An interesting cyclization of N‐methyl‐3‐phenyl‐N‐(2‐(Z)‐phenylethenyl)‐cis‐oxiranecarboxamide

Under Lewis acid condition, N‐methyl‐3‐phenyl‐N‐(2‐(Z)‐phenylethenyl)‐cis‐oxiranecarboxamide undergoes elegant double cyclizations to give interesting products.     

Simple and efficient one‐pot synthesis of 3,4‐dihydro‐2‐pyridones via solid‐supported Bi(III)nitrate catalyzed double michael addition‐azaannulation

4‐Aryl‐5‐carboethoxy‐6‐methyl‐2,3‐dihydro‐2‐pyridones were obtained, in high yield, by heating ternary mixtures of appropriate aldehydes, ethylacetoacetate and compounds possessing NH₂‐C=X functionality, in presence of immobilized Bi(III)nitrate and co‐catalyst Zn(II)chloride, under solventless conditions. The reaction proceeds smoothly at 140±5°C and seems to involve double Michael addition‐azaannulation.     

Green and high efficient synthesis of triaza‐benzo[b]fluoren‐6‐one derivatives in water under microwave irradiation

Triaza‐benzo[b]fluoren‐6‐one derivatives were synthesized via the three‐component reaction of aldehyde, cyclohexane‐1,3‐dione compound and 2‐aminobenzimidazole in water under microwave irradiation. The new protocol has the advantages of excellent yield, low cost, reduced environment impact, wide scope and convenient procedure.     

Synthesis and reactions of n‐methyl‐4‐(methylthio)thieno[2,3‐d]‐pyrimidinium salts

Two methods for the preparation of N‐methyl‐4‐(methylthio)thieno[2,3‐d]pyrimidinium salts 6a,b and 13a,b are described. Treatment of 6a,b and/or 13a,b with active methylene compounds such as malononitrile and ethyl cyanoacetate in the presence of sodium methoxide caused nucleophilic addition followed by elimination of methanethiol, giving the corresponding N‐methyl‐4‐ylidenethieno[2,3‐d]‐pyrimidines 7a,b, 8a,b, 14a,b and 15a,b .     

Chemo,stereo, and regioselective addition of α‐(2‐methoxyaryl)‐N‐aryl nitrones to diarylidineacetone: Synthesis of novel isoxazolidines

A new set of 2,3,4,5‐tetrasubstituted isoxazolidines with an α,β‐unsaturated carbonyl function at position 4 has been synthesized. The multicomponent approach and microwave irradiation protocol have also been investigated for the above synthesis.     

Synthesis of alicyclic N‐substituted 1,3‐amino alcohols via 1,3‐oxazines

Alicyclic N‐substituted 1,3‐amino alcohols 13‐18 were prepared in a facile way in a one‐pot procedure from 1,3‐oxazines 5‐8 in the presence of a ketone 9‐12 . The complex reaction involves palladium‐catalyzed reduction, debenzylation and/or transimination and further reduction.     

Synthesis of substituted amino‐cycloalkyl[b]thieno‐[3,2‐e]pyridines

An efficient two respectively three steps procedure for the synthesis of cycloalkyl[b]thieno[3,2‐e]‐pyridine amines was developed and in general good to very good yields were obtained.     

An efficient and clean one‐pot synthesis of 3,4‐dihydropyrimidine‐2(1H)‐ones catalyzed by tungstate sulfuric acid in solvent‐free conditions

Tungstate sulfuric acid catalyzes the three component condensation reaction of an aromatic aldehyde, urea and a β‐ketoester under solvent‐free conditions to afford the corresponding dihydropyrimidinones in high to excellent yields at room temperature.
