A series of core–shell polyacrylate latexes with different fluorine/silicone monomer concentrations were prepared successfully by seeded emulsion polymerization. Dodecafluoroheptyl methacrylate and perfluorooctyl methacrylate with different fluorinated side chains were employed as fluorinated monomers, and γ-methacryloxypropyl triisopropoxidesilane (MAPTIPS) was used as a silicone-containing monomer as well as a self-cross-linking agent. The morphology and chemical structure of the latexes were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and differential scanning calorimetry, and the self-stratification properties of the latex film were verified by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and static contact angle measurement. The results showed that the fluorine/silicone-containing polyacrylate latexes presented a uniformly spherical core–shell structure, and the latex films displayed a preferential distribution of fluorinated composition near the surface, which was more remarkable with the synergism effect between the fluorine monomer and MAPTIPS. Additionally, the hydrophobicity and oleophobicity of the latex films exhibited high relevance with the fluorine/silicone monomer concentrations as well as the fluorinated side-chain structure.  相似文献

Preparation and characterization of a novel fluorinated acrylate resin   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The novel fluorinated acrylate resin was successfully prepared by solution polymerization of 2-(perfluoro-(1,1-bis-isopropyl)-2-propenyl)oxyethyl methacrylate (POMA) with butyl acrylate (BA), methyl methacrylate (MMA) and methacrylic acid (MAA) initiated by AIBN in the co-solvents of ethyl acetate, butyl alcohol and toluene. POMA was synthesized from the intermediate perfluoro nonene and 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate as the staring reactants. Films of the novel fluorinated acrylate resin were prepared by coating the resin directly on the clean glass sheet and allowed to dry at room temperature. The characteristics of the film such as hydrophobicity, glass transition temperature and thermal stability were characterized with the contact angle, differential scanning calorimetry and thermo-gravimetric analysis respectively. The structure of the novel fluorinated acrylate resin was investigated by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometry. The influences of the fluorine content on the performance of the acrylate resin were studied. Results show that the hydrophobicity, chemical resistance, glass transition temperature and thermal stability of the acrylate resin are improved when the fluorinated monomer is introduced to copolymerize with other monomers. However, the hydrophobicity of the fluorinated acrylate resin is improved slightly via annealing.  相似文献

Based on the solvent-free method, novel fluorinated polyurethane/polyacrylate hybrid emulsions, dodecafluoroheptyl methacrylate (DFMA) as fluorinated monomer, were successfully prepared via emulsion polymerization without traditional emulsifier. For the purpose of increasing the grafting ratio of polyurethane and polyacrylate, 60Co γ-ray radiation polymerization had been adopted to enhance the hardness of latex film. The chain structure and polymerization progress were confirmed by the analysis of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The grafting ratio of polymethyl methacrylate and polyurethane was obtained by calculating the ratio of N–H peak integral area and Ph(C=C) peak integral area. The effect of DFMA content on thermal stability, mechanical property and water resistance were investigated systematically by thermal weight loss analysis, tensile strength test, absorbed water ratio and water contact angle.  相似文献

Composite polyacrylate latex particles were prepared through a simple method by dissolving organosilicon monomer methyltrimethoxysilane in a monomer mixture of acrylic monomers methyl methacrylate (MMA), n‐butyl acrylate (n‐BA), and acrylic acid (AA). With the addition of water needed for hydrolysis, methyltrimethoxylsilane hydrolyzed under catalysis by AA and further condensed to form polymeric methylsilsesquioxane (MSQ). The monomer mixture containing in situ‐formed MSQ was then subjected to emulsification and emulsion polymerization. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images showed that the obtained latex particles had a core–shell structure. Differences between the X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) results of the contents of silicon atoms on surfaces of films formed at temperatures above and below glass transition temperatures (Tgs) of polyacrylate evidenced that the cores were made up of MSQ and the shells were made up of polyacrylate. The static water contact angle measurements indicated that the incorporation of MSQ can result in composite latex with higher hydrophobicity. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

