Let q be a prime and A a finite q-group of exponent q acting by automorphisms on a finite \(q'\)-group G. Assume that A has order at least \(q^3\). We show that if \(\gamma _{\infty } (C_{G}(a))\) has order at most m for any \(a \in A^{\#}\), then the order of \(\gamma _{\infty } (G)\) is bounded solely in terms of m and q. If \(\gamma _{\infty } (C_{G}(a))\) has rank at most r for any \(a \in A^{\#}\), then the rank of \(\gamma _{\infty } (G)\) is bounded solely in terms of r and q.  相似文献

We consider the Schubert code \(C_{\alpha }(2, m)\) associated to the \(\mathbb {F}_q\)-rational points of the Schubert variety \(\Omega _{\alpha }(2,m)\) in the Grassmannian \(G_{2,m}\). A correspondence between codewords of \(C_{\alpha }(2, m)\) and skew-symmetric matrices of certain special form is given. Using this correspondence, we give a formula for all possible weights of codewords in \(C_{\alpha }(2, m)\). It is shown that the weight of each codeword is divisible by certain power of q. Further, a formula for the weight spectrum of the Schubert code \(C_{\alpha }(2, m)\) is given.  相似文献

A decomposition of the blocks of an \(\textsf {STS}(v)\) into partial parallel classes of size m is equivalent to a Kirkman signal set \(\textsf {KSS}(v,m)\). We give decompositions of \(\textsf {STS}(4v-3)\) into classes of size \(v-1\) when \(v \equiv 3 \pmod {6}\), \(v \not = 3\). We also give decompositions of \(\textsf {STS}(v)\) into classes of various sizes when v is a product of two arbitrary integers that are both congruent to \(3 \pmod {6}\). These results produce new families of \(\textsf {KSS}(v,m)\).  相似文献

In this paper, we study the first eigenvalue of Jacobi operator on an n-dimensional non-totally umbilical compact hypersurface with constant mean curvature H in the unit sphere \(S^{n+1}(1)\). We give an optimal upper bound for the first eigenvalue of Jacobi operator, which only depends on the mean curvature H and the dimension n. This bound is attained if and only if, \(\varphi :\ M \rightarrow S^{n+1}(1)\) is isometric to \(S^1(r)\times S^{n-1}(\sqrt{1-r^2})\) when \(H\ne 0\) or \(\varphi :\ M \rightarrow S^{n+1}(1)\) is isometric to a Clifford torus \( S^{n-k}\left( \sqrt{\dfrac{n-k}{n}}\right) \times S^k\left( \sqrt{\dfrac{k}{n}}\right) \), for \(k=1, 2, \ldots , n-1\) when \(H=0\).  相似文献

An m-cover of the Hermitian surface \(\mathrm {H}(3,q^2)\) of \(\mathrm {PG}(3,q^2)\) is a set \(\mathcal {S}\) of lines of \(\mathrm {H}(3,q^2)\) such that every point of \(\mathrm {H}(3,q^2)\) lies on exactly m lines of \(\mathcal {S}\), and \(0<m<q+1\). Segre (Annali di Matematica Pura ed Applicata Serie Quarta 70:1–201, 1965) proved that if q is odd, then \(m=(q+1)/2\), and called such a set \(\mathcal {S}\) of lines a hemisystem. Penttila and Williford (J Comb Theory Ser A 118(2):502–509, 2011) introduced the notion of a relative hemisystem of a generalised quadrangle \(\varGamma \) with respect to a subquadrangle \(\varGamma '\): a set of lines \(\mathcal {R}\) of \(\varGamma \) disjoint from \(\varGamma '\) such that every point P of \(\varGamma \setminus \varGamma '\) has half of its lines (disjoint from \(\varGamma '\)) lying in \(\mathcal {R}\). In this paper, we provide an analogue of Segre’s result by introducing relative m-covers of generalised quadrangles of order \((q^2,q)\) with respect to a subquadrangle and proving that m must be q / 2 when the subquadrangle is doubly subtended. In particular, a relative m-cover of \(\mathrm {H}(3,q^2)\) with respect to a symplectic subgeometry \(\mathrm {W}(3,q)\) is a relative hemisystem.  相似文献

