This work reports the results of a kinetic and mechanistic investigations of the addition reaction of triphenylphosphine to para‐naphtoquinone in 1,2‐dichloromethane as solvent. The order of reaction with respect to the reactants was determined using initial rate method, and the rate constant was obtained on the basis of pseudo‐first‐order method. Variable time method using Uv–Vis spectrophotometry (at 400 nm) was utilized for monitoring this addition reaction, for which the following Arrhenius equation was obtained: The resulting activation parameters Ea, ΔH#, ΔG#, and ΔS# at 300 K were 13.63, 14.42, 18.75 kcal mol?1, and ?14.54 cal mol?1K?1, respectively. The results suggest that the reaction is first order with respect to both triphenylphosphine and para‐naphthoquinone. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 37: 427–433, 2005  相似文献

The kinetics of the addition reaction of aniline to ethyl propiolate in dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) as solvent was studied. Initial rate method was used to determine the order of the reaction with respect to the reactants, and pseudo‐first‐order method was used to calculate the rate constant. This reaction was monitored by UV–Vis spectrophotometer at 399 nm by the variable time method. On the basis of the experimental results, the Arrhenius equation for this reaction was obtained as log k = 6.07 ‐ (12.96/2.303 RT). The activation parameters, Ea, ΔH#, ΔG#, and ΔS# at 300 K were 12.96, 13.55, 23.31 kcal mol?1 and ?32.76 cal mol?1 K?1, respectively. The results revealed a first‐order reaction with respect to both aniline and ethyl propiolate. In addition, based on the experimental results and using also density functional theory (DFT) at B3LYP/6‐31G* level, a mechanism for this reaction was proposed. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The thermal decomposition reaction of acetone cyclic diperoxide (3,3,6,6‐tetramethyl‐1,2,4,5‐tetroxane, ACDP), in the temperature range of 130.0–166.0°C and initial concentrations range of 0.4–3.1 × 10?2 mol kg?1 has been studied in methyl t‐butyl ether solution. The thermolysis follows first‐order kinetic laws up to at least ca 60% ACDP conversion. Under the experimental conditions, the activation parameters of the initial step of the reaction (ΔH# = 33.6 ± 1.1 kcal mol?1; ΔS# = ?4.1 ± 0.7 cal mol?1 K?1; ΔG# = 35.0 ± 1.1 kcal mol?1) and acetone, as the only organic product, support a stepwise reaction mechanism with the homolytic rupture of one of its peroxidic bond. Also, participation of solvent molecules in the reaction is postulated given an intermediate diradical, which further decomposes by C? O bond ruptures, yielding a stoichiometric amount of acetone (2 mol per mole of ACDP decomposed). The results are compared with those obtained for the above diperoxide thermolysis in other solvents. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 36: 302–307, 2004  相似文献

The dynamic behavior of the N,N,N′,N′‐tetramethylethylenediamine (tmeda) ligand has been studied in solid lithium‐fluorenide(tmeda) ( 3 ) and lithium‐benzo[b]fluorenide(tmeda) ( 4 ) using CP/MAS solid‐state 13C‐ and 15N‐NMR spectroscopy. It is shown that, in the ground state, the tmeda ligand is oriented parallel to the long molecular axis of the fluorenide and benzo[b]fluorenide systems. At low temperature (<250 K), the 13C‐NMR spectrum exhibits two MeN signals. A dynamic process, assigned to a 180° rotation of the five‐membered metallacycle (π‐flip), leads at elevated temperatures to coalescence of these signals. Line‐shape calculations yield ΔH?=42.7 kJ mol?1, ΔS?=?5.3 J mol?1 K?1, and =44.3 kJ mol?1 for 3 , and ΔH?=36.8 kJ mol?1, ΔS?=?17.7 J mol?1 K?1, and =42.1 kJ mol?1 for 4 , respectively. A second dynamic process, assigned to ring inversion of the tmeda ligand, was detected from the temperature dependence of T1ρ, the 13C spin‐lattice relaxation time in the rotating frame, and led to ΔH?=24.8 kJ mol?1, ΔS?=?49.2 J mol?1 K?1, and =39.5 kJ mol?1 for 3 , and ΔH?=18.2 kJ mol?1, ΔS?=?65.3 J mol?1 K?1, and =37.7 kJ mol?1 for 4 , respectively. For (D12)‐ 3 , the rotation of the CD3 groups has also been studied, and a barrier Ea of 14.1 kJ mol?1 was found.  相似文献