选取十二烷基硫酸钠(SDS),辛基苯基聚氧乙烯醚(OP-10)为复合乳化剂,过硫酸钾(KPS)为引发剂,将2-(全氟己基)乙基甲基丙烯酸酯(PFM)与丙烯酸酯类单体采用预乳化-半连续种子乳液聚合法进行乳液共聚,再将羟基螺吡喃(SPOH)与乳液进行物理共混,制得光致变色含氟丙烯酸酯乳液。 通过多种表征手段研究丙烯酸正丁酯(n-BA)和甲基丙烯酸甲酯(MMA)软硬单体的质量比,SPOH的用量对聚合反应和乳胶膜性能的影响。 结果表明,加入含氟单体后乳胶膜与水、油的接触角提高,热稳定性提高;加入SPOH的质量分数为1.25%时,乳胶膜具有较好的光致变色性能。  相似文献

The emulsifier-free core–shell interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) fluorinated polyacrylate latex particles with fluorine rich in shell were prepared by emulsifier-free seeded emulsion polymerization with water as the reaction medium. The fluorinated copolymer could be fixed on the particle surface due to the formation of interpenetrating polymer network. The resultant core–shell particles were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), dynamic light scattering (DLS) analysis, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometry, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The core–shell particles possessed very narrow monomodal particle size distributions. XPS analysis of the latex film displayed that perfluoroalkyl groups had the tendency to enrich at surface and there was a gradient concentration of fluorine in the structure of the latex film from the film–air interface to the film–glass interface. In addition, compared with the latex film of crosslinked polyacrylate prepared under the same condition, the emulsifier-free core–shell IPN-fluorinated polyacrylate latex film showed better thermal stability, higher contact angle and lower water uptake.  相似文献

The trilayer core–shell polysilsesquioxane/polyacrylate/poly(fluorinated acrylate) (PSQ/PA/PFA) hybrid latex particles are successfully prepared, using functional PSQ latex particles with reactive methacryloxypropyl groups synthesized by the hydrolysis and polycondensation of (3-methacryloxypropyl)trimethoxysilane in the presence of a reactive emulsifier as seeds. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and dynamic light scattering (DLS) confirm that the resultant hybrid latex particles have evident trilayer core–shell structure and a narrow size distribution. The Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra show that fluorinated acrylate monomers are effectively involved in the emulsion copolymerization and formed the fluorine-containing hybrid latex particles. XPS analysis of the obtained hybrid latex film reveals that the intensity of fluorine signal in the film–air interface is higher than that in the film–glass interface. In addition, compared with pure polyacrylate latex film, the obtained fluorine-containing hybrid film shows higher hydrophobicity and thermal stability, and lower surface free energy.  相似文献

The new fluorinated acrylate emulsion was synthesized by using the intermediate perfluorous nonene and 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate as the staring reactants via semi-continuous seeded emulsion polymerization. The structures, glass transition temperature, thermal property and water repellency of the fluorinated acrylate emulsion were characterized with FTIR, differential scanning calorimetry, thermal analysis, and contact angle meter. Influences of many factors such as the theoretical solid content, the temperature of the emulsion polymerization on the stability of the emulsion polymerization, the added amount of emulsifiers and the added amount of the initiator were studied. Results show that the stability of the emulsion polymerization is fairly good when the theoretical solid content is below 30% and the reaction temperature is 80°C and the added amount of emulsifiers and the initiator are 6.0–8.0% and 2.0% respectively. In comparison with the acylate emulsion, the thermal stability of the fluorinated acrylate emulsion is decreased but the water repellency of the fluorinated acrylate emulsion is greatly increased.  相似文献

Heat-resistance ABS resin was synthesized by emulsion polymerization of N-p-tolylmaleimide (N-PTMI), butadiene–styrene latex (SB), AN and St. Thermal properties of terpolymers with different monomer ratio were characterized by DSC and TG. The molecular mass and molecular mass distribution of terpolymers were determined with GPC. The results shown the heat-resistance of terpolymers, the glass transition temperature and the decomposition temperature were increased with the increasing of N-PTMI feed content. With the increasing of AN feed content, the glass transition temperature of terpolymers decrease while the decomposition temperature increase. The glass transition temperature of terpolymers decrease with SB feed content and the product shows plastic properties when SB feed content is lower than 45 (m/m %).  相似文献

