Excitation functions for the production of eight radioactive products of the reactions of 7Li on 56Fe have been measured up to E(7 Li) = 89 MeV. Recoil range distributions for these products, together with inclusive proton, deuteron, triton and alpha spectra, have been measured at energies of 50 and 68 MeV. The α, t and d spectra show characteristic “break-up” components at forward angles, while the recoil distributions show evidence of complete fusion and incomplete-fusion process 56Fe( 7Li,α) 59Co * . A parallel study on 55Mn shows some evidences of the ( 7Li,t) incomplete-fusion process, but the cross-section for this process is significantly less than for the triton fusion process. The recoil distributions can be reproduced on the assumption that essentially all the observed break-up fragments are in fact associated with incomplete fusion, but uncertainties in normalisation leave open the possibility of a significant contribution of pure break-up. A diffraction model of the ( 7Li,α) transfer process reproduces the observed break-up α spectra with some success. Received: 29 March 2001 / Accepted: 12 November 2001  相似文献

With a view to study complete- and incomplete-fusion components in 159Tb , 169Tm ( 16O , x reactions, experiments have been carried out at the Inter-University Accelerator Center, New Delhi, India using the 15UD Pelletron accelerator facilities. The forward mean recoil ranges for some radio-nuclides; 168m Lu , 167Lu , 167Yb , 166Tm produced in the 16O$ + $159Tb system at ≈ 90 MeV, and 179Re , 177Re , 177W , 178Ta and 177Hf produced in the 16O$ + $169Tm system at ≈ 87 MeV have been measured. The recoil-catcher activation technique followed by off-line γ -spectrometry has been employed in the present work. The analysis of forward mean ranges for different radio-nuclides has been done in the framework of the degree of linear momentum transfer from projectile to target nucleus by adopting break-up fusion model considerations. Different complete- and incomplete-fusion components, which may be attributed to the fusion of 16O and/or 12C and 8Be transfer from the 16O projectile to the target nucleus have been observed. An attempt has also been made to separate out the relative percentage contributions of complete- and incomplete-fusion components using experimentally measured forward recoil ranges. The complete-fusion contributions deduced from recoil range distribution are found to be consistent with the prediction of the theoretical model code PACE. The analysis of data indicates the complete- and incomplete-fusion competition for both the systems at the given energies.  相似文献

Mass and charge distributions for binary reaction channels have been measured for the reactions86Kr with76Ge,104Ru and130Te at the Coulomb barrier using chemical separations and-ray spectroscopy. These systems span the region where dynamical hindrance to complete fusion sets in. The binary reactions can be subdivided into two components associated withi) reflection from the outer potential barrier (quasielastic), andii) reseparation after passing the barrier (complex reactions). The sum of complex-reaction channels and evaporation residues from complete fusion can be reproduced by a barrier passing calculation. The fraction of the barrier passing flux leading to reseparation increases from 26±10% for the lightest system to more than 90% for the heaviest system. The data indicate that fusion hindrance is primarily caused by reseparation shortly after passage of the barrier before Swiatecki's conditional saddlepoint is overcome, resulting in partitions close to the entrance channel configuration. In addition, for the heaviest system, a quasifission component representing somewhat less than 20% of the barrier-passing flux was observed. From the missing masses of fragment pairs we can deduce that the reseparating complex-reaction products have kinetic energies well below the fusion barrier and share the excitation energy in a way similar to the sawtooth-like curve known from low-energy fission. The quasielastic, predominantly one- and two-nucleon transfer channels, have strongly varying cross sections for the three systems despite similar effectiveQ-values. A systematics of one-neutron transfer cross sections at the Coulomb barrier is established and shown to differ considerably from the smooth behaviour observed at energies 20–30% above the barrier. The connection to nuclear polarization phenomena and orbit matching is pointed out.Nuclear reactions:76Ge,104Ru,130Te(86Kr, X).E=3.22 MeV/u, (3.64) 3.84 MeV/u, 3.96 MeV/u; enriched targets; catcher foil technique, chemical separations,-ray spectroscopy; deduced mass and charge distributions for binary reactions; competition with complete fusion  相似文献

The francium isotopes200–202Fr were produced in the reaction35Cl+170Yb using bombarding energies of 4.9–5.3 MeV/nucleon. Fusion products were separated in-flight from the primary beam using a gas-filled recoil separator. An alpha line with the alpha particle energy and half-life of (7468±9) keV and (19 −6 +13 ) ms, respectively, was assigned to200Fr. Previously reported decay properties of201,202Fr were confirmed. Excitation functions for evaporation residues of the system 16O + 165Ho have been measured up to 100 MeV. Recoil range distribution of long lived reaction products were measured at 16O beam energy of 100 MeV. Detailed Monte Carlo simulation of recoil range distributions of products were performed with the help of PACE2 code, in order to extract the contributions of incomplete fusion in the individual channels. The results clearly show the incomplete fusion contributions in the tantalum and thulium products. This is confirmed by the predictions of breakup fusion model of the incomplete fusion.  相似文献

