Syntheses and Structural Characterization of 1-（4-Phenyl-2-thiazolyl）-3-（4-methylphenyl）-5-（2-furyl）-4,5-dihydro-（1H）-pyrazole and 1-（4-（4-Fluoro）phenyl-2-thiazolyl）-3-（4-methyl-phenyl）-5-（2-furyl）-4,5-dihydro-（1H）-pyrazole

The title compounds were synthesized and characterized by IR,1H-NMR,Mass and elementary analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction.In 1a,intermolecular C-H…π interactions produce a three-dimensional network.In 1b,intermolecular C-H…O hydrogen bonds generate an R22(22) ring.The hydrogen bonding is supported by C-H…π interactions.

Synthesis of 2-(4-carboxybutenyl)- and 2-(4-carboxybutynyl)-cyclopentene-1-carboxamides

Syntheses of 2-(4-carboxybut-1-enyl/4-carboxypent-1-ynyl)cyclopentene-1-carboxamides, compounds designed to mimic the phosphoSer-Pro dipeptide motif (the recognition sequence for the prolyl cis-trans isomerase Pin1), have been developed. Stille, Sonogashira and Suzuki couplings were envisaged to join the pentynoic and pentenoic acid side chains to the 2-position of cyclopentene-1-carboxylate esters. The ring- and side-chain carboxylic acids required orthogonal protection for later attachment of a Ph-NH(4-nitrophenyl) unit to the cyclopentene-1-carbonyl. The cyclopentenecarboxylates were unmasked and standard PyBOP peptide coupling afforded the target compounds. Comparisons of two routes using Bu^t and Me esters are reported.     

Some reactions of 2-(4-substitutedphenyl)-2-(N-methyl-N-4-substitutedbenzamido) acetic acids

In situ generated 2,4-diaryl substituted münchnones from 2-(4-substitutedphenyl)-2-(N-methyl-N-4-substitutedbenzamido)acetic acids react with acetic anhydride in the presence of 2-nitromethylene thiazolidine, which is most likely acting as a base, and unexpectedly undergo a Dakin–West type reaction and a concurrent autoxidation reaction leading to the formation of (E)-1-(N,4-dimethylbenzamido)-1-(4-fluorophenyl)prop-1-en-2-yl acetate, 4-substitutedphenyl-N-methyl-N-(4-substitutedbenzoyl) benzamides and p-substituted benzoic acids. In addition, a novel and efficient access to N-acyl urea derivatives is described by the reaction between 2-(4-substitutedphenyl)-2-(N-methyl-N-4-substitutedbenzamido)acetic acids and cyclohexyl, isopropyl carbodiimides in the presence of a base. The structures of all new products were identified on the basis of NMR and IR spectra, along with X-ray diffraction data and HRMS measurements.
