Mononuclear copper(II) and trinuclear cobalt(II) complexes, namely [Cu(L1)]2 · CH2Cl2 and [{Co(L2)(EtOH)}2Co(H2O)] · EtOH {H2L1 = 4,6‐dichloro‐6′‐methyoxy‐2,2′‐[1,1′‐(ethylenedioxydinitrilo)dimethylidyne]diphenol and H3L2 = 6‐ethyoxy‐6′‐hydroxy‐2,2′‐[1,1′‐(ethylenedioxydinitrilo)dimethylidyne]diphenol}, were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR and UV/Vis spectroscopy, and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. In the CuII complex, the CuII atom is four‐coordinate, with a N2O2 coordination sphere, and has a slightly distorted square‐planar arrangement. Interestingly, the obtained trinuclear CoII complex is different from the common reported 2:3 (L:CoII) salamo‐type CoII complexes. Infinite 2D layer supramolecular structures are formed via abundant intermolecular hydrogen bonding and π ··· π stacking interactions in the CuII and CoII complexes.  相似文献

Tribochemical reactions of KBr, KI and CaI2 with [Cu(L)Cl2(EtOH)3/2(H2O)]1/2H2O (L = formylhydrazine) give novel CuI and CuII complexes, which have been characterized by elemental analyses, spectral (i.r., u.v.–vis., 1H-n.m.r.) and magnetic measurements. The i.r. spectra indicate that (L) behaves in a monodentate manner, coordinating via the azomethine nitrogen (C-N) group in the CuII complexes, but behaving as a bidentate ligand, via the carbonyl oxygen and NH2 groups in the CuI complexes. KI and CaI2 react with [Cu(L)Cl2(EtOH)3/2(H2O)]-1/2H2O in the solid state, accompanied by a colour change, substitution of the chloride by iodide ions, and reduction of CuII to CuI to give complexes with formulae [Cu(L)I(EtOH)1/2] and [Cu1.7(L)I1.7(EtOH)1/2]. On the other hand, the tribochemical reaction of KBr with [Cu(L)Cl2(EtOH)3/2(H2O)]1/2H2O is accompanied by a colour change; substitution of the chloride by bromide ions, but without reduction of CuII and yields a complex of formula [Cu(L)2Br2(EtOH)(H2O)]1/2EtOH. The spectral and magnetic results suggest a distorted octahedral geometry for the CuII complexes while a tetrahedral geometry around the CuI ion. The non-stoichiometric structure of [Cu1.7(L)I1.7(EtOH)1/2] is discussed.  相似文献

Cobalt(II), nickel(II), and copper(II) complexes containing 5,12-di(4-bromophenyl)-7,14-dimethyl-1,2,4,8,9,11-hexaazacyclotetradeca-7,14-diene-3,10-dione (H2L1) and 5,12-diphenyl-7,14-dimethyl-1,2,4,8,9,11-hexaazacyclotetradeca-7,14-diene-3,10-dione (H2L2) have been synthesized. All complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, MALDI TOF-MS spectrometry, and electronic absorption spectroscopy. The crystal structures of two compounds, [Cu2(H2L1)Cl4]n and [NiL2], were determined by X-ray powder diffraction. In the polymeric [Cu2(H2L1)Cl4]n, the Cu2Cl4 units and H2L1 molecules are situated on inversion centers. Each Cu(II) has a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination environment formed by N and O from H2L1 [Cu–N 2.340(14)?Å, Cu–O 1.952(11)?Å], two bridging chlorides [Cu–Cl 2.332(5), 2.279(5)?Å] and one terminal chloride [Cu–Cl 2.320(6)?Å]. In the [NiL2] complex, the Ni(II) situated on inversion center has a distorted square-planar coordination environment formed by four nitrogens from L2 [Ni–N 1.860(11), 1.900(11)?Å].  相似文献

