A novel method has been developed for the solvent extraction of tin(IV) from 8 M hydrochloric acid with 4% N‐n‐octylaniline. Tin(IV) from the organic phase was determined spectrophotometrically with pyrocatechol violet at 550 nm. Extraction was found to be quantitative in the range of 7–10 M hydrochloric acid. When the concentration of N‐n‐octylaniline was varied from 0.05–20% in xylene, it showed that optimum concentration was > 3%. Amongst diluents like benzene and xylene, toluene was found to be an effective diluent. Effect of shaking time, concentration of metal ion, and salting out agents was studied. Tolerance limits of various diverse ions were determined by masking interfering cations. Tin(IV) was separated from associated elements in its binary mixture with Se(IV), Sb(III), Bi(III), Pb(II), Au(III), Cu(II) and Zn(II) and from its ternary mixtures with Sb(III), Bi(III) and Cu(II), Au(III). The proposed method was applied for separation and determination of tin(IV) in tin bearing alloys and foodstuffs.  相似文献

Studies on the fractional sublimation of various metal β-diketone chelates have been extended to include the chelates of thenoyltrifluoroacetone (TTA). Many of the common metal chelates were found to be stable, to sublime readily, and to form well-defined zones in the vacuum fractional sublimator. Of the 17 chelates reported only those of manganese (II) and iron(II) were not volatile. The chelates of UO2(II), Zr(IV), Pb(II), and Cr(III) partially decomposed during sublimation and their recovery was incomplete. The recovery of the sublimed chelates of Ni(II), Mg(II), Al(III), Pd(II), Co(II), Cu(II). Fe(III), Tl(III), Zn(II) and Be(II) ranged from 87 to 100%, with most recoveries being quantitative. The sublimation recrystallization zone temperatures of the various chelates are compared to those of the metal acetylacetonates and the benzoyltrifluoroacetonates; in general, the metal chelates of TTA sublime more readily than those of benzoyltrifluoroacetone but are potentially less useful for fractional sublimation separations than the corresponding metal acetylacetonates. Even so, a quantitative separation of iron(III) from Ni(II), Al(III), Mn(II), and Fe(II) is proposed that depends upon the fractional sublimation of the TTA chelates.  相似文献

Summary Oximidobenzotetronic acid (OBTA) is proposed as a sensitive spectrophotometric reagent for the estimation of 0.5–3.0 ppm of copper(II) at 427 nm in 50% dioxan at pH 5.3–7.5. For the estimation of 2 ppm Cu(II), 1.3 ppm Ni(II), 1.3 ppm Co(II), 3.2 ppm Fe(II), 10.3 ppm Fe(III), 9.7 ppm Ce(IV), 300 ppm acetate, 160 ppm oxalate, 95 ppm tartrate, 50 ppm citrate, as well as Zn(II), Cd(II), Hg(II)) Pb(II), Mn(II), As(III) as well as (V), Th(IV), Be(II), Ce(III), La(III), V(V) and Mo(VI), even when present in large quantities, do not interfere. The interference due to 25 ppm Bi(III), 20 ppm Sb(III), 20 ppm Sn(II), 25 ppm Sn(IV) and 30 ppm W(VI) can be removed by the addition of 95 ppm tartrate ions.

The ion flotation of 31 metal ions in hydrochloric/nitric acid solution with the cationic surfactant cetylpyridinium chloride was investigated. A 25-ml portion of 0.27-2.87 x 10(-4)M metal ion and 1.8-6.0 x 10(-4)M cetylpyridinium chloride solution in 0.17-3.4M acid mixture ([HCl]:[HNO(3)] = 2.4:1) was subjected to flotation in a cell, 22.5 cm high and 4.0 cm in diameter, for 5 min, with nitrogen bubbles. Ir(IV), Pt(IV), Ge(IV), Sn(IV), Bi(III), Au(III), Tl(III), Pd(II) and Sn(II) were floated from solution in 95-100% yield; Ru(III), Rh(III), Ir(III), Hg(II), Ag(I) and Tl(I) were partly floated, while Cr(VI), Ti(IV), Zr(IV), Ga(III), In(III), Fe(III), Sb(III), Al(III), Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), CD(II) and Pb(II) were floated with less than 20% yield. The flotation behaviour of these metal ions in the mixed acid system was compared with that in hydrochloric acid. The flotation is more efficient in the mixed acid system.  相似文献