The title reaction gives rise to a benzylic cation that is rapidly transformed to its bromide in competition with the reaction of the radical with carbon tetrachloride. Experiments were carried out over 17–69°C in acetic acid containing cobalt(II) acetate, para‐xylene, hydrobromic acid, carbon tetrachloride, and meta‐chloroperoxybenzoic acid. The product ratio, ArCH2Cl/ArCH2Br, in combination with other pertinent rate constants, was used to determine the rate constant for the step of interest: log k (L mol?1 s?1 = 19.9 – (75 ± 11 kJ mol?1/2.303 RT). The large pre‐exponential factor, which gives ΔS? = 128 J K?1 mol?1, signals an unusual transition state, because a negative value of ΔS? would be expected for a simple bimolecular reaction. The production of the ion pair ArCH‖OAc? in HOAc, which has the same dielectric constant as benzene, may be responsible, at least in part. Furthermore, inner sphere reorganization of cobalt may also contribute. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 37: 599–604, 2005  相似文献

The mechanism by which an excess of iron(II) ion reacts with aqueous chlorine dioxide to produce iron(III) ion and chloride ion has been determined. The reaction proceeds via the formation of chlorite ion, which in turn reacts with additional iron(II) to produce the observed products. The first step of the process, the reduction of chlorine dioxide to chlorite ion, is fast compared to the subsequent reduction of chlorite by iron(II). The overall stoichiometry is The rate is independent of pH over the range from 3.5 to 7.5, but the reaction is assisted by the presence of acetate ion. Thus the rate law is given by At an ionic strength of 2.0 M and at 25°C, ku = (3.9 ± 0.1) × 103 L mol?1 s?1 and kc = (6 ± 1) × 104 L mol?1 s?1. The formation constant for the acetatoiron(II) complex, Kf, at an ionic strength of 2.0 M and 25°C was found to be (4.8 ± 0.8) × 10?2 L mol?1. The activation parameters for the reaction were determined and compared to those for iron(II) ion reacting directly with chlorite ion. At 0.1 M ionic strength, the activation parameters for the two reactions were found to be identical within experimental error. The values of ΔH? and ΔS? are 64 ± 3 kJ mol?1 and + 40 ± 10 J K?1 mol?1 respectively. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 36: 554–565, 2004  相似文献

The reaction between chromium(VI) and L-ascorbic acid has been studied by spectrophotometry in the presence of aqueous citrate buffers in the pH range 5.69–7.21. The reaction is slowed down by an increase of the ionic strength. At constant ionic strength, manganese(II) ion does not exert any appreciable inhibition effect on the reaction rate. The rate law found is where Kp is the equilibrium constant for protonation of chromate ion and kr is the rate constant for the redox reaction between the active forms of the oxidant (hydrogenchromate ion) and the reductant (L-hydrogenascorbate ion). The activation parameters associated with rate constant kr are Ea = 20.4 ± 0.9 kJ mol?1, ΔH = 17.9 ± 0.9 kJ mol?1, and ΔS=?152 ± 3 J K?1 mol?1. The reaction thermodynamic magnitudes associated with equilibrium constant Kp are ΔH0 = 16.5 ± 1.1 kJ mol?1 and ΔS0 = 167 ± 4 J K?1 mol?1. A mechanism in accordance with the experimental data is proposed for the reaction. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

The kinetic and mechanistic study of Ag(I)‐catalyzed chlorination of linezolid (LNZ) by free available chlorine (FAC) was investigated at environmentally relevant pH 4.0–9.0. Apparent second‐order rate constants decreased with an increase in pH of the reaction mixture. The apparent second‐order rate constant for uncatalyzed reaction, e.g., kapp = 8.15 dm3 mol−1 s−1 at pH 4.0 and kapp. = 0.076 dm3 mol−1 s−1 at pH 9.0 and 25 ± 0.2°C and for Ag(I) catalyzed reaction total apparent second‐order rate constant, e.g., kapp = 51.50 dm3 mol−1 s−1 at pH 4.0 and kapp. = 1.03 dm3 mol−1 s−1 at pH 9.0 and 25 ± 0.2°C. The Ag(I) catalyst accelerates the reaction of LNZ with FAC by 10‐fold. A mechanism involving electrophilic halogenation has been proposed based on the kinetic data and LC/ESI/MS spectra. The influence of temperature on the rate of reaction was studied; the rate constants were found to increase with an increase in temperature. The thermodynamic activation parameters Ea, ΔH#, ΔS#, and ΔG# were evaluated for the reaction and discussed. The influence of catalyst, initially added product, dielectric constant, and ionic strength on the rate of reaction was also investigated. The monochlorinated substituted product along with degraded one was formed by the reaction of LNZ with FAC.  相似文献