Naphthaldimines containing N2O2 donor centers react with platinum(II) and (IV) chlorides to give two types of complexes depending on the valence of the platinum ion. For [Pt(II)], the ligand is neutral, [(H2L1)PtCl2]·3H2O (1) and [(H2L3)2Pt2Cl4]·5H2O (3), or monobasic [(HL2)2Pt2Cl2]·2H2O (2) and [(HL4)2Pt]·2H2O (4). These complexes are all diamagnetic having square-planar geometry. For [Pt(IV)], the ligand is dibasic, [(L1)Pt2Cl4(OH)2]·2H2O (5), [(L2)Pt3Cl10]·3H2O (6), [(L3)Pt2Cl4(OH)2]·C2H5OH (7) and [(L4)Pt2Cl6]·H2O (8). The Pt(IV) complexes are diamagnetic and exhibit octahedral configuration around the platinum ion. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, UV-Vis and IR spectra, electrical conductivity and thermal analyses (DTA and TGA). The molar conductances in DMF solutions indicate that the complexes are non-ionic. The complexes were tested for their catalytic activities towards cathodic reduction of oxygen.  相似文献

Seven new bi‐ and polyhomonuclear transition metal complexes with three polyhydroxlated bisazodianil ligands were synthesized and characterized. The ligands were derived from condensation of 6‐(5‐formyl‐2‐hydroxyphenylazo)‐2,4‐dihydroxypyrimidine with aliphatic diamines (H8L1, H8L2 and H6L3). The data of elemental and thermal analyses, molar conductance measurement, IR, electronic and ESR spectra as well as magnetic moment measurements support the formation of [L1Co7Cl6(H2O)10]·22H2O ( 1 ), [H2L2Mn6Cl6(H2O)8]·3H2O·2EtOH ( 3 ), [L2Co8Cl8(H2O)12]·24H2O ( 4 ), [H4L3Co2Cl2(H2O)2]·8H2O·2EtOH ( 6 ) with a tetrahedral geometry and [H2L1Ni5Cl4(H2O)16]·19H2O·EtOH ( 2 ), [L2Ni8Cl8(H2O)28]·8H2O·EtOH ( 5 ) with an octahedral geometry while [H6L3Cu3(H2O)7]Cl3·10H2O ( 7 ) has a distorted tetrahedral arrangement. The mode of bonding between the metal ions and the ligand molecules is determined and the metal‐metal interaction was studied. The activation thermo‐kinetic parameters for the thermal decomposition steps of the complexes E*, ΔH*, ΔS*, and ΔG* were calculated.  相似文献

New bi- and trihomonuclear Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II) complexes with sulfa-guanidine Schiff bases have been synthesized for potential chemotherapeutic use. The complexes are characterized using elemental and thermal (TGA) analyses, mass spectra (MS), molar conductance, IR, 1H-NMR, UV-Vis, and electron spin resonance (ESR) spectra as well as magnetic moment measurements. The low molar conductance values denote non-electrolytes. The thermal behavior of these chelates shows that the hydrated complexes lose water of hydration in the first step followed by loss of coordinated water followed immediately by decomposition of the anions and ligands in subsequent steps. IR and 1H-NMR data reveal that ligands are coordinated to the metal ions by two or three bidentate centers via the enol form of the carbonyl C=O group, enolic sulfonamide S(O)OH, and the nitrogen of azomethine. The UV-Vis and ESR spectra as well as magnetic moment data reveal that formation of octahedral [Mn2L1(AcO)2(H2O)6] (1), [Co2(L1)2(H2O)8] (2), [Ni2L1(AcO)2(H2O)6] (3), [Mn3L2(AcO)3(H2O)9] (5), [Co3L2(AcO)3(H2O)9] · 4H2O (6), [Ni3L2(AcO)3(H2O)9] · 7H2O (7), [Mn3L3(AcO)3(H2O)6] (9), [Co2(HL3)2(H2O)8] · 4H2O (10), [Ni3L3(AcO)3(H2O)9] (11), [Mn3L4(AcO)3(H2O)9] · H2O (13), [Co2(HL4)2(H2O)8] · 5H2O (14), and [Ni3L4(AcO)3(H2O)9] (15) while [Zn2L1(AcO)2(H2O)2] (4), [Zn3L2(AcO)3(H2O)3] · 2H2O (8), [Zn3L3(AcO)3(H2O)3] · 3H2O (12), and [Zn3L4(AcO)3(H2O)3] · 2H2O (16) are tetrahedral. The electron spray ionization (ESI) MS of the complexes showed isotope ion peaks of [M]+ and fragments supporting the formulation.  相似文献

