The local maximum principle of weak solutions to the equation is established. By modifying a construction for Hadamard (Menon) difference sets we construct two infinite families of negative Latin square type partial difference sets in groups of the form where p is any odd prime. One of these families has the well-known Paley parameters, which had previously only been constructed in p-groups. This provides new constructions of Hadamard matrices and implies the existence of many new strongly regular graphs including some that are conference graphs. As a corollary, we are able to construct Paley–Hadamard difference sets of the Stanton-Sprott family in groups of the form when is a prime power. These are new parameters for such difference sets.   相似文献

We develop a cyclotomic analogue of the theory of associators. Using a trigonometric version of the universal KZ equations, we prove the formality of a morphism , where B n 1 is a braid group of type B. The formality isomorphism depends algebraically on a series ΨKZ, the “KZ pseudotwist”. We study the scheme of pseudotwists and show that it is a torsor under a group GTM(N, k), mapping to Drinfeld’s group GT(k), and whose Lie algebra is isomorphic to its associated graded (N, k). We prove that Ihara’s subgroup GTK of the Grothendieck–Teichmüller group, defined using distribution relations, in fact coincides with it. We show that the subscheme of pseudotwists satisfying distribution relations is a subtorsor. We study the corresponding analogue (N, k) of (N, k); it is a graded Lie algebra with an action of , and we give a lower bound for the character of its space of generators.   相似文献

We study different extended formulations for the set with in order to tackle the feasibility problem for the set Pursuing the work of Aardal, Lenstra et al. using the reformulation , our aim is to derive reformulations of the form with 0  ≤  sn − m where preferably all the coefficients of P are small compared to the coefficients of A and T. In such cases the new variables μ appear to be good branching directions, and in certain circumstances permit one to deduce rapidly that the instance is infeasible. We give a polynomial time algorithm for identifying such PT if possible, and for the case that A has one row a we analyze the reformulation when s = 1, that is, one μ-variable is introduced. In particular, we determine the integer width of the extended formulations in the direction of the μ-variable, and derive a lower bound on the Frobenius number of a. We conclude with some preliminary tests to see if the reformulations are effective when the number s of additional constraints and variables is limited. Here, Ω is a bounded domain in denotes the Dirichlet p-Laplacian on , and is a spectral parameter. Let μ1 denote the first (smallest) eigenvalue of −Δ p . Under some natural hypotheses on the perturbation function , we show that the trivial solution is a bifurcation point for problem (P) and, moreover, there are two distinct continua, and , consisting of nontrivial solutions to problem (P) which bifurcate from the set of trivial solutions at the bifurcation point (0, μ1). The continua and are either both unbounded in E, or else their intersection contains also a point other than (0, μ1). For the semilinear problem (P) (i.e., for p = 2) this is a classical result due to E. N. Dancer from 1974. We also provide an example of how the union looks like (for p > 2) in an interesting particular case. Our proofs are based on very precise, local asymptotic analysis for λ near μ1 (for any 1 < p < ∞) which is combined with standard topological degree arguments from global bifurcation theory used in Dancer’s original work.
