The singular boundary-value problem
$ \left\{ {\begin{array}{*{20}{c}} {{u^{\prime\prime}} + g\left( {t,u,{u^{\prime}}} \right) = 0\quad {\text{for}}\quad t \in \left( {0,1} \right),} \hfill \\ {u(0) = u(1) = 0} \hfill \\ \end{array} } \right. $
is studied. The singularity may appear at u?=?0, and the function g may change sign. An existence theorem for solutions to the above boundary-value problem is proposed, and it is proved via the method of upper and lower solutions.

In this paper, we consider the following problem
$$\left\{ {\begin{array}{*{20}{c}}{ - \Delta u\left( x \right) + u\left( x \right) = \lambda \left( {{u^p}\left( x \right) + h\left( x \right)} \right),\;x \in {\mathbb{R}^N},} \\ {u\left( x \right) \in {H^1}\left( {{\mathbb{R}^N}} \right),\;u\left( x \right) \succ 0,\;x \in {\mathbb{R}^N},\;} \end{array}} \right.\;\left( * \right)$$
, where λ > 0 is a parameter, p = (N+2)/(N?2). We will prove that there exists a positive constant 0 < λ* < +∞ such that (*) has a minimal positive solution for λ ∈ (0, λ*), no solution for λ > λ*, a unique solution for λ = λ*. Furthermore, (*) possesses at least two positive solutions when λ ∈ (0, λ*) and 3 ≤ N ≤ 5. For N ≥ 6, under some monotonicity conditions of h we show that there exists a constant 0 < λ** < λ* such that problem (*) possesses a unique solution for λ ∈ (0, λ**).

Let n, k, α be integers, n, α>0, p be a prime and q=p α. Consider the complete q-uniform family
$\mathcal{F}\left( {k,q} \right) = \left\{ {K \subseteq \left[ n \right]:\left| K \right| \equiv k(mod q)} \right\}$
We study certain inclusion matrices attached to F(k,q) over the field\(\mathbb{F}_p \). We show that if l≤q?1 and 2ln then
$rank_{\mathbb{F}_p } I(\mathcal{F}(k,q),\left( {\begin{array}{*{20}c} {\left[ n \right]} \\ { \leqslant \ell } \\ \end{array} } \right)) \leqslant \left( {\begin{array}{*{20}c} n \\ \ell \\ \end{array} } \right)$
This extends a theorem of Frankl [7] obtained for the case α=1. In the proof we use arguments involving Gröbner bases, standard monomials and reduction. As an application, we solve a problem of Babai and Frankl related to the size of some L-intersecting families modulo q.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a method for inverting the Laplace transform F(s) = \(\int\limits_0^\infty {e^{ - st} f(t)dt} \), which consists in representing the original function by the Laguerre series
$f(t) = \sum\limits_{k = 0}^\infty {a_k L_k (bt).} $
(1)
First, we perform a conformal mapping of the plane (s), which depends on parameter ξ. The value of the parameter is determined by the location of the singular points of the given representation. Under this mapping, series (1) takes the form
$f(t) = \frac{{b - \xi }}{b}\exp (\xi t)\sum\limits_{k = 0}^\infty {c_k L_k ((b - \xi )t).} $
It is demonstrated that such inverting scheme is equivalent to applying the Picone-Tricomi method with further acceleration of the rate of convergence of series (1) using the Euler-Knopp nonlinear procedure
$\sum\limits_{k = 0}^\infty {a_k z^k } = \sum\limits_{k = 0}^\infty {A_k (p)\frac{{z^k }}{{(1 - pz)^{k + 1} }},} A_k (p) = \sum\limits_{j = 0}^k {\left( \begin{gathered} k \hfill \\ j \hfill \\ \end{gathered} \right)( - p)^{k - j} a_j } .$
Under this approach, the original function is represented by the series
$f(t) = \exp \left( {\frac{{bpt}}{{p - 1}}} \right)\sum\limits_{k = 0}^\infty {\frac{{A_k (p)}}{{(1 - p)^{k + 1} }}L_k } \left( {\frac{{bpt}}{{1 - p}}} \right),$
where parameters ξ and p are related by the formula p = x/(ξ ? b). Unlike many other methods for summation of series, in the scheme suggested, there is no need to investigate the regularity conditions.