The reactions of 2-(2-pyridyl)benzothiazole (1) with MX2·nH2O salts (M = NiII, CoII, or CuII; X = Cl or ClO4; n = 0–2) in EtOH afforded the corresponding complexes. Depending on the nature of the counterion in the starting metal salt, the reactions give compounds of composition M(1)Cl2·nH2O or Cu(1)2(ClO4)2·H2O. The molecular and crystal structure of the CuII(1)2(ClO4)2·H2O complex was established by X-ray diffraction. The copper atom in this complex has a distorted tetragonal-pyramidal ligand environment and is coordinated by four nitrogen atoms of two ligand molecules and one water molecule. Electrochemical study of the ligand and the resulting complexes by cyclic voltammetry and at a rotating disk electrode demonstrated that ligand 1 stabilizes reduced forms of complexes containing Ni, Co, or Cu atoms in the oxidation state +1. Background

Hydrazones and their metal complexes were heavily studied due to their pharmacological applications such as antimicrobial, anticonvulsant analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer agents. This work aims to synthesize and characterize novel complexes of VO2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Zr4+and Pd2+ ions with oxalo bis(2,3-butanedione-hydrazone). Single crystals of the ligand have been grown and analyzed.

Results

Oxalo bis(2,3-butanedionehydrazone) [OBH] has a monoclinic crystal with P 1 21/n 1 space group. The VO2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Zr4+ and Pd2+ complexes have the formulas: [VO(OBH–H)2]·H2O, [Co(OBH)2Cl]Cl·½EtOH, [Ni2(OBH)Cl4]·H2O·EtOH, [Cu(OBH)2Cl2]·2H2O, [Zn(OBH–H)2], [Zr(OBH)Cl4]·2H2O, and [Pd2(OBH)(H2O)2Cl4]·2H2O. All complexes are nonelectrolytes except [Co(OBH)2Cl]Cl·½EtOH. OBH ligates as: neutral tetradentate (NNOO) in the Ni2+ and Pd2+ complexes; neutral bidentate (OO) in [Co(OBH)2Cl]Cl·½EtOH, [Zr(OBH)Cl4]·2H2O and [Cu(OBH)2Cl2]·2H2O and monobasic bidentate (OO) in the Zn2+ and VO2+ complexes. The NMR (1H and 13C) spectra support these data. The results proved a tetrahedral for the Zn2+ complex; square-planar for Pd2+; mixed stereochemistry for Ni2+; square-pyramid for Co2+ and VO2+ and octahedral for Cu2+ and Zr4+ complexes. The TGA revealed the outer and inner solvents as well as the residual part. The molecular modeling of [Ni2(OBH)Cl4]·H2O·EtOH and [Co(OBH)2Cl]Cl·½EtOH are drawn and their molecular parameters proved that the presence of two metals stabilized the complex more than the mono metal. The complexes have variable activities against some bacteria and fungi. [Zr(OBH)Cl4]·2H2O has the highest activity. [Co(OBH)2Cl]Cl·½EtOH has more activity against Fusarium.

Conclusion

Oxalo bis(2,3-butanedionehydrazone) structure was proved by X-ray crystallography. It coordinates with some transition metal ions as neutral bidentate; mononegative bidentate and neutral tetradentate. The complexes have tetrahedral, square-planar and/or octahedral structures. The VO2+ and Co2+ complexes have square-pyramid structure. [Cu(OBH)2Cl2]·2H2O and [Ni2(OBH)Cl4]·H2O·EtOH decomposed to their oxides while [VO(OBH–H)2]·H2O to vanadium. The energies obtained from molecular modeling calculation for [Ni2(OBH)Cl4]·H2O·EtOH are less than those for [Co(OBH)2Cl]Cl·½EtOH indicating the two metals stabilized the complex more than mono metal. The Co(II) complex is polar molecule while the Ni(II) is non-polar.

