We have studied the spontaneous emission behaviour in a five-level M-type atom driven by two optical fields of high frequencies and a microwave field of low-frequency. In absence of non-orthogonal decaying pathways, due to microwave field induced low-frequency coherence, the present model produces the emission spectrum resembling that of a three-level system controlled by the effect of vacuum induced decay-interference. For particular sets of values of the Rabi frequencies of the resonant coherent fields, the system exhibits quantum interference induced switching effect. By using this model, we have shown that the phenomenon of narrowing can be induced in the emission peaks without any detuning and phase control of the coherent fields. With the increase in the value of the Rabi frequency of the microwave field, this feature will be accompanied by the peak-compression and -repulsion effect. When the coherent fields are far from resonance, the appearance of the single-photon and the two-photon peaks in the emission spectrum can be easily controlled by changing the value of the Rabi frequency of the microwave field. We have shown the appearance of multiple dark regions in the emission line shape for equal as well as unequal decay rates of two emission pathways. Other interesting phenomena like elimination, enhancement and suppression of spectral line are also explored in various resonant and non-resonant cases.  相似文献

We study the interaction between a moving two-level atom and a single-mode field. The coupled atom-cavity system with atomic center-of-mass motion included is modeled by considering the dependence of the atomic motion along z-axis. At exact resonance between the internal atomic transition and the cavity eigenfrequency, an exact solution of the system is obtained and periodically modulated Rabi oscillations and regular translational motion are observed. We focused on the dynamics of both field Wehrl entropy and Wehrl phase distribution. The influence of the atomic motion on the evolution of von Neumann entropy and Wehrl entropy is examined. The results show that the atomic motion and the field-mode structure play important roles in the evolution of the von Neumann entropy, Wehrl entropy and Wehrl PD.  相似文献

We consider a two-level system (TLS) with energy level separation plankvOmega0 inside a Josephson junction. The junction is shunted by a resistor R and is voltage V biased. If the TLS modulates the Josephson energy and/or is optically active, it is Rabi driven by the Josephson oscillations in the running phase regime near the resonance 2eV=plankvOmega0. The Rabi oscillations, in turn, translate into oscillations of current and voltage that can be detected in noise measurements. This effect provides an option to fully characterize the TLS inside Josephson junction and to find the TLS's contribution to the decoherence when the junction is used as a qubit.  相似文献

In this paper,we propose a scheme to achieve a multiphonon-resonance quantum Rabi model and adiabatic passage in a strong-coupling cavity optomechanical system.In the scheme,when the driving bichromatic laser beam is adjusted to the off-resonant j-order red-and blue-sideband,the interaction between the cavity and mechanical oscillator leads to a j-phonon resonance quantum Rabi model.Moreover,we show that there exists a resonant multi-phonon coupling via intermediate states connected by counter-rotating processes when the frequency of the simulated bosonic mode is near a fraction of the transition frequency of the simulated two-level system.As a typical example,we theoretically analyze the two-phonon resonance quantum Rabi model,and derive an effective Hamiltonian of the six-phonon coupling.Finally,we present a method of six-phonon generation based on adiabatic passage across the resonance.Numerical simulations confirm the validity of the proposed scheme.Theoretically,the proposed scheme can be extended to the realization of 3j-phonon state.  相似文献

The coherence times of dopant pentavalent chromium ions in CaWO? single crystal (0.0006at.% Cr(5+)) were investigated both theoretically and experimentally. Temperature dependences of spin-lattice relaxation time T? and phase memory time T(M) were measured in the temperature range 6-30 K at high (94 GHz, W band) and low (3.5 GHz, S band) frequencies of electron spin resonance. It follows from T(M) calculations that phase relaxation of Cr(5+) ion arises mainly from magnetic dipole interactions between the chromium ions. Anomalously fast damping of Rabi oscillations is detected in both S- and W-band experiments. It is shown that this phenomenon is caused by microwave field inhomogeneity inside the resonator. Relations between the damping time of Rabi oscillations, Rabi frequency and the crystal sample size are obtained. Lumped-element resonators and smaller sample dimensions are suggested to lower spin dephasing during transient nutations.  相似文献