An automorphism \(\alpha \) of a Cayley graph \(\mathrm{Cay}(G,S)\) of a group G with connection set S is color-preserving if \(\alpha (g,gs) = (h,hs)\) or \((h,hs^{-1})\) for every edge \((g,gs)\in E(\mathrm{Cay}(G,S))\). If every color-preserving automorphism of \(\mathrm{Cay}(G,S)\) is also affine, then \(\mathrm{Cay}(G,S)\) is a Cayley color automorphism (CCA) graph. If every Cayley graph \(\mathrm{Cay}(G,S)\) is a CCA graph, then G is a CCA group. Hujdurovi? et al. have shown that every non-CCA group G contains a section isomorphic to the non-abelian group \(F_{21}\) of order 21. We first show that there is a unique non-CCA Cayley graph \(\Gamma \) of \(F_{21}\). We then show that if \(\mathrm{Cay}(G,S)\) is a non-CCA graph of a group G of odd square-free order, then \(G = H\times F_{21}\) for some CCA group H, and \(\mathrm{Cay}(G,S) = \mathrm{Cay}(H,T)\mathbin {\square }\Gamma \).  相似文献

We show that every frame can be essentially embedded in a Boolean frame, and that this embedding is the maximal essential extension of the frame in the sense that it factors uniquely through any other essential extension. This extension can be realized as the embedding \(L \rightarrow \mathcal {N}(L) \rightarrow \mathcal {B}\mathcal {N}(L)\), where \(L \rightarrow \mathcal {N}(L)\) is the familiar embedding of L into its congruence frame \(\mathcal {N}(L)\), and \(\mathcal {N}(L) \rightarrow \mathcal {B}\mathcal {N}(L)\) is the Booleanization of \(\mathcal {N}(L)\). Finally, we show that for subfit frames the extension can also be realized as the embedding \(L \rightarrow {{\mathrm{S}}}_\mathfrak {c}(L)\) of L into its complete Boolean algebra \({{\mathrm{S}}}_\mathfrak {c}(L)\) of sublocales which are joins of closed sublocales.  相似文献

In this paper, we show that for a positive operator A on a Hilbert \(C^*\)-module \( \mathscr {E} \), the range \( \mathscr {R}(A) \) of A is closed if and only if \( \mathscr {R}(A^\alpha ) \) is closed for all \(\alpha \in (0,1)\cup (1,+\,\infty )\), and this occurs if and only if \( \mathscr {R}(A)=\mathscr {R}(A^\alpha ) \) for all \(\alpha \in (0,1)\cup (1,+\,\infty )\). As an application, we prove that for an adjontable operator A if \(\mathscr {R}(A)\) is nonclosed, then \(\dim \left( \overline{\mathscr {R}(A)}/\mathscr {R}(A)\right) =+\,\infty \). Finally, we show that for an adjointable operator A if \( \overline{\mathscr {R}(A^*) } \) is orthogonally complemented in \( \mathscr {E} \), then under certain coditions there exists an idempotent C and a unique operator X such that \( XAX=X, AXA=CA, AX=C \) and \( XA=P_{A^*} \), where \( P_{A^*} \) is the orthogonal projection of \( \mathscr {E} \) onto \( \overline{\mathscr {R}(A^*)}\).  相似文献

