The motion of a pair of edge dislocations in an elastic field of point defects is investigated taking into account the interaction of dislocations both with each other and with the phonon subsystem of the crystal. It is demonstrated that the retarding force is a nonmonotonic function of the velocity of dislocation glide with two extrema displayed under certain conditions.  相似文献

Debye-like screening by edge dislocations of some externally given stress is studied by means of a variational approach to coarse grained field theory. Explicitly given are the force field and the induced geometrically necessary dislocation (GND) distribution, in the special case of a single glide axis in 2D, for (i) a single edge dislocation and (ii) a dislocation wall. Numerical simulation demonstrates that the correlation in relaxed dislocation configurations is in good agreement with the induced GND in case (i). Furthermore, the result (ii) well predicts the experimentally observed decay length for the GND developing close to grain boundaries.  相似文献

The glide of an edge dislocation in a crystal containing circular dislocation loops is studied theoretically. An analytical expression is obtained for the drag force exerted on a dislocation by various types of dislocation loops, and it is shown that this force depends significantly on the orientation of the Burgers vector of immobile dislocation loops with respect to the gliding dislocation line. The F /F ratio of the drag force for the parallel orientation of the Burgers vectors of the loops with respect to the gliding dislocation line (F ) and the drag force for the perpendicular orientation (F ) is equal to K(v/c)2, where v is the velocity of the dislocation; c is the velocity of acoustic waves in the crystal; and K is a dimensionless coefficient, whose value is of the order of the ratio of the concentrations of dislocation loops with parallel and perpendicular orientations of the Burgers vector.  相似文献

To study the nanoscopic interaction between edge dislocations and a phase boundary within a two-phase microstructure the effect of the phase contrast on the internal stress field due to the dislocations needs to be taken into account. For this purpose a 2D semi-discrete model is proposed in this paper. It consists of two distinct phases, each with its specific material properties, separated by a fully coherent and non-damaging phase boundary. Each phase is modelled as a continuum enriched with a Peierls–Nabarro (PN) dislocation region, confining dislocation motion to a discrete plane, the glide plane. In this paper, a single glide plane perpendicular to and continuous across the phase boundary is considered. Along the glide plane bulk induced shear tractions are balanced by glide plane shear tractions based on the classical PN model. The model's ability to capture dislocation obstruction at phase boundaries, dislocation pile-ups and dislocation transmission is studied. Results show that the phase contrast in material properties (e.g. elastic stiffness, glide plane properties) alone creates a barrier to the motion of dislocations from a soft to a hard phase. The proposed model accounts for the interplay between dislocations, external boundaries and phase boundary and thus represents a suitable tool for studying edge dislocation–phase boundary interaction in two-phase microstructures.  相似文献

对镍铬合金中单一滑移面内和两个滑移面间的位错反应,特别是动态下的反应,进行了透射电子显微镜观察,并对其中的一些位错组态进行了衍衬分析。1.六角位错网络主要是单一滑移面内柏氏矢量相差120°的两组位错间反应的结果;2.与螺型位错一样,刃型或混合型位错也能在两个滑移面间交滑移;3.两个滑移面间的位错反应有时在其截线方向生成不滑动的位错(如L.C.位错锁)并不能完全阻挡住这两个滑移面上的位错运动;4.在含铝、钛的镍铬合金中,超点阵位错的反应与不含铝、钛的合金或无序固溶体中的位错反应相似。 关键词:  相似文献

在FCC单晶铜中构造了滑移面为(111),伯格矢量为b=[112]/6的圆形不完全位错环.采用分子动力学方法模拟了该位错环在0—350 K温度区间内的自收缩过程.模拟结果发现:零温度下,位错不能跨越Peierls-Nabarro势垒运动,迁移速度为0;50 K温度下,螺型和刃型位错具有基本相同的迁移速度;随温度增加,刃型位错具有较大迁移速度;温度较高时,位错核宽度进一步增加;小位错环周围的局部应力,引起4个脱体位错环;脱体位错环在原位错的应力作用下逐渐生长,原位错消失后,在自相 关键词: 单晶铜 位错环 分子动力学 位错源  相似文献