We propose a theoretical scheme to determine the vacuum Rabi splitting in a single semiconductor quantum dot (SQD) induced by a metal nanoparticle (MNP). Based on cavity quantum electrodynamics, the exciton-plasmon interaction between the SQD and the MNP is considered while a strong pump laser and a weak probe laser are simultaneously presented. By decreasing the distance between them, we can increase the coupling strength. At resonance, thanks to the strong coupling, a vacuum Rabi splitting can be observed clearly in the probe absorption spectrum. The coupling strength can be obtained by measuring the vacuum Rabi splitting. This strong coupling is significant for the investigation of surface-plasmon-based quantum information processing.  相似文献

We investigate ultrafast coherent population transfer driven by few-cycle pump and Stokes laser pulses in the Λ-type three-level system with the stimulated Raman adiabatic passage technique beyond the rotating-wave approximation. In contrast to the case with the rotating wave approximation, the most efficient population transfer may be realized without the satisfaction of the one-photon resonances or two-photon resonance and the transfer efficiency depends critically on the Rabi frequencies and initial optical phases of the two laser fields when the peak Rabi frequencies are much larger than the respective transition frequencies. Moreover, complete and robust population transfer can still be obtained with the variations of the Rabi frequencies, pulse durations, and one-photon or two-photon detuning in a moderate range, though a considerable transient population may reside in the excited state. These abnormal behaviors result from the counterrotating terms, which are not taken into account in the traditional rotating wave approximation.  相似文献

The effect of the finite temperature of the reservoir on the phase bistability in the fundamental model of quantum optics is studied based on the Q distribution function calculated numerically and on the P distribution function obtained analytically in the case of large Rabi frequencies. The condition for the appearance of the phase bistability in a system with allowance for thermal excitations of the reservoir is obtained.  相似文献

We demonstrate that the temporal pulse phase remains essentially unaltered before separate phase characteristics are developed when propagating high-intensity pulses coherently on the exciton resonance of an optically thick semiconductor. This behavior is a clear manifestation of self-induced transmission and pulse breakup into soliton-like pulses due to Rabi flopping of the carrier density. Experiments using a novel fast-scan cross-correlation frequency-resolved optical gating (XFROG) method are in good agreement with numerical calculations based on the semiconductor Bloch equations.  相似文献

在以三个电偶极跃迁构成简并N型四能级系统中,利用密度矩阵方程计算了介质对探测场的吸收,研究了激光场拉比相位对吸收的影响.结果表明:介质对探测场的吸收和放大取决于控制场和信号场的拉比相位,且吸收和放大随控制场、信号场的拉比相位改变而作周期性变化,周期为2π;而探测场的拉比相位变化对吸收没有影响.同时,控制场、信号场拉比相位对吸收的影响是相同的,而且拉比相位主要影响原子相干,对原子布居影响不大.  相似文献

We study theoretically the coherent pump-probe intersubband response of a multiple quantum well (MQW) embedded in a semiconductor microcavity. An n-type doped MQW structure with two subbands in the conduction band is considered. Self-consistent numerical calculations are performed for realistic systems employing a semiclassical approach based on the transfer matrix formalism and the so-called sheet model. They show that in the strong coupling limit the pumping of the system leads to evolution of the intersubband cavity polariton doublet into a Mollow-type spectrum. By using appropriate angles, both the pump and the probe light can be tuned into resonance with the cavity mode. In this double-resonance case, simultaneously with a dramatic enhancement of the Rabi flopping frequency, a strong selective enhancement of distinct parts of the Rabi sidebands is possible.  相似文献

研究了压缩真空中梯形三能级原子在单色行波场中的辐射压力。从系统的哈密顿量出发,利用玻因-马尔可夫近似,推导出了原子的光学布洛赫方程。此时用数值方法求得布洛赫方程的稳态解,然后用图示法考察了原子的辐射压力随双光子失谐、拉比频率、自发发射率等参量的依赖关系。结果表明:单光子跃迁和双光子跃迁可导致辐射压力出现各自的多普勒位移共振峰;辐射压力表现出较宽的失谐范围且强烈依赖于压缩参量以及压缩真空和相干光之间的相位关系。当相位满足匹配条件时,辐射压力减小。  相似文献

