A three‐dimensional four components magneto‐plasma system consists of super‐thermal κ‐distributed electrons and positrons, Maxwellian ions, and inertial massive negatively charged dust grains is considered to examine the modulational instability (MI) of the dust‐acoustic waves (DAWs), which propagates in such a magneto‐plasma system. The reductive perturbation method, which is valid for small but finite amplitude DAWs, is employed to derive the (3 + 1)‐dimensional non‐linear Schrödinger equation (NLSE). The NLSE leads to the MI of DAWs as well as the formation of dust‐acoustic rogue waves (DARWs) which are formed due to the effects of non‐linearity in the propagation of the DAWs. It is found that the basic features (viz. amplitude and width) of the DAWs and DARWs (which is formed in the unstable region) are significantly modified by the various plasma parameters such as κ‐distributed electrons and positrons, temperatures, and number densities of plasma species, and so on. The application of the results in both space and laboratory magneto‐plasma systems is briefly discussed.  相似文献

Dust-acoustic (DA) waves (DAWs) and their modulational instability (MI) have been investigated theoretically in a plasma system consisting of inertial opposite polarity (positively and negatively) warm adiabatic charged dust grains as well as inertialess non-extensive q?distributed electrons and non-thermal ions. A nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE) is derived by using the reductive perturbation method. It has been observed from the analysis of NLSE that the modulationally stable solitary DAWs give rise to the existence of dark envelope solitons, and that the modulationally unstable solitary DAWs give rise to the existence of bright envelope solitons or rogue structures. It is also observed for the fast mode of DAWs that the basic features (viz. stability of the DAWs, MI, growth rate, amplitude, and width of the DA rogue waves, etc.) are significantly modified by the related plasma parameters (viz. dust masses, dust charge state, non-extensive parameter q, and non-thermal parameter α). The results of our present investigation might be useful for understanding different nonlinear electrostatic phenomena in both space (viz. ionosphere and mesosphere) and laboratory plasmas (viz. high intensity laser irradiation and hot cathode discharge).  相似文献

In this study, the properties of ion‐ and positron‐acoustic solitons are investigated in a magnetized multi‐component plasma system consisting of warm fluid ions, warm fluid positrons, q‐non‐extensive distributed positrons, q‐non‐extensive distributed electrons, and immobile dust particles. To drive the Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equation, the reductive perturbation method is used. The effects of the ratio of the density of positrons to ions, the temperature of the positrons, and ions to electrons, the non‐extensivity parameters qe and qp , and the angle of the propagation of the wave with the magnetic field on the potential of ion‐ and positron‐acoustic solitons are also studied. The present investigation is applicable to solitons in fusion plasmas in the edge of tokamak.  相似文献

A kinetic formulation is developed to investigate low‐frequency dust ion acoustic waves (DIAWs) and dust acoustic waves (DAWs) as well as numerically for a four‐component, collisionless, unmagnetized dusty plasma, using the linearized Vlasov–Poisson model for species obeying the Maxwellian distribution. In particular, the dynamics of low‐frequency DIAWs is investigated by considering two cases. In the first case, ions and positive dust particles are assumed to be dynamically adiabatic while the negative dust particles are static in the background. In second case, the ions are taken adiabatic, while both positive and negative dust particles are static in the background. For DAWs, the ions are assumed to be isothermal, while both positive and negative dust species are considered adiabatic. Electrons are assumed to be isothermal in all cases. The linear characteristics and Landau damping rates for DIAWs and DAWs are investigated with effects of the dust particle concentrations and different temperature ratios. It is noted that for higher values of positive dust concentration, DIAWs (DAWs) are less (more) damped. It is also observed that the damping rate increases (decreases) as Ti approaches Te for DIAWs (DAWs). It is worth adding here that the theoretical results presented here are supported by numerical analyses and illustrations. The relevance of the study to laboratory and cosmic plasmas is also pointed out.  相似文献

The propagation properties of planar and non‐planar electron acoustic shock waves composed of stationary ions, cold electrons, and q‐non‐extensive hot electrons and positrons are studied in unmagnetized electron‐positron‐ion plasma. In this model, the Korteweg‐de Vries Burgers equation is obtained in the planar and non‐planar coordinates. We have investigated the combined action of the dissipation, non‐extensivity, density ratio of hot to cold electrons, concentration of positrons, and temperature difference of cold electrons, hot electrons, and positrons. It was found that the amplitude of shock wave in e‐p‐i plasma increases when the positron concentration and temperature increase. The same effect is observed in the case of kinematic viscosity η. Furthermore, it is noticed that spherical wave moves faster in comparison to the shock waves in cylindrical geometry. This difference arises due to the presence of the geometry term m/2τ. It should be noted that the contribution of the geometry factor comes through the continuity equation. Results of our work may be helpful to illustrate the different properties of shock wave features in different astrophysical and space environments like supernova, polar regions, and in the vicinity of black holes.  相似文献

