The pseudostress approximation of the Stokes equations rewrites the stationary Stokes equations with pure (but possibly inhomogeneous) Dirichlet boundary conditions as another (equivalent) mixed scheme based on a stress in H(div) and the velocity in L2. Any standard mixed finite element function space can be utilized for this mixed formulation, e.g., the Raviart‐Thomas discretization which is related to the Crouzeix‐Raviart nonconforming finite element scheme in the lowest‐order case. The effective and guaranteed a posteriori error control for this nonconforming velocity‐oriented discretization can be generalized to the error control of some piecewise quadratic velocity approximation that is related to the discrete pseudostress. The analysis allows for local inf‐sup constants which can be chosen in a global partition to improve the estimation. Numerical examples provide strong evidence for an effective and guaranteed error control with very small overestimation factors even for domains with large anisotropy.© 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this paper,a general method to derive asymptotic error expansion formulas for the mixed finite element approximations of the Maxwell eigenvalue problem is established.Abstract lemmas for the error of the eigenvalue approximations are obtained.Based on the asymptotic error expansion formulas,the Richardson extrapolation method is employed to improve the accuracy of the approximations for the eigenvalues of the Maxwell system from θ(h2) to θ(h4) when applying the lowest order Nédé1ec mixed finite element and a nonconforming mixed finite element.To our best knowledge,this is the first superconvergence result of the Maxwell eigenvalue problem by the extrapolation of the mixed finite element approximation.Numerical experiments are provided to demonstrate the theoretical results.  相似文献

In this article, a new stable nonconforming mixed finite element scheme is proposed for the stationary Navier-Stokes equations, in which a new low order CrouzeixRaviart type nonconforming rectangular element is taken for approximating space for the velocity and the piecewise constant element for the pressure. The optimal order error estimates for the approximation of both the velocity and the pressure in L2-norm are established, as well as one in broken H1-norm for the velocity. Numerical experiments are given which are consistent with our theoretical analysis.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to a new error analysis of nonconforming finite element methods.Compared with the classic error analysis in literature,only weak continuity,the F-E-M-Test for nonconforming finite element spaces,and basic Hm regularity for exact solutions of 2m-th order elliptic problems under consideration are assumed.The analysis is motivated by ideas from a posteriori error estimates and projection average operators.One main ingredient is a novel decomposition for some key average terms on(n.1)-dimensional faces by introducing a piecewise constant projection,which defines the generalization to more general nonconforming finite elements of the results in literature.The analysis and results herein are conjectured to apply for all nonconforming finite elements in literature.  相似文献

In this article, we study the explicit expressions of the constants in the error estimate of the nonconforming finite element method. We explicitly obtain the approximation error estimate and the consistency error estimate for the Wilson's element without the regular assumption, respectively, which implies the final finite element error estimate. The main goal of this paper is to present recovery type a posteriori error estimators and superconvergence for the nonconforming finite element eigenvalue approximation of self-adjoint elliptic equations by projection methods. Based on the superconvergence results of nonconforming finite element for the eigenfunction we derive superconvergence and recovery type a posteriori error estimates of the eigenvalue. The results are based on some regularity assumption for the elliptic problem and are applicable to the lowest order nonconforming finite element approximations of self-adjoint elliptic eigenvalue problems with quasi-regular partitions. Therefore, the results of this paper can be employed to provide useful a posteriori error estimators in practical computing under unstructured meshes.  相似文献

In a recent work, Hiptmair [Mathematisches Institut, M9404, 1994] has constructed and analyzed a family of nonconforming mixed finite elements for second-order elliptic problems. However, his analysis does not work on the lowest order elements. In this article, we show that it is possible to construct a nonconforming mixed finite element for the lowest order case. We prove the convergence and give estimates of optimal order for this finite element. Our proof is based on the use of the properties of the so-called nonconforming bubble function to control the consistency terms introduced by the nonconforming approximation. We further establish an equivalence between this mixed finite element and the nonconforming piecewise quadratic finite element of Fortin and Soulie [J. Numer. This paper introduces a new family of nonconforming mixed finite elements for solving the linear elasticity equations on simplicial grids. Besides, this paper describes the construction of the lowest order basis functions. The construction only involves simple computations due to the new explicit stress shape function spaces and the procedure applies for high order cases. Numerical experiments for four benchmark problems in mechanics indicate the robust locking‐free behavior and show that the lowest order nonconforming mixed method leads to smaller stress errors than the first and second order standard Galerkin methods for the nearly incompressible case.  相似文献

