 从瑞利-索末菲衍射积分公式出发,推导出径向阵列非傍轴离轴椭圆高斯光束相干合成和非相干合成在自由空间中的解析传输公式,给出其远场分布和傍轴表示式。研究表明:合成光束的光强分布与f参数、径向阵列半径、光束数、传输距离和合成方式有关;N束光相干合成和非相干合成在远场的光强最大值分别为单光束在远场最大值的N2和N倍。  相似文献

研究了湍流对离轴列阵高斯光束相干与非相干合成的影响.推导出了相干合成光束的传输方程.采用二阶矩束宽、桶中功率和参数β作为光束质量评价参数比较了离轴列阵高斯光束通过湍流大气的相干与非相干合成,并对主要结果给予了合理的物理解释.研究表明:一方面,不论是相干合成还是非相干合成,湍流都使得合成光束扩展、峰值光强下降,并且子光束数越多,合成光束受湍流影响就越小.另一方面,非相干合成光束较相干合成光束受到湍流的影响要小. 关键词: 相干与非相干合成 湍流大气 离轴列阵高斯光束  相似文献

We have explored a method to reduce turbulence-induced scintillation by using an incoherent beam array composed of beamlets with nonuniform polarization. It is shown that significant scintillation reduction of such an incoherent beam array can be obtained by using nonuniformly polarized beamlets whose scintillation properties are optimized.  相似文献

The concept of coherent and incoherent combinations of partially coherent beams is described and interpreted physically. Taking the Gaussian Schell-model (GSM) beam as a typical example of a partially coherent beam, the analytical propagation expressions for the coherent and incoherent combinations of GSM beams beyond the paraxial approximation are derived and illustrated numerically. Based on the Collins integral formula, the analytic expressions of propagation of the coherent and the incoherent off-axis Hermite--cosh--Gaussian (HChG) beam combinations with rectangular symmetry passing through a paraxial first-order optical system are derived, and corresponding numerical examples are given and analysed. The resulting beam quality is discussed in terms of power in the bucket (PIB). The study suggests that the resulting beam cannot keep the initial intensity shape during the propagation and the beam quality for coherent mode is not always better than that for incoherent mode. Reviewing the numerical simulations of Gaussian, Hermite--Gaussian (HG) and cosh--Gaussian (ChG) beam combinations indicates that the Hermite polynomial exerts a chief influence on the irradiance profile of composite beam and far field power concentration.  相似文献

The intensity fluctuation of a partially coherent laser beam array is examined. For this purpose, the on-axis scintillation index at the receiver plane is analytically formulated via the extended Huygens–Fresnel diffraction integral in conditions of weak atmospheric turbulence. The effects of the propagation length, number of beamlets, radial distance, source size, wavelength of operation and coherence level on the scintillation index are investigated for a horizontal propagation path. It is found that, regardless of the number of beamlets, the scintillation index always rises with an increasing propagation length. If laser beam arrays become less coherent, the scintillation index begins to fall with growing source sizes. Given the same level of partial coherence, slightly less scintillations will occur when the radial distance of the beamlets from the origin is increased. At partial coherence levels, lower scintillations are observed for larger numbers of beamlets. Both for fully and partially coherent laser beam arrays, scintillations will drop on increasing wavelengths.  相似文献

Taking the off-axis astigmatic Gaussian beam combination as an example, the beam-combination concept is extended to the nonparaxial regime. The closed-form propagation expressions for coherent and incoherent combinations of nonparaxial off-axis astigmatic Gaussian beams with rectangular geometry are derived and illustrated with numerical examples. It is shown that the intensity distributions of the resulting beam depend on the combination scheme and beam parameters in general, and in the paraxial approximation (i.e., for the small f-parameter) our results reduce to the paraxial ones.  相似文献

The coherent and incoherent scattering cross sections of Infrared Laser Gaussian beam scattering from arbitrarily shaped convex dielectric objects with rough surfaces are investigated by using plane wave spectrum method and physical optics approximation. In the paper, the infrared laser scattering cross sections of rough sphere are calculated at 10.6 m , and the influence of the beam size, permittivity, and polarization as well as roughness parameters is analyzed numerically. When the beam size is much larger than the size of object, the results in the paper can reduce to those of an incident plane wave. On the other hand, for the case of roughness statistical parameter close to zero, only the forward scattering has a parent difference compared with the result of gaussian beam scattering from smooth sphere.  相似文献