Novel self cross-linking fluorinated acrylic latex(SCLFAL) has been successfully prepared via starved seeded semi-batch emulsion polymerization.The resultant SCLFAL is characterized by Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectrometry.Contact angle (CA) and glass transition temperature(T_g) of the film are investigated.Results show that CA and T_g of the film can be improved when the moderate amount of HPMA is introduced into the mixed monomers.  相似文献

This work reports the morphology of two-phase latex particles prepared by semi-continuous seed emulsion polymerization of styrene in the presence of polar poly(methyl methacrylate), PMMA, seed particles, using different conditions of non-polar styrene feed rate, rate of initiation, seed particle concentration and temperature of polymerization.The expected latex particle morphology at thermodynamic equilibrium is an inverted core-shell structure where the non-polar polystyrene would form the core. However, depending on the set of process conditions used the morphology of the resulting two-phase particles varied from that of a pure core-shell structure, over intermediate structures in which a shell of PS surrounded a PMMA core containing an increasing number of PS phase domains, to a structure in which the entire PS phase was present as discrete PS phase domain, more or less evenly distributed in a matrix of PMMA.By the use of a caloirimetric reactor system the monomer concentration in the particles during the different polymerization experiments could be calculated by comparing the integral of the polymerization rate curve with the integral of the monomer feed rate. A comparison between particle morphology and the calculated concentration of plasticizing monomer in the polymerizing particles strongly suggested that the diffusivity of the entering oligo radicals determined by the difference between polymerization temperature and the glass transition temperature of the monomer-swollen core polymer is a key factor determining the morphology of two-phase particles prepared by semi-continuous seed emulsion polymerization.Two-phase particles with a true core-shell structure were obtained in experiments where the estimated glass transition temperature of the PMMA phase was only a few degrees below the polymerization temperature. The results show that such particles can be obtained under conditions of high as well as low styrene feed rates, provided that the rate of initiation is properly adjusted.  相似文献

Copolymer latices of butylacrylate (BA) with acrylic and methacrylic acid (AA and MAA) were prepared by batch type emulsion polymerization, and, for comparison, copolymers with identical monomer composition were prepared by batch type solution polymerization.The distribution of the carboxylic monomers in the latex particles and the serum was studied by density gradient and sedimentation experiments with the analytical ultracentrifuge. Dynamic mechanical measurements of films of these copolymers were used to determine the storage and loss moduli as a function of temperature. From these measurements the position and extension of the glass transition range on the temperature scale is obtained. For heterogeneous emulsion copolymers with two glass transition temperatures the distribution of the carboxylic monomer units in the different copolymer phases can be determined. Electron microscopy of ultra thin cross-sections of stained films gave further insight into the film morphology.The combination of the results obtained with the different methods gives rise to the following clues: In the BA/AA latices about 40% (by weight) of the total AA used in the recipe are found in the serum as a water soluble polymer, about 50% are found to increase the glass transition temperatureT g of the bulk of the BA copolymer and, therefore, are thought to be incorporated into the interior of the latex particles, and the remaining 10% are, conclusively, located on the particle surface.In the BA/MAA latices no water soluble copolymer could be detected in the serum, about 90% of the MAA used is found in the bulk of the copolymer, and about 10% form a second hard phase on the surface of the latex particles.Dynamic mechanical measurements on the copolymer latex films show at least two phases with different glass transition temperatures: the bulk of the copolymer with a relatively low content of (M)AA units and a glass transition range at low temperatures, and a second (M)AA rich phase with a highT g.The latter phase forms a honeycomb-like structure surrounding the packed latex particles. That results in a three-dimensional network of polymer with a highT g extending throughout the latex film. In spite of the fact that this phase is built from a small fraction of the total copolymer only, it has a very pronounced influence on the performance behaviour of latex films.Dedicated to Professor Dr. R. Emulsifier-free latices of fluorinated acrylate copolymers were prepared by semicontinuous polymerization method, with perfluoroalkylethyl methacrylate (Zonyl TM) as a fluoromonomer. Ultrasonic at 40 kHz was adopted to help monomers disperse well in water. The relationships of polymerization conditions between the final conversion and polymerization stability were discussed in detail and the optimal polymerization condition was given. A fluorinated acrylate copolymer was finally obtained and its Tg was 54 °C. The average particle size of the latex was about 601 nm and the particle size distribution of the latex was narrow. The latex film exhibited a low surface free energy and good surface property. By using 6% Zonyl TM, the water contact angle of the film-air interface increased significantly and reached to 110.2°. Compared with the latex film of fluorine-free polyacrylate prepared under the similar polymerization condition, the fluorinated latex film had a better water-resistance and thermal stability.  相似文献