We derive computable a posteriori error estimates for the lowest order nonconforming Crouzeix-Raviart element applied to the approximation of incompressible Stokes flow. The estimator provides an explicit upper bound that is free of any unknown constants, provided that a reasonable lower bound for the inf-sup constant of the underlying problem is available. In addition, it is shown that the estimator provides an equivalent lower bound on the error up to a generic constant.

Averaging techniques are popular tools in adaptive finite element methods for the numerical treatment of second order partial differential equations since they provide efficient a posteriori error estimates by a simple postprocessing. In this paper, their reliablility is shown for conforming, nonconforming, and mixed low order finite element methods in a model situation: the Laplace equation with mixed boundary conditions. Emphasis is on possibly unstructured grids, nonsmoothness of exact solutions, and a wide class of averaging techniques. Theoretical and numerical evidence supports that the reliability is up to the smoothness of given right-hand sides.

We investigate the relationship between finite volume and finite element approximations for the lower‐order elements, both conforming and nonconforming for the Stokes equations. These elements include conforming, linear velocity‐constant pressure on triangles, conforming bilinear velocity‐constant pressure on rectangles and their macro‐element versions, and nonconforming linear velocity‐constant pressure on triangles and nonconforming rotated bilinear velocity‐constant pressure on rectangles. By applying the relationship between the two methods, we obtain the convergence finite volume solutions for the Stokes equations. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. In this paper,a nonconforming triangular mixed finite element scheme with second order convergence behavior is proposed for the stationary Navier-Stokes equations.The new nonconforming triangular element is taken as approximation space for the velocity and the linear element for the pressure.The convergence analysis is presented and optimal error estimates of both broken H1-norm and L2-norm for velocity as well as the L2-norm for the pressure are derived.  相似文献

主要研究一类电报方程的H~1-Galerkin非协调混合有限元方法,在任意四边形网格剖分下,其逼近空间分别取为类Wilson元与双线性Q_1元,在不需要满足LBB相容性条件及不采用传统的Ritz投影的情况下,得到了与常规有限元方法相同的L~2-模和H~1-模的误差估计,进一步拓展了H~1-Galerkin混合有限元和类Wilson元的应用范围.  相似文献

1引 言 对于各向同性,均匀介质的平面线弹性问题,当Lamé常数λ→∞(泊松率v→0.5)时,即对于几乎不可压介质,通常的协调有限元格式的解往往不再收敛到原问题的解,或者达不到最优收敛阶,这就是所谓的闭锁现象(见[3],[7],[8]及[10]).究其原因,在通常的有限元分析中,其误差估计的系数与λ有关,当λ→∞时,该系数将趋于无穷大.因此为克服闭锁现象就需要构造特殊的有限元格式,使得当λ→∞时,有限元逼近解仍然收敛到原问题的解.  相似文献

A simple nonconforming brick element is proposed for 3D Stokes equations. This element has 15 degrees of freedom and reaches the lowest approximation order. In the mixed scheme for Stokes equations, we adopt our new element to approximate the velocity, along with the discontinuous piecewise constant element for the pressure. The stability of this scheme is proved and thus the optimal convergence rate is achieved. A numerical example verifies our theoretical analysis.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the five parameters nonconforming finite element schemes with moving grids for velocity-pressure mixed formulations of the nonstationary Stokes problem in 2-D. We show that this element has anisotropic behavior and derive anisotropic error estimations in some certain norms of the velocity and the pressure based on some novel techniques. Especially through careful analysis we get an interesting result on consistency error estimation, which has never been seen for mixed finite element methods in the previously literatures.  相似文献

In this paper, first we discuss a technique to compare finite volume method and some well-known finite element methods, namely the dual mixed methods and nonconforming primal methods, for elliptic equations. These both equivalences are exploited to give us a posteriori error estimator for finite volume methods. This estimator is explicitly given, easy to compute and asymptotically exact without any regularity of the solution in unstructured grids.  相似文献