The dynamic retardation of the motion of screw dislocations at point defects is investigated taking into account the excitation of transverse vibrations of dislocation elements both in the glide plane and in the plane normal to it. It is shown that the inclusion of the vibrations of the dislocation elements in the plane normal to the glide plane does not change the dependence of the retarding force on the glide rate and defect concentration but considerably increases the magnitude of this force (specifically in the case of the isotropic model, the retarding force increases by a factor of 2).  相似文献

A new computer simulation method employed in discrete dislocation dynamics is presented. The article summarizes results of an application of the method to elementary interactions among glide dislocations and dipolar dislocation loops. The glide dislocations are represented by parametrically described curves moving in glide planes whereas the dipolar loops are treated as rigid objects. All mutual force interactions are considered in the models. As a consequence, the computational complexity rapidly increases with the number of objects considered. This difficulty is treated by advanced computational techniques such as suitable accurate numerical methods and parallel implementation of the algorithms. Therefore the method is able to simulate particular phenomena of dislocation dynamics which occur in crystalline solids deformed by single slip: generation of glide dislocations from the Frank-Read source, interaction of glide dislocations with obstacles, their encounters in channels of the bands, sweeping of dipolar loops by glide dislocations and a loop clustering.  相似文献

The proximity of interfaces gives prominence to image forces experienced by dislocations. The presence of surface stress alters the traction-free boundary conditions existing on free-surfaces and hence is expected to alter the magnitude of the image force. In the current work, using a combined simulation of surface stress and an edge dislocation in a semi-infinite body, we evaluate the configurational effects on the system. We demonstrate that if the extra half-plane of the edge dislocation is parallel to the surface, the image force (glide) is not altered due to surface stress; however, the dislocation experiences a torque. The surface stress breaks the ‘climb image force’ symmetry, thus leading to non-equivalence between positive and negative climb. We discover an equilibrium position for the edge dislocation in the positive ‘climb geometry’, arising due to a competition between the interaction of the dislocation stress fields with the surface stress and the image dislocation. Torque in the climb configuration is not affected by surface stress (remains zero). Surface stress is computed using a recently developed two-scale model based on Shuttleworth’s idea and image forces using a finite element model developed earlier. The effect of surface stress on the image force and torque experienced by the dislocation monopole is analysed using illustrative 3D models.  相似文献

Scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy have been applied to study the fracture of SiAlN coatings on Cu substrates under uniaxial tension. It is shown that coating spalling occurs in the zones of local curvature of the SiAlN-Cu interface which form due to dislocation glide in the substrate. Preliminary ion bombardment of the substrate suppresses dislocation-induced kinking at the coating-substrate interface and increases the adhesive strength of the coatings, thus preventing their edge delamination. At the same time, the wavy coatingsubstrate interface resulting from ion bombardment gives rise to normal stresses that lead to the buckling and spalling of the coatings in the zones of positive local curvature of the interface.  相似文献

The slip of a single edge dislocation in an elastic field of point defects chaotically distributed over a crystal with allowance for a high hydrostatic pressure has been studied theoretically. The numerical estimations have demonstrated that hydrostatic compression of some metals and alloys increases the dislocation drag force by point defects in them by several tens of percent.  相似文献

采用晶体相场法研究非对称倾侧亚晶界结构及其在应力作用下的微观运动机制.分别从温度、倾斜度角以及应力施加方向等方面对其结构及迁移过程进行分析和讨论.结果表明,非对称倾侧亚晶界由符号相同的一排刃型位错等距排列,部分出现由两个相互垂直排列的刃型位错构成的位错组;在应力作用下,非对称倾侧亚晶界迁移的微观机制包括位错的滑移和攀移、位错组分解、单个位错与位错组反应、单个位错分解以及位错湮灭;温度降低和倾斜度增大都会阻碍亚晶界的迁移过程;应力方向改变导致位错运动方向改变,从而改变晶界迁移形式.  相似文献