The 2-acrylamido -2-methylpropane sulfonic acid (AMPS) was used as a reactive comonomer for the methyl methacrylate (MMA), n-butyl acrylate (BA) and 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate (HEA) emulsifier-free emulsion copolymerization system to obtain latices of stable and high-solid content (50 wt%).The polymerization and storage process is very stable, and the emulsion could store at room temperature for more than six months with the addition of AMPS. Properties of the latices, such as stability, flow behavior, particles diameter and morphology were studied. In addition, physical properties of the obtained copolymers, such as water resistance, glass transition temperature (Tg) were also investigated. The final size of the latex particles is 200~300 nm in diameter. Compared with the copolymers that were prepared by surfactant emulsion polymerization water resistance is greatly improved.  相似文献

通过对一次加料法、单体预乳化法及单体两段滴加法制备超微胶乳的比较,发现单体两段滴加法的反应过程相当稳定.单体两段滴加法中,当预加单体量小于30%时,聚合过程稳定,氨化剪切后超微胶乳透光率约65%;当聚合物含量超过34%时,超微胶乳体系呈凝胶状.对胶乳的氨化剪切过程进行优化,发现加氨量有一最佳值,此时超微胶乳既保持较高的透光率 (~65%),又具有较低的粘度 (~220cp).最后,通过"单体两段滴加法乳液聚合 氨化剪切"制备了聚合物含量约为32%、乳化剂含量约为1.2%、数均粒径约为63nm、粒径分布为1.17的丙烯酸酯超微胶乳.  相似文献

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)/polyacrylate core-shell nanoparticles were produced via the emulsifier-free seeded emulsion polymerization of acrylate monomers with PTFE latex as seed. The monomer conversions under different synthesis parameters were monitored by a gravimetric method. The polymerization conditions for preparing PTFE/polyacrylate core-shell nanoparticles were surveyed and optimized. The chemical component of the PTFE/polyacrylate particles was confirmed by comparing the Fourier-transform infrared spectra of PTFE and PTFE/polyacrylate particles. The core-shell structure of the resulting PTFE/polyacrylate nanocomposite particles was investigated by transmission electron microscopy. The water contact angles of the films prepared from PTFE/polyacrylate nanocomposite particles showed that the films were hydrophilic, which confirmed that polyacrylate covered the surface of the PTFE particles. This kind of PTFE/polyacrylate core-shell nanoparticles might advance the compatibility of PTFE with other materials due to the covering of the polyacrylate shell on the surface of PTFE, which would make them promising in various fields.  相似文献

A core–shell fluorine‐containing polyacrylate emulsion was successfully prepared by UV‐initiated seeded emulsion polymerization in two stages in the presence of two photoinitiators. The water‐soluble photoinitiator for the core polymerization and the oil‐soluble photoinitiator was used for the shell polymerization. Both of the two stage polymerizations could be completed within 15 min and displayed a conversion above 94%. The emulsion and the films were characterized by Fourier transformed infrared spectrometry, transmission electron microscopy, dynamic light scattering, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), contact angle (CA), and thermogravimetry analysis, respectively. The analysis results indicated that the fluorine‐containing latex particles had very small particle size (40 nm) with a core–shell structure and a narrow particle size distribution. XPS analysis revealed that a gradient concentration of fluorine excited in fluorine‐containing emulsion film from the film–air interface to the film–glass interface. In addition, the film formed from the fluorine‐containing emulsion exhibited not only higher thermal stability but also better hydrophobicity than that of the fluorine‐free emulsion.
