Reflection of solitary flexural waves propagating in a supersonic domain wall of yttrium orthoferrite from the domain wall part moving with the transverse-sound velocity is observed experimentally. This observation confirms that such a reflection of a solitary flexural wave leads to a change in the sign of the topological charge of the antiferromagnetic vortex accompanied by this wave, which proves a direct relationship between these two objects.  相似文献

Solitary flexural waves on a supersonic domain wall in yttrium orthoferrite are observed and investigated. These waves have a sharp leading edge and a protracted trailing edge, reminiscent of the waves accompanying moving vertical Bloch lines in iron garnet films. The total velocity of the solitary flexural waves in yttrium orthoferrites for all observed amplitudes equals the maximum velocity of the domain walls. Two solitary waves with identical amplitudes colliding head-on are annihilated. Solitary bending waves have been observed on domain boundaries of Néel type in wafers of yttrium orthoferrite, having a very sharp leading edge and an extended trailing edge and offset as a whole from the domain boundary and moving with high speeds close to the limiting velocity. Head-on collisions of two such waves of the same amplitude lead to their complete annihilation. Analogous collisions of two such waves, but of different amplitudes, lead to the appearance of a wave with the difference amplitude moving in the same direction as the wave of larger amplitude. The solitary bending waves investigated in this study appear to move under the action of gyroscopic forces acting on magnetic vortices on domain boundaries in yttrium orthoferrite, analogous to vertical Bloch lines with departure of the magnetization vector from the ac plane. From equality of the gyroscopic force with the friction force acting on the leading edge of the solitary bending wave we have estimated the amplitudes of these waves and the magnitudes of the topological charges of the magnetic vortices. The properties of the possible solitary electromagnetic waves, propagating in two-dimensional SIS Josephson junction without dissipative losses are investigated on the basis of the local theory of the junction. A classification of the waves in the junction with respect to the Swihart velocity is made. It is shown that allowed and forbidden areas for the wave numbers, wave frequency and wave amplitude exist. The cut-off frequency for the solitary waves which velocity is greater than the Swihart velocity can be smaller than the Josephson plasma frequency and moreover these waves can propagate only in a junction that is large in the direction perpendicular to the propagation direction. On the contrary the solitary waves which velocity is smaller than the Swihart velocity request junction size in the above direction to be smaller than a critical one. The investigated two-dimensional solitary waves can be connected with one or two quanta of the magnetic flux.  相似文献

以南中国海东北部海域底部缓坡地形为背景, 在大型重力式分层流水槽中模拟了下凹型内孤立波沿缓坡地形传播过程中的浅化、破碎、分裂等现象, 利用分层染色标识方法和多点组合探头阵列技术对内孤立波沿缓坡地形演化特征进行了定性分析和定量测量. 实验表明: 浅化效应使内孤立波传播速度减小, 对大振幅内孤立波具有抑制作用, 对小振幅波具有放大效应; 浅化效应可导致内孤立波的剪切失稳及破碎, 还可导致大振幅内孤立波的分裂. 利用Miles稳定性理论可定性描述内孤立波沿缓坡地形传播时发生不稳定状态的位置, 实验结果与理论分析相符合. 关键词: 分层流 缓坡地形 内孤立波 不稳定性  相似文献

A 2.5-dimensional method in frequency wave-number domain is developed to investigate the mode waves in a deviated borehole penetrating a transversely isotropic formation. The phase velocity dispersion characteristics of the fast and slow flexural mode waves excited by a dipole source are computed accurately at various deviation angles for both hard and soft formations. The sensitivities of the flexural mode waves to all elastic constants in a transversely isotropic formation are calculated. Numerical results show that, for a soft formation, the fast flexural mode wave is dominated by c66 at high deviation angles and low frequencies, while the slow flexural mode wave is dominated by c44 at the same conditions. Waveforms in time domain are also presented to support the conclusions.  相似文献

A one-dimensional dynamic Ginzburg-Landau theory of the martensitic phase transition in shape-memory alloys is established. The nonlinear equations of motion yield solitary wave solutions of kink and of soliton type. The kink solutions which cannot move without external force represent single domain walls either between austenite and martensite or between two martensite variants. The soliton solutions correspond to a matrix of austenite or of martensite containing a moving sheet of the other phase. The velocity of the solitons depends on their amplitude. In the static case they reduce to the critical nucleus. The energy of each type of solitary waves is calculated.  相似文献

When the concentration of negative ions is larger than a critical value, a small compressive pulse evolves into a subionic wave train and a large pulse develops into a solitary wave. The possibility of new weakly nonlinear solitary waves in nonlocal elastic media is demonstrated. The properties of these waves are determined by the characteristic features of wave dispersion in the linear approximation, and their velocity and amplitude cannot exceed certain limiting values. In the case of small amplitudes and velocities close to the velocity of sound, the profile of the waves under consideration coincides with the profile of the soliton described by the Korteweg-de Vries equation. When the amplitude and velocity of the aforementioned waves reach their limiting values, the wave profile sharpens. It is concluded that the propagation of such waves in rocks and soils is possible.  相似文献