We consider in a group \((G,\cdot )\) the ternary relation
$$\begin{aligned} \kappa := \{(\alpha , \beta , \gamma ) \in G^3 \ | \ \alpha \cdot \beta ^{-1} \cdot \gamma = \gamma \cdot \beta ^{-1} \cdot \alpha \} \end{aligned}$$
and show that \(\kappa \) is a ternary equivalence relation if and only if the set \( \mathfrak Z \) of centralizers of the group G forms a fibration of G (cf. Theorems 2, 3). Therefore G can be provided with an incidence structure
$$\begin{aligned} \mathfrak G:= \{\gamma \cdot Z \ | \ \gamma \in G , Z \in \mathfrak Z(G) \}. \end{aligned}$$
We study the automorphism group of \((G,\kappa )\), i.e. all permutations \(\varphi \) of the set G such that \( (\alpha , \beta , \gamma ) \in \kappa \) implies \((\varphi (\alpha ),\varphi (\beta ),\varphi (\gamma ))\in \kappa \). We show \(\mathrm{Aut}(G,\kappa )=\mathrm{Aut}(G,\mathfrak G)\), \(\mathrm{Aut} (G,\cdot ) \subseteq \mathrm{Aut}(G,\kappa )\) and if \( \varphi \in \mathrm{Aut}(G,\kappa )\) with \(\varphi (1)=1\) and \(\varphi (\xi ^{-1})= (\varphi (\xi ))^{-1}\) for all \(\xi \in G\) then \(\varphi \) is an automorphism of \((G,\cdot )\). This allows us to prove a representation theorem of \(\mathrm{Aut}(G,\kappa )\) (cf. Theorem 6) and that for \(\alpha \in G \) the maps
$$\begin{aligned} \tilde{\alpha }\ : \ G \rightarrow G;~ \xi \mapsto \alpha \cdot \xi ^{-1} \cdot \alpha \end{aligned}$$
of the corresponding reflection structure \((G, \widetilde{G})\) (with \( \tilde{G} := \{\tilde{\gamma }\ | \ \gamma \in G \}\)) are point reflections. If \((G ,\cdot )\) is uniquely 2-divisible and if for \(\alpha \in G\), \(\alpha ^{1\over 2}\) denotes the unique solution of \(\xi ^2=\alpha \) then with \(\alpha \odot \beta := \alpha ^{1\over 2} \cdot \beta \cdot \alpha ^{1\over 2}\), the pair \((G,\odot )\) is a K-loop (cf. Theorem 5).

Denote by \({{\mathcal {G}}}_k(V)\) the Grassmannian of the k-subspaces of a vector space V over a field \({\mathbb {K}}\). There is a natural correspondence between hyperplanes H of \({\mathcal {G}}_k(V)\) and alternating k-linear forms on V defined up to a scalar multiple. Given a hyperplane H of \({{\mathcal {G}}_k}(V)\), we define a subspace \(R^{\uparrow }(H)\) of \({{\mathcal {G}}_{k-1}}(V)\) whose elements are the \((k-1)\)-subspaces A such that all k-spaces containing A belong to H. When \(n-k\) is even, \(R^{\uparrow }(H)\) might be empty; when \(n-k\) is odd, each element of \({\mathcal {G}}_{k-2}(V)\) is contained in at least one element of \(R^{\uparrow }(H)\). In the present paper, we investigate several properties of \(R^{\uparrow }(H)\), settle some open problems and propose a conjecture.  相似文献

We generalize the notions of hypercyclic operators, \(\mathfrak {U}\)-frequently hypercyclic operators and frequently hypercyclic operators by introducing a new concept in linear dynamics, namely \(\mathcal {A}\)-hypercyclicity. We then state an \(\mathcal {A}\)-hypercyclicity criterion, inspired by the hypercyclicity criterion and the frequent hypercyclicity criterion, and we show that this criterion characterizes the \(\mathcal {A}\)-hypercyclicity for weighted shifts. We also investigate which density properties can the sets \({N(x, U)=\{n\in \mathbb {N}\ ; \ T^nx\in U\}}\) have for a given hypercyclic operator, and we study the new notion of reiteratively hypercyclic operators.  相似文献

For a very ample line bundle L on a smooth projective algebraic curve C, we prove that, under some circumstances on positive integers \(\gamma , d\), if one had \(\dim V^{d-1}_{d}(L)=d-1-\gamma \), then the scheme \(V^{\gamma +2}_{\gamma +3}(L)\), if non-empty, would be 2-dimensional. Furthermore, for a 2-very ample line bundle L on C and an integer d, \(4\le d\le h^0(L)-2\), it will be proved that the dimension of the scheme \( V^{d-1}_{d}(L)\) cannot attain its maximum value, i.e. \(d-2\). This will be used to prove irreduciblity of the highest secant loci of L, namely \(V^{h^0(L)-2}_{h^0(L)-1}(L)\). Then we discuss on the existence of very ample line bundles having reducible highest secant loci on k-gonal curves. Extending a well-known result of Montserrat Teixidor to secant loci, our results answer a question proposed and left unanswered recently by Marian Aprodu and Edoardo Sernesi.  相似文献

