This paper presents modeling and experimental results of the voltage, current, and density profiles of a helical resonator plasma source. The source has a 5/4-wavelength (λ) helical resonator structure with the helical coil short-circuited at one end and open circuited at the other end. When the radio frequency (RF) tap for power feeding was located at an odd multiple of λ/4 from the short-circuited end, the observed voltage, current, and plasma density were higher in the short-circuited section than those in the open-circuited section. The opposite property was observed with the RF tap at an even multiple of λ/4. A microstrip transmission line model was used to explain the experimental results. The model accurately predicted the RF voltage and current profiles. After calculation of RF voltage and current, the plasma density was solved numerically. The difference between the calculated and measured plasma density was within a factor of two. The changes on the density profile indicate that the transport properties of plasma can be adjusted with the RF tap position  相似文献

Based upon the new designed helical resonator, the resonant radio frequency (RF) for trapping ions can be consecutively adjusted in a large range (about 12 MHz to 29 MHz) with high Q-factors (above 300). We analyze the helical resonator with a lumped element circuit model and find that the theoretical results fit well with the experimental data. With our resonator system, the resonant frequency near magic RF frequency (where the scalar Stark shift and the second-order Doppler shift due to excess micromotion cancel each other) can be continuously changed at kHz level. For 88Sr+ ion, compared to earlier results, the measurement accuracy of magic RF frequency can be improved by an order of magnitude upon rough calculation, and therefore the net micromotion frequency shifts can be further reduced. Also, the differential static scalar polarizability Δα0 of clock transition can be experimentally measured more accurately.  相似文献

Electrical characteristics were measured in a parallel-plate, capacitively coupled (E-type), low-pressure, symmetrical RF discharge driven at 13.56 MHz. The discharge voltage, current, and phase shift between them were measured over a very wide range of discharge parameters (gas pressures between 3 mtorr and 3 torr with discharge power between 20 mW and 100 W). From these measurements the discharge impedance components, the power dissipated in the plasma and in the sheaths, the sheath width, and the ion current to the RF electrodes were found over a wide range of discharge conditions. Some of the general relationships between the various measured and determined parameters are discussed. The experimental results can be used as a database for straightforward comparison with existing RF discharge models and numerical simulations  相似文献

Ions confined using a Paul trap require a stable, high voltage and low noise radio frequency (RF) potential. We present a guide for the design and construction of a helical coil resonator for a desired frequency that maximises the quality factor for a set of experimental constraints. We provide an in-depth analysis of the system formed from a shielded helical coil and an ion trap by treating the system as a lumped element model. This allows us to predict the resonant frequency and quality factor in terms of the physical parameters of the resonator and the properties of the ion trap. We also compare theoretical predictions with experimental data for different resonators, and predict the voltage applied to the ion trap as a function of the Q factor, input power and the properties of the resonant circuit.  相似文献

采用传输线模型对高阻表面表面阻抗进行建模,准确计算垂直入射条件下高阻表面的反射相位.在垂直入射条件下,过孔的影响可以忽略,将高阻表面等效为具有容性的贴片阵与具有感性的介质层的并联,利用传输线原理求得高阻表面的反射系数,再得到其反射相位.计算了不同参数的高阻表面反射相位,传输线模型计算反射相位与数值方法计算结果符合较好.制作了不同参数的高阻表面并测量其反射相位,实验结果表明传输线模型计算反射相位结果与测量结果基本符合,证明了传输线模型的正确性. 关键词: 高阻表面 反射相位 传输线模型  相似文献

The dispersion characteristics and the fields of a helical resonator are obtained. The coil is approximated by a helical current layer with infinite conductivity along the current direction (a “sheath helix”). The plasma column is modeled as a cylindrical dielectric in which the dielectric losses can be neglected in determining the propagation properties of the resonator. Assuming the plasma losses are known, the model can be used to study the matching of the helical resonator to an external power source which is connected to the helix by a tap. The resonator is modeled as a parallel connection of two transmission line segments on each side of the tap position. We determine the efficiency of power transfer to the resonator as a function of the tap position driving frequency, and plasma loading. We find that whereas for a small plasma loading it is possible to achieve perfect matching, there exists a critical value of plasma loading beyond which a perfect match is no longer possible  相似文献