Lifetimes for low-lying members of the irregular ΔI = 1 band in 196Pb have been measured by means of the EUROBALL spectrometer using the coincidence recoil distance technique. The 164Dy(36S,4n)196Pb reaction at a beam energy of 168 MeV was used. The data were analyzed with the differential decay-curve method (DDCM). A characteristic drop in the reduced transition probabilities with increasing angular momentum was observed in agreement with predictions by the semiclassical model for the shears mechanism. The fragmentation cross sections of reactions ^12C+^2H, ^12C, ^14N, ^16O at beam energies from 50 to 100 MeV/nucleon are investigated using the isospin-dependent Boltzmann-Langevin equation model. It is found that fragment species increase approximately with the increasing target mass. The fragment species and some fragments production cross sections in reactions of ^12C+^12C, ^14N, ^16O show an obvious variation at the beam energies from 50 to 80 MeV/nucleon. However the calculated fragment production cross sections do not change much when the incident energy increases from 80 to 100 MeV/nucleon.  相似文献

A systematic study of the sub-barrier fusion reactions with neutron-rich projectiles has been carried out for three isotopes 27,29,31Al bombarding a 197Au target. A target chamber equipped with a target stack and sets of MWPC was employed in order to enhance the efficiency of the radioactive beam experiment. Coupled-channel calculations including the quadrupole excitations do not well fit the measured fusion excitation functions, whereas flat barrier distributions to represent the coupling to the neutron transfer largely account for the observed enhancement of the sub-barrier fusion cross-sections. Isomeric cross-section ratios of evaporation residues formed in12C+93Nb and16O+89Y reactions were measured by recoil catcher technique followed by off-line γ-ray spectrometry in the beam energy range of 55.7–77.5 MeV for12C and 68–81 MeV for16O. The isomeric cross-section ratios were resolved into that for complete and incomplete fusion reactions. The angular momentum of the intermediate nucleus formed in incomplete fusion was deduced from the isomeric cross-section ratio by considering the statistical deexcitation of the incompletely fused composite nucleus. The data show that incomplete fusion is associated with angular momenta slightly smaller than critical angular momentum for complete fusion, indicating the deeper interpenetration of projectile and target nuclei than that in peripheral collisions.  相似文献

Fusion-fission and fully energy-damped binary processes of the 35Cl+24Mg reaction were investigated using particle-particle coincidence techniques at a 35Cl bombarding energy of Elab≈ 8 MeV/nucleon. Inclusive data were also taken in order to determine the partial wave distribution of the fusion process. The fragment-fragment correlation data show that the majority of events arises from a binary-decay process with a relatively large multiplicity of secondary light-charged particles emitted by the two primary excited fragments in the exit channel. No evidence is observed for ternary-breakup processes, as expected from the systematics recently established for incident energies below 15 MeV/nucleon and for a large number of reactions. The binary-process results are compared with predictions of statistical-model calculations. The calculations were performed using the Hauser-Feshbach method, based on the available phase space at the scission point of the compound nucleus. This new method uses temperature-dependent level densities and its predictions are in good agreement with the presented experimental data, thus consistent with the fusion-fission origin of the binary fully-damped yields. The spectra of 8Begs fragments emitted in the interaction of 100, 200, 300 and 400 MeV 12C with 59Co, 93Nb and 197Au have been measured and analysed. Our analysis suggests that, before breaking up, 12C may suffer a considerable energy loss which increases with increasing incident energy. The amount of excitation energy provided to the target nucleus in this process increases with decreasing charge of the target nucleus. Received: 3 May 2001 / Accepted: 5 June 2001  相似文献

