In this paper, we construct some unirational Calabi–Yau threefolds in characteristic 3. We adopt the method by Schoen, but we use quasi-elliptic surfaces instead of elliptic surfaces. We find new examples which do not admit a lifting to characteristic zero.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the periodic diffeomorphisms on homotopy E(4) surfaces. Under some conditions, we prove the non-existence of periodic diffeomorphisms of odd prime order that act trivially on the cohomology of elliptic surfaces E(4). We use Matsui and Takeuchi's formula for toric A-discriminants to give algorithms for computing local Euler obstructions and dual degrees of toric surfaces and 3-folds. In particular, we consider weighted projective spaces. As an application we give counterexamples to a conjecture by Matsui and Takeuchi. As another application we recover the well-known fact that the only defective normal toric surfaces are cones.  相似文献

The intersection curve between two surfaces in three-dimensional real projective space RP3 is important in the study of computer graphics and solid modelling. However, much of the past work has been directed towards the intersection of two quadric surfaces. In this paper we study the intersection curve between a quadric and a cubic surface and its projection onto the plane at infinity. Formulas for the plane and space curves are given for the intersection of a quadric and a cubic surface. A family of cubic surfaces that give the same space curve when we intersect them with a quadric surface is found. By generalizing the methods in Wang et al. (2002) [6] that are used to parametrize the space curve between two quadric surfaces, we give a parametrization for the intersection curve between a quadric and a cubic surface when the intersection has a singularity of order 3.  相似文献

The author gives a characterization of counterexamples to the Kodaira-Ramanujam vanishing theorem on smooth projective surfaces in positive characteristic. More precisely, it is reproved that if there is a counterexample to the Kodaira-Ramanujam vanishing theorem on a smooth projective surface X in positive characteristic, then X is either a quasi-elliptic surface of Kodaira dimension 1 or a surface of general type. Furthermore, it is proved that up to blow-ups, X admits a fibration to a smooth projective curve, such that each fiber is a singular curve.  相似文献

We give restrictions on the existence of families of curves on smooth projective surfaces S of nonnegative Kodaira dimension all having constant geometric genus pg ? 2 and hyperelliptic normalizations. In particular, we prove a Reider-like result that relies on deformation theory and bending-and-breaking of rational curves in Sym2(S). We also give examples of families of such curves.  相似文献

For any 3-manifold M3 and any nonnegative integer g, we give here examples of metrics on M each of which has a sequence of embedded minimal surfaces of genus g and without Morse index bounds. On any spherical space form we construct such a metric with positive scalar curvature. More generally, we construct such a metric with Scal>0 (and such surfaces) on any 3-manifold which carries a metric with Scal>0.  相似文献

We present a study of n-colored rooted maps in orientable and locally orientable surfaces. As far as we know, no work on these maps has yet been published. We give a system of n functional equations satisfied by n-colored orientable rooted maps regardless of genus and with respect to edges and vertices. We exhibit the solution of this system as a vector where each component has a continued fraction form and we deduce a new equation generalizing the Dyck equation for rooted planar trees. Similar results are shown for n-colored rooted maps in locally orientable surfaces.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to solve the Cauchy problem for locally strongly convex surfaces which are extremal for the equiaffine area functional. These surfaces are called affine maximal surfaces and here, we give a new complex representation which let us describe the solution to the corresponding Cauchy problem. As applications, we obtain a generalized symmetry principle, characterize when a curve in R3 can be a geodesic or pre-geodesic of a such surface and study the helicoidal affine maximal surfaces. Finally, we investigate the existence and uniqueness of affine maximal surfaces with a given analytic curve in its singular set.  相似文献

A k-orbit map is a map with k flag-orbits under the action of its automorphism group. We give a basic theory of k-orbit maps and classify them up to k?4. “Hurwitz-like” upper bounds for the cardinality of the automorphism groups of 2-orbit and 3-orbit maps on surfaces are given. Furthermore, we consider effects of operations like medial and truncation on k-orbit maps and use them in classifying 2-orbit and 3-orbit maps on surfaces of small genus.  相似文献

We give a recursive formula for purely real Welschinger invariants of real Del Pezzo surfaces of degree K 2 ≥ 3, where in the case of surfaces of degree 3 with two real components we introduce a certain modification of Welschinger invariants and enumerate exclusively the curves traced on the non-orientable component. As an application, we prove the positivity of the invariants under consideration and their logarithmic asymptotic equivalence, as well as congruence modulo 4, to genus zero Gromov–Witten invariants.  相似文献

It has long been conjectured that a closed convex surface of class C+2 whose principal curvatures K1, K2 satisfy the inequality (K1c)(K2c)≤0 with some constant c, must be a sphere. Partial results have been obtained by A.D. Aleksandrov, H.F. Münzner and D. Koutroufiotis.We reformulate the conjecture in terms of hedgehogs and we give a counter-example. Besides, we prove the conjecture for surfaces of constant width and give a new proof for analytic surfaces.  相似文献

In this paper, we discuss the developable surface which contains a given 3D Bézier curve as geodesic and prove the corresponding conclusions in detail. We give several new constructions for moderate rank elliptic curves over Q(T). In particular we construct infinitely many rational elliptic surfaces (not in Weierstrass form) of rank 6 over Q using polynomials of degree two in T. While our method generates linearly independent points, we are able to show the rank is exactly 6 without having to verify the points are independent. The method generalizes; however, the higher rank surfaces are not rational, and we need to check that the constructed points are linearly independent.  相似文献

In the theory of complex multiplication, it is important to construct class fields over CM fields. In this paper, we consider explicit K3 surfaces parametrized by Klein’s icosahedral invariants. Via the periods and the Shioda–Inose structures of K3 surfaces, the special values of icosahedral invariants generate class fields over quartic CM fields. Moreover, we give an explicit expression of the canonical model of the Shimura variety for the simplest case via the periods of K3 surfaces.  相似文献

We give an infinite dimensional generalized Weierstrass representation for spacelike constant mean curvature (CMC) surfaces in Minkowski 3-space R2,1. The formulation is analogous to that given by Dorfmeister, Pedit and Wu for CMC surfaces in Euclidean space, replacing the group SU2 with SU1,1. The non-compactness of the latter group, however, means that the Iwasawa decomposition of the loop group, used to construct the surfaces, is not global. We prove that it is defined on an open dense subset, after doubling the size of the real form SU1,1, and prove several results concerning the behavior of the surface as the boundary of this open set is encountered. We then use the generalized Weierstrass representation to create and classify new examples of spacelike CMC surfaces in R2,1. In particular, we classify surfaces of revolution and surfaces with screw motion symmetry, as well as studying another class of surfaces for which the metric is rotationally invariant.  相似文献