4,6-Diacetylresorcinol serves as a starting point for the generation of multidentate S/N/O or O/N/O symmetrical chelating agents by condensation with thiosemicarbazide or semicarbazide to yield the corresponding bis(thiosemicarbazone) H4L1 or bis(semicarbazone) H4L2, respectively. Reaction of H4L1 and H4L2 with M(NO3)2·6H2O (M?=?Co or Ni) afforded dimeric complexes for H4L1 and binuclear complexes for H4L2, revealing the tendency of S to form bridges. The dimeric cobalt complexes of H4L1 are very interesting in that they contain CoII/CoIII, side/side, low-spin octahedral coordinated CoIII-ions and high-spin square-planar coordinated CoII-ions. These complexes have the general formula [(H2L1)2Co2(H2O) (NO3)]·nEtOH. Arguments supporting these anomalous CoII/CoIII structures are based on a pronounced decrease in their magnetic moments, elemental and thermal analyses, visible and IR spectra, as well as their unreactivity towards organic bases such as 1,10-phenanthroline (phen), 2,2′-bipyridine (Bpy), N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylethylenediamine (Tmen) and 8-hydroxyquinoline (oxine, Ox). The dimeric octahedral NiII complex [(H2L1)2Ni2(H2O)4]·3H2O showed higher reactivity towards phen and Bpy and formed adducts; [(HL1)Ni2(B)(H2O)5] NO3 (B?=?phen or Bpy). In the presence of oxine, the dimeric brown paramagnetic octahedral complex [(H2L1)2Ni2(H2O)4]·3H2O was transformed to the dimeric brick-red diamagnetic square-planar complex [(H3L1)2Ni2](NO3)2. The latter showed dramatic behavior in its 1H NMR spectrum in DMSO-d 6, which was explained on the basis of H+-transfer. By contrast, the binuclear NiII–H4L2 complex (11) showed higher reactivity towards phen, Bpy and oxine. These reactions afforded mixed dimeric complexes having the molar ratio 2?:?2?:?1 (NiII?:?H4L2?:?base). The binuclear CoII–H4L2 complex afforded an adduct with phen and trinuclear complexes with Bpy and oxine. All complexes were found to be unreactive towards Tmen. Structural characterization was achieved by elemental and thermal analyses, spectral data (electronic, IR, mass and 1H NMR spectra) and conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements.  相似文献

A series of binuclear CoII, NiII, CuII and ZnII complexes having μ-1,2 diazine bridging have been prepared and characterized by various physico-chemical methods. The hexadentate ligands were synthesized by condensing 3,5-dichloroformyl-1H-pyrazole with 2-hydrazinobenzothiazole (L1H) or 4-aminoantipyrine (L2H) in 1:2 ratio. Gel electrophoresis data indicate cleavage of E. coli DNA to a minute extent by both [Co2L2(μ-Cl)Cl2(H2O)2]·H2O and [Ni2L2(μ-Cl)Cl2(H2O)2]. Conversely, the data for the remaining complexes indicated binding but not cleavage. These results were confirmed by viscosity measurements and absorption spectral studies. An intercalative binding mode is predicted when the title complexes interact with DNA.  相似文献

Transition metal complexes of 2-(1-(carboxymethyl)-2-methyl-1H-benzimidazol-3-ium-3-yl)acetate (HL), namely [Co(L)2(H2O)4] · 6H2O (I) and [Cu(L)2(H2O)2] · 4H2O (II), have been synthesized by a hydrothermal procedure and characterized by X-ray crystallography, CIF files CCDC nos. 1007524 (I), 1007525 (II). Both I and II are mononuclear molecules. In I, the Co2+ ion is in octahedral coordiantion environment and surrounded by four O atoms from water molecules and two carboxylate O atoms of two deprotonated ligand (L?) occupied six culmination. While in II, the Cu2+ ion is located in a square-planar geometry, bounded to two aqua O atoms and two carboxylate O atoms from L?.  相似文献