We investigate the optical Rabi oscillations in a dual-mode slab waveguide that undergoes a spatial–temporal refractive index modulation. Frequency conversion is induced during Rabi oscillations since dynamic modulation is employed. We also show that the contrast of Rabi oscillations can be controlled by the initial phase of dynamic modulation, which can be tuned arbitrarily from zero to unity as the phase varies. The contrast of zero corresponds to the dynamic supermodes and unity refers to complete Rabi oscillations. It suggests that the phase can be a new degree of freedom to control optical Rabi oscillations. This study may find applications in optical sensors, switches and mode converters.  相似文献

双光子拉曼过程是一种有效制备和控制原子内态的方法, 在原子内态操控和基于原子的量子信息处理中具有重要意义. 研制用于特定原子的拉曼激光是实现该过程的重要一步. 报道了利用光纤波导相位调制器及滤波器等实现用于铯原子内态操控的拉曼激光的方法, 并成功用于单个铯原子的内态精密操控. 通过4.6 GHz的微波信号源直接驱动波导相位调制器高效地获得光场的调制边带, 并利用自由光谱区为9.19 GHz的法布里-珀罗腔将载波及二阶边带滤掉, 获得了频率精确、相差9.19 GHz的拉曼激光. 经过基于光纤振幅调制器的功率稳定系统, 最终可以获得总功率为73 μupW、长时间内波动为2.2%的拉曼激光束, 并将此光束用于激发单个铯原子, 实现了|6S1/2, F=4, mF=0和|6S1/2, F=3, mF=0 之间的可控拉比操作.  相似文献

We study the geometric curvature and phase of the Rabi model. Under the rotating-wave approximation (RWA), we apply the gauge independent Berry curvature over a surface integral to calculate the Berry phase of the eigenstates for both single and two-qubit systems, which is found to be identical with the system of spin-1/2 particle in a magnetic field. We extend the idea to define a vacuum-induced geometric curvature when the system starts from an initial state with pure vacuum bosonic field. The induced geometric phase is related to the average photon number in a period which is possible to measure in the qubit–cavity system. We also calculate the geometric phase beyond the RWA and find an anomalous sudden change, which implies the breakdown of the adiabatic theorem and the Berry phases in an adiabatic cyclic evolution are ill-defined near the anti-crossing point in the spectrum.  相似文献

The nonlinear Landau-Zener tunneling and nonlinear Rabi oscillations of Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) with higher-order atomic interaction between the Bloch bands in an accelerating optical lattice are discussed. Within the two-level model, the tunneling probability of BEC with higher-order atomic interaction between Bloch bands is obtained. We finds that the tunneling rate is closely related to the higher-order atomic interaction. Furthermore, the nonlinear Rabi oscillations of BEC with higher-order atomic interaction between the bands are discussed by imposing a periodic modulation on the level bias. Analytical expressions of the critical higher-order atomic interaction for suppressing/enhancing the Rabi oscillations are obtained. It is shown that the critical value strongly depends on the modulation parameters (i.e., the modulation amplitude and frequency) and the strength of periodic potential.  相似文献

电路量子电动力学的实验实现了光与人造原子的超强耦合相互作用, 相互作用强度与光场频率在同一个数量级.在超强耦合区域, 著名的旋波近似失效, 因此系统的动力学必须用含有反旋波项的Rabi模型描述.本文研究Rabi模型中的光场压缩.数值模拟结果发现, 光场压缩不是随耦合强度线性增加, 而是在合适的超强区域获得最大值.同时, 我们还发现, 较小的反旋波项有助于提高光场压缩.所得结果有利于实验上在超强区域中制备所需的压缩态. 关键词: Rabi模型 超强耦合 光场压缩  相似文献
