Let V be a linear space over a field F with finite dimension, L(V) the semigroup, under composition, of all linear transformations from V into itself. Suppose that V = V1 V2 ... Vm is a direct sum decomposition of V, where V1,V2,..., Vm are subspaces of V with the same dimension. A linear transformation f ∈ L(V) is said to be sum-preserving, if for each i (1 ≤ i ≤ m), there exists some j (1 ≤ j ≤ m) such that f(Vi) Vj. It is easy to verify that all sum-preserving linear transformations form a subsemigroup of L(V) which is denoted by L (V). In this paper, we first describe Green's relations on the semigroup L (V). Then we consider the regularity of elements and give a condition for an element in L (V) to be regular. Finally, Green's equivalences for regular elements are also characterized.  相似文献

This is the second paper in a series devoted to Green's and Dirichlet spaces. In the first paper, we have investigated Green's space K and the Dirichlet space H associated with a symmetric Markov transition function pt(x, B). Now we assume that p is a transition function of a fine Markov process X and we prove that: (a) the space H can be built from functions which are right continuous along almost all paths; (b) the positive cone K+ in K can be identified with a cone M of measures on the state space; (c) the positive cone H+ in H can be interpreted as the cone of Green's potentials of measures μ?M. To every measurable set B in the state space E there correspond a subspace K(B) of K and a subspace H(B) of H. The orthogonal projections of K onto K and of H onto H(B) can be expressed in terms of the hitting probabilities of B by the Markov process X. Let E be an equivalence on X. Define a subsemigroup $$T_E(X,Y)$$ of T(X, Y) by $$\begin{aligned} T_E(X,Y)=\{\alpha \in T(X,Y):\forall (x,y)\in E, (x\alpha ,y\alpha )\in E\}. \end{aligned}$$Then $$T_E(X,Y)$$ is the semigroup of all continuous self-maps of the topological space X for which all E-classes form a basis carrying X into a subspace Y. In this paper, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for $$T_E(X,Y)$$ to be regular and characterize Green’s relations on $$T_E(X,Y)$$. Let $\mathbb {N}^\mathbb {N}Let $\mathbb {N}^\mathbb {N}$ be the semigroup of all mappings on the natural numbers $\mathbb {N}$, and let U and V be subsets of $\mathbb {N}^\mathbb {N}$. We write U?V if there exists a countable subset C of $\mathbb {N}^\mathbb {N}$ such that U is contained in the subsemigroup generated by V and C. We give several results about the structure of the preorder ?. In particular, we show that a certain statement about this preorder is equivalent to the Continuum Hypothesis. The preorder ? is analogous to one introduced by Bergman and Shelah on subgroups of the symmetric group on $\mathbb {N}$. The results in this paper suggest that the preorder on subsemigroups of $\mathbb {N}^\mathbb {N}$ is much more complicated than that on subgroups of the symmetric group.  相似文献
