We introduce a new observable, "gluino m_{T2}," which is an application of the Cambridge m_{T2} variable to the process where gluinos are pair produced in a proton-proton collision and each gluino subsequently decays into two quarks and one lightest supersymmetric particle, i.e., g[over ]g[over ]-->qqchi[over ]_{1};{0}qqchi[over ]_{1};{0}. We show that the gluino m_{T2} can be utilized to measure the gluino mass and the lightest neutralino mass separately and also the 1st and 2nd generation squark masses if squarks are lighter than the gluino, thereby providing a good first look at the pattern of sparticle masses experimentally.  相似文献

The supersymmetric electroweak corrections to the partial width of the decay \tilde{χ}2+→ Z0\tilde{χ}1+, including the contributions from the third generation quarks and squarks, are presented within the minimal supersymmetric standard model. With the reasonable parameters sets, which open this decay channel kinematically, the relative corrections can reach the value of ~ -6%. Therefore they should be taken into consideration for the precise experimental measurement at future colliders.  相似文献

We present the results of searches for large extra dimensions in samples of events with large missing transverse energy E_{T} and either a photon or a jet produced in pp[over ] collisions at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV collected with the Collider Detector at Fermilab II. For gamma+E_{T} and jet+E_{T} candidate samples corresponding to 2.0 and 1.1 fb;{-1} of integrated luminosity, respectively, we observe good agreement with standard model expectations and obtain a combined lower limit on the fundamental parameter of the large extra dimensions model M_{D} as a function of the number of extra dimensions in the model.  相似文献

Motivated by the recent measurement of a low longitudinal polarization fraction in the decay mode , which appears not to be in agreement with the standard model expectation, we analyze this mode in the minimal supersymmetric standard model with the mass insertion approximation. Within the standard model, with the factorization approximation, the longitudinal polarization is expected to be . We find that this anomaly can be explained in the minimal supersymmetric standard model with either the LR or the RL mass insertion approximation. The top-pair production in association with a Z0-boson at a photon-photon collider is an important process in probing the coupling between top-quarks and vector boson and discovering the signature of possible new physics. We describe the impact of the complete supersymmetric QCD (SQCD) next-to-leading order (NLO)radiative corrections on this process at a polarized or unpolarized photon collider, and make a comparison between the effects of the SQCD and the standard model (SM) QCD. We investigate the dependence of the lowest-order (LO) and QCD NLO corrected cross sections in both the SM and minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) on colliding energy s1/2 in different polarized photon collision modes. The LO, SM NLO, and SQCD NLO corrected distributions of the invariantmass of t\bar{t}-pair and the transverse momenta of final Z0-boson are presented. Our numerical results show that the pure SQCD effects in γγ→t\bar{t}z0 process can be more significant in the + + polarized photon collision mode than in other collision modes, and the relative SQCD radiative correction in unpolarized photon collision mode varies from 32.09\% to -1.89\% when s1/2 goes up from 500 GeV to 1.5 TeV.  相似文献

In the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), we study the light Higgs boson radiation off a light-chargino pair in the process at linear colliders with GeV. We analyze cross sections in the regions of the MSSM parameter space where the process cannot proceed via on-shell production and subsequent decay of either heavier charginos or the pseudoscalar Higgs boson A. Cross sections up to a few fb are allowed, according to present experimental limits on the Higgs boson, chargino and sneutrino masses. We also show how a measurement of the production rate could provide a determination of the Higgs boson couplings to charginos.Received: 24 June 2004, Revised: 13 May 2005, Published online: 19 July 2005  相似文献

We develop a systematic approach to construct novel completely solvable rational potentials. Second-order supersymmetric quantum mechanics dictates the latter to be isospectral to some well-studied quantum systems. $ \mathcal{P}\mathcal{T} $ \mathcal{P}\mathcal{T} symmetry may facilitate reconciling our approach to the requirement that the rationally extended potentials be singularity free. Some examples are shown.  相似文献

Searching for the top squark(stop)is a key task to test the naturalness of SUSY.Different from stop pair production, single stop production relies on its electroweak properties and can provide some unique signatures.Following the single production process pp→t~1X(~)1→tX~10X~1-,the top quark has two decay channels:leptonic channel and hadronic channel. In this paper,we probe the observability of these two channels in a simplified minimal supersymmetric standard model scenario. We find that,at the 27 TeV LHC with the integrated luminosity of L=15 ab-1,mt-1<1900 GeV andμ<750 GeV can be excluded at 2σthrough the leptonic mono-top channel, while mt-1<1200 GeV andμ<350 GeV can be excluded at 2σthrough the hadronic channel.  相似文献