Let k be an odd positive integer, L a lattice on a regular positive definite k-dimensional quadratic space over \(\mathbb {Q}\), \(N_L\) the level of L, and \(\mathscr {M}(L)\)  be the linear space of \(\theta \)-series attached to the distinct classes in the genus of L. We prove that, for an odd prime \(p|N_L\), if \(L_p=L_{p,1}\,\bot \, L_{p,2}\), where \(L_{p,1}\) is unimodular, \(L_{p,2}\) is (p)-modular, and \(\mathbb {Q}_pL_{p,2}\) is anisotropic, then \(\mathscr {M}(L;p):=\) \(\mathscr {M}(L)\) \(+T_{p^2}.\) \(\mathscr {M}(L)\)  is stable under the Hecke operator \(T_{p^2}\). If \(L_2\) is isometric to \(\left( \begin{array}{ll}0&{}\frac{1}{2}\\ \frac{1}{2}&{}0\end{array}\right) ^{\kappa }\,\bot \, \langle \varepsilon \rangle \) or \(\left( \begin{array}{ll}0&{}\frac{1}{2}\\ \frac{1}{2}&{}0\end{array}\right) ^{\kappa }\,\bot \, \langle 2\varepsilon \rangle \) or \(\left( \begin{array}{ll}0&{}1\\ 1&{}0\end{array}\right) ^{\kappa }\,\bot \, \langle \varepsilon \rangle \) with \(\varepsilon \in \mathbb {Z}_2^{\times }\) and \(\kappa :=\frac{k-1}{2}\), then \(\mathscr {M}(L;2):=T_{2^2}.\mathscr {M}(L)+T_{2^2}^2.\,\mathscr {M}(L)\) is stable under the Hecke operator \(T_{2^2}\). Furthermore, we determine some invariant subspaces of the cusp forms for the Hecke operators.  相似文献

Let A be an ordered Banach algebra with a unit \(\mathbf{e}\) and a cone \(A^+\). An element p of A is said to be an order idempotent if \(p^2 = p\) and \(0 \le p\le \mathbf{e}\). An element \(a\in A^+\) is said to be irreducible if the relation \((\mathbf{e}-p)ap = 0\), where p is an order idempotent, implies \(p = 0\) or \(p = \mathbf{e}\). For an arbitrary element a of A the peripheral spectrum \(\sigma _\mathrm{per}(a)\) of a is the set \(\sigma _\mathrm{per}(a) = \{\lambda \in \sigma (a):|\lambda | = r(a)\}\), where \(\sigma (a)\) is the spectrum of a and r(a) is the spectral radius of a. We investigate properties of the peripheral spectrum of an irreducible element a. Conditions under which \(\sigma _\mathrm{per}(a)\) contains or coincides with \(r(a)H_m\), where \(H_m\) is the group of all \(m^\mathrm{th}\) roots of unity, and the spectrum \(\sigma (a)\) is invariant under rotation by the angle \(\frac{2\pi }{m}\) for some \(m\in {\mathbb N}\), are given. The correlation between these results and the existence of a cyclic form of a is considered. The conditions under which a is primitive, i.e., \(\sigma _\mathrm{per}(a) = \{r(a)\}\), are studied. The necessary assumptions on the algebra A which imply the validity of these results, are discussed. In particular, the Lotz–Schaefer axiom is introduced and finite-rank elements of A are defined. Other approaches to the notions of irreducibility and primitivity are discussed. Conditions under which the inequalities \(0 \le b < a\) imply \(r(b) < r(a)\) are studied. The closedness of the center \(A_\mathbf{e}\), i.e., of the order ideal generated by \(\mathbf{e}\) in A, is proved.  相似文献