利用Z-scan、电流、电压探头,通过测量等离子体吸收功率、天线电流、电压、等离子体直流悬浮电位等多种参数,研究了匹配网络、天线耦合强度、导电地面积、气压等多种因素对E,H放电模式特性及模式转化行为的影响.基于Γ型阻抗匹配网络中串联电容对射频电源输出功率的影响,提出了E—H放电模式转化的正负反馈区概念.研究发现:在相同的其他放电条件下,处于正反馈区时等离子体放电易于产生跳变型模式转化,而且模式跳变的临界天线电流、回滞宽度、跳变临界功率、跳变功率差等参数均随阻抗匹配网络参数产生明显变化;在负反馈区内,模式转化过程趋于连续.由于阻抗匹配网络的影响,E—H模式的跳变电流并不是总大于H—E模式的跳变电流.在不同导电地面积、阻抗匹配网络、气压下,模式转化过程中等离子体直流悬浮电位的变化呈现多样性. 关键词: 射频等离子体 感性耦合 容性耦合 模式转化  相似文献

理论分析了水下圆柱形Helmholtz共振器的声学特性. 综合考虑壁面弹性和辐射阻抗的影响,基于电-声类比的基本原理,建立了较为完善的水下圆柱形Helmholtz共振器的低频集中参量模型. 利用电路分析的基本方法,得到了系统的输入阻抗和声压传递函数表达式. 仿真分析了主要结构参数对共振器声学特性的影响,得出了一些有意义的结论. 在充水驻波罐中对自制的Helmholtz共振器进行了测量,并对实验结果进行了详细地误差分析. 去除压电水听器对测量结果的影响后,实验与仿真结果基本一致,从而验证了理论分析的正确性. 关键词: Helmholtz共振器 共振频率 传递函数 辐射阻抗  相似文献

This paper investigates basic characteristics of the electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) signal obtained from spectrometers employing reflection resonators. General equations are presented which reveal the phase and amplitude dependence on instrumental parameters of both components of the continuous wave (CW) EPR signal (absorption and dispersion). New phase vector diagrams derived from these general equations are presented for the analysis of the EPR response. The dependence of the phase and absolute value of the CW EPR signal on the local oscillator (LO) phase and on resonator offset and coupling is presented and analyzed. The EPR spectrometer tuning procedures for both balanced and unbalanced heterodyne receivers are analyzed in detail using the new phase diagrams. Extraneous signals at the RF input of the microwave receiver (resulting from circulator leakage and reflections in the resonator transmission line) have been taken into account and analyzed. It is shown that a final tuning condition that corresponds to an extremum of the receiver output as a function of the resonator frequency is necessary and sufficient for the acquisition of pure absorption signal. This condition is universal: it applies to all spectrometer configurations in all frequency ranges. High Frequency EPR spectrometer (130 GHz) data are used to generate experimental phase diagrams that illustrate the theoretical concepts presented in the paper. Conditions are presented under which the absorption signal can be measured with complete suppression of the dispersion, independent of the mutual frequency offset between the microwave source and the EPR sample resonator. Equations describing the approximate relationship between changes of the resonator properties (Q-factor and frequency) and paramagnetic susceptibility are derived and analyzed.  相似文献

A self-consistent particle model of an argon RF glow discharge has been developed. Electric field and charged-particle density profiles determined from simulations with the RF glow discharge model are consistent with results obtained from continuum models. The average ion energy is found to vary greatly between the bulk of the discharge and sheaths, contrary to the assumption that the ion energy is uniform, as is assumed in some continuum models. The accuracy of the particle cross sections and collision representation used in the model is verified with a simplified DC model which calculates swarm parameters. This paper describes a theoretical and experimental study of surface- and helicon-wave-heated plasma sources in which standing waves are set up in the cavity between the closed end plate to a plasma vessel and a wave launcher while travelling waves propagate from the opposite side of the launcher into a region which is long compared with the attenuation distance of the waves. We model the situation as a lossy transmission line of finite length coupled at the launcher to a lossy transmission line of infinite extent. RF power applied to the launcher divides in the ratio of the input impedances of the two transmission lines. For a conducting end plate, the power delivered to the travelling waves is a maximum when the cavity length is an odd number of 1/4 wavelengths long for which its input impedance is a maximum. Similarly, for an insulated end plate, the power delivered to the travelling waves is a maximum for a cavity with a length equal to an integer number of half wavelengths for which its input impedance is again a maximum.   相似文献

A closed-form, two-dimensional analytical solution is developed to investigate the acoustic performance of a concentric circular Helmholtz resonator lined with fibrous material. The effect of density and the thickness of the fibrous material in the cavity is examined on the resonance frequency and the transmission loss. With the expressions for the eigenvalue and eigenfunction in the cavity, the transmission loss is obtained for a piston-driven model by applying a pressure/velocity matching technique. The results from the analytical methods are compared to the numerical predictions from a three-dimensional boundary element method and the experimental data obtained from an impedance tube setup. It is shown that the acoustic performance of a Helmholtz resonator may be modified considerably by the density and thickness of the fibrous material without changing the cavity dimensions.  相似文献

