Variational eigenvalue equations describing vibrations of orthotropic shells containing an ideal incompressible fluid are obtained. The vibration frequencies are assumed to be small, which makes it possible to use linear equations and to consider the boundary of the wet surface of the shell to be unchanged. The equations of anisotropic shells are based on the linear relations of multifield theory, which allows to obtain a more accurate model of anisotropic shells that satisfies the conditions of the finite-element method. The fluid flow is considered irrotational and is described using the Laplace equation. A finite-element algorithm is designed to determine the natural frequencies and modes of vibrations of an arbitrary multilayer orthotropic shell of revolution which is partially filled with an ideal incompressible fluid. __________ Translated from Prikladnaya Mekhanika i Tekhnicheskaya Fizika, Vol. 46, No. 6, pp. 128–135, November–December, 2005.  相似文献

A Kirchhoff-Love type applied theory is used to study the specific characteristics of harmonic waves and vibrations of a helically anisotropic shell. Special attention is paid to axisymmetric and bending vibrations. In both cases, the dispersion equations are constructed and a qualitative and numerical analysis of their roots and the corresponding elementary solutions is performed. It is shown that the skew anisotropy in the axisymmetric case generates a relation between the longitudinal and torsional vibrations which is mathematically described by the amplitude coefficients of homogeneous waves. In the case of a shell with rigidly fixed end surfaces, the dependence of the first two natural frequencies on the shell length and the helical line slope α, i.e., the geometric parameter of helical anisotropy, is studied. A boundary value problem in which longitudinal vibrations are generated on one of the end surfaces and the other end is free of forces and moments is considered to analyze the degree of transformation of longitudinal vibrations into longitudinally torsional vibrations. In the case of bending vibrations, two problems for a half-infinite shell are studied as well. In the first problem, the waves are excited kinematically by generating harmonic vibrations of the shell end surface in the plane of the axial cross-section, and it is shown that the axis generally moves in some closed trajectories far from the end surface. In the second problem, the reflection of a homogeneous wave incident on the shell end is examined. It is shown that the “boundary resonance” phenomenon can arise in some cases.  相似文献

The vibrations of a vessel strongly influence the behavior of the interface of the fluids in it. Thus, vertical vibrations can lead both to the parametric excitation of waves (Faraday ripples) and to the suppression of the Rayleigh-Taylor instability [1–2]. At the present time, the influence of vertical vibrations on the behavior of a fluid surface have been studied in sufficient detail (see, for example, review [3]). The behavior of an interface of fluids in the case of horizontal vibrations has been studied less. An interesting phenomenon has been revealed in the experimental papers [4, 5]: in the case of fairly strong horizontal vibrations of a vessel containing a fluid with a free surface, the fluid collects near one of the vertical vessel walls, the free surface being practically plane and stationary with respect to the vessel, while its angle of inclination to the horizon depends on the vibration rate. But if there is a system of immiscible fluids with comparable but different densities in the vessel, horizontal vibrations lead to the formation of a steady wave relief at the interface. An explanation of the behavior of a fluid with a free boundary was given in [6] on the basis of averaged equations of fluid motion in a vibrational field. The present paper is devoted to an analysis of the behavior of the interface of fluids with comparable densities in a high-frequency vibrational field. A mixed finite-element algorithm is proposed to study the dynamic behavior of loaded shells of revolution containing a stationary or moving compressible fluid. The behavior of the fluid is described by potential theory, whose equations are reduced to integral form using the Galerkin method. The dynamics of the shell is analyzed with the use of the variational principle of possible displacements, which includes the linearized Bernoulli equation for calculating the hydrodynamic pressure exerted on the shell by the fluid. The solution of the problem reduces to the calculation and analysis of the eigenvalues of the coupled system of equations. As an example, the effect of hydrostatic pressure on the dynamic behavior of shells of revolution containing a moving fluid is studied under various boundary conditions. __________ Translated from Prikladnaya Mekhanika i Tekhnicheskaya Fizika, Vol. 49, No. 2, pp. 185–195, March–April, 2008  相似文献

The paper addresses the dynamic interaction of an orthotropic cylindrical shell with the fluid flowing inside. Its velocity has a constant component and low-amplitude pulsations. A method to calculate the characteristics of the parametric vibrations of the shell when the velocity of the fluid is close to critical is proposed. The amplitude–frequency characteristics of the shell–fluid system at fundamental parametric resonance are determined  相似文献