The dislocation widths and Peierls stresses of glide dislocations and shuffle dislocations in graphene have been studied by the improved Peierls-Nabarro (P-N) equation which contains the discrete correction. The discrete parameter is obtained from a simple dynamic model in which the interaction attributed to the variation of bond length and angle was considered. The restoring force in the improved P-N equation is given by the gradient of the generalized stacking fault energy surface (γ-surface). Our calculation shows that the widths of the shuffle dislocation and the glide dislocation are narrow and the width of the shuffle dislocation is about twice wider than the glide dislocation. The Peierls stress of a shuffle dislocation is one order of magnitude smaller than that of a glide dislocation. As a consequence, the shuffle dislocation moves more easily than the glide dislocation.  相似文献

The motion of an ensemble of edge dislocations at high-strain-rate deformation of a crystal with a high concentration of prismatic dislocation loops and point defects has been analyzed. It has been shown that, under certain conditions, the drag of an edge dislocation by prismatic dislocation loops has the character of dry friction, and the magnitude of the drag force of the dislocation is determined by the relationship between the concentration of prismatic dislocation loops and the density of mobile dislocations. An increase in the density of mobile dislocations leads to an enhancement of their collective interaction, thus facilitating the overcoming of prismatic dislocation loops by edge dislocations. The total drag force of an edge dislocation is a nonmonotonic function of the concentration of point defects, which, under certain conditions, has a minimum.  相似文献

A quasidislocation (a dislocationlike entity described here for the first time) moves at the speed of a Stoneley surface wave that travels at the interface between two different elastic solids. An Eshelby glide edge dislocation moves at the speed of a Scholte surface wave that travels at the interface between a solid and an ideal liquid. The quasidislocation and the glide edge dislocation (that moves at the Eshelby velocity) are the Green's functions of their waves. Scholte waves are planar distributions of transonic moving glide edge dislocations. They are not Stoneley waves, although often called by that name, because Stoneley waves are planar distributions of subsonic moving quasidislocations.  相似文献

The perfect single crystal has ultra-high strength but is often accompanied by catastrophic failures after yielding. This study reveals that nano-lamellar TiAl single crystals alleviate the catastrophic failure due to a post-yielding dislocation retraction through atomistic simulations and theoretical analyses. This dislocation retraction leads to a retained post-yielding strength of1.03 to 2.33 GPa(about 50% of the yielding strength). It is shown that this dislocation retraction is caused by local stress relaxation and interface-mediated image force. The local stress relaxation is due to successive dislocation nucleation in different slip systems, and the interface-mediated image force is caused by the heterogeneous interface. Based on dislocation theory, this study demonstrates that the size effect also plays a vital role in dislocation retraction. Theoretical modeling shows that the dislocation retraction occurs when the lamellar thickness is less than approximately 12 nm. Additionally, the post-yielding dislocation retraction is more pronounced at higher temperatures, making it more effective in alleviating catastrophic failures.These findings demonstrate a viable option for avoiding catastrophic failure of single crystals through nanoscale-lamellar design.  相似文献

针对刃型位错的滑移运动, 构建包含外力场与晶格原子密度耦合作用的体系自由能密度函数, 建立剪切应变作用体系的晶体相场模型. 模拟了双相双晶体系的位错攀移和滑移运动, 计算了位错滑移的Peierls势垒和滑移速度. 结果表明: 施加较大的剪切应变率作用, 体系能量变化为单调光滑曲线, 位错以恒定速度做连续运动, 具有刚性运动特征; 剪切应变率较小时, 体系能量变化出现周期波动特征, 位错运动是处于低速不连续运动状态, 运动出现周期“颠簸”式滑移运动, 具有黏滞运动特征; 位错启动运动, 存在临界的势垒. 位错启动攀移运动的Peierls势垒要比启动滑移Peierls势垒大几倍. 位错攀移和滑移运动特征与实验结果相符合.  相似文献

使用分子动力学方法,采用嵌入原子势(EAM),在0K下模拟了面心立方金属Cu单晶的刃型位错,研究了刃型位错产生对晶体体积的影响.模拟结果表明,无论使用推入还是抽出原子层的方法获得刃型位错,平衡状态时刃型位错的存在使晶体体积增大.  相似文献
