On the minimality of the p-harmonic ma p $$x/\|x\|$$ for weighted energy

In this paper, we study the minimality of the map for the weighted energy functional , where is a continuous function. We prove that for any integer and any non-negative, non-decreasing continuous function f, the map minimizes E _f,p among the maps in which coincide with on . The case p = 1 has been already studied in [Bourgoin J.-C. Calc. Var. (to appear)]. Then, we extend results of Hong (see Ann. Inst. Poincaré Anal. Non-linéaire 17: 35–46 (2000)). Indeed, under the same assumptions for the function f, we prove that in dimension n ≥  7 for any real with , the map minimizes E _f,p among the maps in which coincide with on .      

The minimality of the map \frac{x}{\|{x}\|} for weighted energy

In this paper, we investigate the minimality of the map from the Euclidean unit ball Bⁿ to its boundary 핊ⁿ⁻¹ for weighted energy functionals of the type E_p,f = ∫_Bⁿ f(r)‖∇ u‖^p dx, where f is a non-negative function. We prove that in each of the two following cases:

Generalized I-nonexpansive selfmaps and invariant approximations

Common fixed point results for new classes of noncommuting selfmaps satisfying generalized I-contraction or I-nonexpansive type conditions are established. We apply them to obtain several invariant approximation results which unify, extend, and complement the well-known results.

Conformal and semi-conformal biharmonic maps

We show that a conformal mapping between Riemannian manifolds of the same dimension n ≥ 3 is biharmonic if and only if the gradient of its dilation satisfies a certain second-order elliptic partial differential equation. On an Einstein manifold solutions can be generated from isoparametric functions. We characterise those semi-conformal submersions that are biharmonic in terms of their dilation and the fibre mean curvature vector field.      

A Theorem of Liouville Type for p-Harmonic Morphisms

In this article we prove a Liouville type theorem for p-harmonic morphisms. We show that if : MNis a p-harmonic morphism (p2) from a complete noncompact Riemannian manifold Mof nonnegative Ricci curvature into a Riemannian manifold Nof nonpositive scalar curvature such that the p-energy E _p (), or (2p–2)-energy E _2p–2() is finite, then is constant.     

On the Gauss map of B-scrolls in 3-dimensional Lorentzian space forms

In this note we show that B-scrolls over null curves in a 3-dimensional Lorentzian space form are characterized as the only ruled surfaces with null rulings whose Gauss maps G satisfy the condition being a parallel endomorphism of .     

Counting the number of indecomposable representations and a q-analogue of the Weyl-Kac denominator identity of type $$ \tilde B_n $$

By using Frobenius maps and F-stable representations, we count the number of isomorphism classes of indecomposable representations with the fixed dimension vector of a species of type over a finite field, first, and then, as an application, give a q-analogue of the Weyl-Kac denominator identity of type . On A(X) → TC(X) for some X

Let X be a connected based space and p be a two-regular prime number. If the fundamental group of X has order p, we compute the two-primary homotopy groups of the homotopy fiber of the trace map A(X) → TC(X) relating algebraic K-theory of spaces to topological cyclic homology. The proof uses a theorem of Dundas and an explicit calculation of the cyclotomic trace map K(ℤ[C_p])→ TC(ℤ[C_p]).

A Version of the Ruh--Vilms Theorem for Surfaces of Constant Mean Curvature in S 3

We study a version of the Gauss map for a surface immersed in and prove an analog of the Ruh--Vilms theorem which states that this map is harmonic iff has a constant mean curvature. As a corollary, we conclude that an embedded flat torus with constant mean curvature is a spherical Delonay surface.     

F-actions and parallel-product decomposition of reflexible maps

The parallel product of two rooted maps was introduced by S.E. Wilson in 1994. The main question of this paper is whether for a given reflexible map M one can decompose the map into a parallel product of two reflexible maps. This can be achieved if and only if the monodromy (or the automorphism) group of the map has at least two minimal normal subgroups. All reflexible maps up to 100 edges, which are not parallel-product decomposable, are calculated and presented. For this purpose, all degenerate and slightly-degenerate reflexible maps are classified. In this paper the theory of F-actions is developed including a classification of quotients and parallel-product decomposition. Projections and lifts of automorphisms for quotients and for parallel products are studied. The theory can be immediately applied on rooted maps and rooted hypermaps as they are special cases of F-actions.     

Transformations and non-degenerate maps

We shall prove the equivalences of a non-degenerate circle-preserving map and a Mobius transformation in Rn, of a non-degenerate geodesic-preserving map and an isometry in Hn, of a non-degenerate line-preserving map and an affine transformation in Rn. That a map is non-degenerate means that the image of the whole space under the map is not a circle, or geodesic or line respectively. These results hold without either injective or surjective, or even continuous assumptions, which are new and of a fundamental nature in geometry.     

S. V. Kovalevskaya system, its generalization and discretization

We consider an integrable three-dimensional system of ordinary differential equations introduced by S. V. Kovalevskaya in a letter to G. Mittag-Leffler. We prove its isomorphism with the three-dimensional Euler top, and propose two integrable discretizations for it. Then we present an integrable generalization of the Kovalevskaya system, and study the problem of integrable discretization for this generalized system.
