We study a simplified system which retains most of the interesting mathematical properties of the original Ericksen-Leslie equations for the flow of liquid crystals. This is a coupled nonparabolic dissipative dynamic system. We derive several energy laws which enable us to prove the global existence of the weak solutions and the classical solutions. We apply operator methods to the investigation of an initial boundary-value problem which describes the perturbed motion of a body with cavity partially filled with an ideal liquid relative to the uniform rotation of this system about a fixed axis. In this paper, we study a new class of periodic nonautonomous differential equations with periodic noninstantaneous impulsive effects. A concept of noninstantaneous impulsive Cauchy matrix is introduced, and some basic properties are considered. We give the representation of solutions to the homogeneous problem and nonhomogeneous problem by using noninstantaneous impulsive Cauchy matrix, and the variation of constants method, adjoint systems, and periodicity of solutions is verified under standard periodicity conditions. Further, we show the existence and uniqueness of solutions of semilinear problem and establish existence result for periodic solutions via Brouwer fixed point theorem and uniqueness and global asymptotic stability via Banach fixed point theorem.  相似文献

In this article, we study the existence and uniqueness of solution for a coupled system of nonlinear implicit fractional anti‐periodic boundary value problem. Further, we investigate different kinds of stability such as Ulam‐Hyers stability, generalized Ulam‐Hyers stability, Ulam‐Hyers‐Rassias stability, and generalized Ulam‐Hyers‐Rassias stability. We are concerned with the problem of determining the damping boundary coefficient appearing in a dissipative wave equation from a single boundary measurement. We prove that uniqueness holds at the origin provided that the initial condition is appropriately chosen. We show that the choice of the initial condition leading to uniqueness is related to a fine version of the unique continuation property for elliptic operators. We also establish a Lipschitz directional stability estimate at the origin, which is obtained by a linearization process.  相似文献

We study existence and stability of stationary solutions of a system of semilinear parabolic partial differential equations that occurs in population genetics. It describes the evolution of gamete frequencies in a geographically structured population of migrating individuals in a bounded habitat. Fitness of individuals is determined additively by two recombining, diallelic genetic loci that are subject to spatially varying selection. Migration is modeled by diffusion. Of most interest are spatially non-constant stationary solutions, so-called clines. In a two-locus cline all four gametes are present in the population, i.e., it is an internal stationary solution. We provide conditions for existence and linear stability of a two-locus cline if recombination is either sufficiently weak or sufficiently strong relative to selection and diffusion. For strong recombination, we also prove uniqueness and global asymptotic stability. For arbitrary recombination, we determine the stability properties of the monomorphic equilibria, which represent fixation of a single gamete.  相似文献

In this paper we study existence, uniqueness, and stability of nonlinear evolution equations. We develop a new type of perturbation result for a C0 semigroup in Banach space, where the nonlinear operators are not necessarily m-accretive or everywhere defined. Assuming that the semigroup has a smoothing property we obtain local existence, uniqueness and regularity results. We then establish a Liapunov theory which enables us to examine stability. We propose an abstract approach to prove local uniqueness and conditional Hölder stability to non-linear inverse problems by linearization. The main condition is that, in addition to the injectivity of the linearization A, we need a stability estimate for A as well. That condition is satisfied in particular, if AA is an elliptic pseudo-differential operator. We apply this scheme to show uniqueness and Hölder stability for the inverse backscattering problem for the acoustic equation near a constant sound speed.  相似文献

Global robust convergence properties of continuous-time neural networks with discrete delays are studied. By using a Lyapunov functional, we derive a delay independent stability condition for the existence uniqueness and global robust asymptotic stability of the equilibrium point. We study the rate of decay of correlations for equilibrium states associated to a robust class of non-uniformly expanding maps where no Markov assumption is required. We show that the Ruelle–Perron–Frobenius operator acting on the space of Hölder continuous observables has a spectral gap and deduce the exponential decay of correlations and the central limit theorem. In particular, we obtain an alternative proof for the existence and uniqueness of the equilibrium states and we prove that the topological pressure varies continuously. Finally, we use the spectral properties of the transfer operators in space of differentiable observables to obtain strong stability results under deterministic and random perturbations.  相似文献

We consider the three dimensional gravitational Vlasov–Poisson (GVP) system in both classical and relativistic cases. The classical problem is subcritical in the natural energy space and the stability of a large class of ground states has been derived by various authors. The relativistic problem is critical and displays finite time blow up solutions. Using standard concentration compactness techniques, we however show that the breaking of the scaling symmetry allows the existence of stable relativistic ground states. A new feature in our analysis which applies both to the classical and relativistic problem is that the orbital stability of the ground states does not rely as usual on an argument of uniqueness of suitable minimizers—which is mostly unknown—but on strong rigidity properties of the transport flow, and this extends the class of minimizers for which orbital stability is now proved.  相似文献

This article explores the relationship between uniqueness and stability in differentiable regular games, with a major focus on the important classes of sum-aggregative, two-player and symmetric games. We consider three types of popular dynamics, continuous-time gradient dynamics as well as continuous- and discrete-time best-reply dynamics, and include aggregate-taking behavior as a non-strategic behavioral variant. We show that while in general games stability conditions are only sufficient for uniqueness, they are likely to be necessary as well in models with sum-aggregative or symmetric payoff functions. In particular, a unique equilibrium always verifies the stability conditions of all dynamics if strategies are equilibrium complements, and this also holds for both continuous-time dynamics if strategies are equilibrium substitutes with bounded slopes. These findings extend to the case of aggregate-taking equilibria. We further analyze the stability relations between the various dynamics, and demonstrate that the restrictive nature of the discrete dynamics originates from simultaneity of adjustments. Asynchronous decisions or heterogeneous forward thinking may stabilize the adjustment process.  相似文献
