In this paper, we obtain new exact non-self-similar solutions of the nonlinear diffusion equation $$\begin{gathered} {\text{ }}u_t = \Delta \ln u, \hfill \\ u \triangleq u\left( {x,t} \right):\Omega \times \mathbb{R}^ + \to \mathbb{R},{\text{ }} x \in \mathbb{R}^n , \hfill \\ \end{gathered} $$ where $\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^n $ is the domain and $\mathbb{R}^ + = \left\{ {t:0 \leqslant t < + \infty } \right\},{\text{ }}u\left( {x,t} \right) \geqslant 0$ is the temperature of the medium.  相似文献

Introduce the notation: $\mathbb{Z}$ is the set of integers, $\bar {\mathbb{Z}}={\mathbb{Z}} \cup \{-\infty, +\infty\},{\mathbb{R}}_+^2 =\{x=(x_1,x_2) \in {\mathbb{R}}^2; x_1>0,x_2>0\}$ , $g_{k,m} (x,\alpha,h)= \int\limits_0^1 {g_1 (\frac{(k+u)h_1 - x_1}{\alpha_1})g_2(\frac{(m+u)h_2 - x_2}{\alpha_2})}du$ , where $g_i :\mathbb{R} \to \mathbb{R},x \in \mathbb{R}^2 ,\alpha ,h \in \mathbb{R}_ + ^2 $ . Under certain conditions on the functions g 1, g 2, we prove that the system of functions $g_{k,m} (x,\alpha^(n), h^(n)) (k,m \in \bar {\mathbb{Z}})$ , where $\alpha ^{\left( n \right)} ,h^{\left( n \right)} \in \mathbb{R}_ + ^2 $ are arbitrary infinitesimal sequences, is complete in the space C $\mathbb{R}^2 $ of uniformly continuous bounded functions f equipped with the norm $||f|| = \mathop {\sup }\limits_{x \in \mathbb{R}^2 } |f(x)|$ . Starting with the functions g k,m , it is possible to construct a method for uniform approximating in $\mathbb{R}^2 $ any continuous function of bounded variation in the sense of Hardy. An error estimate is derived in terms of the second order moduli of continuity. Based on the obtained results, we discuss in detail the accuracy of uniform approximation of functions of several variables by linear functions. The error estimates are derived by using second order moduli of continuity. We pay a particular attention to sharpness of constants. Bibliography: 8 titles.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the behavior of the Fourier--Haar coefficients $a_{m_1 , \ldots ,m_n } \left( f \right)$ of functions $f$ Lebesgue integrable on the $n$ -dimensional cube $D_n = \left[ {0,1} \right]^n $ and having a bounded Vitali variation $V_{D_n } f$ on it. It is proved that $$\sum\limits_{m_1 = 2}^\infty \cdots \sum\limits_{m_n = 2}^\infty {\left| {a_{m_1 , \ldots ,m_n } \left( f \right)} \right|} \leqslant \left( {\frac{{2 + \sqrt 2 }}{3}} \right)^n {\text{ }}.{\text{ }}V_{D_n } f$$ and shown that this estimate holds for some function of bounded finite nonzero Vitali variation.  相似文献

In the present note the algebraic independence of certain continued fractions is proved. Especially, we prove that the Böhmer-Mahler's series \(\sum\limits_{K = 1}^\infty {\left[ {\omega _v k} \right]} {\text{ }}g_\mu ^{ - k} \left( {1 \leqslant \mu \leqslant s,1 \leqslant v \leqslant t} \right)\) are algebraically independent, where \(\mathop \omega \nolimits_1 {\text{ , }}...{\text{ , }}\mathop \omega \nolimits_{\text{t}} \) , ..., \(\mathop g\nolimits_1 {\text{ , }}...{\text{ , }}\mathop g\nolimits_s \) are some irrational numbers andg 1, ...,g s are distinct positive integers.  相似文献

A classical result states that every lower bounded superharmonic function on ${\mathbb{R}^{2}}$ is constant. In this paper the following (stronger) one-circle version is proven. If ${f : \mathbb{R}^{2} \to (-\infty,\infty]}$ is lower semicontinuous, lim inf|x|→∞ f (x)/ ln |x| ≥ 0, and, for every ${x \in \mathbb{R}^{2}}$ , ${1/(2\pi) \int_0^{2\pi} f(x + r(x)e^{it}) \, dt \le f(x)}$ , where ${r : \mathbb{R}^{2} \to (0,\infty)}$ is continuous, ${{\rm sup}_{x \in \mathbb{R}^{2}} (r(x) - |x|) < \infty},$ , and ${{\rm inf}_{x \in \mathbb{R}^{2}} (r(x)-|x|)=-\infty}$ , then f is constant. Moreover, it is shown that, assuming rc| · | + M on ${\mathbb{R}^d}$ , d ≤ 2, and taking averages on ${\{y \in \mathbb{R}^{d} : |y-x| \le r(x)\}}$ , such a result of Liouville type holds for supermedian functions if and only if cc 0, where c 0 = 1, if d = 2, whereas 2.50 < c 0 < 2.51, if d = 1.  相似文献

Let 0≤g be a dyadic Hölder continuous function with period 1 and g(0)=1, and let $G(x) = \prod\nolimits_{n = 0}^\infty {g(x/{\text{2}}^n )} $ . In this article we investigate the asymptotic behavior of $\smallint _0^{\rm T} \left| {G(x)} \right|^q dx$ and $\frac{1}{n}\sum\nolimits_{k = 0}^n {\log g(2^k x)} $ using the dynamical system techniques: the pressure function and the variational principle. An algorithm to calculate the pressure is presented. The results are applied to study the regulatiry of wavelets and Bernoulli convolutions.  相似文献

