A Monte-Carlo analysis on production and decay of supersymmetric charginos at a future photon-collider is presented. A photon collider offers the possibility of a direct branching-ratio measurement. In this study, the process
has been considered for a specific mSUGRA scenario. Various backgrounds and a parameterised detector simulation have been included. Depending on the centre-of-mass energy, a statistical error for the directly measurable branching ratio BR(
) of up to 3.5% can be reached.Received: 14 March 2005, Revised: 31 May 2005, Published online: 28 June 2005G. Klämke: Now at: Institut für Theoretische Physik, Universität Karlsruhe, Wolfgang-Gaede-Str. 1, 76131 Karlsruhe, Germany 相似文献

In the CP-violating minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), for certain values of the CP-violating phases associated to the universal trilinear couplings (At, Ab) and the gluino mass
, e.g.,
or
, for
GeV and
-5, the lightest Higgs boson mass (
) is
GeV. This mass interval is still allowed by results of standard LEP Higgs searches because of a strongly suppressed H1ZZ coupling. However, in the same region of parameter space in which these two conditions occur, the
coupling is enhanced because the two mentioned sets of couplings satisfy a sum rule. In this paper we probe such a light Higgs scenario at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) by studying
associate production, leading to a
signal. We show that the latter is readily accessible at the CERN hadron collider, upon the application of suitable selection cuts against the standard model (SM) backgrounds. Our parton level Monte Carlo (MC) analysis yields
-45 signal events, completely free of SM background, for
- 30 fb-1 of accumulated luminosity, after taking into account the overall efficiency for tagging four b-jets.Received: 21 February 2005, Published online: 6 July 2005 相似文献

Upper limits on the cross-section of the pair-production process
, assuming 100
branching fraction to hadrons, are derived from a new search for the
hadrons final state, independently of the hadronic flavour of the decay products. This study, combined with previously published searches for the neutral Higgs bosons h0 and A0, is used to constrain the Type II Two Higgs Doublet Model (2HDM(II)) with no CP violation in the Higgs sector and no additional non-Standard Model particles besides the five Higgs bosons. The analysis combines LEP1 and LEP2 data collected with the OPAL detector up to the highest available centre-of-mass energies. The searches are sensitive to the
and
decay modes of the Higgs bosons. A benchmark scan of the 2HDM(II) parameter space is performed. Large regions of the 2HDM(II) parameter space explored are excluded at the 95% CL in the (
and
planes, using both direct neutral Higgs boson searches and indirect limits derived from Standard Model high precision measurements. The region
GeV and
GeV is excluded at 95 % CL, independently of

We consider the process
at a linear collider with transverse
beam polarization. We investigate the influence of the CP phases on azimuthal asymmetries in
with subsequent two-body decays
and
. We show that triple product correlations involving the transverse
beam polarization vanish if at least one subsequent chargino decay is not observed. We derive this result within the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) with complex parameters; however, it holds also in the general MSSM with SUSY flavor violation.Received: 29 March 2004, Published online: 30 July 2004 相似文献

We present standard model predictions for the four-fermion reaction
being one of the best detection channels of a low-mass Higgs boson produced through the Higgsstrahlung mechanism at a linear
collider. We include leading virtual and real QED corrections due to initial state radiation and a modification of the Higgs-
Yukawa coupling, caused by the running of the b-quark mass, for
. The complete
electroweak corrections to Z-Higgs production and to the Z-boson decay width, as well as the remaining QCD and EW corrections to the Higgs decay width, as can be calculated with the
program HDECAY, are taken into account in the double-pole approximation.

In the framework of the littlest Higgs (LH) model, we consider the processes
and
, and we calculate the contributions of new particles to the cross sections of these processes in the future high energy e + e- collider (ILC) with
TeV. We find that, with reasonable values of the free parameters, the deviations of the cross sections for the processes
from their SM values might be comparable to the future ILC measurement precision. The contributions of the light Higgs boson H0 to the process
are significantly large in all of the parameter space preferred by the electroweak precision data, which might be detected in the future ILC experiments. However, the contributions of the new gauge bosons BH and ZH to this process are very small.Received: 22 February 2005, Revised: 27 April 2005, Published online: 6 July 2005PACS:

We present a lattice QCD determination of the chiral quark condensate based on a new method. We extract the quark condensate from the operator product expansion of the quark propagator at short euclidean distances, where it represents the leading contribution in the chiral limit. From this study we obtain

Approximately 438 pb-1 of e + e- data from the OPAL detector, taken with the LEP collider running at centre-of-mass energies of 192-209 GeV, are analyzed to search for evidence of chargino pair production,
, or neutralino associated production,
. Limits are set at the 95% confidence level on the product of the cross-section for the process
and its branching ratios to topologies containing jets and missing energy, or jets with a lepton and missing energy, and on the product of the cross-section for
and its branching ratio to jets. R-parity conservation is assumed throughout this paper. When these results are interpreted in the context of the Constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, limits are also set on the masses of the