The experimental search limit on the Higgs boson mass points to a “golden region” in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model parameter space in which the fine-tuning in the electroweak sector is minimized. One of the sbottoms is relatively light since its mass parameter is related to that of the stop. The decay products of the light sbottom typically include a W boson and a b jet. We studied the pair production of the light sbottoms at the Large Hadron Collider and examined its discovery potential via collider signature of 4 jets + 1 lepton + missing E T . Such channel differs from conventional sbottom searches of either \(\tilde{b}_{1} \rightarrow b \chi_{2}^{0} \rightarrow b \ell^{+}\ell^{-} \chi_{1}^{0}\) or \(\tilde{b}_{1} \rightarrow t \chi_{1}^{-}\) with reconstructed top quark. We analyzed the Standard Model backgrounds for this channel and developed a set of cuts to identify the signal and suppress the backgrounds. We showed that with 100 fb?1 integrated luminosity, a significance level of 5–6 σ could be reached for the light sbottom discovery at the LHC.  相似文献

We consider the fully constrained version of the next-to-minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model (cNMSSM) in which a singlet Higgs superfield is added to the two doublets that are present in the minimal extension (MSSM). Assuming universal boundary conditions at a high scale for the soft supersymmetry-breaking mass parameters as well as for the trilinear interactions, we find that the model is more constrained than the celebrated minimal supergravity model. The phenomenologically viable region in the parameter space of the cNMSSM corresponds to a small value for the universal scalar mass m_{0}: in this case, one single input parameter is sufficient to describe the model's phenomenology once constraints from collider data and cosmology are imposed.  相似文献

We re-assess the exclusion limits on the parameters describing the supersymmetric (SUSY) electroweak sector of the MSSM obtained from the search for direct chargino–neutralino production at the LHC. We start from the published limits obtained for simplified models, where for the case of heavy sleptons the relevant branching ratio, $\mathrm {BR}(\tilde{\chi}^{0}_{2} \to \tilde{\chi}^{0}_{1} Z)$ , is set to one. We show how the decay mode $\tilde{\chi}^{0}_{2} \to \tilde{\chi}^{0}_{1} h$ , which cannot be neglected in any realistic model once kinematically allowed, substantially reduces the excluded parameter region. We analyze the dependence of the excluded regions on the phase of the gaugino soft SUSY-breaking mass parameter, M 1, on the mass of the light scalar tau, $m_{{\tilde{\tau}_{1}}}$ , on tanβ as well as on the squark and slepton mass scales. Large reductions in the ranges of parameters excluded can be observed in all scenarios. The branching ratios of charginos and neutralinos are evaluated using a full NLO calculation for the complex MSSM. The size of the effects of the NLO calculation on the exclusion bounds is investigated. We furthermore assess the potential reach of the experimental analyses after collecting 100 fb?1 at the LHC running at 13 TeV.  相似文献

A search for stop production in R-parity-violating supersymmetry has been performed in e+p interactions with the ZEUS detector at HERA, using an integrated luminosity of 65 pb-1. At HERA, the R-parity-violating coupling λ’ allows resonant squark production, . Since the lowest-mass squark state in most supersymmetry models is the light stop, , this search concentrated on production of , followed either by a direct R-parity-violating decay, or by the gauge decay to . No evidence for stop production was found and limits were set on λ’131 as a function of the stop mass in the framework of the minimal supersymmetric standard model. The results have also been interpreted in terms of constraints on the parameters of the minimal supergravity model.  相似文献

This Letter presents a search for pair production of heavy down-type quarks decaying via b^{'}→Wt in the lepton+jets channel, as b^{'}b[over ˉ]^{'}→W^{-}tW^{+}t[over ˉ]→bb[over ˉ]W^{+}W^{-}W^{+}W^{-}→l^{±}νbb[over ˉ]qq[over ˉ]qq[over ˉ]qq[over ˉ]. In addition to requiring exactly one lepton, large missing transverse momentum, and at least six jets, the invariant mass of nearby jet pairs is used to identify high transverse momentum W bosons. In data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.04 fb^{-1} from pp collisions at sqrt[s]=7 TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector, a heavy down-type quark with mass less than 480?GeV can be excluded at the 95% confidence level.  相似文献

