The head-on collision between two ion-acoustic solitary waves in an unmagnetized electron-positron-ion plasma has been investigated. By using the extended Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo perturbation method, we obtain the KdV equation and the analytical phase shift after the head-on collision of two solitary waves in this three-component plasma. The effects of the ratio of electron temperature to positron temperature, and the ratio of the number density of positrons to that of electrons on the phase shift are studied. It is found that these parameters can significantly influence the phase shifts of the solitons. Moreover, the compressive solitary wave can propagate in this system.  相似文献

采用双曲函数展开法得到Modified Benjamin-Bona-Mahony(mBBM)方程的一类扭结-反扭结状的双扭结孤立波解,在不同的极限情况下,此孤立波分别退化为mBBM方程的扭结状和钟状孤立波解.对双扭结型单孤子的结构特征进行分析,构造有限差分格式对其动力学稳定性进行数值研究.有限差分格式为两层隐式格式,在线性化意义下无条件稳定.数值结果表明mBBM方程的双扭结型单孤子在不同类型的扰动下均具有很强的稳定性.对双孤立波的碰撞进行数值模拟,发现既存在弹性碰撞也存在非弹性碰撞.  相似文献

The head-on collision of ion acoustic solitary waves are studied in an electron-positron-ion plasma composed of superthermal electrons, superthermal positrons, and cold ions using the extended Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo (PLK) method. The effects of the ratio of electron to positron temperature, the spectral index of electron and positron, and the concentration of positron component on the phase shift are studied. It is found that the presence of superthermal electrons and superthermal positrons play a significant role on the collision of ion acoustic solitary waves. It is also been observed that the temperature ratio plays a significant role on the collision of ion acoustic solitary waves.  相似文献

The characteristics of the head-on collision between two-quantum ion-acoustic solitary waves (QIASWs) in a dense electron-positron-ion plasma are investigated. Using the extended Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo (PLK) method, the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equations and the analytical phase shifts, after two QIASWs collision occurs, are derived. This study is a first attempt to illustrate the effects of both of the quantum diffraction corrections and the Fermi temperature ratio of positrons to electrons on the phase shifts. It is found that the electron-positron-ion plasma parameters modify significantly the phase shifts of the two colliding solitary waves.  相似文献

We study the head-on collision of two solitary waves in a precompressed granular chain using the discrete element method.Our study takes the Toda chain solution as the initial condition for the simulations.The simulation covers the dynamical evolution of the collision process from the start of the incident wave to the end of the collision.The interaction has a central collision region of about five-grain width in which two solitary waves merge completely and share only one peak.Four stages,i.e.,the pre-in-phase traveling stage,lag-phase collision state,lead-phase collision state,and post-in-phase traveling stage,are identified to describe the complex collision processes.Our results may be helpful for explaining the existence of long-lived solitary waves seen in the simulations by Takato and Sen [Europhys.Lett.100(2012) 24003].  相似文献

In this paper the evolution of nonlinear long surface waves in a Marangoni-Bénard convecting fluid is considered. The fluid system is bounded below by an isothermic plane and above a free deformable surface, on which a heat flux is fixed. We show that the nonlinear behavior of the long surface wave is governed by the Korteweg-de Vries equation when the Rayleigh number is near its critical value. A head-on collision between two solitary waves traveling from opposite directions is also investigated by use of the Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo method. The results show that the solitary waves emerging from the collision can preserve their original identities to the second order. We investigate interactions between vectorial solitary waves through typeII second-harmonic generation. We demonstrate that one can tune the collision distance of two initially codirectional solitary waves changing their polarization state. Moreover, by adiabatic perturbation analysis, it is possible to predict such a collision distance as a function of solitary-wave separation, in good agreement with numerical simulations.  相似文献

Head-on collision between two ion acoustic solitary waves in a Thomas-Fermi plasma containing degenerate electrons and positrons is investigated using the extended Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo (PLK) method. The results show that the phase shifts due to the collision are strongly dependent on the positron-to-electron number density ratio, the electron-to-positron Fermi temperature ratio and the ion-to-electron Fermi temperature ratio. The present study might be helpful to understand the excitation of nonlinear ion-acoustic solitary waves in a degenerate plasma such as in superdense white dwarfs.  相似文献

The modulational instability of dust ion acoustic waves in a dust plasma with ion-dust collision effects is studied. Using the perturbation method, a modified nonlinear Schrodinger equation contains a damping term that comes from the effect of the ion-dust collision is derived. In the present research paper, the study of the head-on collision between two ion thermal solitary waves is investigated in a two-fluid (i.e., a pair-ion) plasma consisting of positive and negative ions as well as a fraction of stationary (positively/negatively) charged dust impurities, using the extended Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo method. The effects of the concentration of charged dust impurities and the positive-to-negative ion temperature ratio on the solitary waves collisions are investigated. It is found that the phase shift is significantly affected by the presence of the positive-to-negative ion temperature ratio and positively/negatively charged dust grains.  相似文献

