Using two typical types of polarization controller, this paper
analyses theoretically and experimentally the fact that it is
necessary to adjust at least three instead of two waveplates in
order to transform any state of polarization to any other output
covering the entire Poincar\'{e} sphere. The experimental results
are exactly in accordance with the theory discussed in this paper.
It has corrected the conventional and inaccurate point of view that
two waveplates of a polarization controller are adequate to complete

空间平均型退偏要求退偏后的光束不仅具有低偏振度,还要求避免偏振态的空间带状连续分布.为了实现光束偏振度的测量和空间退偏度的观察,提出基于洛匈棱镜的偏振度测量方法,理论推导了偏振度和各个光功率测量值之间的关系,设计了实验装置,并与全偏振度测量方法进行对比.结果显示:两种测量方法得到的偏振度相对偏差为0.192%,但洛匈棱镜能将o光和e光在空间分离,能对光束偏振态的空间分布进行观测.基于洛匈棱镜的偏振度观测方法结构简单,操作方便,在偏振度和偏振态的空间分布的同时观测中有重要应用. 相似文献

提出了一种采用基于视场补偿型Savart偏光镜的新型偏振干涉成像光谱仪对二维目标偏振信息进行空间遥感探测的新原理和新方法.在新型偏振干涉成像光谱仪光学系统不变的情况下,通过旋转偏振干涉仪分别测出了三个不同角度下像面上各像点的光强值,反演出了二维面目标的斯托克斯矢量,并给出了各像点偏振度和偏振方向的理论表达式.采用计算机模拟实验对该探测原理和方法进行了验证,所得结果与理论完全符合.从理论和实践上扩展了干涉成像光谱仪的探测功能,与目前国内外所研究的成像光谱仪相比,该成像光谱仪既能同时探测目标二维空间信息和一维光谱信息,又提供了一种获得目标偏振信息的手段和方法. 相似文献

A novel dual polarization differential quadrature phase shift keying (DP-DQPSK) system is proposed, whose receiver is the same as the single polarization DQPSK system, while it does not need polarization de-multiplexing like the conventional polarization division multiplexing QPSK (PDM-QPSK). Polarization mode dispersion (PMD) is mainly considered and PMD compensation for the DP-DQPSK system is studied. As the feedback signal for PMD compensation, the degree of polarization of the signals is discussed in detail. The results show that PMD tolerance can be improved by 89 ps within 1 dB optical signal noise ratio penalty after PMD compensation for the DP-DQPSK system. 相似文献

对40Gb/s光纤通信中归零码和非归零码光脉冲的偏振度随二阶偏振模色散的变化规律进行了数值模拟,结果表明由于二阶偏振模色散的影响,偏振度的变化趋势呈现出震荡性,二阶偏振模色散对归零码的偏振度要比非归零码的偏振度影响明显;同时搭建了偏振模色散补偿系统,对系统进行数值模拟和实验所得到的结果都表明,以偏振度作为反馈信号,采用粒子群优化算法作搜索算法能够有效地对归零码和非归零码系统的一阶及高阶偏振模色散进行自适应补偿。 相似文献

偏振模色散已成为当前发展高速长距离光纤传输系统的主要限制因素。理论上分析了光纤一阶偏振膜色散效应对高速伪随机非归零码/归零码光信号偏振度的影响,并利用数值模拟的方法分析了信号不同输入偏振态以及高阶偏振膜色散效应对非归零码光信号偏振度的影响。最后对利用信号偏振度作为反馈控制信号的自适应偏振膜色散补偿系统的补偿性能进行了分析,大量统计分析结果表明对于10Gbit/s的非归零码光纤传输系统,当传输线路的平均偏振膜色散值小于43ps时,利用极大化输出信号偏振度的偏振膜色散补偿系统对信号眼图的补偿概率可以达到99.99%. 相似文献