Abstract

A spectromeric study of the reaction of the Zr(IV) ions with Mandelazo I was carried out. Absorption spectra revealed that the maximum absorption of the zirconium compound appears at a wavelength (316 nm) different from the maxima of the reagent (253 and 390 nm). Beer-Lambert law is followed for zirconium concentrations of the order of 8.8x 10?5 M (i.e. 8 μg Zr (IV)/mL). Possible interferences of ions such as Be(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Al(III), Th(IV), U(VI), Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II) and Ni(II) were investigated in connection with some masking agents such as SO4 2- and C2O4 2-. Also, the solid state Zr(IV)-Mandelazo I compound was prepared and characterized by nitrogen and thermogravimetric analyses.  相似文献

2,5-(Dibenzothiazolin-2-yl)thiophene has been synthesized by the reaction of 2,5-thiophenedicarboxaldehyde and o-aminobenzenethiol. It reacts as a neutral ligand with Pd(II). However, it reacts as a dianion with Cu(II), Ag(I), Cd(II), Pb(II) and Zn(II), suggesting that the ligand is bonded as the conjugate base of the Schiff base 2,5-thiophenediylbis{N-(pheylen-2-thiol)aldimine}. Its behavior with Hg(II), Ru(III), Pt(II), Rh(III) and Ni(II) involves the opening of one of the thiazoline rings of the ligand.  相似文献

Gallium can be separated from Zn, Cu(II), In, Cd, Pb(II), Bi(III), Au(III), Pt(IV), Pd(II), Tl(III), Sn(IV) and Fe(III) by elution of these elements with 0.50M hydrobromic acid in 80% acetone medium, from a column of AG50W-X4 cation-exchange resin. Gallium is retained and can be eluted with 3M hydrochloric acid. Separations are sharp and quantitative except for iron(III) which shows extensive tailing. With 0.20M hydrobromic acid in 80% acetone as eluting agent, all the species above except iron(III) and copper(II) can be separated from gallium with very large separation factors. Only a 1-g resin column and small elution volumes are required to separate trace amounts and up to 0.5 mmole of gallium from more than 1 g of zinc or the other elements. Hg(II), Rh(III), Ir(IV), Se(IV), Ge(IV), As(III) and Sb(III) have not been investigated, but should be separated together with zinc according to their known distribution coefficients. Relevant elution curves, results for the analysis of synthetic mixtures and for amounts of some elements remaining in the gallium fraction are presented.  相似文献

Summary A simple method for the preparation of immobilized -diketone chelates on silica gel, controlled pore glass as well as chemically modfied -diketone filter papers is described. This support material shows complexing affinity only for Cu(II), UO2(II) and Fe(III) and no significant affinity is observed for Ni(II), Co(II), Zn(II), Mg(II), Ca(II), La(III), Th(IV), etc. Effect of pH, time and complexing agents on the extraction of UO2(II) is investigated. Exchange capacities, desorption studies as well separation of UO2(II) from Cu(II), La(III), and Th(IV) were conducted. The distribution coefficients determined in presence of 0.5 M NaCl for UO2(II) is of the order of > 104 as compared with > 102 for Cu(II) and Fe(III), indicating its potential application as a preconcentration aid for UO2(II) ion from sea water and natural waters.Paper presented at Euroanalysis III, Dublin, Ireland 1978 (20th–25th August)  相似文献

The sorption behavior of a newly synthesized silica gel sorbent with thioetheric sites (STS) towards microgram levels of Au(III), Pt(IV) and Pd(II) was studied. Au(III) is quantitatively (>95%) sorbed in the pH region of 1–9. The sorption of Pt(IV) starts at pH 1 and does not exceed 25% in the entire pH region examined. The sorption of Pd(II) starts at pH 7 and reaches 80% at pH 9. The sorption of Au(III) on STS at pH 1 is not affected by milligram amounts of Ni(II), Zn(II), Fe(III), Cu(II), Pb(II), Cd(II) or Co(II). Au(III) is quantitatively eluted with a 5% aqueous solution of thiourea. The adsorption capacity of STS towards Au(III) is 195 mg g−1. The detection limit (DL) of Au(III) (3σ, n = 9) is 25 ng mL−1. The RSD at a level of 10 × DL is about 2%. Solid-phase extraction of trace amounts of Au(III) on the STS sorbent, followed by its flame AAS determination in the eluate was applied to the determination of gold in geological samples. The results obtained for the gold content in the samples were in good agreement with those of the ICP-AES analysis.  相似文献

Abstract

The stepwise metal-ligand stability constants of tetracycline and oxytetraoycline chelates with Mg(II), Cr(III), Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Zr(II) and Sn(II) have been determined using the Bjerrum-Calvin titration technique as employed by Irving and Rossotti. Protonation constant of the ligand and stability constants of the respective metal complexes have been determined at constant temperature (25°C) and ionic strength (0.1 M KCl). The general order of overall stability constant values have been found to be: Zr(IV) > Fe(III) > Co(II) > Zn(II) > Mg(II) > Mn(II) > Ni(II) > Sn(II) > Tn(II) > Cr(II). The rign values of the atability constanta are attricutel to the Ligands, which are stronger as an acid and weaser as a oase.  相似文献