The redox reaction between dicyanobis(bipyridine)iron(III) and iodide ion follows first‐order kinetics in 10% (v/v) tertiary butyl alcohol‐water. The reaction was found first and zero order in iodide and dicyanobis(bipyridine)iron(III), respectively, at 0.06 M ionic strength and 293 ± 1 K. The thermodynamic parameters of activation such as EA (16.07 kJ mol?1), A (1 × 10?4 M s?1), ΔH# (13.6 kJ mol?1), ΔS# (?329.81 J K?1 mol?1), and ΔG# (90.1 kJ mol?1) were determined. The effect of the ionic strength on the rate constant leads to recognizing the stabilization or destabilization of the transition state complex that forms during the rate‐determining step of the reaction. The value of the zero‐order rate constant was decreased with increasing ionic strength that yielded a negative value of the slope in each binary and ternary solvent systems. This negative sign refers to the electron transfer between opposite charge carriers such as [FeIII(bpy)2(CN)2]+ and I? during the rate‐determining step. The destabilization of the transition state complex is surfaced by the increasing slope, that is, 5 < 10 < 15% (v/v) tertiary butyl alcohol‐water with a gradual decrease in the rate constant. However, its stability emerges by relatively small values of the slope in 17.5 < 25 ≤ 30% (v/v) tertiary butyl alcohol‐water and 8:2:90 < 6:4:90% (v/v) dioxane: tertiary butyl alcohol: water with reasonably fast rate of reaction.  相似文献

The kinetics and mechanism of the formal [2+2] cycloaddition–cycloreversion reaction between 4‐(N,N‐dimethylamino)phenylacetylene ( 1 ) and para‐substituted benzylidenemalononitriles 2 b – 2 l to form 2‐donor‐substituted 1,1‐dicyanobuta‐1,3‐dienes 3 b – 3 l via the postulated dicyanocyclobutene intermediates 4 b – 4 l have been studied experimentally by the method of initial rates and computationally at the unrestricted B3LYP/6‐31G(d) level. The transformations were found to follow bimolecular, second‐order kinetics, with ${{\rm{\Delta }}H_{{\rm{exp}}}^{ {\ne} } }$ =13–18 kcal mol?1, ${{\rm{\Delta }}S_{{\rm{exp}}}^{ {\ne} } }$ ≈?30 cal K?1 mol?1, and ${{\rm{\Delta }}G_{{\rm{exp}}}^{ {\ne} } }$ =22–27 kcal mol?1. These experimental activation parameters for the rate‐determining cycloaddition step are close to the computational values. The rate constants show a good linear free energy relationship (ρ=2.0) with the electronic character of the para‐substituents on the benzylidene moiety in dimethylformamide (DMF), which is indicative of a dipolar mechanism. Analysis of the computed structures and their corresponding solvation energies in acetonitrile suggests that the rate‐determining attack of the nucleophilic, terminal alkyne carbon onto the dicyanovinyl electrophile generates a transient zwitterion intermediate with the negative charge developing as a stabilized malononitrile carbanion. The computational analysis predicted that the cycloreversion of the postulated dicyanocyclobutene intermediate would become rate‐determining for 1,1‐dicyanoethene ( 2 m ) as the electrophile. The dicyanocyclobutene 4 m could indeed be isolated as the key intermediate from the reaction between alkyne 1 and 2 m and characterized by X‐ray analysis. Facile first‐order cycloreversion occurred upon further heating, yielding as the sole product the 1,1‐dicyanobuta‐1,3‐diene 3 m .  相似文献

The rate constants for the reaction of 2,6‐bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)‐4‐nitroanisole with some substituted anilines have been measured by spectrophotometric methods in methanol at various temperatures. The data are consistent with the SNAr mechanism. The effect of substituents on the rate of reaction has been examined. Good linear relationships were obtained from the plots of log k1 against Hammett σpara constants values at all temperature with negative ρ values (?1.68 to ?1.11). Activation parameters ΔH varied from 41.6 to 54.3 kJ mol?1 and ΔS from ?142.7 to ?114.6 J mol?1 K?1. The δΔH and δΔS reaction constants were determined from the dependence of ΔH and ΔS activation parameters on the σ substituent constants, by analogy with the Hammett equation. A plot of ΔH versus ΔS for the reaction gave good straight line with 177°C isokinetic temperature. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 42: 203–210, 2010  相似文献

