Motivated by mirror symmetry, we study certain integral representations of solutions to the Gel´fand-Kapranov-Zelevinsky (GKZ) hypergeometric system. Some of these solutions arise as period integrals for Calabi-Yau manifolds in mirror symmetry. We prove that for a suitable compactification of the parameter space, there exist certain special boundary points, which we called maximal degeneracy points, at which all solutions but one become singular.

This study describes how Robert used his external representations (formulae, notations, sketches, models, and figures) to solve progressively more challenging counting tasks over a 16-year period. In his explorations of counting tasks, Robert discovered intricate connections between solutions to problems that looked different on the surface. Using video data from Robert's problem solving, analyses of his solutions are presented that shed light on how he built new ideas from existing ideas and how he modified external representations to make new mathematical discoveries and provide justifications for his solutions.  相似文献

For the (n + 1)-dimensional sine- and sinh-Gordon equations, by using the approach of dynamical systems to a class of travelling wave solutions, in 21 different regions of a five-parameter space, all possible 21 bounded solutions ( solitary breather solutions, kink and anti-kink breather solutions and double-periodic wave solutions) are obtained. This paper is concerned with the class of linear partial differential equations of second order such that there exist Bergman operators with polynomial kernels (cf, [12]). In an earlier paper [ll] the authors have shown that these equations also admit differential operators as introduced by K. W. Bauer [I]. In the present paper, relations between different types of representations of solutions are investigated. These representations are of interest in developing a function theory of solutions; cf., for instance, K. W. Bauer [I] and S. Ruscheweyh [19]. They are also essential to global extensions of local results obtained by means of Bergman operators of the first kind. The inversion problem for those operators is solved, and it is shown that all solutions of equations of that class which are holomorphic in a domain of C2 can be represented by operators with polynomial kernels. Furthermore, a construction principle for deriving the equations investigated by K. W. Bauer [2] is obtained; this yields corresponding representations of solutions by differential and integral operators in a systematic fashion  相似文献

This paper is a survey on classical Heisenberg groups and algebras, q-deformed Heisenberg algebras, q-oscillator algebras, their representations and applications. Describing them, we tried, for the reader's convenience, to explain where the q-deformed case is close to the classical one, and where there are principal differences. Different realizations of classical Heisenberg groups, their geometrical aspects, and their representations are given. Moreover, relations of Heisenberg groups to other linear groups are described. Intertwining operators for different (Schrödinger, Fock, compact) realizations of unitary irreducible representations of Heisenberg groups are given in explicit form. Classification of irreducible representations and representations of the q-oscillator algebra is derived for the cases when q is not a root of unity and when q is a root of unity. The Fock representation of the q-oscillator algebra is studied in detail. In particular, q-coherent states are described. Spectral properties of some operators of the Fock representations of q-oscillator algebras are given. Some of applications of Heisenberg groups and algebras, q-Heisenberg algebras and q-oscillator algebras are briefly described.  相似文献

We introduce the notion of ‘maximal rank type’ forrepresentations of quivers, which requires certain collectionsof maps involved in the representation to be of maximal rank.We show that real root representations of quivers are of maximalrank type. By using the maximal rank type property and universalextension functors we construct all real root representationsof a particular wild quiver with three vertices. From this constructionit follows that real root representations of this quiver aretree modules. Moreover, formulae given by Ringel can be appliedto compute the dimension of the endomorphism ring of a givenreal root representation.  相似文献

The goal of the paper is to analyse properties of solutions for linear thermoelastic systems of type III in one space variable. Our approach does not use energy methods, it bases on a special diagonalization procedure which is different in different parts of the phase space. This procedure allows to derive explicit representations of solutions. These representations help to prove results for well‐posedness of the Cauchy problem, LPLq decay estimates on the conjugate line and results for propagation of singularities. The goal of the paper is to study structurally damped elastic waves in 2D. A suitable diagonalization procedure allows to derive WKB representations for solutions to the Cauchy problems. As consequences, we obtain results on energy decay with and without additional regularity for the data, Gevrey smoothing, and propagation of singularities for the visco‐elastic damped elastic wave model. The asymptotic root distribution is computed for systems of matrix functions associated with finite-dimensional holomorphic representations of a Lie group. This distribution can be expressed via the increments of the representations involved. If the group is reductive, then the number of equations in the system can be arbitrary, from 1 to the dimension of the group. In this case, the computation results are stated in the language of convex geometry. Using the method of planar dynamical systems to the mK(nn) equation, the existence of uncountably infinite many smooth and non-smooth periodic wave solutions, solitary wave solutions and kink and anti-kink wave solutions is proved. Under different parametric conditions, various sufficient conditions to guarantee the existence of the above solutions are given. A nonstandard finite difference scheme for the Airy equation leads to a linear, second—order difference equation for which the theorems of Poincaré and Perron do not apply if asymptotic representations of the solutions are desired. Using the method of dominant balance, a suggested form for the asymptotic solutions is obtained. We consider a shallow water wave model with a non-stationary bottom surface. By applying dynamical system approach to the model problem, we are able to obtain all possible bounded solutions (compactons, solitary wave solutions and periodic wave solutions) under different parameter conditions. This work is concerned with the behavior of solutions of a class of second-order nonlinear differential equations locally near infinity. Using methods of the fixed point theory, the existence of solutions with different asymptotic representations at infinity is established. In this paper, we consider the nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger equation with an anti-cubic nonlinearity. By using the method of dynamical systems, we obtain bifurcations of the phase portraits of the corresponding planar dynamical system under different parameter conditions. Corresponding to different level curves defined by the Hamiltonian, we derive all exact explicit parametric representations of the bounded solutions (including periodic peakon solutions, periodic solutions, homoclinic solutions, heteroclinic solutions and compacton solutions).  相似文献
