In/Pd and Pd/In/Pd thin films were prepared by thermal evaporation on the SiO2 substrate in a vacuum. The structural and optical properties of the films were investigated by means of X-ray diffractometry (XRD), Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) and spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE). Auger depth profile studies were performed in order to determine the composition of elements in the Pd-In systems. Interdiffusion of metals was detected at room temperature. Optical properties of Pd-In composite layers formed due to the interdiffusion were derived from ellipsometric quantities Ψ and Δ measured in the photon energy range 0.75-6.50 eV at different angles of incidence. The effective optical spectra show absorption peaks dependent on the composition of nonuniform films. The XRD patterns indicated formation of Pd1−xInx intermetallic phases in the samples.  相似文献

用高频溅射法制备了两套[Pd/Co-Nb/Pd/Si]多层膜,分别用X射线衍射和振动样品磁强计做了结构和磁性测量。随Pd层厚度增加(或Co-Nb层厚度减少),Pd层由非晶态过渡到晶态,并观察到Pd的fcc(111)双峰结构,双峰的位置逐渐从两侧向体材料Pd的fcc(111)峰的位置靠近。双峰来源于Co-Nb层与Pb层、Pd层与Si层的晶格失配度以及靠近这两种界面的Pd原子的极化不同。样品的饱和磁化强度随Pd层增厚(或Co-Nb层增厚)从小于同样成分的Co-Nb合金体材料的饱和磁化强度值单调增大到大于体材料  相似文献

The magnetic properties of Pd/Fe/Pd films and nanodisks with diameter 600 nm fabricated by focused ion beam milling were investigated. A fourth-order anisotropy of magnetization reversal in nanodisk arrays was observed during the experiment. It was demonstrated that the anisotropy occurs due both to the breaking of symmetry of dipole-dipole interactions at array boundaries and to the initiation of inhomogeneous configurations of magnetization in nanodisks.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of thin-film Pd/Fe/Pd trilayers in which an embedded - thick ultrathin layer of Fe induces ferromagnetism in the surrounding Pd have been investigated. The thickness of the ferromagnetic trilayer is controlled by varying the thickness of the top Pd layer over a range from 8 to . As the thickness of the top Pd layer decreases, or equivalently as the embedded Fe layer moves closer to the top surface, the saturated magnetization normalized to area and the Curie temperature decreases, whereas the coercivity increases. These thickness-dependent observations for proximity-polarized thin-film Pd are qualitatively consistent with finite size effects that are well known for regular thin-film ferromagnets. The critical exponent β of the order parameter (magnetization) is found to approach the mean field value of 0.5 as the thickness of the top Pd layer increases. The functional forms for the thickness dependences, which are strongly modified by the nonuniform exchange interaction in the polarized Pd, provide important new insights to understand nanomagnetism in two-dimensions.  相似文献

Magnetic multilayers [Co-Nb(1.5 or 3.6 nm)/Pd(x nm)]40 were fabricated by radio frequency sputtering synthesis.The structures and magnetic properties of the Co-Nb/Pd multilayers were studied by X-ray diffraction,vibrating sample magnetometer,torque magnetometer and ferromagnetic resonance measurements.The oscillatory dependence of the phase structure,the strain,the ferromagnetic inter layer coupling and the spacer polarization of multilayers on the increase of Pd spacer thickness was observed.The relationship among phase structure,strain,inte rlayer coupling and the polarization of Pd spacers was discussed.The magnetic polarization of Pd spacers will enhance the ferromagnetic coupling between magnetic layers and will restrain antiferromagnetic coupling to occur.The spin dependent electron transport along the normal direction of multilayers and its exchange interaction play key roles in causing these oscillatory behaviors.  相似文献

Magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) and X-ray absorption spectra (XAS) at the Co L2,3-edge of [Co/Pd]20 and [CoB/Pd]20 multilayered films, which were fabricated at 260 °C with different magnetic layer thicknesses (δ), have been measured. The lineshapes of XAS–MCD show that the electronic state of Co 3d of the films hardly changes even when sputtered at higher temperatures. The expectation values of orbital and spin angular momentum (〈Lz〉 and 〈Sz〉) are estimated using the sum rule, and it is found that 〈Lz〉/〈Sz〉 in δ<0.5 nm is larger than that in δ>0.5 nm.  相似文献

