Summary We describe the class of complex filiform nilpotent Lie algebras provided with a not trivial external torus of derivations. We prove also that, for dimensions greater than 8, any algebraic irreducible component of the variety of complex nilpotent filiform laws of Lie algebra contains an open set whose elements are characteristically nilpotent laws.

For any complex 6-dimensional nilpotent Lie algebra \mathfrakg,\mathfrak{g}, we compute the strain of all indecomposable 7-dimensional nilpotent Lie algebras which contain \mathfrakg\mathfrak{g} by the adjoining a derivation method. We get a new determination of all 7-dimensional complex nilpotent Lie algebras, allowing to check earlier results (some contain errors), along with a cross table intertwining nilpotent 6- and 7-dimensional Lie algebras.  相似文献

Grunewald and O'Halloran conjectured in 1993 that every complex nilpotent Lie algebra is the degeneration of another, nonisomorphic, Lie algebra. We prove the conjecture for the class of nilpotent Lie algebras admitting a semisimple derivation, and also for 7-dimensional nilpotent Lie algebras. The conjecture remains open for characteristically nilpotent Lie algebras of dimension grater than or equal to 8.  相似文献

We study Lie nilpotent varieties of associative algebras. We explicitly compute the codimension growth for the variety of strong Lie nilpotent associative algebras. The codimension growth is polynomial and found in terms of Stirling numbers of the first kind. To achieve the result we take the free Lie algebra of countable rank L(X), consider its filtration by the lower central series and shift it. Next we apply generating functions of special type to the induced filtration of the universal enveloping algebra U(L(X)) = A(X).  相似文献

For a semisimple algebraic group G over C, we try to make a comparative study between intersection cohomology of Schubert varieties and Lie algebra homology of certain nilpotent Lie algebras. We prove that when all simple factors of G are simply laced, these two are the same as vector spaces over C at the first homology level. We give counter-examples in the general case and state a conjecture as a possible direction for generalisation.  相似文献

Let L be a Lie algebra, and Der z (L) denote the set of all central derivations of L, that is, the set of all derivations of L mapping L into the center. In this paper, by using the notion of isoclinism, we study the center of Der z (L) for nilpotent Lie algebras with nilindex 2. We also give a characterization of stem Lie algebras by their central derivations. In fact we show that for non-abelian nilpotent Lie algebras of finite dimension and any nilpotent Lie algebra with nilindex 2 (not finite dimensional in general), Der z (L) is abelian if and only if L is a stem Lie algebra.  相似文献

We find examples of nilpotent n-Lie algebras and prove n-Lie analogs of classical group theory and Lie algebra results. As an example we show that a nilpotent ideal I of class c in a n-Lie algebra A with A/I 2 nilpotent of class d is nilpotent and find a bound on the class of A. We also find that some classical group theory and Lie algebra results do not hold in n-Lie algebras. In particular, non-nilpotent n-Lie algebras can admit a regular automorphism of order p, and the sum of nilpotent ideals need not be nilpotent.  相似文献

The only known examples of Anosov diffeomorphisms are hyperbolic automorphisms of infranilmanifolds, and the existence of such automorphisms is a really strong condition on the rational nilpotent Lie algebra determined by the lattice, so called an Anosov Lie algebra. We prove that n⊕?⊕n (s times, s≥2) has an Anosov rational form for any graded real nilpotent Lie algebra n having a rational form. We also obtain some obstructions for the types of nilpotent Lie algebras allowed, and use the fact that the eigenvalues of the automorphism are algebraic integers (even units) to show that the types (5,3) and (3,3,2) are not possible for Anosov Lie algebras.  相似文献

We study codimension growth of infinite dimensional Lie algebras over a field of characteristic zero. We prove that if a Lie algebra L is an extension of a nilpotent algebra by a finite dimensional semisimple algebra then the PI-exponent of L exists and is a positive integer.  相似文献

A structure of a left-symmetric algebra on the set of all derivations of a free algebra is introduced such that its commutator algebra becomes the usual Lie algebra of derivations. Left and right nilpotent elements of left-symmetric algebras of derivations are studied. Simple left-symmetric algebras of derivations and Novikov algebras of derivations are described. It is also proved that the positive part of the left-symmetric algebra of derivations of a free nonassociative symmetric m-ary algebra in one free variable is generated by one derivation and some right nilpotent derivations are described.  相似文献

We study ideals of Novikov algebras and Novikov structures on finite-dimensional Lie algebras. We present the first example of a three-step nilpotent Lie algebra which does not admit a Novikov structure. On the other hand we show that any free three-step nilpotent Lie algebra admits a Novikov structure. We study the existence question also for Lie algebras of triangular matrices. Finally we show that there are families of Lie algebras of arbitrary high solvability class which admit Novikov structures.  相似文献

It is proved that if a (?/p ?)-graded Lie algebra L, where p is a prime, has exactly d nontrivial grading components and dim L 0 = m, then L has a nilpotent ideal of d-bounded nilpotency class and of finite (m,d)-bounded codimension. As a consequence, Jacobson's theorem on constant-free nilpotent Lie algebras of derivations is generalized to the almost constant-free case. The problem of classifying Einstein solvmanifolds, or equivalently, Ricci soliton nilmanifolds, is known to be equivalent to a question on the variety $ {\mathfrak{N}_n}\left( \mathbb{C} \right) $ of n-dimensional complex nilpotent Lie algebra laws. Namely, one has to determine which GL n (?)-orbits in $ {\mathfrak{N}_n}\left( \mathbb{C} \right) $ have a critical point of the squared norm of the moment map. In this paper, we give a classification result of such distinguished orbits for n?=?7. The set $ {{{{\mathfrak{N}_n}\left( \mathbb{C} \right)}} \left/ {{{\text{G}}{{\text{L}}_7}\left( \mathbb{C} \right)}} \right.} $ is formed by 148 nilpotent Lie algebras and 6 one-parameter families of pairwise non-isomorphic nilpotent Lie algebras. We have applied to each Lie algebra one of three main techniques to decide whether it has a distinguished orbit or not.  相似文献

We introduce obstructions to the existence of a calibrated G2-structure on a Lie algebra g of dimension seven, not necessarily nilpotent. In particular, we prove that if there is a Lie algebra epimorphism from g to a six-dimensional Lie algebra h with kernel contained in the center of g, then h has a symplectic form. As a consequence, we obtain a classification of the nilpotent Lie algebras that admit a calibrated G2-structure.  相似文献

We give here a construction process for the complex simple Lie algebras and the non-Hermitian type real forms which intersect the minimal nilpotent complex adjoint orbit, using a finite dimensional irreducible representation of the conformal group, or of some two-fold covering of it, with highest weight vector a semi-invariant of degree four. This process leads to a five-graded simple complex Lie algebra and the underlying semi-invariant is intimately related to the structure of the minimal nilpotent orbit. We also describe a similar construction process for the simple real Lie algebras of Hermitian type.  相似文献