The anisotropic properties of 1T- and 2H-TaS2 axe investigated by the density functional theory within the framework of full-potential linearized augmented plane wave method. The band structures of 1T- and 2H-TaS2 exhibit anisotropic properties and the calculated electronic specific-heat coefficient γ of 2H-TaS2 accords well with the existing experimental value. The anisotropic frequency-dependent dielectric functions including the effect of the Drude term are analysed, where the ε^xx(ω) spectra corresponding to the electric field E perpendicular to the z axis show excellent agreement with the measured results except for the ε1^xx(ω) of 1T-TaS2 below the energy level of 2.6 eV which is due to the lack of the enough CDW information for reference in our calculation. Furthermore, based on the values of optical effective mass ratio P of 1T and 2H phases it is found that the anisotropy in 2H-TaS2 is stronger than that in 1T-TaS2.  相似文献

We study chargino and neutralino pair production at the Next Linear e+ e Collider in a supersymmetric left-right model. We investigateon- and off-resonance signals via the processes: and . These reactions could lead to observable signals as they compare with the background signal from W± -pair production.  相似文献

We consider four-dimensional Ω-deformed ${\mathcal{N} = 2}$ supersymmetric SU(2) gauge theory on A 1 space and its lift to five dimensions. We find that the partition functions can be reproduced via special geometry and the holomorphic anomaly equation. Schwinger-type integral expressions for the boundary conditions at the monopole/dyon point in moduli space are inferred. The interpretation of the five-dimensional partition function as the partition function of a refined topological string on A 1 × (local ${\mathbb{P}^{1} \times \mathbb{P}^1}$ ) is suggested.  相似文献

In this paper we calculate the production of a charged top pion in association with a $W$ boson at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in the context of the topcolor assisted technicolor model. We find that the cross section of $pp \rightarrow b\bar{b} \rightarrow W^{\pm}\pi_t^{\mp}$ is roughly corresponding to the result of the process $pp \rightarrow b\bar{b} \rightarrow W^{\pm}H^{\mp}$ in the minimal supersymmetric standard model, and for reasonable ranges of the parameters, the cross section can reach a few hundred fb. The $W^{\pm}\pi_t^{\mp}$ signal should be clearly visible at LHC unless $\pi_t^{\pm}$ is very heavy.  相似文献

The superfluid density rho_{s}(T) identical with1/lambda;{2}(T) has been measured at 2.64 GHz in highly underdoped YBa_{2}Cu_{3}O_{6+y}, at 37 dopings with T_{c} between 3 and 17 K. Within limits set by the transition width DeltaT_{c} approximately 0.4 K, rho_{s}(T) shows no evidence of critical fluctuations as T-->T_{c}, with a mean-field-like transition and no indication of vortex unbinding. Instead, we propose that rho_{s} displays the behavior expected for a quantum phase transition in the (3+1)-dimensional XY universality class, with rho_{s0} proportional, variant(p-p_{c}), T_{c} proportional, variant(p-p_{c});{1/2}, and rho_{s}(T) proportional, variant(T_{c}-T);{1} as T-->T_{c}.  相似文献

We present a general procedure to decompose Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) collider signatures presenting a $\mathbb {Z}_2$ symmetry into Simplified Model Spectrum (SMS) topologies. Our method provides a way to cast BSM predictions for the LHC in a model independent framework, which can be directly confronted with the relevant experimental constraints. Our concrete implementation currently focusses on supersymmetry searches with missing energy, for which a large variety of SMS results from ATLAS and CMS are available. As show-case examples we apply our procedure to two scans of the minimal supersymmetric standard model. We discuss how the SMS limits constrain various particle masses and which regions of parameter space remain unchallenged by the current SMS interpretations of the LHC results.  相似文献

The $ \mathcal{P}\mathcal{T} $ \mathcal{P}\mathcal{T} symmetry of the Coulomb potential and its solutions are studied along trajectories satisfying the $ \mathcal{P}\mathcal{T} $ \mathcal{P}\mathcal{T} symmetry requirement. It is shown that with appropriate normalization constant the general solutions can be chosen $ \mathcal{P}\mathcal{T} $ \mathcal{P}\mathcal{T} -symmetric if the L parameter that corresponds to angular momentum in the Hermitian case is real. $ \mathcal{P}\mathcal{T} $ \mathcal{P}\mathcal{T} symmetry is spontaneously broken, however, for complex L values of the form L = −1/2 + iλ. In this case the potential remains $ \mathcal{P}\mathcal{T} $ \mathcal{P}\mathcal{T} -symmetric, while the two independent solutions are transformed to each other by the $ \mathcal{P}\mathcal{T} $ \mathcal{P}\mathcal{T} operation and at the same time, the two series of discrete energy eigenvalues turn into each other’s complex conjugate.  相似文献