New heteronuclear complexes containing oxorhenium(V), Cu(II), Ni(II), Fe(III), UO2(VI) and Th(IV) ions were prepared by the reaction of the complex ligand, [ReO(H4L)Cl]Cl2, where H4L = 8,17-dimethyl-6,15-dioxo-5,7,14,16-tetrahydrodibenzo[a,h][14]annulene-2,11-dicarboxylic acid, with the previous transition and actinide salts. Three heteronuclear Cu(II) complexes were isolated depending on the ratio of [ReO(H4L)Cl]Cl2?:?Cu(II) ion. When the ratios were 1?:?0.5, 1?:?1 and 1?:?2, the heteronuclear complexes {[ReO(H3L)Cl]2CuCl2(OH2)2}SO4 · H2O (I), [ReO(H3L)Cl2Cu(OH2)2(SO4)] (II) and {ReO(H2L)Cl[Cu(OH2)3 SO4]2} (III) were obtained, respectively. Heteronuclear complexes of the other metal cations were obtained by mixing [ReO(H4L)Cl]Cl2 with the metal salt in the ratio 1?:?1 to obtain the heteronuclear complexes [ReO(H3L)Cl2Ni(OH2)2](NO3)2 (IV), [ReO(H3L)Cl3Fe(OH2)3](NO3)2 (V), [ReO(H3L)ClUO2(NO3)2 (OH2)]Cl (VI) and [ReO(H3L)Cl3Th(NO3)2(OH2)]NO3 · 2H2O (VII). The complex ligand coordinates with the heterometal ion via the carboxylate group, and the infrared bands νas COO and νs COO indicate that the carboxylate acts as a unidentate ligand to the heterometal cations. Cu(II) and Fe(III) cations in the heteronuclear complexes have octahedral geometry, while Ni(II) is square planar. Thermal studies explored the possibility of obtaining new heteronuclear complexes pyrolytically in the solid state from the corresponding mother complexes. The structures of the complexes were elucidated by conductance, IR and electronic spectra, magnetic moments, 1H NMR and TG-DSC measurements as well as by mass spectroscopy.  相似文献

Copper(II) complexes incorporating the isomeric tolyl-derivatised terpyridine ligands, 4′-p-tolyl-2,2′:6′,2′′-terpyridine (L1) and 6′-p-tolyl-2,2′:2′′,4′-terpyridine (L2) have been prepared and characterised by X-ray diffraction. The first of these is a co-crystal of type [Cu(L1)(NO3)2]·[Cu(L1)(NO3)(EtOH)]NO3·MeOH while the second is a single complex of type [Cu(L2)2(NO3)]NO3·0.5MeOH·1.5H2O. Crystallisation of a mixture of both products from ethanol/methanol (1:1) yields an unusual co-crystalline product of stoichiometry [Cu(L2)2NO3]2[Cu(L1)(NO3)2](NO3)2 whose structure was also confirmed by an X-ray stucture determination.  相似文献

Four new complexes, [Cu2(Bpca)2(L1)(H2O)2] · 3H2O (I), [Cu2(Bpca)2(L2)(H2O)2] (II), [Cu2(Bpca)2(L3)] · 2H2O (III), [Cu2(Bpca)2(L1)(H2O)] · 2H2O (IV) (Bpca = bis(2-pyridylcarbonyl)amido, H2L1 = glutaric acid, H2L2 = adipic acid, H2L3 = suberic acid, H2L4 = azelaic acid) have been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods (CIF files CCDC nos. 1432836 (I), 1432835 (II), 817411 (III), and 817412 (IV)), elemental analyses, IR spectra. Structural analyses reveal that compounds I, II, and IV have similar structures [Cu(Bpca)]+ units bridged by dicarboxylate forming dinuclear units, whereas the dinuclear of compound III are edge-shared through two carboxylate oxygen atoms of different suberate anions. Hydrogen bonds are response for the supramolecular assembly of compounds I to IV. The temperature-dependent magnetic property of III was also investigated in the temperature range of 2 to 300 K, and the magnetic behaviour suggests weak antiferromagnetic coupling exchange.  相似文献

Summary The reaction between chromone-3-carboxaldehyde-4-phenylthiosemicarbazone (HCPT) and some hydrated metal salts of CoII, NiII and CuII give complexes of the type [Cu(HCPT)Cl2],[Cu(CPT)BrH2O],[Cu(CPT)2]·2H2O, [Ni(CPT)2(H2O)2]·2H2O, [Co(CPT)2(OAc)] and [Co(CPT)2(H2O)2]X·2H2O (where X=Cl or Br). The metal complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductivities, and spectal (i.r. and visible) and magnetic studies. I.r. spectra show that the HCPT coordinates in the thione or thiol form and behaves in a bidentate manner. Also, HCPT behaves as an oxidizing agent towards CoII forming diamagnetic CoIII complexes. An octahedral structure is proposed for both CoIII and NiII complexes, while a square-planar structure is proposed for CuII complexes on the basis of magnetic and spectral measurements.  相似文献