A theoretical investigation has been made on obliquely propagating ion‐acoustic (IA) solitary structures in a three components magneto‐plasma containing cold inertial ions, Boltzmann distributed positrons, and hot non‐thermal electrons. The Zakharov‐Kuznetsov equation has been derived by the reductive perturbation method, and its solitary wave solution has been analyzed. Multi‐dimensional instability has also studied by the small‐k (long wave‐length plane wave) perturbation expansion technique, which is found to exist in such a plasma. The effects of the external magnetic field, nonthermal electrons, obliqueness and temperature ratio have significantly modified the basic properties of small but finite‐amplitude IA solitary waves, such as amplitude, width, instability criterion and the growth rate. The present investigation contributes to the physics of the nonlinear IA waves in space and laboratory electron‐positron‐ion magneto‐plasmas in which wave damping produces an electron tail. The modulational instability (MI) criteria of dust-ion-acoustic (DIA) waves (DIAWs) have been investigated in a four-component pair-ion plasma having inertial pair ions, inertialess non-thermal non-extensive electrons, and immobile negatively charged massive dust grains. A nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE) is derived by using reductive perturbation method. The nonlinear and dispersive coefficients of the NLSE can predict the modulationally stable and unstable parametric regimes of DIAWs and associated first and second-order DIA rogue waves (DIARWs). The MI growth rate and the configuration of the DIARWs are examined, and it is found that the MI growth rate increases (decreases) with increasing the number density of the negatively charged dust grains in the presence (absence) of the negative ions. It is also observed that the amplitude and width of the DIARWs increase (decrease) with the negative (positive) ion mass. The implications of the results to laboratory and space plasmas are briefly discussed.  相似文献

Effects of plasma nonextensivity on the nonlinear cnoidal ion‐acoustic wave in unmagnetized electron‐positron‐ion plasma have been investigated theoretically. Plasma positrons are taken to be Maxwellian, while the nonextensivity distribution function was used to describe the plasma electrons. The known reductive perturbation method was employed to extract the KdV equation from the basic equations of the model. Sagdeev potential, as well as the cnoidal wave solution of the KdV equation, has been discussed in detail. We have shown that the ion‐acoustic periodic (cnoidal) wave is formed only for values of the strength of nonextensivity (q). The q allowable range is shifted by changing the positron concentration (p) and the temperature ratio of electron to positron (σ). For all of the acceptable values of q, the cnoidal ion‐acoustic wave is compressive. Results show that ion‐acoustic wave is strongly influenced by the electron nonextensivity, the positron concentration, and the temperature ratio of electron to positron. In this work, we have investigated the effects of q, p, and σ on the characteristics of the ion‐acoustic periodic (cnoidal) wave, such as the amplitude, wavelength, and frequency.  相似文献

The basic properties of nonlinear ion-acoustic (IA) waves (IAWs), particularly finite amplitude IA rogue waves (IARWs) in a plasma medium (containing pair ions, iso-thermal positrons, and non-thermal electrons) are theoretically investigated by deriving the nonlinear Schr?dinger equation (NLSE). The criteria for the modulational instability of IAWs, and the basic features of finite amplitude IARWs are identified. The modulationally stable and unstable regions are determined by the sign of the ratio of the dispersive coefficient to the nonlinear rcoefficient of NLSE. The latter is analyzed to obtain the region for the existence of the IARWs, which corresponds to the unstable region. The shape of the profile of the rogue waves depends on the non-thermal parameter$\alpha$ and the ratio of electron temperature to positron temperature. It is found that the increase in the value of the non-thermal parameter enhances both the amplitude and width of IARWs, and that the enhancement of electron (positron) temperature reduces (enhances) the amplitude and width of IARWs. It is worth to mention that our present investigation may be useful for understanding the salient features of IARWs in space (viz., upper region of Titan's atmosphere, cometary comae, and Earth's ionosphere, etc.) and laboratory (viz., plasma process ingreactor and neutral beam sources, etc.) plasmas.   相似文献