Indium can be separated from Zn, Pb(II), Ga, Ca, Be, Mg, Ti(IV), Mn(II), Fe(III), Al, U(VI), Na, Ni(II) and Co(II) by selective elution with 0.50M hydrochloric acid in 30% aqueous acetone from a column of AG50W-X8 cation-exchange resin, all the other elements being retained by the column. Lithium is included in the elements retained by the column when 0.35M hydrochloric acid in 45% aqueous acetone is used for eluting indium, but the elution of indium is slightly retarded. Ba, Sr, Zr, Hf, Th, Sc, Y, La and the lanthanides, Rb and Cs should also be retained according to their distribution coefficients. Cd, Bi(III), Au(III), Pt(IV), Pd(II), Rh(III), Mo(VI) and W(VI) can be eluted with 0.20M hydrobromic acid in 50% aqueous acetone before the elution of indium, and Ir(III), Ir(IV), As(III), As(V), Se(IV), Tl(III), Hg(II), Ge(IV), Sb(III) and Sb(V), though not investigated in detail, should accompany these elements. Relevant distribution coefficients and elution curves and results for analyses of synthetic mixtures of indium with other elements are presented.  相似文献

In this study, a new aqueous insoluble ionic β-cyclodextrin polymer (PYR), synthesized by reaction of β-cyclodextrin with pyromellitic anhydride [1], is characterized by IR spectroscopy, showing typical cyclodextrin and carboxylic absorptions. pH-metric titrations of the acidic functions with standard NaOH solutions followed by a refinement of protonation constants, with specific software for equilibrium in solution, have been performed. Through this approach, the pK a values of the functional groups have been calculated. The complexation capabilities of PYR towards metal ions [Al(III), Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Pd(II), Cd(II), Pt(IV), Tl(I), and U(IV)] have been evaluated in aqueous solution (pH 3–5). The retention is mainly pH dependent and higher than 70% for Al(III), Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Pd(II), Cd(II) and U(IV). For Tl(I) and Pt(IV) the retention is about 60% and 40% respectively.  相似文献

The chloroform extraction of 32 elements (Fe, Co, Ni, Zn, Cd, Ge, Sn, Pb, V, As, Sb, Bi, Cu, Ag, Au, Mn, Re, Ga, In, Tl, Ce, Se, Te, Cr, Mo, U, Pt, Pd, Rh, Ir, Ru and Os) from O.1-10M hydrochloric acid media in the presence of potassium ethyl xanthate has been studied. The oxidation states in which some elements react, and potential analytical separations, are discussed. Pd(II), As(III) and Se(IV) are completely extracted as ethyl xanthate complexes, Te(IV) is almost completely extracted, and Au(III) is largely extracted over the range of acid concentration investigated. Mn(II), Zn, Rh(III), Ir(IV), Ru(III), Os(IV), Cr(III), Cr(VI), Ce(III) and Ce(IV) are not extracted. Ge is partly extracted from 6-10M media as the chloro-complex. Depending on the acid concentration, the remaining elements are all partially extracted as xanthate complexes.  相似文献

The adsorption characteristics for 43 metals on a strongly basic ion-exchange resin Bio-Rad AG1 were examined in 0.5 M hydrazoic acid solution. The distribution coefficients for V(IV), Fe(III), Cu(II), Zn, Se(IV), Mo(VI), Pd(II), Cd, In(III), Rc(VII), Hg(II) and U(VI), which showed very strong adsorption except for Cd, were measured as a function of hydrazoic acid concentration over the range 0.05–0.5 M. Favorable differences in the distribution coefficients allow useful two- and three-component separations such as Co(II)-Fe(III), As(III)-V(IV), Cd-Zn, Cd- Hg(II), Te(IV)-Se(IV), Th-U(VI), Mn(II)-Mo(VI)-Re(VII), to be achieved on a small column.  相似文献

Oximidobenzotetronic acid is recommended for the separation and gravimetric determination of palladium and cobalt An ethanolic solution of the reagent quantitatively precipitates palladium(II) from solutions which are 0.75 N in acid up to pH 5.1, the complex is weighed as Pd(C9H5NO4)2. Cobalt(II) can be determined in the filtrate after the precipitation of palladium. With 0.5 N acid solutions, no interference was found from Pt(IV), Ir(IV), Rh(III), Ru(III), Os(IV), Au(III), Ag(I), Cu(II), Fe(III), Ni(II), Hg(II).