We present a proposal to generate an optical vortex beam by using the coherent-superposition of multi-beams in a radially symmetric configuration. In terms of the generalized Huygens-Fresnel diffraction integral, we have derived the general propagation expression for the coherent radial arrays of laser beams. Using the derived formulae, we have analyzed the effects of the beamlet number N, the separation distance ρ of the beamlets and the topological charge m on the intensity and phase distributions of the resultant beams. Our simulation results show that optical vortices could be efficiently generated due to the coherent-superposition effect of all beamlets, during the propagation process of the coherent radial array of laser beams with the initial well-organized phase distributions through the free space. In the focusing system, the resultant beam near the focusing plane has the strong rotational effect with the phase helicity.  相似文献

We investigate the polarization structure of coherent light, produced by a convergent light beam transmitted through nematic liquid crystal (NLC) cells with different director configurations. Employing solutions to the transmission problem for the case when plane wave propagates through an anisotropic layer, we analyze the arrangement of the topological elements, such as polarization singularities (C points with circular polarization and L lines with linear polarization), saddle points and extrema of polarization azimuth. We observe transformations of the topological structure under the variation of the incident light ellipticity and represent it by corresponding trajectories of topological elements in three-dimensional space. For the cells with uniform and non-uniform director configuration we describe the processes of creation/annihilation of C point pairs, which can be controlled precisely in the case of the cell with non-uniform director. Our experimental measurements for the homeotropically oriented NLC cells are in good agreement with the theoretical predictions.  相似文献

基于广义的Huygens-Fresnel原理和非Kolmogorov谱模型,推导了无线光通信系统中径向分布部分相干高斯-谢尔模型阵列光束在非Kolmogorov大气湍流中传输时瑞利区间z_R和湍流距离z_T的解析表达式,对瑞利区间和湍流距离随湍流参量和光束参量的变化情况进行了数值分析.结果表明:不论是相干还是非相干合成,径向分布部分相干高斯-谢尔模型阵列光束的z_R和z_T均随湍流广义指数α的增大非单调变化,当α=3.11时,z_R和z_T取最小值,此时阵列光束扩展最大;相干合成比非相干合成的光束扩展要小,但其受湍流的影响更大;对于相干合成而言,径向分布半径r0越大,合成光束的z_R和z_T就越大,而非相干合成的z_R和z_T不受r0的影响;不论是相干还是非相干合成,阵列子光束数目对合成光束的z_R和z_T没有影响;当光束相干参量β足够小或波长λ足够大时,大气湍流对阵列光束z_R的影响可以忽略.  相似文献

Beam combining of fiber array with hexagonal ring distribution is studied in detail. The theoretical analysis and numerical calculation results are given to illustrate the propagation properties of the resulting beam through free space. A comparison between the coherent and the incoherent case shows that high peak irradiance and good beam quality for coherent combining can be obtained in the far field. The effect of phase errors and the beam quality M2 factor are also studied. Results indicate that the element numbers should be increased to achieve high power and the space between adjacent elements should be reduced to maintain good beam quality, which is basically the same for both coherent and incoherent beam combining.  相似文献

We consider the problem of backscattering of light by a layer of discrete random medium illuminated by an obliquely incident plane electromagnetic wave. The multiply scattered reflected radiation is assumed to consist of incoherent and coherent parts, the coherent part being caused by the interference of multiply scattered waves. Formulas describing the characteristics of the reflected radiation are derived assuming that the scattering particles are spherical. The formula for the incoherent contribution reproduces the standard vector radiative transfer equation. The interference contribution is expressed in terms of a system of Fredholm integral equations with kernels containing Bessel functions. The special case of the backscattering direction is considered in detail. It is shown that the angular width of the backscattering interference peak depends on the polar angle of the incident wave and on the azimuth angle of the reflection direction.  相似文献