A more general and realistic four-component magnetized plasma medium consisting of opposite polarity ions and nonthermal distributed positrons and electrons is considered to investigate the stable/unstable frequency regimes of modulated ion-acoustic waves (IAWs) in the D-F regions of Earth's ionosphere. A (3 + 1) -dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger equation, which leads to the modulation instability (MI) of IAWs, is derived. The parametric regimes for the existence of the MI, first- and second-order rogue waves, and also their basic features (viz., amplitude, width, and speed) are found to be significantly modified by the effect of physical plasma parameters and external magnetic field. It is found that the nonlinearity of the different types of electronegative plasma system depends on the positive to negative ion mass ratio. It is also shown that the presence of nonthermal distributed electrons and positrons modifies the nature of the MI of the modulated IAWs. The implication of our results for the laboratory plasma [e.g., (Ar+, F ) electronegative plasma] and space plasma [e.g., (H+, H ), () electronegative plasma in D-F regions of Earth's ionosphere] are briefly discussed.  相似文献

The nonlinear dust‐ion‐acoustic (DIA) solitary structures have been studied in a dusty plasma, including the Cairns‐Gurevich distribution for electrons, both negative and positive ions, and immobile opposite polarity dust grains. The external magnetic field directed along the z‐axis is considered. By using the standard reductive perturbation technique and the hydrodynamics model for the ion fluid, the modified Zakharov–Kuznetsov equation was derived for small but finite amplitude waves and was provided the solitary wave solution for the parameters relevant. Using the appropriate independent variable, we could find the modified Korteweg–de Vries equation. By plotting some figures, we have discussed and emphasized how the different plasma values, such as the trapping parameter, the positive (or negative) dust number density, the non‐thermal electron parameter, and the ion cyclotron frequency, can influence the solitary wave structures. In addition, using the bifurcation theory of planar dynamical systems, we have extracted the centre and saddle points and illustrated the phase portrait of such a system for some particular plasma parameters. Finally, we have graphically investigated the behaviour of the solitary energy wave by changing the plasma values as well as by calculating the instability criterion; we have also discussed the growth rate of the solitary waves. The results could be useful for studying the physical mechanism of nonlinear propagation of DIA solitary waves in laboratory and space plasmas where non‐thermal electrons, pair‐ions, and dust particles can exist.  相似文献

The propagation of linear and nonlinear electrostatic waves is investigated in a magnetized anisotropic electron-positron-ion (e-p-i) plasma with superthermal electrons and positrons. A two-dimensional plasma geometry is assumed. The ions are assumed to be warm and anisotropic due to an external magnetic field. The anisotropic ion pressure is defined using the double adiabatic Chew-Golberger-Low (CGL) theory. In the linear regime, two normal modes are predicted, whose characteristics are investigated parametrically, focusing on the effect of superthermality of electrons and positrons, ion pressure anisotropy, positron concentration and magnetic field strength. A Zakharov-Kuznetsov (ZK) type equation is derived for the electrostatic potential (disturbance) via a reductive perturbation method. The parametric role of superthermality, positron content, ion pressure anisotropy and magnetic field strength on the characteristics of solitary wave structures is investigated. Following Allen and Rowlands [J. Plasma Phys. 53, 63 (1995)], we have shown that the pulse soliton solution of the ZK equation is unstable to oblique perturbations, and have analytically traced the dependence of the instability growth rate on superthermality and ion pressure anisotropy.  相似文献

The non‐linear propagation of ion acoustic (IA) waves, which is governed by the non‐linear Schrödinger equation, in multi‐pair plasmas (MPPs) containing adiabatic positive and negative ion fluids as well as non‐extensive (q‐distributed) electrons and positrons is theoretically investigated. It is observed that the MPP under consideration supports two types of modes, namely fast and slow IA modes, and the modulationally stable and unstable parametric regimes for the fast and slow IA modes are determined by the sign of the ratio of the dispersive coefficient to the non‐linear one. It is also found that the modulationally unstable regime generates highly energetic IA rogue waves (IARWs), and the amplitude as well as the width of the IARWs decreases with increase in the value of q (for both q > 0 and q < 0 limits). These new striking features of the IARWs are found to be applicable in the space (i.e., D‐region [], and F‐region [H+, H?] of the Earth's ionosphere) and laboratory MPPs (i.e., fullerene [C+, C?]).  相似文献

The head-on collision of ion acoustic solitary waves are studied in an electron-positron-ion plasma composed of superthermal electrons, superthermal positrons, and cold ions using the extended Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo (PLK) method. The effects of the ratio of electron to positron temperature, the spectral index of electron and positron, and the concentration of positron component on the phase shift are studied. It is found that the presence of superthermal electrons and superthermal positrons play a significant role on the collision of ion acoustic solitary waves. It is also been observed that the temperature ratio plays a significant role on the collision of ion acoustic solitary waves.  相似文献

