics in AT(X) is obtained.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove that the Bers projection of the integrable Teichmller space is holomorphic. By using the Douady-Earle extension, we obtain some characterizations of the integrable Teichmller space as well as the p-integrable asymptotic affine homeomorphism.  相似文献

Let X be a metric space. We say that a continuous surjection f: X→X is a topological Anosov map (abbrev. TA-map) if f is expansive and has pseudo-orbit tracing property with respect to some compatible metric for X. This paper studies the properties of TA-maps of non-compact metric spaces and gives some conditions for the map to be topologically mixing.  相似文献

Let T(G) be the Teichmüller space of a Fuchsian group G and T(G) be the pointed Teichmüller space of a corresponding pointed Fuchsian group G.We will discuss the existence of holomorphic sections of the projection from the space M(G) of Beltrami coefficients for G to T(G) and of that from T(G) to T(G) as well.We will also study the biholomorphic isomorphisms between two pointed Teichmüller spaces.  相似文献

It is known that every finitely unbranched holomorphic covering π:S→S of a compact Riemann surface S with genus g≥2 induces an isometric embedding Φπ:Teich(S)→Teich(S).By the mutual relations between Strebel rays in Teich(S)and their embeddings in Teich(S),we show that the 1 st-strata space of the augmented Teichmüller space Teich(S)can be embedded in the augmented Teichmüller space Teich(S)isometrically.Furthermore,we show that Φπ induces an isometric embedding from the set Teich(S)B(∞)consisting of Busemann points in the horofunction boundary of Teich(S)into Teich(S)B(∞)with the detour metric.  相似文献

We prove that for all n = 4k- 2 and k 2 there exists a closed smooth complex hyperbolic manifold M with real dimension n having non-trivial π1(T0(M)). T0(M) denotes the Teichm¨uller space of all negatively curved Riemannian metrics on M, which is the topological quotient of the space of all negatively curved metrics modulo the space of self-diffeomorphisms of M that are homotopic to the identity.  相似文献

Hilbert Space of Probability Density Functions Based on Aitchison Geometry   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6  
The set of probability functions is a convex subset of L1 and it does not have a linear space structure when using ordinary sum and multiplication by real constants. Moreover, difficulties arise when dealing with distances between densities. The crucial point is that usual distances are not invariant under relevant transformations of densities. To overcome these limitations, Aitchison's ideas on compositional data analysis are used, generalizing perturbation and power transformation, as well as the Aitchison inner product, to operations on probability density functions with support on a finite interval. With these operations at hand, it is shown that the set of bounded probability density functions on finite intervals is a pre-Hilbert space. A Hilbert space of densities, whose logarithm is square-integrable, is obtained as the natural completion of the pre-Hilbert space.  相似文献

We study a special class of Finsler metrics,namely,Matsumoto metrics F=α2α-β,whereαis a Riemannian metric andβis a 1-form on a manifold M.We prove that F is a(weak)Einstein metric if and only ifαis Ricci flat andβis a parallel 1-form with respect toα.In this case,F is Ricci flat and Berwaldian.As an application,we determine the local structure and prove the 3-dimensional rigidity theorem for a(weak)Einstein Matsumoto metric.  相似文献

Given a modulus of continuity ω,we consider the Teichmuller space TC1+ω as the space of all orientation-preserving circle diffeomorphisms whose derivatives are ω-continuous functions modulo the space of Mobius transformations preserving the unit disk.We study several distortion properties for diffeomorphisms and quasisymmetric homeomorphisms.Using these distortion properties,we give the Bers complex manifold structure on the Teichm(u| ")ller space TC^1+H as the union of over all0 <α≤1,which turns out to be the largest space in the Teichmuller space of C1 orientation-preserving circle diffeomorphisms on which we can assign such a structure.Furthermore,we prove that with the Bers complex manifold structure on TC^1+H ,Kobayashi’s metric and Teichmuller’s metric coincide.  相似文献

Let(X, d) be a metric space and f be a continuous map from X to X. Denote by EP(f)and Ω(f) the sets of eventually periodic points and non-wandering points of f, respectively. It is well known that for a tree map f, the following statements hold:(1) If x ∈Ω(f)-Ω(f~n) for some n ≥ 2,then x ∈ EP(f).(2) Ω(f) is contained in the closure of EP(f). In this paper, we introduce a G metric on the G-cone metric space and then prove that a complete G-cone metric space is always a complete G metric space and verify that a contractive mapping on the G-cone metric space is a contractive mapping on the G metric space. Let B (resp. K, BC,KC) denote the set of all nonempty bounded (resp. compact, bounded convex, compact convex) closed subsets of the Banach space X, endowed with the Hausdorff metric, and let G be a nonempty relatively weakly compact closed subset of X. Let B° stand for the set of all F ∈B such that the problem (F, G) is well-posed. We proved that, if X is strictly convex and Kadec, the set KC ∩ B° is a dense Gδ-subset of KC / G. Furthermore, if X is a uniformly convex Banach space, we will prove more, namely that the set B /B° (resp. K / B°, BC /B°, KC / B°) is a-porous in B (resp. K,BC, KC). Moreover, we prove that for most (in the sense of the Baire category) closed bounded subsets G of X, the set K / B° is dense and uncountable in K.  相似文献

The author shows that if a locally conformal K¨ahler metric is Hermitian YangMills with respect to itself with Einstein constant c ≤ 0, then it is a K¨ahler-Einstein metric.In the case of c > 0, some identities on torsions and an inequality on the second Chern number are derived.  相似文献