Large cross-section reaction channels were measured in the systems 6Li( 7Li) + 208Pb with high statistical accuracy at 5(3) energies around the Coulomb barrier from 29 to 39 MeV. These channels were assigned (mainly) to the breakup of 6Li, very loosely bound, into α + d and to the breakup of 5Li, produced by n-transfer to the target, into α + p and to similar processes with 7Li beam. The cross-sections with 6Li, S α = 1.475 MeV, are systematically larger than the 7Li ones. This reflects, most likely, the higher binding energy of 7Li, S α = 2.468 MeV. Theoretical predictions for the 6Li + 208Pb system which include for 6Li breakup to continuum states within a continuum discretized coupled-channels approach (CDCC) and resonant breakup plus n-transfer with DWBA reproduce the angular distribution shapes but still underestimate the cross-sections by a factor ∼ 3. Kinetic-energy spectra and angular distribution of projectile-like fragments have been measured in the reaction of 84 MeV 12C on 169Tm, using the surface barrier silicon-based ΔE-E telescopes. The fragments close to the projectile show typical spectra of quasi-elastic transfer reactions, which were found to be in agreement with the calculations based on the direct surface transfer reaction model. A significant cross-section of fast alpha-particles was found at forward angles, reminiscent of incomplete fusion reactions, which could be explained in terms of the direct surface transfer reaction model after taking into account the level density of continuum states in the heavy reaction product. The results have been explained in terms of the continuous evolution of the reaction mechanism as a function of the mass transfer. Received: 13 March 2002 / Accepted: 3 May 2002  相似文献

The γ-ray emission from the dynamical dipole formed in heavy-ion collisions during the process leading to fusion was measured for the N/Z asymmetric reaction 16O + 116Sn at beam energies of 8.1 and 15.6 MeV/nucleon. High-energy γ-rays and charged particles were measured in coincidence with the heavy recoiling residual nuclei. The data are compared with those from the N/Z symmetric reaction 64Ni + 68Zn at bombarding energies of 4.7 and 7.8 MeV/nucleon, leading to the same CN with the same excitation energies as calculated from kinematics. The measured yield of the high-energy γ-rays from the 16O-induced reaction is found to exceed that of the thermalized CN and the excess yield increases with bombarding energy. The data are in rather good agreement with the predictions for the dynamical dipole emission based on the Boltzmann–Nordheim–Vlasov model. In addition, a comparison with existing data in the same mass region is performed to extract information on the dipole moment dependence.  相似文献

Fission fragment mass and energy distributions and their correlations have been measured for the 16O and 19F + 209Bi reactions over a wide range of excitation energies ( E * = 30-50 MeV). It is observed that in the case of 16O + 209Bi reaction, the average total fragment kinetic energy, <TKE> is nearly independent of the bombarding energy. However, in the case of 19F + 209Bi reaction, the average total kinetic energy of the fission fragments shows a peaking behaviour near the barrier. The variation in <TKE> at near barrier energies in the 19F + 209Bi system seems to be correlated with corresponding strong variation in the variance of the fragment mass distribution. The present results may imply certain dynamical effects leading to compact scission configurations in the fission of 19F + 209Bi system at near barrier bombarding energies. The excitation functions for production of 48 residues in the interaction of 16O with 103Rh have been measured at incident energies varying from about 40 to 400MeV. Their analysis shows that many competing reaction mechanism contribute to the formation of these residues including complete fusion, break-up-fusion reactions and 16O inelastic scattering. The cross-sections of most of these mechanisms are obtained by independent measurements of the spectra of intermediate-mass fragments observed in the interaction of 16O on 93Nb. The agreement between measured and calculated excitation functions is satisfactory in most of the cases.  相似文献

The competition between fusion-fission and deeply inelastic reactions in the Cl + Ni system has been studied by investigating the exit channelQ-value dependence of theZ-distributions of fission-like fragments. TheZ-, kinetic energy- and angular distributions of the fission-like fragments produced in the37Cl +64Ni system atE lab=170, 186 MeV and in the28Si +74Ge system atE lab=176 MeV have been measured by counter telescopes. TheZ-distribution of the37Cl +64Ni system was found to be essentially the same as that of the35Cl +62Ni system at the same bombarding energy. It is shown that this result can not be explained by the statistical fusion fission model but is consistent with a deeply inelastic model. A systematic study of the fission-like phenomenon in this mass region indicates that the maximum angular momenta for fusion reactions as well as the minimum angular momenta for DIC can be reproduced by the Bass model in the sliding limit (f=1.0) while the maximum angular momenta for fully energy-damped deeply inelastic reactions are governed by the strong interaction radius as predicted by the successive critical distance fusion model. The significance of these results are discussed.Communicated by V. Metag  相似文献

Fragments produced in the reactions of 69 MeV/nucleon 36Ar and 55 MeV/nucleon 40Ar on a Be target have been measured experimentally. The isotopic distributions from fragmentation reaction for both projectiles are compared with modified statistical abrasion-ablation model calculations. A strong isospin effect exhibits in the fragment distributions produced in 36Ar and 40Ar fragmentation. Experimental evidence for the disappearance of the isospin effect in the isotopic distributions produced by projectile fragmentation is observed with the increase of the violence of nuclear reaction.