In most classical holomorphic function spaces on the unit disk in which the polynomials are dense, a function f can be approximated in norm by its dilates \(f_r(z):=f(rz)~(r<1)\). We show that this is not the case for the de Branges–Rovnyak spaces \(\mathcal{H}(b)\). More precisely, we exhibit a space \(\mathcal{H}(b)\) in which the polynomials are dense and a function \(f\in \mathcal{H}(b)\) such that \(\lim _{r\rightarrow 1^-}\Vert f_r\Vert _{\mathcal{H}(b)}=\infty \). On the positive side, we prove the following approximation theorem for Toeplitz operators on general de Branges–Rovnyak spaces \(\mathcal{H}(b)\). If \((h_n)\) is a sequence in \(H^\infty \) such that \(\Vert h_n\Vert _{H^\infty }\le 1\) and \(h_n(0)\rightarrow 1\), then \(\Vert T_{\overline{h}_n}f-f\Vert _{\mathcal{H}(b)}\rightarrow 0\) for all \(f\in \mathcal{H}(b)\). Using this result, we give the first constructive proof that, if b is a nonextreme point of the unit ball of \(H^\infty \), then the polynomials are dense in \(\mathcal{H}(b)\).  相似文献

Maru?i?–Scapellato graphs are vertex-transitive graphs of order \(m(2^k + 1)\), where m divides \(2^k - 1\), whose automorphism group contains an imprimitive subgroup that is a quasiprimitive representation of \(\mathrm{SL}(2,2^k)\) of degree \(m(2^k + 1)\). We show that any two Maru?i?–Scapellato graphs of order pq, where p is a Fermat prime, and q is a prime divisor of \(p - 2\), are isomorphic if and only if they are isomorphic by a natural isomorphism derived from an automorphism of \(\mathrm{SL}(2,2^k)\). This work is a contribution towards the full characterization of vertex-transitive graphs of order a product of two distinct primes.  相似文献

We find conditions for the weighted boundedness of a general class of multidimensional singular integral operators in generalized Morrey spaces \(\mathcal {L}^{p,\varphi }(\mathbb {R}^n,w),\) defined by a function \(\varphi (x,r)\) and radial type weight \(w(|x-x_0|), x_0\in {\mathbb {R}}^{n}.\) These conditions are given in terms of inclusion into \(\mathcal {L}^{p,\varphi }(\mathbb {R}^n,w),\) of a certain integral constructions defined by \(\varphi \) and w. In the case of \(\varphi =\varphi (r)\) we also provide easy to check sufficient conditions for that in terms of indices of \(\varphi \) and w.  相似文献

For a large class of finite dimensional inner product spaces V, over division \(*\)-rings F, we consider definable relations on the subspace lattice \(\mathsf{L}(V)\) of V, endowed with the operation of taking orthogonals. In particular, we establish translations between the relevant first order languages, in order to associate these relations with definable and invariant relations on F—focussing on the quantification type of defining formulas. As an intermediate structure we consider the \(*\)-ring \(\mathsf{R}(V)\) of endomorphisms of V, thereby identifying \(\mathsf{L}(V)\) with the lattice of right ideals of \(\mathsf{R}(V)\), with the induced involution. As an application, model completeness of F is shown to imply that of \(\mathsf{R}(V)\) and \(\mathsf{L}(V)\).  相似文献

Let \(\mathcal {A}\subset \left( {\begin{array}{c}[n]\\ r\end{array}}\right) \) be a compressed, intersecting family and let \(X\subset [n]\). Let \(\mathcal {A}(X)=\{A\in \mathcal {A}:A\cap X\ne \emptyset \}\) and \(\mathcal {S}_{n,r}=\left( {\begin{array}{c}[n]\\ r\end{array}}\right) (\{1\})\). Motivated by the Erd?s–Ko–Rado theorem, Borg asked for which \(X\subset [2,n]\) do we have \(|\mathcal {A}(X)|\le |\mathcal {S}_{n,r}(X)|\) for all compressed, intersecting families \(\mathcal {A}\)? We call X that satisfy this property EKR. Borg classified EKR sets X such that \(|X|\ge r\). Barber classified X, with \(|X|\le r\), such that X is EKR for sufficiently large n, and asked how large n must be. We prove n is sufficiently large when n grows quadratically in r. In the case where \(\mathcal {A}\) has a maximal element, we sharpen this bound to \(n>\varphi ^{2}r\) implies \(|\mathcal {A}(X)|\le |\mathcal {S}_{n,r}(X)|\). We conclude by giving a generating function that speeds up computation of \(|\mathcal {A}(X)|\) in comparison with the naïve methods.  相似文献
