The difference between the strange and antistrange quark distributions,δs(x) = s(x) ˉs(x),and the combination of light quark sea and strange quark sea,Δ(x) =ˉ d(x) + uˉ(x) s(x) ˉs(x),are originated from non-perturbative processes and can be calculated using non-perturbative models of the nucleon.We report calculations of δs(x) and Δ(x) using the meson cloud model.Combining our calculations of Δ(x) with relatively well known light antiquark distributions obtained from global analysis of available experimental data,we estimate the total strange sea distributions of the nucleon.  相似文献

The exclusive electroproduction of pseudoscalar and vector mesons was studied with the HERMES spectrometer at the DESY laboratory by scattering 27.6 GeV positron and electron beams off a transversely polarized hydrogen target.The results are compared to calculations based on generalized parton distributions,some of which are sensitive to the contribution of the total angular momentum of the quarks to the proton spin.  相似文献

The nucleon excitation spectrum remains poorly known, with the masses, widths, EM couplings and even existence of many states not well established. A program of experiments using meson photoproduction off the nucleon is being carried out to improve this situation. A new large acceptance recoil polarimeter has been developed by the Edinburgh group for use in such reactions with the Crystal Ball at MAMI. This work summarizes the procedure used to measure recoil polarization with the new device and presents some preliminary results for the double polarization observable Cx in the reaction γp→pπ, compared to the current partial wave analysis.  相似文献

We present an overview of a research program for the excited nucleon states in Excited Baryon Analysis Center (EBAC) at Jefferson Lab. Current status of our analysis of the meson production reactions based on the unitary dynamical coupled-channels model is summarized, and the N* pole positions extracted from the constructed scattering amplitudes are presented. The photoproduction of K~+ mesons from the nucleon provides important constraints on the nucleon excitation spectrum and at threshold energies challenges effective field theories based on chiral perturbation in the strange quark sector. Preliminary cross-section measurements for γ(p, K~+)A are presented at an unprece-dented beam energy resolution. The data was collected at the MAMI-C facility in Mainz using the Crystal Ball Detector. A new method of K~+ detection was used in which the K~+ is tagged from its weak decay products in the detector crystals. This technique has application with other calorimeters at present and future hadron facilities.  相似文献

The fixed target COMPASS experiment at CERN offers the opportunity to search for exotic mesons and glueball candidates in the light quark sector with unprecedented statistics.Preliminary results from the 2008 data taken with an incoming negative hadron beam (190 GeV/c,mainly pions) on a liquid hydrogen target are presented.New detectors dedicated to hadron beam measurements have been added.These give access to rare neutral and kaonic channels.An amplitude analysis which will allow to fit simultaneously diffractively and/or centrally produced resonances will be described and compared with those used in the CERN WA102 and BNL E852 experiments.  相似文献

Within the Excited Baryon Analysis Center we have performed a dynamical coupled-channels analysis of the available p(e,e'π)N data in the region of W ≤ 1.6 GeV and Q2 ≤1.45 (GeV/c)2. The channels included are γ*N, π*N, ηN, and ηN which has π△, pN, and σN components. With the hadronic parameters of the model determined in our previous investigations of πN→ πN reaction, we have found that the available data in the considered W ≤ 1.6 GeV region can be fitted well by only adjusting the bare γ*N → N* helicity amplitudes for the lowest N* states in P33, P11, S11 and D13 partial waves. The meson cloud effect, as required by the unitarity conditions, on the γ*N → N* form factors are examined.  相似文献

The present focus of the CBELSA/TAPS experiment is on meson-photoproduction off the nucleon using polarized photons and polarized targets. Here first preliminary results on the reactions γp → pπ and γp → pπ for both circularly and linearly polarized photons and a longitudinally polarized target are presented. Preliminary results for the beam asymmetry ∑ and the double polarization observable G have been extracted for both reactions using the linear polarization data. From the circular polarization data the observable E has been determined. Due to the near 4π angular coverage of the detector system these results cover almost the full solid angle.  相似文献

Heavy-ion collisions at beam energies of 1 – 2 AGeV offer the possibility to investigate in-medium effects of strange hadrons. Experiments with Ni+Ni and Ru+Ru at beam kinetic energies of 1.93 AGeV and 1.69 AGeV, respectively, were performed and analysed. Possible evidence for in-medium effects was found in K+ flow and yield ratio of charged kaons. Recent results on ø meson production are also reported.  相似文献

We have measured rapidity densities dN/dy of pi+/- and K+/- over a broad rapidity range (-0.1 < y < 3.5) for central Au + Au collisions at square root(sNN) = 200 GeV. These data have significant implications for the chemistry and dynamics of the dense system that is initially created in the collisions. The full phase-space yields are 1660 +/- 15 +/- 133 (pi+), 1683 +/- 16 +/- 135 (pi-), 286 +/- 5 +/- 23 (K+), and 242 +/- 4 +/- 19 (K-). The systematics of the strange to nonstrange meson ratios are found to track the variation of the baryochemical potential with rapidity and energy. Landau-Carruthers hydrodynamics is found to describe the bulk transport of the pions in the longitudinal direction.  相似文献

Based on the assumption of a two-quark structure of the scalar meson f0(980) ,we calculate the branching ratios and CP-violating asymmetries for the four B → f0(980) π and B → f0(980) η^(') decays by employing the perturbative QCD(pQCD) factorization approach. The leading order pQCD predictions for branching ratios are,Br(B^-→ f0(980) π^-) ~ 2.5×10^-6,Br(Bˉ^0 → f0(980) π^0) ~ 2.6×10^-7,Br(Bˉ^0 → f0(980) η) ~ 2.5×10^-7 and Br(Bˉ^0 → f0(980) η ) ~ 6.7×10^-7,which are consistent with both the QCD factorization predictions and the experimental upper limits.  相似文献

Based on the quark-gluon contents of nucleon and strongly believing that the force mediators, Pomeron and its counterpart in the conventional approach of Regge theory, for high energy diffractive process would be the tensor glueball and Odderon respectively, we discuss photo-production of vector meson Ф off the deuteron at energy less than 3 GeV in the QCD inspired model in which the quark gluon degrees of freedom and glueball, Odderon exchange are taken into account. A calculation is performed for γ + D →Ф + D, and the theoretical predictions of the differential cross section dσ^γD/dt, are presented and compared with available experimental data. Our QCD inspired model reproduces data quite well in the whole range of the experimental measurements up to |t| ≌ 0.4 GeV. Our results can be used to extract γn → Фn data, which cannot be measured in experiment.  相似文献

We have developed an analytic continuation method for extracting parameters of nucleon resonances within a Hamiltonian formulation of meson-nucleon reactions. The method was tested for simple solvable models and then applied for our recent coupled channels model (πN, ηN, π△, ρN, and σN ) of the π*N and γ*N reactions. The resonance pole positions and their properties are studied for P11and P11 channels.  相似文献
