In this note, we study linear systems on complete toric varieties X with an invariant point whose orbit under the action of Aut(X) contains the dense torus T of X. We give a characterization of such varieties in terms of its defining fan and introduce a new definition of expected dimension of linear systems which consider the contribution given by certain toric subvarieties. Finally, we study degenerations of linear systems on these toric varieties induced by toric degenerations.  相似文献

Let D be an integer matrix. A toric set, namely the points in Kn parametrized by the columns of D, and a toric variety are associated to D. The toric set is a subset of the toric variety. We describe the relation between the toric set and the toric variety, in terms of the orbits of the torus action on the toric variety. The toric set depends on the sign (+,−,0) pattern of the matrix D. Finally, we prove that any toric variety over an algebraically closed field can be expressed as a toric set, for an appropriate matrix.  相似文献

We prove that any affine, resp. polarized projective, spherical variety admits a flat degeneration to an affine, resp. polarized projective, toric variety. Motivated by mirror symmetry, we give conditions for the limit toric variety to be a Gorenstein Fano, and provide many examples. We also provide an explanation for the limits as boundary points of the moduli space of stable pairs whose existence is predicted by the Minimal Model Program.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate whether the 124 nonsingular toric Fano 4-folds admit totally nondegenerate embeddings from abelian surfaces or not. In this note we apply the techniques of the toric systems introduced by Hille–Perling to several problems on smooth projective surfaces: We showed that the existence of full exceptional collection of line bundles implies the rationality for small Picard rank surfaces; we proved equivalences of several notions of cyclic strong exceptional collection of line bundles; we also proposed a partial solution to a conjecture on exceptional sheaves on weak del Pezzo surfaces.  相似文献

We systematically develop Bridgeland's [7] and Bridgeland–Maciocia's [10] techniques for studying elliptic fibrations, and identify criteria that ensure 2-term complexes are mapped to torsion-free sheaves under a Fourier–Mukai transform. As an application, we construct an open immersion from a moduli of stable complexes to a moduli of Gieseker stable sheaves on elliptic threefolds. As another application, we give various 1–1 correspondences between fibrewise semistable torsion-free sheaves and codimension-1 sheaves on Weierstrass surfaces.  相似文献

Consider an arbitrary automorphism of an Enriques surface with its lift to the covering K3 surface. We prove a bound of the order of the lift acting on the anti‐invariant cohomology sublattice of the Enriques involution. We use it to obtain some mod 2 constraint on the original automorphism. As an application, we give a necessary condition for Salem numbers to be dynamical degrees on Enriques surfaces and obtain a new lower bound on the minimal value. In the Appendix, we give a complete list of Salem numbers that potentially could be the minimal dynamical degree on Enriques surfaces and for which the existence of geometric automorphisms is unknown.  相似文献

We study families of polynomial dynamical systems inspired by biochemical reaction networks. We focus on complex balanced mass-action systems, which have also been called toric. They are known or conjectured to enjoy very strong dynamical properties, such as existence and uniqueness of positive steady states, local and global stability, persistence, and permanence. We consider the class of disguised toric dynamical systems, which contains toric dynamical systems, and to which all dynamical properties mentioned above extend naturally. By means of (real) algebraic geometry we show that some reaction networks have an empty toric locus or a toric locus of Lebesgue measure zero in parameter space, while their disguised toric locus is of positive measure. We also propose some algorithms one can use to detect the disguised toric locus.  相似文献

We establish the equality of classical and tropical curve counts for elliptic curves on toric surfaces with fixed j-invariant, refining results of Mikhalkin and Nishinou–Siebert. As an application, we determine a formula for such counts on P2 and all Hirzebruch surfaces. This formula relates the count of elliptic curves with the number of rational curves on the surface satisfying a small number of tangency conditions with the toric boundary. Furthermore, the combinatorial tropical multiplicities of Kerber and Markwig for counts in P2 are derived and explained algebro-geometrically, using Berkovich geometry and logarithmic Gromov–Witten theory. As a consequence, a new proof of Pandharipande’s formula for counts of elliptic curves in P2 with fixed j-invariant is obtained.  相似文献

We give new weighted decompositions for simple polytopes, generalizing previous results of Lawrence-Varchenko and Brianchon-Gram. We start with Witten's non-abelian localization principle in equivariant cohomology for the norm-square of the moment map in the context of toric varieties to obtain a decomposition for Delzant polytopes. Then, by a purely combinatorial argument, we show that this formula holds for any simple polytope. As an application, we study Euler-Maclaurin formulas.  相似文献

We prove tight lower bounds for the coefficients of the toric h-vector of an arbitrary centrally symmetric polytope generalizing previous results due to R. Stanley and the author using toric varieties. Our proof here is based on the theory of combinatorial intersection cohomology for normal fans of polytopes developed by G. Barthel, J.-P. Brasselet, K. Fieseler and L. Kaup, and independently by P. Bressler and V. Lunts. This theory is also valid for nonrational polytopes when there is no standard correspondence with toric varieties. For each dimension d, d-dimensional integral simplices with exactly one interior integral point have bounded volume. This was first shown by Hensley. Explicit volume bounds were determined by Hensley, Lagarias and Ziegler, Pikhurko, and Averkov. In this paper we determine the exact upper volume bound for such simplices and characterize the volume-maximizing simplices. We also determine the sharp upper bound on the coefficient of asymmetry of an integral polytope with a single interior integral point. This result confirms a conjecture of Hensley from 1983. Moreover, for an integral simplex with precisely one interior integral point, we give bounds on the volumes of its faces, the barycentric coordinates of the interior integral point and its number of integral points. Furthermore, we prove a bound on the lattice diameter of integral polytopes with a fixed number of interior integral points. The presented results have applications in toric geometry and in integer optimization.  相似文献

We study the generalized hypergeometric system introduced by Gelfand, Kapranov and Zelevinsky and its relationship with the toric Deligne-Mumford (DM) stacks recently studied by Borisov, Chen and Smith. We construct series solutions with values in a combinatorial version of the Chen-Ruan (orbifold) cohomology and in the K-theory of the associated DM stacks. In the spirit of the homological mirror symmetry conjecture of Kontsevich, we show that the K-theory action of the Fourier-Mukai functors associated to basic toric birational maps of DM stacks are mirrored by analytic continuation transformations of Mellin-Barnes type.  相似文献

In the case of two-dimensional cyclic quotient singularities, we classify all one-parameter toric deformations in terms of certain Minkowski decompositions introduced by Altmann [Minkowski sums and homogeneous deformations of toric varieties, Tohoku Math. J. (2) 47 (2) (1995) 151-184.]. In particular, we show how to induce each deformation from a versal family, describe exactly to which reduced versal base space components each such deformation maps, describe the singularities in the general fibers, and construct the corresponding partial simultaneous resolutions.  相似文献

In this paper we give a geometric characterization of the cones of toric varieties that are complete intersections. In particular, we prove that the class of complete intersection cones is the smallest class of cones which is closed under direct sum and contains all simplex cones. Further, we show that the number of the extreme rays of such a cone, which is less than or equal to 2n − 2, is exactly 2n − 2 if and only if the cone is a bipyramidal cone, where n > 1 is the dimension of the cone.