The characteristics of dust ion‐acoustic waves (DIAWs) that are excited because of streaming ions and hot q‐non‐extensive electrons obeying a vortex‐like distribution are investigated. By exploiting a pseudo‐potential technique, we have derived an energy integral equation. The presence of non‐extensive q‐distributed hot trapped electrons and a streaming ion beam has been shown to influence soliton structure quite significantly. The evolution of the soliton‐like perturbations in complex plasmas, taking into account the dissipation processes, are also investigated, obtained by numerically solving the modified Schamel, equation whose widths are dependant on electron trapping efficiency β. Our illustrations indicate that compressive DIAWs develop in this plasma. As the plasmas in reality have a relative flow, such an analysis can be used to understand the DIA solitary structures observed in the mesospheric noctilucent clouds.  相似文献

Kinetic theory has been applied to study the damping characteristics of dust ion acoustic waves (DIAWs) in a dusty plasma comprising q‐non‐extensive distributed electrons and ions, while the dust particles are considered extensive following the Maxwellian velocity distribution function. It is found that the results of the three‐dimensional velocity distribution function are more accurate compared to the results of the one‐dimensional velocity distribution function. The numerical solution of the dispersion relation is carried out to study the effect of the non‐extensivity parameter q on the dispersion, the damping rate, and the range of the values of the normalized wavenumber ( k λD) for which the DIAWs are weakly damped. It is found that the change in the value of the electron non‐extensivity parameter qe has a minor effect on the dispersion, the damping rate, and the range of the values of the normalized wavenumber ( k λD) for which the DIAWs are weakly damped, while on the other hand, ion non‐extensivity parameter qi has a strong effect on these arguments. The effect of other parameters, such as the ratio of electron to ion number density and ratio of electron to ion temperature, on the damping characteristics of DIAWs is also highlighted.  相似文献

In this study, a detailed investigation of the problem of sheath is presented using the fluid model in a magnetized three‐component dusty plasma system comprising positive ions, dust grains with variable charge and q‐non‐extensive electrons (i.e., the electrons evolve far away from their Maxwellian thermodynamic equilibrium [q = 1]). The effects of q‐non‐extensivity parameter on the plasma sheath parameters are studied numerically. A significant change is observed in the quantities characterizing the sheath with the presence of the super‐extensive electrons (q < 1) and sub‐extensive electrons (q > 1). In addition, based on the orbital motion limited theory, by taking various forces acting on the dust particle into consideration, the dynamics of the dust located within the sheath, that is, the dust grain charging inside the sheath, is examined under different values of q. It is found that the q‐non‐extensivity has affected significantly the dynamics and the charging process of the dust grains in the sheath.  相似文献

The linear and non‐linear dynamics of ion acoustic waves are investigated in three‐component magnetized plasma consisting of cold inertial ions and non‐thermal electrons and positrons. The non‐thermal components are modelled by the hybrid distribution, representing the combination of two (kappa and Cairn's) non‐thermal distributions. The relevant processes, including the slow rotation of plasma along the magnetic field axis and collision between ions and neutrals, are taken into consideration. It is shown that the non‐linear dynamics of the considered system are governed by the Zakharov–Kuznetsov equation in modified form. In the general dissipation regime, the effects of the two non‐thermal distributions on the solitary waves are compared. The effects of other plasma parameters, such as collisional and rotational frequency, are also discussed in detail.  相似文献

Two‐dimensional (2D) magnetosonic wave propagation in magnetized quantum dissipative plasmas is studied. The plasma system is comprised of inertial ions, inertia‐less electrons, and positrons. The multi‐fluid quantum hydrodynamic model is used, in which quantum statistical and quantum tunnelling effects of electrons and positrons are included. Reductive perturbation analysis is performed to derive the Zabolotskaya–Khokhlov equation for the 2D propagation of a magnetosonic shock wave in a magnetized qauntum plasma. The effects of varying the different plasma parameters such as positron density and magnetic field intensity on the propagation characteristics of magnetosonic shock waves are discussed with non‐relativistic degenerate plasma parameters in astrophysical plasma situations.  相似文献

We study the slowing down of a particle beam passing through the dusty plasma with power‐law κ‐distributions. Three plasma components, electrons, ions, and dust particles, can have a different κ‐parameter. By using Fokker‐Planck theory, the deceleration factor and slowing down time are derived and expressed by a hyper‐geometric κ‐function. Numerically, we study the slowing down property of an electron beam in the κ‐distributed dusty plasma. We show that the slowing down in the plasma depends strongly on the κ‐parameters of plasma components, and dust particles play a dominant role in the deceleration effects. We also show dependence of the slowing down on mass and charge of a dust particle in the kappa‐distributed plasma.  相似文献