The excitation and propagation of finite-amplitude low-frequency solitary waves are investigated in an argon plasma impregnated with kaolin dust particles. A nonlinear longitudinal dust acoustic solitary wave is excited by pulse modulating the discharge voltage with a negative potential. It is found that the velocity of the solitary wave increases and the width decreases with the increase of the modulating voltage, but the product of the solitary wave amplitude and the square of the width remains nearly constant. The experimental findings are compared with analytic soliton solutions of a model Korteveg-de Vries equation.  相似文献

Properties of nonlinear electrostatic solitary waves in a magnetized multicomponent system of plasma containing of warm fluid ions, weakly relativistic warm fluid electrons and q-nonextensive distributed electrons using reductive perturbation method, have been surveyed. For this purpose, a KdV soliton type solution has been employed. 利用有限变形理论,以无限长压电圆杆为研究对象,考虑了在横向惯性、等效泊松比效应以及在热电弹藕合共同作用下,基于Hamilton原理,并引入Euler方程推导出压电圆杆的纵向波动方程.采用Jacobi椭圆函数展开法,求解压电圆杆的波动方程和对应的解.最后,通过Matlab软件得到不同波速比下的色散曲线.以及温度场对压电圆杆的波形、波幅和波数的影响曲线.数值分析结果表明:随着温度的升高,波速逐渐降低,温度场的改变可影响和控制孤立波的传播特性.  相似文献

We numerically investigate the nonlinear waves propagating in a one-dimensional particle chain when the damping effect is taken into account. It is found that decaying solitary waves exist, in which the amplitude of the wave decreases exponentially as time increases. Meanwhile, the velocity of the solitary wave also slows down as time goes. This result implies that the damping coefficient is an important parameter in such a nonlinear system. Theoretical analysis has also been done by the reductive perturbation method. The result indicates that the nonlinear waves propagating in such a system can be described by the damped KdV equation.  相似文献

The stable generation of pairs of antiferromagnetic vortices at a domain wall moving at a velocity of 12 km/s is investigated at the instant it passes through a defect in a thin plate of yttrium orthoferrite. The velocities of a vortex and an antivortex moving in opposite directions along the domain wall and being accompanied by solitary flexural waves are ±16 km/s. The total velocity of antiferromagnetic vortices is close to the maximum velocity of the domain wall, 20 km/s. Such a high velocity can only be due to the action of a quite large gyroscopic force. An external dc magnetic field (±400 Oe) applied along the b axis of the orthoferrite affects this velocity insignificantly. The effective magnetic field that violates the Lorentz invariance of the dynamics considerably exceeds this value.  相似文献

The joint influence of the polariton effect and Kerr-like nonlinearity on the propagation of optical pulses is studied. The existence of different families of envelope solitary wave solutions in the vicinity of the polariton gap is shown. The properties of solutions depend strongly on the carrier wave frequency. In particular, solitary waves inside and outside the polariton gap exhibit different velocity and amplitude dependences on their duration.  相似文献

The random generation of coherent solitary waves from incoherent waves in a medium with an instantaneous nonlinearity has been observed. One excites a propagating incoherent spin wave packet in a magnetic film strip and observes the random appearance of solitary wave pulses. The transmission of flexural type waves through various discontinuities in the walls of cylindrical shells is investigated. Theoretical curves of transmission loss are obtained for different circumferential wavenumbers and wave types, as functions of frequency. Material stiffness and extensional phase speed, together with the relationship between radial vibration amplitude and total wave power of propagation, are important factors which are found to strongly influence wave transmission through discontinuities. Some practical results useful for predicting the performance of typical pipe isolators (in vacuo) are obtained.  相似文献

The approximate analytical solution of velocity is presented for incompressible and viscous fluid driven by the oscillation of the periodic pressure, between two slit parallel plates with corrugated walls by employing perturbation method. The corrugations of the two walls are described as periodic sinusoidal waves with small amplitude either in phase or half-period out of phase. Based on the analysis, we discuss the influence of the dimensionless parameters on velocity u± and mean velocity parameter φ± numerically, such as Reynolds number Re, nondimensional amplitude A of pressure gradient and wave number k.  相似文献

We perform measurements, numerical simulations, and quantitative comparisons with available theory on solitary wave propagation in a linear chain of beads without static preconstraint. By designing a nonintrusive force sensor to measure the impulse as it propagates along the chain, we study the solitary wave reflection at a wall. We show that the main features of solitary wave reflection depend on wall mechanical properties. Since previous studies on solitary waves have been performed at walls without these considerations, our experiment provides a more reliable tool to characterize solitary wave propagation. We find, for the first time, precise quantitative agreements.  相似文献
