Denote by B 2σ,p (1 < p < ∞) the bandlimited class p-integrable functions whose Fourier transform is supported in the interval [−σ, σ]. It is shown that a function in B 2σ,p can be reconstructed in L p(ℝ) by its sampling sequences {f (κπ / σ)} κ∈ℤ and {f’ (κπ / σ)} κ∈ℤ using the Hermite cardinal interpolation. Moreover, it will be shown that if f belongs to L p r (ℝ), 1 < p < ∞, then the exact order of its aliasing error can be determined. We study the zero-varieties of holomorphic functions in the unit ball satisfying the growth condition log |f(z)|≤c fλ(|z|), where λ:(0,1)→ℝ+ is a positive increasing function. We obtain some sufficient conditions on an analytic variety to be defined by such a function. Some results for the particular case λ(r)=log(e/(1−r)), corresponding to the classA −∞, generalize those of B. Korenblum in one variable. We examine under which assumptions on a positive normal functional φ on a von Neumann algebra, and a Borel measurable function f: R +R with f(0) = 0 the subadditivity inequality φ (f(A+B)) ≤ φ(f(A))+φ (f (B)) holds true for all positive operators A, B in . The existence of positive radial solutions of the equation -din( |Du|p-2Du)=f(u) is studied in annular domains in Rn,n≥2. It is proved that if f(0)≥0, f is somewherenegative in (0,∞), limu→0^ f‘ (u)=0 and limu→∞ (f(u)/u^p-1)=∞, then there is alarge positive radial solution on all annuli. If f(0)≤0 and satisfies certain conditions, then the equation has no radial solution if the annuli are too wide.  相似文献

We define and investigate the Riesz transform associated with the differential operatorL λ f(θ)=−f"(θ)−2λ cot’θ. We prove that it can be defined as a principal value and that it is bounded onL P ([0, π],dm λ (θ)),dm λ(θ)=sin θdθ, for every 1<p<∞ and of weak type (1,1). The same boundedness properties hold for the maximal operator of the truncated operators. The speed of convergence of the truncated operators is measured in terms of the boundedness inL P (dm λ ), 1<p<∞, and weak type (1,1) of the oscillation and ρ-variation associated to them. Also, a multiplier theorem is proved to get the boundedness of the conjugate function studied by Muckenhoupt and Stein for 1<p<∞ as a corollary of the results for the Riesz transform. Moreover, we find a condition on the weightv which is necessary and sufficient for the existence of a weightu such that the Riesz transform is bounded fromL P (v dm λ ) intoL P (u dm λ ). In this paper, we investigate the minimality of the map from the Euclidean unit ball Bn to its boundary 핊n−1 for weighted energy functionals of the type Ep,f = ∫Bn f(r)‖∇ up dx, where f is a non-negative function. We prove that in each of the two following cases:
i)  p = 1 and f is non-decreasing,
ii)  p is integer, pn−1 and f = rα with α ≥ 0, the map minimizes Ep,f among the maps in W1,p(Bn, 핊n−1) which coincide with on ∂ Bn. We also study the case where f(r) = rα with −n+2 < α < 0 and prove that does not minimize Ep,f for α close to −n+2 and when n ≥ 6, for α close to 4−n.

For a Toeplitz operator T φ , we study the interrelationship between smoothness properties of the symbol φ and those of the functions annihilated by T φ . For instance, it follows from our results that if φ is a unimodular function on the circle lying in some Lipschitz or Zygmund space Λα with 0 < α < ∞, and if f is an H p -function (p ≥ 1) with T φ f = 0, then f ∈ Λα and
for some c = c(α, p) and d = d(α, p); an explicit formula for the optimal exponent d is provided. Similar—and more general—results for various smoothness classes are obtained, and several approaches are discussed. Furthermore, since a given non-null function fH p lies in the kernel of with , we derive information on the smoothness of H p -functions with smooth arguments. This can be viewed as a natural counterpart to the existing theory of analytic functions with smooth moduli. We consider the equation on a smooth bounded domain of with zero Dirichlet boundary conditions where p ≥ 2, λ > 0 and f satisfies typical assumptions in the subject of extremal solutions. We prove that, for such general nonlinearities f, the extremal solution u * belongs to L  ∞ (Ω) if N < p + p/(p − 1) and if N < p(1 + p/(p − 1)). Pommerenke (1962) proved that for f univalent in the unit disk and 0<p<2, fH p if and only if 01 M 1 p (r,f′)dr<∞. In this paper, we prove that the result continues to be true for p slightly larger than 2, but is false for large p. Also, it turns out that the result is true for all p>0 when f is restricted to the class of close-to-convex functions. Let Ω ⊂ ℝ d be a compact convex set of positive measure. In a recent paper, we established a definiteness theory for cubature formulae of order two on Ω. Here we study extremal properties of those positive definite formulae that can be generated by a centroidal Voronoi tessellation of Ω. In this connection we come across a class of operators of the form Ln[f](x): = ?i=1n fi(x)(f(yi) + á?f(yi), x-yi?)L_n[f](\boldsymbol{x}):= \sum_{i=1}^n \phi_i(\boldsymbol{x})(f(\boldsymbol{y}_i) + \langle\nabla f(\boldsymbol{y}_i), \boldsymbol{x}-\boldsymbol{y}_i\rangle), where y1,..., yn\boldsymbol{y}_1,\dots, \boldsymbol{y}_n are distinct points in Ω and {ϕ 1, ..., ϕ n } is a partition of unity on Ω. We present best possible pointwise error estimates and describe operators L n with a smallest constant in an L p error estimate for 1 ≤ p < ∞ . For a generalization, we introduce a new type of Voronoi tessellation in terms of a twice continuously differentiable and strictly convex function f. It allows us to describe a best operator L n for approximating f by L n [f] with respect to the L p norm.  相似文献

We construct uniform quotient mappings of the plane which have points with non-discrete inverse and good modulus of continuity. In particular, we find a monotone uniform quotient mappingf: ℝ2 → ℝ2 having a point with nontrivial inverse such that lim r→0[Ω(r)/r γ]=0 for anyγ<1/2, where Ω is the modulus of continuity off. We study property (T) and the fixed-point property for actions on L p and other Banach spaces. We show that property (T) holds when L 2 is replaced by L p (and even a subspace/quotient of L p ), and that in fact it is independent of 1≤p<∞. We show that the fixed-point property for L p follows from property (T) when 1<p< 2+ε. For simple Lie groups and their lattices, we prove that the fixed-point property for L p holds for any 1< p<∞ if and only if the rank is at least two. Finally, we obtain a superrigidity result for actions of irreducible lattices in products of general groups on superreflexive spaces.