We concern the sublinear Schrödinger-Poisson equations \(\left\{ \begin{gathered}- \Delta u + \lambda V\left( x \right)u + \phi u = f\left( {x,u} \right)in{\mathbb{R}^3} \hfill \\- \Delta \phi = {u^2}in{\mathbb{R}^3} \hfill \\ \end{gathered} \right.\) where λ > 0 is a parameter, VC(R3,[0,+∞)), fC(R3×R,R) and V-1(0) has nonempty interior. We establish the existence of solution and explore the concentration of solutions on the set V-1(0) as λ → ∞ as well. Our results improve and extend some related works.  相似文献

We further develop the method, devised earlier by the authors, which permits finding closed-form expressions for the optimal controls by elastic boundary forces applied at two ends, x = 0 and x = l, of a string. In a sufficiently large time T, the controls should take the string vibration process, described by a generalized solution u(x, t) of the wave equation
$$u_{tt} (x,t) - u_{tt} (x,t) = 0,$$
from an arbitrary initial state
$$\{ u(x,0) = \varphi (x), u_t (x,0) = \psi (x)$$
to an arbitrary terminal state
$$\{ u(x,T) = \hat \varphi (x), u_t (x,T) = \hat \psi (x).$$

In this paper, we study the existence of positive solutions to the following Schr¨odinger system:{-?u + V_1(x)u = μ_1(x)u~3+ β(x)v~2u, x ∈R~N,-?v + V_2(x)v = μ_2(x)v~3+ β(x)u~2v, x ∈R~N,u, v ∈H~1(R~N),where N = 1, 2, 3; V_1(x) and V_2(x) are positive and continuous, but may not be well-shaped; and μ_1(x), μ_2(x)and β(x) are continuous, but may not be positive or anti-well-shaped. We prove that the system has a positive solution when the coefficients Vi(x), μ_i(x)(i = 1, 2) and β(x) satisfy some additional conditions.  相似文献

In this paper, we improve the previous results of the authors [G. Lü and H. Tang, On some results of Hua in short intervals, Lith. Math. J., 50(1):54–70, 2010] by proving that each sufficiently large integer N satisfying some congruence conditions can be written as

We study positive solutions of the following polyharmonic equation with Hardy weights associated to Navier boundary conditions on a half space:?????(-?)~mu(x)=u~p(x)/|x|~s,in R_+~n,u(x)=-?u(x)=…=(-?)~(m-1)u(x)=0,on ?R_+~n,(0.1)where m is any positive integer satisfying 02mn.We first prove that the positive solutions of(0.1)are super polyharmonic,i.e.,(-?)~iu0,i=0,1,...,m-1.(0.2) For α=2m,applying this important property,we establish the equivalence between (0.1) and the integral equation u(x)=c_n∫R_+~n(1/|x-y|~(n-α)-1/|x~*-y|~(n-α))u~p(y)/|y|~sdy,(0.3) where x~*=(x1,...,x_(n-1),-x_n) is the reflection of the point x about the plane R~(n-1).Then,we use the method of moving planes in integral forms to derive rotational symmetry and monotonicity for the positive solution of(0.3),in whichαcan be any real number between 0 and n.By some Pohozaev type identities in integral forms,we prove a Liouville type theorem—the non-existence of positive solutions for(0.1).  相似文献