Let and be polynomials orthogonal on the unit circle with respect to the measures dσ and dμ, respectively. In this paper we consider the question how the orthogonality measures dσ and dμ are related to each other if the orthogonal polynomials are connected by a relation of the form , for , where . It turns out that the two measures are related by if , where and are known trigonometric polynomials of fixed degree and where the 's are the zeros of on . If the 's and 's are uniformly bounded then (under some additional conditions) much more can be said. Indeed, in this case the measures dσ and dμ have to be of the form and , respectively, where are nonnegative trigonometric polynomials. Finally, the question is considered to which weight functions polynomials of the form where denotes the reciprocal polynomial of , can be orthogonal. In this paper, we study the problem of the variation (if any) of the sets of convergence and divergence everywhere or almost everywhere of a multiple Fourier series (integral) of a function $f \in L_p $ , $p \geqslant 1$ , $f(x) = 0$ , on a set of positive measure $\mathfrak{A} \subset \mathbb{T}^N = [ - \pi ,\pi )^N $ , $N \geqslant 2$ , depending on the rotation of the coordinate system, i.e., depending on the element $\tau \in \mathcal{F}$ , where $\mathcal{F}$ is the rotation group about the origin in $\mathbb{R}^N $ . This problem has been reduced to the study of the change in the geometry of the sets $\tau ^{ - 1} (\mathfrak{A}) \cap \mathbb{T}^N $ (where $\tau ^{ - 1} \in \mathcal{F}$ satisfies $\tau ^{ - 1} \cdot \tau = 1$ ) and $\mathbb{T}^N \backslash {\text{supp}}(f \circ \tau )$ depending on the “rotation,” i.e., on $\tau \in \mathcal{F}$ . In the present paper, we consider two settings of this problem (depending on the sense in which the Fourier series of the function $f \circ \tau $ is understood) and give (for both cases) possible solutions of the problem in the class $L_1 (\mathbb{T}^N )$ , $N \geqslant 2$ .  相似文献

By means of Riccati transformation technique, we establish some new oscillation criteria for second-order nonlinear delay difference equation $$\Delta (p_n (\Delta x_n )^\gamma ) + q_n f(x_{n - \sigma } ) = 0,\;\;\;\;n = 0,1,2,...,$$ when $\sum\limits_{n = 0}^\infty {\left( {\frac{1}{{Pn}}} \right)^{\frac{1}{\gamma }} = \infty }$ . When $\sum\limits_{n = 0}^\infty {\left( {\frac{1}{{Pn}}} \right)^{\frac{1}{\gamma }} < \infty }$ we present some sufficient conditions which guarantee that, every solution oscillates or converges to zero. When $\sum\limits_{n = 0}^\infty {\left( {\frac{1}{{Pn}}} \right)^{\frac{1}{\gamma }} = \infty }$ holds, our results do not require the nonlinearity to be nondecreasing and are thus applicable to new classes of equations to which most previously known results are not.  相似文献

We establish a relation between the lower bound for the maximum of the modulus of $\zeta (1/2 + iT + s)$ in the disk $|s| \leqslant H$ and the lower bound for the maximum of the modulus of $\zeta (1/2 + iT + it)$ on the closed interval $|t| \leqslant H$ for $0 < H(T) \leqslant {1 \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {1 2}} \right. \kern-0em} 2}$ . The special cases ${\mathcal{B}}_{n,2,1} $ and ${\mathcal{D}}_{n,2} $ are well known as the reflection hyperplane arrangements corresponding to the Coxeter groups of type B nand D n respectively. In this paper we study combinatorial and topological properties of the intersection lattices of these subspace arrangements. Expressions for their Möbius functions and characteristic polynomials are derived. Lexicographic shellability is established in the case of ${\mathcal{B}}_{n,k,h,} 1 \leqslant h < k$ , which allows computation of the homology of its intersection lattice and the cohomology groups of the manifold $\begin{gathered} {\mathcal{D}}_{n,2} \\ M_{n,k,h,} = {\mathbb{R}}^n \backslash \bigcup {{\mathcal{B}}_{n,k,h,} } \\ \end{gathered} $ . For instance, it is shown that $H^d \left( {M_{n,k,k - 1} } \right)$ is torsion-free and is nonzero if and only if d = t(k ? 2) for some $t,0 \leqslant t \leqslant \left[ {{n \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {n k}} \right. \kern-0em} k}} \right]$ . We study sensitivity of optimal recovery of Sfrom inexact samples of ftaken at npoints forming a uniform grid on $I^d $ . We assume that the inaccuracy in reading the sample vector is measured in the pth norm and bounded by a nonnegative number δ. The sensitivity is defined by the difference between the optimal errors corresponding to the exact and perturbed readings, respectively. Our main result is that this difference is bounded by $\mathcal{A}\delta $ , where $\mathcal{A} $ is a positive constant independent of the number of samples. This indicates that the curse of dimension, which badly affects the optimal errors, does not extend to sensitivity.  相似文献

Assume that the Markov chain has a unique stationary measure ??. Under appropriate assumptions on ${\psi_{\theta_n}}$ , we will show that the measure ?? has a heavy tail with the exponent ???>?0 i.e. ${\nu(\{x\in\mathbb{R}^d: |x| > t\})\asymp t^{-\alpha}}$ . Using this result we show that properly normalized Birkhoff sums ${S_n^x=\sum_{k=1}^n X_k^x}$ , converge in law to an ??-stable law for ${\alpha\in(0, 2]}$ .  相似文献