The self-consistent motion of a fluid and elastically oscillating plates partially covering the fluid is simulated numerically in the linear approximation. The problem is reduced to the simultaneous solution of the Laplace equation for the fluid and the equation of elastic plate oscillations for the ice. The numerical and analytical solutions, the latter obtained from an integral equation containing the Green’s function, are compared. To solve the problem numerically, the boundary element method for the Laplace equation and the finite element method for the equation describing the elastic plate are proposed. The coefficients of transmission and reflection of surface gravity waves from the floating plates are calculated. It is shown that the solution may be quasi-periodic with characteristics determined by the initial values of the wave and ice-floe parameters. The ice floes may exert a filtering effect on the surface wave spectrum, essentially reducing its most reflectable components. Sankt-Peterburg. The forced vibrations and dissipative heating of a bimorph cylindrical shell are considered. The shell is made from a dissipative piezomaterial and subjected to a harmonic potential difference. The edges of the panel are assumed hinged and perfectly heat-insulated. The dissipative properties of the material are considered on the basis of the concept of complex characteristics. The analystical solution of this problem is found. A finite-element method is developed to study the dynamic behavior and vibroheating temperature of bimorph shells, which are made from viscoelastic material and subjected to harmonic loading. The results of the analyses of the electromechanical vibrations of the panel performed by the finite-element method and by analytically solving the problem are compared. It is proposed to consider the propagation of surface waves along a tangential magnetohydrodynamic discontinuity in the particular case where the fluid velocities on both sides of the interface are equal to zero. In [1] it was shown that waves called surface Alfvén waves may be propagated along the surface separating a semi-infinite region without a field from a region with a uniform magnetic field. The linear theory of surface Alfvén waves in a compressible medium was considered in [2]. In [3] the damping of surface Alfvén waves as a result of viscosity and heat conduction was investigated. The propagation of low-amplitude nonlinear surface Alfvén waves in an incompressible fluid in the absence of dissipative processes is described by the integrodifferential equation obtained in [4]. By means of a numerical solution of this equation it was shown that a perturbation initially in the form of a sinusoidal wave will break. The breaking time was determined. In this paper the equation derived in [4] is extended to the case of a viscous fluid. It is shown that the equation obtained does not have steady-state solutions. The propagation of periodic disturbances is investigated numerically. Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 94–104, November–December, 1986. Thermal convection in a heterogeneous medium consisting of a fluid and solid particles is studied under conditions of finite-frequency vibrations. Equations of convection are derived within the framework of the generalized Boussinesq approximation, and the problem of stability of a horizontal layer to infinitesimal perturbations under the condition of vertical vibrations is considered. __________ Translated from Prikladnaya Mekhanika i Tekhnicheskaya Fizika, Vol. 49, No. 2, pp. 21–28, March–April, 2008.  相似文献

This paper considers a two-dimensional linear unsteady problem of rigid-stamp indentation on an elastic layer of finite thickness lying on the surface of a compressible fluid of infinite depth. The Lamé equations holds for the elastic layer, and the wave equation for the fluid velocity potential. Using the Laplace and Fourier transforms, the problem is reduced to determining the contact stresses under the stamp from the solution of an integral equation of the first kind, whose kernel has a logarithmic singularity. An asymptotic solution of the problem is constructed for large times of interaction. __________ Translated from Prikladnaya Mekhanika i Tekhnicheskaya Fizika, Vol. 49, No. 2, pp. 131–142, March–April, 2008.  相似文献

The nonlinear parametric vibrations of cylindrical shell are described by the Donnell–Mushtari–Vlasov equations. The motions are represented as a mode expansion. Discretization is performed using the Bubnov–Galerkin method. The describing-function method is used to study traveling waves and nonlinear normal modes in systems with and without dissipation  相似文献

The latest results relating to the theory of nonlinear waves in dispersive and dissipative media are reviewed. Attention is concentrated on small-amplitude solitary waves and, in particular, on the classification of types of solitary waves, their conditions of existence, the evolution of local perturbations associated with the presence of solitary waves of various types, and problems of the existence of nonlinear waves localized with respect to a particular direction as the space dimension increases (spontaneous dimension breaking). As examples of dispersive and dissipative media admitting plane solitary waves of various types, we consider a cold collisionless plasma, an ideal incompressible fluid of finite depth beneath an elastic plate and with surface tension, and a fluid in a rapidly oscillating rectangular vessel (Faraday resonance). Examples of spontaneous dimension breaking are considered for the generalized Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation. Moscow. The effect of initial disturbances and unsteady external loading on an elastic beam of finite length which floats freely on the surface of an ideal incompressible fluid is studied in a linear treatment. The fluid flow is considered potential. The beam deflection is sought in the form of an expansion in the eigenfunctions of beam vibrations in vacuum with time-dependent amplitudes. The problem reduces to solving an infinite system of integrodifferential equations for unknown amplitudes. The memory functions entering this system are determined by solving the radiation problem. The beam behavior is studied for various loads with and without allowance for the weight of the fluid. The effect of fluid depth on beam deformation was determined by comparing with the previously obtained solutions of the unsteady problem for a beam floating in shallow water. __________ Translated from Prikladnaya Mekhanika i Tekhnicheskaya Fizika, Vol. 47, No. 1, pp. 85–94, January–February, 2006.  相似文献