The kinetics of the interactions between three sulfur‐containing ligands, thioglycolic acid, 2‐thiouracil, glutathione, and the title complex, have been studied spectrophotometrically in aqueous medium as a function of the concentrations of the ligands, temperature, and pH at constant ionic strength. The reactions follow a two‐step process in which the first step is ligand‐dependent and the second step is ligand‐independent chelation. Rate constants (k1 ~10?3 s?1 and k2 ~10?5 s?1) and activation parameters (for thioglycolic acid: ΔH1 = 22.4 ± 3.0 kJ mol?1, ΔS1 = ?220 ± 11 J K?1 mol?1, ΔH2 = 38.5 ± 1.3 kJ mol?1, ΔS2 = ?204 ± 4 J K?1 mol?1; for 2‐thiouracil: ΔH1 = 42.2 ± 2.0 kJ mol?1, ΔS1 = ?169 ± 6 J K?1 mol?1, ΔH2 = 66.1 ± 0.5 kJ mol?1, ΔS2 = ?124 ± 2 J K?1 mol?1; for glutathione: ΔH1 = 47.2 ± 1.7 kJ mol?1, ΔS1 = ?155 ± 5 J K?1mol?1, ΔH2 = 73.5 ± 1.1 kJ mol?1, ΔS2 = ?105 ± 3 J K?1 mol?1) were calculated. Based on the kinetic and activation parameters, an associative interchange mechanism is proposed for the interaction processes. The products of the reactions have been characterized from IR and ESI mass spectroscopic analysis. A rate law involving the outer sphere association complex formation has been established as   相似文献

In order to appreciate the excellent catalytic effect of iodine on the alcoholyses of alkoxysilanes more precisely, the rates of the reaction, Et3SiOBun + BusOH ? Et3SiOBus + BunOH, were determined at various iodine concentrations. Both forward and reverse reactions are first order with respect to butoxysilane and to butanol, and pseudo first-order rate constants were measured at 40°, 30°, and 20°C on reaction mixtures containing both butanols in excess by means of gas-liquid chromatography. The observed rate constants as a function of iodine concentration gave linear relationships, and from these data the catalytic coefficients of iodine were evaluated: The enthalpies and the entropies of activation were estimated to be 53.2 kJ mol?1, ?103 J K?1 mol?1 (forward, 30°C) and 51.8 kJ mol?1, minus;100 J K?1 mol?1 (reverse, 30°C).  相似文献

The kinetics of decomposition of an [Pect·MnVIO42?] intermediate complex have been investigated spectrophotometrically at various temperatures of 15–30°C and a constant ionic strength of 0.1 mol dm?3. The decomposition reaction was found to be first‐order in the intermediate concentration. The results showed that the rate of reaction was base‐catalyzed. The kinetic parameters have been evaluated and found to be ΔS = ? 190.06 ± 9.84 J mol?1 K?1, ΔH = 19.75 ± 0.57 kJ mol?1, and ΔG = 76.39 ± 3.50 kJ mol?1, respectively. The interaction of the palladium(II) complex [Pd(hzpy)(H2O)2]2+, where hzpy is 2‐hydrazinopyridine, with purine nucleoside adenosine 5′‐monophosphate (5′‐AMP) was studied kinetically under pseudo‐first‐order conditions, using stopped‐flow techniques. The reaction was found to take place in two consecutive reaction steps, which are both dependent on the actual 5′‐AMP concentration. The activation parameters for the two reaction steps, i.e. ΔH = 32 ±2 kJ mol?1, ΔS = ?168 ±7 J K?1 mol?1, and ΔH = 28 ± 1 kJ mol?1, ΔS = ?126 ± 5 J K?1 mol?1, respectively, were evaluated and suggested an associative mode of activation for both substitution processes. The kinetics of the bromate ion-iodide ion-L-ascorbic acid clock reaction was investigated as a function of temperature and pressure using stopped-flow techniques. Kinetic results were obtained for the uncatalyzed as well as for the Mo(VI) and V(V) catalyzed reactions. While molybdenum catalyzes the BrO-I? reaction, vanadium catalyzes the direct oxidation of ascorbic acid by bromate ion. The corresponding rate laws and kinetic parameters are as follows. Uncatalyzed reaction: r2 = k2[BrO] [I?][H+]2, k2 = 38.6 ± 2.0 dm9 mol?3 s?1, ΔH? = 41.3 ± 4.2 kJmol?1, ΔS? = ?75.9 ± 11.4 Jmol?1 K?1, ΔV? = ?14.2 ± 2.9 cm3 mol?1. Molybdenum-catalyzed reaction: r2 = k2[BrO] [I?] [H+]2 + kMo[BrO] [I?] [ H+]2[M0(VI)], kMo = (2.9 ± 0.3)106 dm12 mol?4 s?1, ΔH? = 27.2 ± 2.5 kJmol?1, ΔS? = ?30.1 ± 4.5 Jmol?1K?1, ΔV? = 14.2 ± 2.1 cm3 mol?1. Vanadium-catalyzed reaction: r1 = kV[BrO] [V(V)], kV = 9.1 ± 0.6 dm3 mol?1 s?1, ΔH? = 61.4 ± 5.4 kJmol?1, ΔS? = ?20.7 ± 3.1 Jmol?1K?1, ΔV? = 5.2 ± 1.5 cm3 mol?1. On the basis of the results, mechanistic details of the BrO-I? reaction and the catalytic oxidation of ascorbic acid by BrO are elaborated. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献