 对折叠型平板Blumlein线的特征参数进行了理论分析,采用模拟软件对传输线中的电磁场分布和波的传播过程进行了计算。根据理论分析和计算结果设计并制作了耐压600 kV、延时40 ns、特征阻抗为5 Ω的折叠型平板Blumlein线,该Blumlein线以Kapton薄膜为介质、以铜板为导体,腔体尺寸为1.2 m×40 cm×40 cm,初步实验在水电阻匹配负载上得到幅值为400 kV、脉宽36 ns的电压波形和幅值为40 kA的电流波形。在同样体积下进一步设计制作了耐压600 kV、延时150 ns、特征阻抗为15 Ω的折叠Blumlein线,得到幅值为450 kV、脉宽150 ns的电压波形和幅值为18 kA的电流波形。  相似文献

为方便描述聚龙一号装置与Z箍缩负载的电磁耦合过程,基于大量电参数实验数据和全电路模拟分析,建立了一个简化的集总电路模型,获得了等效电压波形和等效电阻、电感等集总参量。采用水介质三板输出线出口位置的开路电压作为等效电压,进一步拟合为正弦平方函数,峰值为3.3 MV(当前驱动器充压为65 kV),零到峰值的时间长度为102.5ns。采用简化的流阻抗模型描述磁绝缘传输线内部空间电子流的电流损失效应。将电路程序与零维负载动力学程序耦合模拟,得到了与实验结果符合的负载电流波形,尤其电流波形的前沿和峰值符合较好,分析了电磁能转化为负载动能的过程。  相似文献

An electromagnetic centimeter-wave quasi-optical two-mirror open resonator is studied. The eigen-frequency spectrum of the resonator is determined and the Q factor is measured. Helmholtz resonators with sound absorption materials filling the neck may have an improved sound absorption capacity. In this work, parallel perforated ceramics with different perforation diameters were installed into the neck of a Helmholtz resonator to improve its acoustic impedance to simultaneously achieve a better acoustic absorption coefficient and a wider absorption bandwidth. An experimental system was built to investigate the effect of the perforation diameters on the sound absorption performance of the resonator. It is found that nonlinear effects near the resonance frequency affect the resonator?s neck mouth impedance and further its sound absorption performance significantly. For frequency range 50–500 Hz, a model of the neck mouth impedance is developed based on a revised Forchheimer relationship. The experimental results are in good agreement with the theoretical model.  相似文献

A theoretical model is derived by which the occurrence of the single and multiple emission line spectra of tunable microcrystal lasers is described. These spectra in general exhibit several emission lines, arising from the Stark-split atomic levels of the lasing ions in the crystal field. The model is based on the shift of the resonator frequencies due to the thermally induced shift of the optical resonator length and demonstrates that the coincidence of the resonator frequencies with the laser gain lines leads to the emission of single or multiple line spectra of microcrystal lasers. These spectra can be described by the model. The model is given as a set of criteria. In this way not only can predictions of the single emission-line tuning range be made but also resonator lengths can be optimized in order to obtain a maximum tuning range. Furthermore, Q-switched operation can be achieved for specific parameters by periodically shifting the resonator frequencies. The linewidth of the gain used in this model depends on the laser threshold and is folded with the thermal shift of the atomic transitions. Therefore the centre wavelength of the gain is assumed to be constant. The advantage is that this experimentally relevant linewidth can be measured easily with microcrystal lasers themselves, whereas spectroscopic data do not take laser threshold behaviour into account. It is shown that the results of the model are in good agreement with experimental data measured for two different Nd: YAG crystals. Simply by inserting other material and laser parameters, the model can easily be applied to other laser crystals and other wavelengths.  相似文献

In order to perform the studies on a pulsed beam generation system based on a high intensity cyclotron, a test beam line with a pulsed beam generation for a 10 MeV compact cyclotron (CYCIAE-10) has been designed and constructed at China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE). A 70 MHz continuous H-beam can be pulsed to the pulse length of less than 10 ns with a repetition rate of 4.4 MHz. The sine waveform with a frequency of 2.2 MHz is adopted for the chopper and a mesh structure with single drift and dual gaps is used for the 70 MHz buncher. A helical resonator is designed and constructed based on simulations and experiments on the RF matching for the chopper. A helical inductance loop that is exceptionally large of its kind and equipped with water cooling for the resonator has been successfully wound and a 500 W solid RF amplifier has been manufactured. A special measuring device has been designed, which can be used to measure both the DC beam and the pulsed beam. The required pulsed beam was obtained after pulsed beam tuning.  相似文献