We develop a variational method for solving the spectral problem of free vibrations of a shell of revolution nonclosed in the meridional direction. This method is equally efficient for both medium and small values of the relative thickness of the shell. Coordinate systems of functions are constructed with regard for the structure of formal asymptotic expansions of a fundamental system of solutions of the initial equations. As an example, we calculate frequencies and forms of vibrations of a circular cylindrical shell and show that the algorithm proposed for solving the considered problem guarantees the uniform convergence of solutions and their first three derivatives in the entire region of integration of the equations. __________ Translated from Neliniini Kolyvannya, Vol. 8, No. 3, pp. 415–432, July–September, 2005.  相似文献

The frequencies and damping coefficients of gravitational-capillary waves are found for a wide range of controlling dimensionless parameters. The transition to the limiting cases of deep water and an ideal fluid is analyzed. In the parameter plane, the boundary between the regions of oscillatory and aperiodic perturbations is determined and the region of weak damping is indicated. The equilibrium state of thin liquid films with account for the Van der Waals forces is considered and the dispersion equation for the capillary-Van der Waals surface waves is obtained. For a suitably chosen frequency scale, this equation is the same as that for gravitational-capillary waves. The physical conditions making it possible to observe capillary and Van der Waals waves in thin fluid layers are estimated. Moscow. This paper considers a solution of the problem of coupled hydroelasticity for a helicoidal shell in a rigid tube with a flowing ideal incompressible fluid, which is of interest for the design of heat exchange systems. The flow is considered potential, and boundary conditions are imposed on the deformed surface. The version of the classical theory of elastic shells as the Lagrangian mechanics of deformable surfaces is used. The longitudinal-torsional vibrations of a long shell and a naturally twisted rod are studied. It is established that the obtained hydrodynamic loads are conservative, so that a divergence type instability is possible. A critical combination of parameters is determined.  相似文献

The properties of harmonic surface waves in an elastic cylinder made of a rigid material and filled with a fluid are studied. The problem is solved using the dynamic equations of elasticity and the equations of motion of a perfect compressible fluid. It is shown that two surface (Stoneley and Rayleigh) waves exist in this waveguide system. The first normal wave generates a Stoneley wave on the inner surface of the cylinder. If the material is rigid, no normal wave exists to transform into a Rayleigh wave. The Rayleigh wave on the outer surface forms on certain sections of different dispersion curves. The kinematic and energy characteristics of surface waves are analyzed. As the wave number increases, the phase velocities of all normal waves, except the first one, tend to the sonic velocity in the fluid from above __________ Translated from Prikladnaya Mekhanika, Vol. 43, No. 9, pp. 48–62, September 2007.  相似文献

This paper considers the problem of equilibrium of a nonlinearly elastic spherical shell filled with a heavy fluid and resting on a smooth, absolutely rigid, flat surface. The weight of the shell is assumed to be negligible in comparison with the weight of the fluid filling it. The contact region with the supporting plane is one of the unknowns in the problem. Equilibrium equations for a membrane shell are obtained in an accurate nonlinear formulation. Stresses and strains of a shell made of a Mooney–Rivlin material are numerically investigated. The results are compared with calculation results for the case of inflation of a spherical shell ignoring the weight of the fluid filling. The effect of the fluid weight on shell strains and stresses is estimated.  相似文献

A fluid-structure interaction system subject to Sommerfeld's condition is defined as a Sommerfeld system which is divided into three categories: Fluid Sommerfeld (FS) System, Solid Sommerfeld (SS) System and Fluid Solid Sommerfeld (FSS) System of which Sommerfeld conditions are imposed on a fluid boundary only, a solid boundary only and both fluid and solid boundaries, respectively. This paper follows the previous initial results claimed by simple examples to further mathematically investigate the natural vibrations of generalized Sommerfeld systems. A new parameter representing the speed of radiation wave for generalized 3-D problems with more complicated boundary conditions is introduced into the Sommerfeld condition which allows investigation of the natural vibrations of a Sommerfeld system involving both free surface and compressible waves. The mathematical demonstrations and selected examples confirm and reveal the natural behaviour of generalized Sommerfeld systems defined above. These generalized conclusions can be used in theoretical or engineering analysis of the vibrations of various Sommerfeld systems in engineering.  相似文献