, and regions of the parameter space of the model are ruled out. Nearly model-independent limits are also set at the 95% confidence level on
with the assumption that each chargino decays via a W boson, and on
with the
assumed to decay via a Z0.Received: 15 December 2003, Revised: 16 February 2004, Published online: 23 April 2004 相似文献

A new evaluation of the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon magnetic moment is presented. We take into account the reanalysis of the low-energy e
+
e
-annihilation cross section into hadrons by the CMD-2 Collaboration. The agreement between e
+
e
-and
spectral functions in the
channel is found to be much improved. Nevertheless, significant discrepancies remain in the center-of-mass energy range between 0.85 and
, so that we refrain from averaging the two data sets. The values found for the lowest-order hadronic vacuum polarization contributions are
where the errors have been separated according to their sources: experimental, missing radiative corrections in e
+
e
-data, and isospin breaking. The corresponding Standard Model predictions for the muon magnetic anomaly read
where the errors account for the hadronic, light-by-light (LBL) scattering and electroweak contributions. The deviations from the measurement at BNL are found to be
(1.9
) and
(0.7

+
e
-- and
-based estimates, respectively, where the second error is from the LBL contribution and the third one from the BNL measurement.Received: 7 September 2003, Published online: 30 October 2003 相似文献

We present the calculations of the complete next-to-leading order (NLO) inclusive total cross sections for the associated production processes
in the minimal supersymmetric standard model at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. Our calculations show that the total cross sections for the
production for the lighter top squark masses in the region 100 GeV
160 GeV can reach 1 pb in the favorable parameter space allowed by the current precise experiments, and in other cases the total cross sections generally vary from 10 fb to several hundred fb except for both
500 GeV and the
production channel. Moreover, we find that the NLO QCD corrections in general enhance the leading order total cross sections significantly, and vastly reduce the dependence of the total cross sections on the renormalization/factorization scale, which leads to increased confidence in predictions based on these results.Received: 2 March 2003, Revised: 28 May 2003, Published online: 11 July 2003 相似文献

Processes of the form pp → anything → XiXj →
+
+ notE are studied via a technique that may be viewed as an adaptation of time-honoured Dalitz plot analyses. Xi and Xj are new heavy states (with i, j =1, . . .,n), which may be identical or distinct; and
and
are necessarily distinct standard model (SM) fermion pairs whose invariant masses can be measured. A Dalitz-like plot of
said invariant masses,
versus
, exhibits a topology connected to the masses and specific decay chains of Xi and Xj. Aside from relatively minor details, observed patterns consist of a collection of box and wedge shapes. This collection
is model-dependent: comparison of the observed pattern to the possibilities for a specific model yields information on which
new particle pair combinations are actually being produced, information beyond that extractable from conventional one-dimensional
invariant mass distributions. The technique is illustrated via application to the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM)
process pp →
→ e+e- + μ+μ- notE. Here the heavy states are neutralinos
(i = 2,3,4) - note that
is excluded - which are produced in gluino/squark (
/
) cascade decay chains. Even with fairly modest expectations for the LHC performance during the first few years, this method
still provides substantial insight into the neutralino mass spectrum and couplings if gluino/squark masses are relatively
low (≃ 400 GeV).

A search for pair-produced charged Higgs bosons was performed in the data collected by the DELPHI detector at LEP II at centre-of-mass energies from 189 GeV to 209 GeV. Five different final states,
,
,
,
and
were considered, accounting for the major expected decays in type I and type II Two Higgs Doublet Models. No significant excess of data compared to the expected Standard Model processes was observed. The existence of a charged Higgs boson with mass lower than 76.7 GeV/c2 (type I) or 74.4 GeV/c2 (type II) is excluded at the 95% confidence level, for a wide range of the model parameters. Model independent cross-section limits have also been calculated.Received: 30 September 2003, Revised: 12 February 2004, Published online: 8 April 2004 相似文献

We present a complete one-loop study of the process
and the predicted cross section in a
Linear Collider. A suitable numerical code, PLATONlc, valid for any set of real MSSM parameters, is released. This study and code are complementary to those suitable for dark matter detection through the inverse process
describing neutralino-neutralino annihilation at rest, which were presented previously. If SUSY is realized in nature, both codes should be very helpful in future astrophysical and collider studies of the neutralino sector.Received: 6 November 2003, Published online: 9 January 2004Programme dActions Intégrées Franco-Hellenique, Platon 04100 UM. 相似文献

In the SUSY SO(10) GUT context, we study the exclusive processes
. Using the Wilson coefficients of the relevant operators including the new operators
which are induced by neutral Higgs boson (NHB) penguins, we evaluate some possible observables associated with these processes like the invariant mass spectrum (IMS), lepton pair forward-backward asymmetry (FBA), lepton polarization asymmetries etc. In this model the contributions from Wilson coefficients

decays complemented by the
decays, the CP parameters