The scattering of an electromagnetic wave from a random cylindrical surface ir studied for a plane-wave incidence with S-(TE) polarization, by means ofthe stochastic scattering theory developed by Nakayama, Ogura. Sakati et al. The theory is based on the Wiener-Ito stochastic functional calculus combined with the group-theoretic consideration concerning the homogeneity of the random surface. The random surface is assumed to be a homogeneous Gaussian random field on the cylinder C, homogeneous with respect to the group of motiolrs on C: translations along the axis and rotations around the axis. An operator D operating on a random field on C is introduced in such a way that D keeps the homogeneous random surface invariant This gives a reprerentation of the cylbdrical group and commutes with the boundary condition and the Maxwell equation. Thus, for an injection of the mth cylindrical TE or TM wave, which is a vector eigenfunction of the D operator, the scattered random wave field is an eigenfunctiou with the same eigenvalue: it satisfies the Maxwell equation and is a stoch-tic Iunctional of the Gaussian random surface, BO that it can be expressed in a vector form of the Wiener-Ito expansion in t e m of TE and TM waves and orthogonal functional. of the Gaussian random measures associated with the random cylindrical surface. In the analysis the random surface is modelled by an approximate boundaiy condition representing a perfectly conducting cylindrical surface with a slight roughness. The boundary condition on the random cylinder is transformed into a hierarchy of equations for the Wiener kernels which can be solved approximately. The random wave field for a plane-wave injection is obtained by summing these fields over m. From the stochastic representation of the electromagnetic field so obtained, various statistical characteristics can be calculated the coherent scattering amplitude. total coherent power flow, incoherent power flow, differential sections for coherent rcatlerhig and incoherent scattering, etc. The power conservation law is cast into a stochastic electromagnetic version of the optical theorem stating that the total scatteiing cross section is given by the imaginary part of the forward coherent scattering amplitude. Numerical calculations are made for a planewave injection with S-(TE) polarization. The case of p-(TM) polarization can be treated in a similar manner.  相似文献

提出部分相干合成的概念,论证了谱线宽度和偏振特性并不是影响高功率光纤激光部分相干合成的瓶颈.与完全相干合成的理想情形相比,随着光束线宽的增大,部分相干合成光束的远场光斑图样基本保持不变,但峰值强度和斯特尔(Strehl)比随之减小,光斑能量越来越分散.利用数值计算的方法对部分相干合成与非相干合成光束的远场效果进行了比较分析.计算结果表明,尽管线宽的存在降低了部分相干合成的效果,但与非相干合成相比,部分相干合成的光束仍具有较大优势.  相似文献

Taking phase error, turbulent atmosphere, jitter, vacancy factor and tilt error into consideration, we propose a general propagation formula for both coherent and incoherent combined beams with different kinds of aberrations. Comparative study on the propagation performance of coherent and incoherent combined beams is presented. Beam propagation factor (BPF) defined as laser output power in a specified far-field bucket divided by the total output power radiating from the effective near-field exit aperture of the laser beam is introduced as the beam quality factor to give a quantitative study. It is revealed that the coherent combined beam has great advantage when propagating in free-space compared with the incoherent combined beams. However, the coherent combined beam is more sensitive to the environmental aberrations, and the beam quality degrades faster with an increase in the aberrations’ intensity. Scintillation index as the high moments of the combined intensity field is also studied. It is revealed that both coherent and incoherent combined beams exhibit less scintillations compared with a single-aperture beam, and the incoherent combined beam demonstrates better scintillations reducing the performance. Our methodology offers an all-round performance evaluation on the two kinds of laser systems.  相似文献

根据广义惠更斯-菲涅尔衍射积分方法,推导出按矩形方式排布的部分相干高斯-谢尔模型阵列光束的光谱传输公式,定量分析了部分相干高斯-谢尔模型阵列光束在自由空间传输时轴上和离轴相对谱移的变化,并详细讨论了阵列参数和子光束的空间相干参数对相对谱移的影响。结果表明,部分相干高斯-谢尔模型阵列光束通过自由空间传输后,其相对谱移与光源处的谱密度、子光束的空间相干参数以及子光束数目和子光束间距等阵列参数有关,其中,阵列参数对相对谱移的影响非常显著。  相似文献

Analytical expressions for the effective radius of curvature, R, of Hermite–Gaussian (H–G) array beams propagating in free space for both coherent and incoherent combinations are derived. It is shown that for the two types of beam combination a minimum of the effective radius of curvature, Rmin, appears as the propagation distance z increases. For the coherent combination, R is larger than that for the incoherent combination. The position zmin where the effective radius of curvature reaches its minimum is further away from the source plane for the coherent combination than that for the incoherent combination. For the two types of beam combination, R and zmin increase with increasing beam number, increasing beam separation distance, increasing waist width, and decreasing beam order and wavelength. In particular, the R of single H–G beams is always smaller than that of H–G array beams; the R of Gaussian array beams is always larger than that of H–G array beams.  相似文献