通过使用推广的 Poincar-Lighthill-Kuo 摄动方法,研究了二维热离子等离子体中两个沿不同方向传播的离子声孤波的相互作用,得到了两个分别描述沿ξη方向传播的孤波的KdV方程以及两个孤波以任意夹角碰撞后的相移和轨道.同时还研究了离子温度比σ、热容比γ和碰撞夹角α对孤波相移的影响.研究表明,这些参量可以明显地改变孤波的相移,且在该系统中存在压缩型孤波. 关键词: 热离子等离子体 离子声孤波 Poincar-Lighthill-Kuo方法 相移  相似文献

In this study, we investigate the oblique collision of two ion-acoustic waves (IAWs) in a three-species plasma composed of electrons, positrons, and ions. We use the extended Poincare-Lighthill-Kuo (PLK) method to derive the two-sided Korteweg-de-Vries (KdV) equations and Hirota’s method for soliton solutions. The effects of the ratio (δ) of electron temperature to positron temperature and the ratio (p) of the number density of positrons to that of electrons on the phase shift are studied. It is observed that the phase shift is significantly influenced by the parameters mentioned above. It is also observed that for some time interval during oblique collision, one practically motionless composite structure is formed, i.e., when two ion-acoustic waves with the same amplitude interact obliquely, a new non-linear wave is formed during their collision, which means that ahead of the colliding ion-acoustic solitary waves, both the amplitude and width are greater that those of the colliding solitary waves. As a result, the nonlinear wave formed after collision is a new one and is delayed. The oblique collision of solitary waves in a two-dimensional geometry is more realistic in high-energy astrophysical pair plasmas such as the magnetosphere of neutron stars and black holes.  相似文献

The phase-shift of the large solitary wave (on the surface of water) is obtained to leading order as ? → 0, where ? is the non-dimensional amplitude of the small solitary wave. The other phase-shift is deduced from a conserved density of the full governing equations, assuming that such a two-wave interaction exists. In consideration of adiabatic dust charge variation, the combined effect of the external magnetized field and the dust temperature on head-on collision of the three-dimensional dust acoustic solitary waves is investigated. By using the extended Poincar\'e--Lighthill--Kuo method, the phase shifts and the trajectories of two solitons after the collision are obtained. The effects of the magnitude and the obliqueness of the external magnetic field and the dust temperature on the solitary wave collisions are discussed in detail.  相似文献

Using the extended Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo (EPLK) method, the interaction between two ion acoustic solitary waves (IASWs) in a multicomponent magnetized plasma (including Tsallis nonextensive electrons) has been theoretically investigated. The analytical phase shifts of the two solitary waves after interaction are estimated. The proposed model leads to rarefactive solitons only. The effects of colliding angle, ratio of number densities of (positive/negative) ions species to the density of nonextensive electrons, ion-to-electron temperature ratio, mass ratio of the negative-to-positive ions and the electron nonextensive parameter on the phase shifts are investigated numerically. The present results show that these parameters have strong effects on the phase shifts and trajectories of the two IASWs after collision. Evidently, this model is helpful for interpreting the propagation and the oblique collision of IASWs in magnetized multicomponent plasma experiments and space observations.  相似文献

从理论上研究了非热离子、外部磁场、碰撞对非均匀热尘埃等离子体中三维非线性尘埃声孤波的影响。运用约化摄动法得到描述三维非线性尘埃声孤波的非标准的变系数Korteweg-de Vries(KdV)方程。然后把非标准KdV方程变为标准的变系数KdV方程,并且得到了标准的变系数KdV方程的近似解析解。由此解析解可以看出,非热离子的数目、碰撞、非均匀性、波的斜向传播、尘埃颗粒和非热离子的温度对三维非线性尘埃声孤波的振幅和宽度有很大的影响。外部磁场对三维非线性尘埃声孤波的宽度有影响,而对其振幅没有影响。此外,波的相速度与非热离子、波的斜向传播、尘埃颗粒的温度和非均匀性有关。  相似文献

Reflections of a Korteweg-de Vries(KdV) solitary wave and an envelope solitary wave are studied by using the particle-in-cell simulation method.Defining the phase shift of the reflected solitary wave,we notice that there is a phase shift of the reflected KdV solitary wave,while there is no phase shift for an envelope solitary wave.It is also noted that the reflection of a KdV solitary wave at a solid boundary is equivalent to the head-on collision between two identical amplitude solitary waves.  相似文献

The Lagrangian density for the regularized-long-wave equation (also known as the BBM equation) is presented. Using the trial function technique, ordinary differential equations that describe the time dependence of the position of the peaks, amplitudes, and widths for the collision of two solitary waves are obtained. These equations are analyzed in the Born and “equal-width” approximations and compared with numerical results obtained by direct integration utilizing the split-step fast Fourier-transform method. The computations show that collisions are inelastic and that production of solitary waves may occur.  相似文献