We investigate the nonnegative solutions of the system involving the fractional Laplacian:
$$\left\{ {\begin{array}{*{20}c} {\begin{array}{*{20}c} {( - \Delta )^\alpha u_i (x) = f_i (u),} & {x \in \mathbb{R}^n , i = 1,2, \ldots ,m,} \\ \end{array} } \\ {u(x) = (u_1 (x),u_2 (x), \ldots ,u_m (x)),} \\ \end{array} } \right.$$
where 0 < α < 1, n > 2, f i (u), 1 ≤ im, are real-valued nonnegative functions of homogeneous degree p i ≥ 0 and nondecreasing with respect to the independent variables u 1, u 2,..., u m . By the method of moving planes, we show that under the above conditions, all the positive solutions are radially symmetric and monotone decreasing about some point x 0 if p i = (n + 2α)/(n ? 2α) for each 1 ≤ im; and the only nonnegative solution of this system is u ≡ 0 if 1 < p i < (n + 2α)/(n ? 2α) for all 1 ≤ im.

Let λ > 0 and
$${\Delta _\lambda }: = - \frac{{{d^2}}}{{d{x^2}}} - \frac{{2\lambda }}{x}\frac{d}{{dx}}$$
be the Bessel operator on R+:= (0,∞). We first introduce and obtain an equivalent characterization of CMO(R+, x2λdx). By this equivalent characterization and by establishing a new version of the Fréchet-Kolmogorov theorem in the Bessel setting, we further prove that a function b ∈ BMO(R+, x2λdx) is in CMO(R+, xdx) if and only if the Riesz transform commutator xxxx is compact on Lp(R+, x2λdx) for all p ∈ (1,∞).

We are concerned with the existence of least energy solutions of nonlinear Schrödinger equations involving the fractional Laplacian
$$\begin{array}{*{20}c} {( - \Delta )^s u(x) + \lambda V(x)u(x) = u(x)^{p - 1} ,} & {u(x) \geqslant 0,} & {x \in \mathbb{R}^N ,} \\ \end{array} $$
for sufficiently large λ, 2 < p < \(\frac{{2N}}{{N - 2s}}\) for N ≥ 2. V (x) is a real continuous function on RN. Using variational methods we prove the existence of least energy solution u λ(x) which localizes near the potential well int V ?1(0) for λ large. Moreover, if the zero sets int V ?1(0) of V (x) include more than one isolated component, then u λ(x) will be trapped around all the isolated components. However, in Laplacian case s = 1, when the parameter λ is large, the corresponding least energy solution will be trapped around only one isolated component and become arbitrarily small in other components of int V ?1(0). This is the essential difference with the Laplacian problems since the operator (?Δ)s is nonlocal.

with constant m ≥ 0 and p > 1 in the unit ball S = {xR n : |x| < 1}(n ≥ 3) with the boundary Γ. We prove that with pm+n/n?2 this problem has a unique positive radially symmetric solution.

It is well-known that Morgan-Voyce polynomials B n(x) and b n(x) satisfy both a Sturm-Liouville equation of second order and a three-term recurrence equation ([SWAMY, M.: Further properties of Morgan-Voyce polynomials, Fibonacci Quart. 6 (1968), 167–175]). We study Diophantine equations involving these polynomials as well as other modified classical orthogonal polynomials with this property. Let A, B, C ∈ ? and {pk(x)} be a sequence of polynomials defined by
$\begin{gathered} p_0 (x) = 1 \hfill \\ p_1 (x) = x - c_0 \hfill \\ p_{n + 1} (x) = (x - c_n )p_n (x) - d_n p_{n - 1} (x), n = 1,2,..., \hfill \\ \end{gathered} $
with
$(c_0 ,c_n ,d_n ) \in \{ (A,A,B),(A + B,A,B^2 ),(A,Bn + A,\tfrac{1}{4}B^2 n^2 + Cn)\} $
with A ≠ 0, B > 0 in the first, B ≠ 0 in the second and C > ?¼B 2 in the third case. We show that the Diophantine equation
with m > n ≥ 4,
≠ 0 has at most finitely many solutions in rational integers x, y.