Ay oscillatory behavior in specific saturation magnetization of Fe/Pd multilayers is observed. The conversion electron M?ssbauer spectroscopy and other experiments indicate that this behavior is caused by the magnetic polarization of Pd spacers, which alternates between positive and negative polarization with respect to the magnetic moments of Fe layers. The interlayer coupling between two Fe layers always keeps ferromagnetic. Then, the interlayer couplings in ferromagnetic metal/nearly ferromagnetic metal multilayers were calculated By using the model of Barnas. The results of calculation prove that the above phenomenon might appear under some condition. The influence of magnetic polarization potential of spacers and interface chemical potential on the interlayer couplings is also discussed.  相似文献

Pd/Co2MnSi(CMS)/NiFe2O4(NFO)/Pd multilayers were fabricated on F-mica substrate by magnetron sputtering.The best PMA performance of the multilayer structure Pd(3 nm)/CMS(5 nm)/NFO(0.8 nm)/Pd(3 nm)was obtained by adjusting the thickness of the CMS and NFO layers.F-mica substrate has a flatter surface than glass and Si/SiO2 substrate.The magnetic anisotropy energy density(Keff)of the sample deposited on F-mica substrates is 0.6711 Merg/cm3(1 erg=10-7 J),which is about 30%higher than that of the multilayer films deposited on glass(0.475 Merg/cm3)and Si/SiO2(0.511 Merg/cm3)substrates,and the RHall and HC are also significantly increased.In this study,the NFO layer prepared by sputtering in the high purity Ar environment was exposed to the high purity O2 atmosphere for 5 min,which can effectively eliminate the oxygen loss and oxygen vacancy in NFO,ensuring enough Co-O orbital hybridization at the interface of CMS/NFO,and thus effectively improve the sample PMA.  相似文献

A method for surface doping and functionalization of ZnO nanowires (NWs) with Pd (Pd/ZnO) in a one‐step process is presented. The main advantage of this method is to combine the simultaneous growth, surface doping, and functionalization of NWs by using electrochemical deposition (ECD) at relatively low temperatures (90 °C). Our approach essentially reduces the number of technological steps of nanomaterial synthesis and final nanodevices fabrication with enhanced performances. A series of nanosensor devices is fabricated based on single Pd/ZnO NWs with a radius of about 80 nm using a FIB/SEM system. The influence of Pd nominal composition in Pd/ZnO NW on the H2 sensing response is studied in detail and a corresponding mechanism is proposed. The results demonstrate an ultra‐high response and selectivity of the synthesized nanosensors to hydrogen gas at room temperature. The optimal concentration of PdCl2 in the electrolyte to achieve extremely sensitive nanodevices with a gas response (SH2) ≈ 1.3 × 104 (at 100 ppm H2 concentration) and relatively high rapidity is 0.75 µM. Theoretical calculations on Pd/ZnO bulk and functionalized surface further validated the experimental hypothesis. Our results demonstrate the importance of noble metal presence on the surface due to doping and functionalization of nanostructures in the fabrication of highly‐sensitive and selective gas nanosensors operating at room temperature with reduced power consumption.  相似文献

Magnetic multilayers[Co(1.5 nm)/Pd(x nm)]40 grown by rf sputtering were studied by X-ray diffraction,vibrating sample magnetometer,torque magnetomet er and magnetoresistance measurements.The dependences of the interfacial roughne ss and the structure perfectness of Co/Pd multilayers on the spacer Pd layer thi ckness have been revealed from X-ray diffraction data.An oscillatory variation of saturation magnetization versus the thickness of the Pd spacer was observed.A similar oscillatory behavior in the dependence of its magnetic anisotropy on the thickness of the Pd spacer was observed.It is suggested from these two phenomen a that the magnetic polarization of Pd spacers oscillates between ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic polarization with the increase of Pd spacer thickness under a RKKY-like interaction.Evidence is found for the antiferromagnetic polarization of the inner part of the Pd spacer.The antiferromagnetic coupling between two Co layers and giant magnetoresistance effect in Co/Pd multilayer system were not observed.The relationship among structure,interlayer coupling and magnetic polarization effect of the Pd spacer was discussed.  相似文献

Yields of protons emitted in the D+D reaction in Pd, Au/Pd/PdO, Ti, and Au foils are measured by a d E-E counter telescope for bombarding energies between 2.5 and 10 keV. The experimental yields are compared with those predicted from a parametrization of the cross section and stopping power at higher energies. It is found that for Ti and Au target the enhancement of the D(d,p)T reaction is similar to that observed with a deuterium gas target (several tens of eV). The dependence of the yields on the bombarding energy corresponds well to the screening potential parameters U s=250±15 eV for Pd and 601 ±23 eV for Au/Pd/PdO. Electronic structure of epitaxial Co films on Pd(111) has been investigated as a function of the Co overlayer thickness, by using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES). It is found that experimental band structures for Pd(111) and work functions for Co/Pd(111) agree reasonably well with the results of band structure calculations. Compared to Pd(111), valence band ARPES spectra of Co/Pd(111) support the existence of the induced magnetic polarization of Pd atoms near the interface, suggesting large hybridization between Co 3d and Pd 4d states near the interface.  相似文献

Profile imaging observations of clean palladium surfaces suggested that surface diffusion occurred by the slip of surface Shockley partial dislocations resulting in the depletion of material from the surface. The formation of PdO patches under strong electron irradiation and the epitaxial orientation relationships which developed between the oxide and the Pd matrix were studied at the atomic scale. The newly formed PdO crystals were not usually stable against further intense irradiation. Their disintegration as well as depletion has been considered in terms of the mechanical behavior of PdO crystals.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of Ni/Pd multilayers, prepared by sequential evaporation in ultrahigh vacuum, have been studied. The Ni thickness dependence of the magnetization and magnetic anisotropy is discussed. The temperature dependence of the spontaneous magnetization is well described by a T3/2 law in all multilayers. A spin-wave theory has been used to explain the temperature dependence of the spontaneous magnetization, and the approximate values for the exchange interactions for various Ni layer thicknesses have been obtained.  相似文献

Effects of the introduction of a Pd/Si dual seedlayer on the microcrystalline structure and magnetic properties of [Co/Pd]n multilayered perpendicular magnetic recording media were investigated. The Pd/Si dual seedlayer was composed of a Pd upper seedlayer and a Si under seedlayer. The Pd upper seedlayer with a thickness of up to 10 nm markedly increased the coercivity of [Co/Pd]n multilayered media in the direction perpendicular to the film surface. The highest coercivity of 7.8 kOe was obtained for the [Co/Pd]10 medium with a Pd (10 nm)/Si (100 nm) dual seedlayer. The Pd upper seedlayer not only facilitated the formation of regular interfaces between the Co and Pd layers, but also reduced the thickness of the deteriorated initial layer in the [Co/Pd]n multilayer, resulting in enhancement of the magnetic anisotropy field. The [Co/Pd]n multilayered medium with the Pd/Si dual seedlayer exhibited weak intergranular exchange coupling between [Co/Pd]n grains, which led to excellent read–write characteristics.  相似文献

Multilayer films of Fe(x)/Pd(30 Å) (6≤x≤30 Å) are investigated with the help of the transversal Kerr effect (TKE) with incident light in the energy range 1.3–3.6 eV. Oscillations of the TKE depending on the thickness of the iron layer are revealed. The off-diagonal element of the dielectric tensor ? 2 is calculated using themeasured values of the TKE for two incidence angles of light and the optical constants of all samples. It is shown that the quantity ? 2 ω2 (where ω is the frequency of incident light), which is proportional to the interband density of states, also oscillates, and its oscillations are similar in character to oscillations of the Kerr effect. The observed oscillatory dependence of the TKE and of the interband density of states are related to the manifestation of quantum confinement effects.  相似文献
